00:00And I think it's fascinating to remember what happened at the end of the year.
00:05And I'm not talking about the final play of offensive play of the season against the Rams.
00:11I'm talking about they beat the Green Bay Packers in a playoff game that they would not have won
00:17had D.J. Moore not been a crucial element and impact to that game.
00:25D.J. Moore meant a lot to the Chicago Bears, and certainly fans reacted yesterday the way you would expect
00:31because they will miss him, and they should.
00:34He was a very big part of this organization during his time as a Bear.
00:39He represented the organization proudly, whether it was on or off the field.
00:43We were privileged to have him every week as a guest for a couple seasons.
00:46He was the consummate pro, never late.
00:49Never missed a game.
00:51I love that about him.
00:52But from the football perspective, it is a cold, cruel business.
00:56And those things are set aside.
00:58Those moments are temporarily forgotten, or they don't outweigh what you need to do to get better in 2026.
01:06And I think that when you look at his salary, you're exactly right.
01:09It was not something that you could have and move forward.
01:12You had to dump his salary.
01:14What's remarkable about saying that, to me, is that everybody in the league knew that.
01:19You had to do that, and they still got a second-round draft pick in return.
