00:04Today, we're going on an incredible adventure with two of the greatest prophets ever, Elijah
00:10and Elisha.
00:11Imagine having a best friend who is also your super wise teacher.
00:15That's exactly what Elisha had in Elijah.
00:17They traveled all over the land together, sharing God's messages with everyone.
00:22One day, something extra special was about to happen.
00:25God told Elijah that his time on earth was coming to an end.
00:29But this wasn't going to be a sad goodbye.
00:32It was going to be the most spectacular exit you could ever imagine.
00:36Elijah knew this, and so he started a final journey with his faithful friend, Elisha.
00:41They walked from a place called Gilgal, and Elijah said to Elisha,
00:45Hey, you can stay here while I go on.
00:48But Elisha, who loved Elijah so much, replied,
00:52No way.
00:53As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.
00:57He was determined to stick by his friend's side, no matter what.
01:02So, they continued on their journey together.
01:05Next, they arrived at a place called Bethel.
01:08Again, Elijah tried to get Elisha to stay behind.
01:11He said,
01:12Elisha, please stay here.
01:14The Lord is sending me to Jericho.
01:16But Elisha's answer was exactly the same.
01:19I will not leave you.
01:21He was showing true loyalty and friendship.
01:23He knew this was their last day together, and he wanted to be there for every single moment.
01:29So, off they went to Jericho.
01:31And can you guess what happened there?
01:33You got it.
01:34Elijah said,
01:35Please stay here.
01:37The Lord is sending me to the Jordan River.
01:39And Elisha, with a heart full of love and determination, said for the third time,
01:45As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.
01:49This shows us how much Elisha respected and looked up to Elijah.
01:52He was not going to miss what was coming next for anything.
01:56Finally, the two friends arrived at the banks of the wide Jordan River.
02:00Fifty other prophets were watching from a distance, curious about what would happen.
02:04Elijah took off his cloak, which was a special mantle that represented his role as God's prophet.
02:11He rolled it up like a scroll, and that...
02:13Whack!
02:14He struck the water of the river with it.
02:16Instantly, something miraculous happened.
02:19The water split right down the middle, creating a dry path for them to walk on.
02:24It was just like when Moses parted the Red Sea.
02:27Elijah and Elisha walked across the dry riverbed to the other side.
02:31This amazing miracle showed everyone that the power of God was truly with Elijah.
02:36Once they were on the other side, Elijah turned to his loyal friend.
02:40He knew their time was short.
02:42So he asked,
02:43What can I do for you before I am taken from you?
02:46This was Elisha's one big chance to ask for anything in the world.
02:50And he could have asked for gold, a palace, or anything he wanted.
02:54But Elisha didn't ask for riches.
02:56He asked for something far more valuable.
02:58He said,
02:59Please, let me inherit a double portion of your spirit.
03:03What did that mean?
03:04It meant he wanted to have twice the spiritual power and wisdom that Elijah had,
03:09so he could continue God's work in an even bigger way.
03:13It was a huge request.
03:14Elijah thought for a moment and said,
03:17You have asked a difficult thing.
03:19But, if you see me when I am taken from you, it will be yours.
03:23If you don't, it won't be.
03:25This was a test.
03:26Elisha had to keep his eyes wide open and stay focused.
03:29His greatest wish depended on him witnessing the incredible event that was about to unfold.
03:35As they continued walking and talking, suddenly, the sky lit up.
03:39Out of nowhere, a magnificent chariot of fire appeared, pulled by horses of fire.
03:45It wasn't made of regular fire that burns.
03:48This was a divine, glowing fire from heaven.
03:51It was a heavenly vehicle, a celestial taxi sent from God himself.
03:56The fiery chariot and horses swooped down between Elijah and Elisha, separating the two friends.
04:02Elisha stared in absolute awe.
04:04He was seeing it.
04:05He was passing the test.
04:06His heart must have been pounding in his chest.
04:09He was witnessing something no one had ever seen before.
04:12And then, as the fiery chariot created a space between them, a mighty whirlwind, like a powerful, spinning tornado of
04:21wind, came down from the sky.
04:23This whirlwind was the sign of God's immense power and presence.
04:27It wasn't a scary storm.
04:29It was a majestic force sent to carry God's faithful servant home.
04:33The whirlwind lifted Elijah up, up, up, and he began to ascend into the heavens.
04:39He was going straight to be with God, without ever experiencing death.
04:44What an incredible honor!
04:46Elisha watched, his eyes glued to the sky, as his master, his teacher, and his friend was taken away in
04:53this glorious, divine spectacle.
04:54As Elijah rose higher and higher, Elisha cried out with all his might,
05:00My father, my father, the chariots and horsemen of Israel.
05:04He was calling Elijah his father because he was his spiritual guide.
05:08And by calling him the chariots and horsemen of Israel, he was saying that Elijah's prayers and faith were more
05:14powerful than any army in protecting their nation.
05:17Elisha watched until he could see Elijah no more.
05:21His heart was full of a mix of sadness and pure wonder.
05:24He had lost his friend, but he had also witnessed a miracle beyond imagination.
05:29And because he saw it all happen, he knew that his request for a double portion of Elijah's spirit had
05:35been granted.
05:36As Elisha looked down, he saw something on the ground.
05:39It was Elijah's mantle, the very same cloak he had used to part the Jordan River.
05:44It had fallen from Elijah as he ascended.
05:47Elisha picked it up.
05:48This wasn't just a piece of clothing.
05:50It was a symbol.
05:51It meant that the responsibility of being God's main prophet had now been passed down to him.
05:57Holding the mantle, Elisha walked back to the edge of the Jordan River.
06:01He now had to test if he truly had received the power he asked for.
06:05He took the mantle, just as Elijah had done, and he struck the water, crying out,
06:10Where now is the Lord, the God of Elijah?
06:13And what do you think happened?
06:15That's right.
06:16The water parted again, creating a dry path for him to cross.
06:20The other prophets who were watching from afar saw this and said,
06:23The spirit of Elijah is resting on Elisha.
06:27They knew that a new prophet had risen, and that God's power was now with him.
06:31This whole amazing story shows us so many cool things.
06:35It shows us God's incredible power.
06:38He can part rivers and send fiery chariots from the sky.
06:41It shows us that God rewards faithfulness.
06:44Elijah served God his whole life, and he was given a special, glorious trip to heaven.
06:49It also teaches us about the importance of loyalty and friendship, just like Elisha showed to Elijah.
06:56He never gave up.
06:57He stayed by his friend's side, and because of that, he was blessed in a huge way.
07:02The passing of the mantle from Elijah to Elisha reminds us that God's work never stops.
07:08When one person's job is done, God prepares another to carry on the mission.
07:12The fiery chariot and the whirlwind weren't just for show.
07:15They were symbols of God's divine army and his majestic power.
07:19It was like God was giving Elijah a royal escort into the heavenly kingdom.

07:31reminding us all of the awesome power and faithfulness of God.
