00:00When you think about the fact that B.J. Moore was only a member of the Chicago Bears for three
00:06seasons,
00:07but he will definitively go down as a Bears legend, as a Chicago sports legend in a number of ways,
00:14largely in the most statistically insignificant season of his career, but he had so many major moments.
00:23And when you consider him joining the Bears, coming off the heels of just it feeling like,
00:30aside from what, maybe Allen Robinson, like the Bears were in this desert of offensive playmakers for so many years,
00:38where there was, you know, trying to figure out, like, is Mitch good?
00:41It's hard to tell because he doesn't have anybody to make plays for him on offense.
00:46And then Justin Fields being the only legitimate electrifying talent that they had on offense,
00:53he could score a touchdown at a moment's notice, but no one else could until they trade for D.J.
01:00Moore
01:00in that very first preseason game.
01:03I was out there in Soldier Field and just watching him catch that screen pass,
01:07and then it was off to the races.
01:09And there was, like, this collective cheer that was also coupled with this collective exhale
01:14because there was the feeling that the Bears finally had somebody else
01:20who could make a play on the offensive side of the football,
01:23something that didn't have to be schemed wide open,
01:26something that didn't have to be some defender running into a teammate.
01:30It could just be the Bears having a playmaker who the other opponents couldn't handle.
01:36That was D.J. Moore, and he provided that for three seasons here in Chicago.
01:40And now this past season, he got the opportunity to do it.
01:43And he enjoyed so many moments of being on a team that won at a high level.
01:49It was fun to watch that.
01:50And I feel good for D.J. Moore that I imagine the situation he goes into
01:54will be another positive one with a winner for him.
01:57But, yeah, I echo a lot of the sentiments that you guys had there,
02:00where the trade makes sense in a lot of ways was necessary to continue to build on
02:05what the Bears just did this past season.
02:07But it can be met with a tinge of, you know, sort of a, I guess,
02:12a tinge of sadness to a certain extent because it would have been fun to watch
02:16D.J. Moore continue to mature and develop with this team if it made sense.
02:21But this makes more sense.
