Six individuals — including a wheelchair-bound man and the victim's own wife — have been charged in connection with the robbery of a Pakistani businessman in Pasir Gudang last month.

The case was heard across multiple courts in Johor Baru on Friday (March 6).

00:08over the robbery of a Pakistani businessman in Pasir Gudang last month. The alleged incident
00:14took place at a parking area behind a bank at the Pasir Gudang Trade Center on February 24th,
00:20with the businessman robbed of 500,000 ringgit in cash. In the session's court,
00:26paralyzed 30-year-old Muhammad Rashid Ismail and 53-year-old Shamim Begum Abdul Syed,
00:33the victim's wife, were jointly charged with conspiracy to commit gang robbery. Shamim
00:39Begum pleaded guilty while Muhammad Rashid claimed trial. Both were granted bail of 12,000 ringgit each.
00:47Three other men, Emirul Azim Samad, Muhammad Shukri Muhammad Yusuf and Abdul Rahman Abdul Rahim,
00:53also claimed trial in a separate session's court to charges linked to the same robbery,
00:59including gang robbery and dishonestly receiving stolen property. All three had their passports
01:05seized. A sixth accused, Muhammad Taufik Muhammad Jamil, faced a separate magistrate's court charge
01:11for possession of an imitation firearm found at an office in Tampoi. He too pleaded not guilty.
01:18All six face up to 20 years in jail if convicted.
