00:00Dwight York's entry as head coach was welcomed by many.
00:04He was the captain of the national team that took them to the 2006 World Cup.
00:09Had he done so as coach, he would have done something distinct from his other teammates
00:13that took part in the 2006 World Cup.
00:17Now, York joins Dennis Lawrence and Angus Eve as previous players from that era that
00:23tried but couldn't quite replicate what Leo Benhaka accomplished.
00:27Is a foreign coach the only answer to getting TNT's footballers to another World Cup?
00:32We'll be next.
00:34No word has been given on his support staff, inclusive of Russell Latipi.
00:38Could he be the next head coach or does the end of York mean the end of Latipi as well?
00:44A release from the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association stated, quote,
00:48The association will, in due course, announce the appointment of a head coach to lead the
00:53team in preparation for the upcoming international friendly against Bolivia on March 15th as
00:58well as participation in the upcoming FIFA series to be held in Uzbekistan, end quote.
01:04While missing the qualification mark, York's statistics in charge was not terrible enough
01:09for the TTFA to dismiss him as a future coach.
01:13They indicated, quote, The association maintains a professional and respectful relationship with
01:18Mr. York, and the door is not closed to future dialogue, end quote.
01:23The organization stated that subsequent discussions were held between the TTFA and Mr. York regarding
01:29the future of the role, including revised contractual terms and remuneration aligned to the next phase
01:37of the program.
01:38After these discussions, both parties were unable to reach agreement on the proposed terms at this
01:44time and it was mutually decided to part ways.
01:48York leaves, having coached TNT in 13 competitive matches, with 4 wins, 6 draws and 3 defeats.
01:55He leaves with TNT back in the top 100 FIFA teams at 97th, thanking all who supported his journey.
02:02But was he ready to say goodbye to the head coach position?
02:06In a report on Wired868, he stated, quote,
02:16What about you?
02:18Would you have liked to see your continue leading TNT?
02:21Or is it time for a new coach to step in?
02:24Sergio Dufour, TV6 Sport.
02:26Interpatient health.
02:26Very pleased.
