00:00Hello, adventurers. Welcome back to our story time. Today, we're diving into an amazing story
00:07about a super brave hero named Elisha. Imagine a long long time ago, in a land called Israel.
00:13The king was a man named Ahab, and let's just say he wasn't making very good choices.
00:18He and his queen Jezebel had convinced everyone to stop listening to the one true god,
00:23and instead pray to a statue called Baal. They believed Baal was the one who made the
00:28rainfall and the plants grow. But they were about to learn a very big lesson. One day,
00:33a brave man named Elisha marched right up to King Ahab. Now, King Ahab was a very powerful and
00:40sometimes grumpy king, so this was super courageous. Elisha looked the king in the eye and said,
00:46As the Lord, the God of Israel lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the
00:52next few
00:52years, except at my word. Whoa, can you imagine saying that to a king? Elijah was basically saying,
00:59Hey king, you think Baal controls the rain? Well, the one true God is in charge, and to prove it,
01:06he's going to turn off the water. This was a huge challenge. It was like a spiritual showdown,
01:12God versus Baal. Who do you think is going to win? King Ahab was not happy at all. He was
01:18probably
01:18fuming. Elijah's bold announcement meant big trouble was coming. No rain meant no water. No
01:25water meant no plants could grow. And no plants meant no food for the people or the animals.
01:30It was a very serious situation. All because the people had turned away from God. Now,
01:36because King Ahab was so angry, God knew Elijah needed a safe place to hide. So, God told Elijah,
01:43go east from here and hide in the Kirith ravine, east of the Jordan. You will drink from the brook,
01:49and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there. Ravens? Isn't that a little strange?
01:55Ravens are big, black birds, and they usually look for food for themselves. But God, in his amazing way,
02:02was going to use these birds to take care of his prophet. This shows us that God can use anything
02:07and anyone to help us, even in ways we'd never expect. So, Elijah did exactly what God told him
02:14to do. He was obedient. He traveled to the Kirith ravine and set up camp. It was probably a quiet,
02:20lonely place, with just the sound of the little brook bubbling by. And guess what happened? Every
02:26single morning and every single evening, just like God promised, ravens flew to Elijah. They brought him
02:33bread and meat to eat, and for water, he drank from the brook. Isn't that incredible? God was running a
02:39special delivery service just for Elijah, using birds as the delivery drivers. This part of the
02:45story is so cool because it shows how much God cares for those who trust him. Even when things seem
02:51scary and you feel all alone, God has a plan to take care of you. Elijah was in the middle
02:56of a huge
02:57national crisis he had started, but he wasn't worried. He was being fed by birds. He trusted
03:03God, and God provided for his every need. It's a powerful reminder that we can always rely on God's
03:09provision, no matter how tough things get. After three and a half long dry years, God finally spoke
03:15to Elijah again. It was time for the next part of the plan. God said, go and present yourself to
03:21Ahab,
03:22and I will send rain on the land. It was time for the final showdown. Elijah went to find King
03:28Ahab,
03:28and when Ahab saw Elijah, he was not happy. He growled, is that you, you troubler of Israel?
03:35But Elijah stood tall. He wasn't scared. He replied, I have not made trouble for Israel,
03:41but you and your father's family have. You have abandoned the Lord's commands and have followed the
03:46ball. Then Elijah laid down the ultimate challenge. He told Ahab to gather all the people
03:51of Israel on a mountain called Mount Carmel. And he told him to bring all 450 of his prophets of
03:57Baal. It was going to be a contest. God versus Baal, to see who was the real God who could
04:03send fire
04:04from heaven. After Elijah proved that the Lord is the one true God on Mount Carmel, he knew the rain
04:09was coming. He went to the top of the mountain, bowed down to the ground, and put his face between
04:15his
04:15knees. He began to pray. He prayed with all his heart for God to send the rain he had promised.
04:21He sent his servant to go look toward the sea. The servant went, looked, and came back.
04:27There is nothing there, he said. But Elijah didn't give up. He told his servant, go back.
04:33Seven times he told him to go and look. Elijah kept praying and kept believing.
04:38Finally, on the seventh time, the servant came back with exciting news. He said,
04:44A cloud as small as a man's hand is rising from the sea. That was it. That was the sign.
04:50Even though it was just a tiny cloud, Elijah knew God's promise was coming true. He told his servant
04:55to run and tell King Ahab to get in his chariot and go home before the rain stopped him. And
05:01soon,
05:01the sky grew black with clouds, the wind blew, and a heavy rain began to fall. The drought was over.
05:07After three and a half years, God sent the rain back to the land, just as he had promised through
05:13Elijah. Elijah's powerful prayers brought the rain. His faith, even when he only saw a tiny cloud,
05:20shows us how important it is to keep trusting God's promises, even when things look small at first.
05:26So what can we learn from the amazing life of Elijah? We learned that it's important to be brave
05:31and stand up for what is right. Just like Elijah did with King Ahab. We learned that God can provide
05:37for us in the most unexpected ways, like sending ravens with food. And we learned that faithful prayer
05:43is powerful and can change things. Just like when Elijah prayed for rain. Elijah's story is a fantastic
05:50reminder that our God is powerful, loving, and always faithful to his promises. Thanks so much for
