08:58I love planting different flowers. It's just kind of a little getaway from the house and all the indoor chores
09:06We had a two-month-old baby at home, very colicky, didn't sleep, and you know, just very sleep-deprived

09:17I had my golf cart carrying all my supplies and I went to go move a bag of potting soil

14:11A camera in Florida catches something odd.
14:18It was pretty much a normal day at work. I got home, I started cooking dinner and our son,
14:25who was three at the time, dropped an eggshell on the ground and I bent over to pick it up
14:29and
14:29that's when I just had this extreme sharp pain and it sent me to the ground. My back problem
14:35was nonexistent until that moment in time.
14:44I just hear this loud like scream like I thought someone died and I hear a loud thud and I
14:49go in
14:50there and he's just on the ground in pain. My son, he was completely confused, did not know what was
14:55going on, just screaming. I went into practical mode. I was just like let's get to the hospital
15:05and so at first, you know, I tried different things. I tried getting my son's stroller and I
15:09tried to put him in the stroller. I was absolutely screaming in my pants. Yeah,
15:13there was no way I was fitting in the stroller. It just wasn't going to happen.
15:16And so finally, I just, I saw my son's like blanket on the ground. I was like,
15:19you know what, I'm going to roll you onto this blanket and then just drag you out.
15:26There was a lot of comments like, why didn't you call an ambulance?
15:30I don't have money for that. Who has money for an ambulance?
15:36One, two. I think we were more worried about like what the neighbors would think.
15:41We just moved to this new neighborhood and they're going to see me dragging out
15:45this body out the front door.
15:51Logistically, that's when the nightmare started because we had to figure out how to get me into
15:56the back of the truck. So then we got a medicine ball. What we ultimately decided to do was use
16:02it as a ramp as Lacey pushed my body over so that I could sit on top of the ball
16:08inside of the truck.
16:09When we were putting him into the truck, I just thought it was hilarious. I thought if anyone was
16:13watching us, we'd look like we're crazy people. It's absolutely not dignifying at all. I was
16:19humiliated. I'm like, see, this is why you should work out. You know, he hates when I say that.
16:23As we were driving to the hospital, every single curve and bump, I felt it all. And it felt like
16:30it was an eternity to go three miles. At the hospital, you can't sit down in the wheelchair.
16:36And so he just lays forward on the wheelchair. They did scans on my lower back. And then they said,
16:42unfortunately, you have herniated two discs in your back. They let me know that I needed to go
16:48see a specialist and that it would require PT and possibly further medical diagnosis.
16:54I would say I'm about 90 to 95% better now. I have started working out. My wife, I have
17:01to thank
17:02for that. Thank you. And his life is completely better now that he works out. And it absolutely
17:07is better. So always listen to your wife. That's the lesson of the day.
