09:06So jet fuel, gasoline, diesel
09:08And so the closing of this strait
09:10Is essentially causing a roadblock
09:13From all of this crude
09:15Getting to the global market
09:16A lot heads into Asia from the crude perspective
09:19But jet fuel, a lot goes into Europe
09:21And so there's many different areas
09:23And many different commodities
09:25That are being affected by this
09:28It's not clear to me
09:29What is actually happening on the floor
09:32In that area
09:34I mean, it's clear that the trap
09:36The flow is near a halt
09:39But it's not clear to me
09:40If Iran has literally closed the strait or not
09:45Right, that's the thing, Stefania
09:47Iran has not closed the strait
09:50It has threatened to
09:52But the reason that the tankers have halted
09:55And the cargo ships
09:56Is simply because of the threat
09:58Of them being hit with a missile
10:00Or a drone strike
10:01That has been enough
10:03For them to be deterred
10:04And you have insurance companies
10:06That are saying
10:07We are not going to ensure you
10:09To pass through the strait
10:10Unless you pay a war premium
10:12And that is an exorbitant amount
10:14And so that has been enough
10:15This threat
10:16To basically grind this traffic to a halt
10:19And this leads me to the next question
10:23Regarding Trump's promise on two fronts
10:27On one hand to offer insurance
10:30At a reasonable price, he said
10:33The other one is, if necessary
10:36To escort tankers in the strait
10:40What do you think about this plan?
10:42It's doable
10:43And if yes
10:45What is the time frame?
10:48We don't think that is a viable option
10:50They can put a naval convoy in place
10:53They can promise the insurance
10:54But that is little comfort to a tanker
10:57Or a cargo ship
10:58If it is going to be struck by a missile
11:00And so we do not believe
11:01That we're going to see traffic picking up
11:03In any meaningful way
11:05Until the conflict with Iran
11:07Reaches a conclusion
11:09Yeah, I'm not an expert
11:11But I was thinking
11:12How can you escort a tanker?
11:15Are you going to place
11:16Like a missile defense system on it
11:18So that it cannot be hit
11:20By missiles coming from Iran?
11:23Well, it's basically like
11:25Police cars, an escort, right?
11:27But in the ship form
11:28But that's not going to deter
11:30A missile or a drone strike
11:33From hitting one of these tankers
11:35And so there just isn't a simple way
11:37To be able to police the strait
11:38The strait is about 20 miles wide
11:41At its narrowest point
11:42And it's just not possible here
11:44To provide these assurances
11:46And promises
11:47That a tanker won't get hit
11:49So which countries or regions
11:52Are the most impacted
11:53By the, let's say, closure
11:55Of the straits?
11:57And also I'm thinking about China
11:58Which relies on Iranian oil
12:01And it's telling its refineries
12:05Please stop exporting fuel
12:07Because we need to keep it for ourselves
12:09Yes, absolutely
12:11So in terms of crude exports
12:1490% of the crude that passes
12:17Through the strait of Hormuz
12:18Goes to Asia
12:19And so China gets about half
12:21Of its crude imports
12:22From the Middle East
12:23That's 5 million barrels per day
12:25So as you mentioned
12:26You've got China
12:27That is basically stopping
12:29Products exports
12:30To keep those at home
12:31You're having a number
12:32Of different refiners in Asia
12:35That are cutting back on runs there
12:36And so you have all manner
12:38Of countries impacted
12:39India is possibly the most impacted
12:41Because while China
12:43Has a lot in inventories
12:44It has about 1.2 billion barrels there
12:47India has about 100 million
12:49And so they basically
12:50Only have sort of 20 days cover
12:53For their imports
12:53And so they are very much
12:55Beholden to these flows
12:57And they are the ones
12:58One of these countries
12:58That are going to be in trouble
13:00If the strait of Hormuz
13:01Remains closed for any long time here
13:04I thought it was interesting
13:06That Saudi Aramco
13:08The Saudi oil company
13:11Is rerouting its oil
13:13To the Red Sea
13:15The opposite side of the country
13:17In order to bypass
13:19The strait of Hormuz
13:21Again, what is the timing?
13:24Is it a doable option for them?
13:27Yes, it is
13:28And actually this pipeline
13:29That's in place
13:30It has capacity of 7 million barrels a day
13:32So that will cover
13:33What they are typically exporting
13:35And more out of the
13:37Mid-East Gulf there
13:38And so it is a solution
13:40This pipeline was built
13:41The east-west pipeline
13:43Essentially for this exact reason
13:45If the strait of Hormuz
13:46Was going to be closed
13:47In terms of the exports
13:49We have been seeing them
13:51Really starting to pick up
13:52In recent days
13:53Out of Yanbu
13:54Which is in the Red Sea
13:56There on the western side of Saudi
13:58And so they are in
13:59A fortunate situation
14:00In that they have the ability
14:02To be able to export
14:03These barrels
14:04Whereas like Kuwait
14:06And parts of UAE
14:08Even Iran
14:09You know
14:09Have to pass through
14:10The strait of Hormuz
14:11The one challenge
14:12That the Saudis
14:14Are going to face
14:14If they are loading
14:16VLCCs
14:16And sending them south
14:17Is that they are going
14:18To have to exit
14:19The Red Sea
14:20Going via
14:20Bab al-Mendeb
14:21And then there becomes
14:22The threat of the Houthis
14:24Having pop shots at them
14:26And so we are talking
14:27About Yemen
