Vinny & Haynie react to the news that the Las Vegas Raiders signed former Ravens center Tyler Linderbaum to a 3 years $81 million deal.
Transcript
00:00This is Adam Schefter, free agent, former Ravens center, Tyler Linderbaum, agreement today with the Raiders, giving him a three
00:11-year, $81 million deal that includes $60 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid interior offensive lineman, Nolan, in the
00:26history of the National Football League.
00:29Right, and just to recap here, Conor McGovern, who was right behind Linderbaum and all these off-season market projections
00:38and everything, only separated by a million, two million at most, he ends up staying in Buffalo for $13 million
00:44a year.
00:44So I said this during the break, either the Raiders are the dumbest people on Earth for resetting the market
00:50this high, or McGovern's the biggest idiot on Earth for not seeing this out to free agency.
00:56Even if you wanted to go back to Buffalo, that's fine, but to not even see what the market would
01:01look like for yourself, my God.
01:03And the gap now between Linderbaum as the highest-paid center, Creed Humphrey as the second $9 million gap, that,
01:11oh my God, I mean, makes it a little bit easier to stomach him leaving.
01:16But I kind of already came to that conclusion about a week ago that he was as good as gone,
01:20but I thought $25 million was crazy, $23 million maybe settle around, but to $27 million?
01:27Now I wonder who else was bidding.
01:29Did the Raiders bid against themselves?
01:31That kind of sounds quintessential bid against yourself contract, but gone now is Linderbaum.
01:39This is just in the first two hours of legal tampering, everybody.
01:42Linderbaum's gone, likely he's gone to the Giants, Jordan Stout's gone to the Giants, and Draymond Jones has gone to
01:48the Tennessee Titans.
01:49Coming back is John Simpson, who was here for two years, 22 and 23, went to the Jets, now coming
01:56back, three-year deal, $10 million a year.
01:59We look at the draft class now of 22, four years, man, quick time.
02:05Hamilton's still here, but Linderbaum's gone, Ajabo's going to be gone, Jones's still here, Falele's going to be gone, Armour
02:13Davis is gone,
02:15Kolar, who knows, Stout's gone, Likely's gone, Pepe Williams is gone, Beatty's gone, so that draft class of 2022, only
02:25a couple of players left right now,
02:27and one of them's really good, it's Kyle Hamilton, and Travis Jones is really good, and he just got extended,
02:32but the rest of that class, who helped the Ravens get the number one seed in 2023, Bumbadita, Bumbadita, happy
02:42trails to you.
02:43It's actually a rare case there of a, overall, again, a lot of the guys leaving are already gone,
02:48but pretty good overall quality of a draft class for Eric DaCosta, and in his tenure here, there have not
02:55been many of those drafts.
02:57So for that, you could even argue that's been his best draft, especially with Hamilton at the front.
03:02So, you know, he actually hits on more than he misses one year, and then he can't even keep him
03:07around for financial reasons.
03:09So the Ravens are right now taking it on the chin in free agency, still work to be done, no
03:14doubt about it,
03:15but they did make the Max Crosby trade on Friday, which was a big splash, it was a home run,
03:21in my opinion.
03:22So far, pretty much everyone that has checked in today is in favor of it, but, you know, some tough
03:28losses today,
03:30but Nolan, to your point, you know, likely even Linderbaum kind of expected, but still stings nonetheless.
03:38Yeah, the stout one, to me, has been the biggest surprise.
03:41I was actually fairly confident that the Ravens would keep him, just because I thought,
03:46all right, you go a hair over your, you know, market resetting deal, it doesn't have to be that crazy.
03:52I know it's a lot for a punter, but in the grand scheme of things, this guy has coming off
03:56the best year of his career.
03:57He definitely looks like he's ascending.
03:59I thought they'd prioritize it, but maybe the dead giveaway is, I think, what you were saying last week,
04:05is that if this thing makes it through the weekend, probably consider him good as gone,
04:10and that's exactly what happened.
04:11John Harbaugh saying hello from New York, or New Jersey, with his Giants.
04:17John Harbaugh saying hello from New York, or New York, or New York, or New York, or New York.
04:17I think he's going to be the best way to do it.
