00:00Wonderful. So how did you get into this particular outlet, Scalabranium?
00:08They display the jobs. One of my friends told me. I was looking for the job.
00:12So one of my friends told me that they are looking for an aged care worker.
00:18So I applied for it. I got interviewed and then I got the job.
00:23Awesome. Awesome. And are you from Griffith originally?
00:25Yes.
00:26Awesome. So five years on from when you started, I'm sure you've learned a lot.
00:32Is every day different to the next?
00:34Yes, every day. It's different. So you come to know every different people.
00:40Like when they come in, they're different.
00:43But when you start responding to them or start dealing with them,
00:47there's a rapport developed between you and them like a resident.
00:51And then it's kind of a friend's relationship or just kind of a colleague or work with everybody.
01:00So it's just a different experience every time you come with the different people.
01:03Excellent. And then the other ladies mentioned, you know, to a point, it even feels a bit like family.
01:08It is a bit of a feel.
01:08Sometimes because sometimes they come to you and they address you as their daughters.
01:15So it feels like, yeah, it's a family thing.
01:18Excellent.
01:18Because they see us every day here.
01:20So they come to with everyday needs.
01:23So it feels like, yes, definitely like family.
01:25Excellent. And is that, would you say that's your favourite part of your job,
01:29that relationship with your clients, with your, with the residents that live here?
01:34Yes. So we keep looking, every time I get ready to come to work,
01:37I keep looking what we're going to do today.
01:39And what's going to happen today, who I'm going to meet,
01:43which section I'm going to work to.
01:44So it's very interesting to come to work.
01:47Excellent. And just one last question before I let you go.
01:50Sure.
01:51What's your advice to people who are maybe looking to go into the sort of work that you do?
01:57Especially young people.
01:58Yes, I think they should come.
02:00It's an experience for them to do different and versatile activities every day.
02:08So they get to know and communication skills get improved.
02:12But here is mostly Italian community.
02:15So I didn't know much Italian.
02:17I don't know much of that.
02:19But every day to day things, they say the words they say.
02:23I get to learn.
02:24So I feel that I accomplished that.
02:27Something I accomplished from them as well.
02:29So they are supporting me as well.
02:31And plus, when they deal with them, that they're daring every day to day activity,
02:37the shower and all that stuff.
02:38So it's, I think, kind of a different and very good experience that everybody should have.
02:45And they can understand how they, how can we support every elderly person,
02:53not over here, but even outside in the community as well.
02:56It's an experience they can get knowledge from.
