00:00The important thing about hospitals is simple, safety and good outcomes.
00:05And I know the proposals around emergency services at Withybush have caused real concern locally.
00:10People want to know what it means for them and their families.
00:14But the reality is that recruiting and retaining enough specialist staff in rural areas like West Wales is becoming harder.
00:22And that's not unique to us. It's happening across the UK and across Europe.
00:27And it means that we have to plan properly for the future of hospital services locally.
00:32Because modern health care isn't just about keeping buildings going.
00:37That's why Welsh Labour is committing £4 billion to build the hospitals of the future across Wales.
00:44And you know what? That includes backing a major new hospital development in West Wales.
00:50Because for more than a decade of Tory austerity, the funding simply wasn't there to build a brand new hospital.
00:57But now things are different. With the UK Labour government, the capital funding taps are switched back on.
01:04For the first time in years, we can plan properly for the future.
01:08A modern hospital for West Wales. Safer services.
01:12Better facilities for staff.
01:14And a health care local people can rely on for generations to come.
01:18And a health care local health care nurses.
01:19Safer services.
