00:00Have you ever tried to run really, really fast?
00:03Maybe you were racing your friends at the park or trying to catch a ball.
00:07It's fun, right?
00:08Well, today we're going to talk about someone who ran so fast,
00:12it was like a real-life superhero story.
00:15His name was Elijah, and he was a prophet of God.
00:19Imagine this, a long, long time ago, there was a king named Ahab.
00:24King Ahab had a super-fast chariot pulled by strong horses.
00:28Chariots were like the sports cars of their day.
00:31The fastest way to get around.
00:33One day, Elijah had a big showdown on a mountain called Mount Carmel.
00:38He showed everyone that his God was the one true God,
00:41not the pretend gods that King Ahab's wife, Jezebel, worshipped.
00:46After this amazing event, something even more incredible happened.
00:50It hadn't rained for a very, very long time, and everyone was thirsty.
00:55The ground was dry and dusty.
00:57But Elijah prayed to God, and guess what?
01:00Big dark rain clouds started to gather in the sky.
01:03It was a miracle.
01:04Rain was finally coming.
01:06As soon as the first drops began to fall,
01:09King Ahab jumped into his chariot and told his driver,
01:12Hurry, let's get back to the city before the storm gets too bad.
01:16He thought he would easily beat the rain.
01:18But Elijah had a mission from God.
01:20He needed to get to the city too, and he needed to get there fast.
01:24So, what did Elijah do?
01:26Did he have a horse?
01:28Nope.
01:29Did he have a chariot?
01:30Not at all.
01:31Elijah did something that showed everyone how powerful God is.
01:35He tucked his long cloak into his belt so he wouldn't trip, and then he started to run.
01:40Now, this wasn't just a normal run.
01:42The Bible tells us that the power of the Lord came on Elijah.
01:46It was like God gave him a super boost of energy.
01:50He ran and ran.
01:51Faster than you can imagine.
01:53The rain was pouring down, turning the dusty roads into mud.
01:56King Ahab's chariot was speeding along, its wheels splashing through the puddles.
02:01But Elijah was even faster.
02:03Think about it.
02:04A person on foot out running a chariot pulled by powerful horses.
02:08That's like trying to race a car on your own to feet and winning.
02:11The city was over 20 miles away.
02:14That's like running a marathon, but way, way faster.
02:17He wasn't just jogging.
02:19He was sprinting the whole way.
02:21Elijah's feet flew over the ground.
02:23He wasn't getting tired.
02:24He just kept going, powered by God.
02:27He passed fields and trees, a blur of motion in the pouring rain.
02:31King Ahab, sitting in his fancy chariot, must have looked back and been completely shocked.
02:37There was Elijah, a man running on his own, keeping up with him, and then zooming right
02:43past him.
02:44This amazing race wasn't just about being fast.
02:46It was a message.
02:48It showed King Ahab and everyone else that God's power is greater than any king's power.
02:53A king's chariot might be fast, but God's prophet, filled with God's strength, was faster.
02:59It showed that God was in control of everything.
03:02The rain, the speed, everything.
03:05Elijah's super speed run was a symbol.
03:08After showing that God was the one who could send fire from heaven and make it rain, this
03:13was like the grand finale.
03:14It proved that when you are on God's team, you can do incredible things.
03:19God was with Elijah every step of the way, giving him the strength to do what seemed impossible.
03:24This event also set the stage for what would happen next.
03:27First, Elijah was running ahead to face the angry Queen Jezebel.
03:31It was a moment full of urgency and importance.
03:34He wasn't just running from the rain.
03:36He was running toward his next big mission for God.
03:39So what can we learn from Elijah's super sprint?
03:42First, it reminds us that with God, nothing is impossible.
03:46We might not be asked to outrun a chariot, but God gives us strength for our own challenges.
03:51Whether it's being brave when we're scared, being kind to someone who is sad, or standing
03:57up for what is right.
03:58Second, it teaches us about obedience.
04:01Elijah listened to God and did exactly what he was told.
04:05When we listen and obey God, amazing things can happen.
04:09Elijah's story is all about prayer and obedience.
04:12He prayed for rain, and God answered.
04:15He ran when God gave him the power, and he accomplished an incredible feat.
04:19And finally, it's a story about God's amazing power.
04:23He controls nature, he gives strength to his people, and his authority is greater than any
04:29earthly king or ruler.
04:30Elijah's run wasn't just a physical miracle.
04:33It was a powerful statement that God is the ultimate champion.
04:37Next time you're running and feeling fast and strong, remember the story of Elijah.
04:42Remember the prophet who, with God's help, became a super runner and outran a king's chariot.
04:48It's a fantastic reminder that when God is on your side, you have a strength that is greater
04:53than anything you can imagine.
