Transcript
00:00How do you get Elijah's confidence back?
00:03I mean, we just can't turn the ball over.
00:05You know, it's a learning curve for him.
00:09We're trying to balance his minutes and teaching him on the fly.
00:12It's super difficult, you know, because he missed all the summer.
00:16He missed the first half of Big Ten, and he's a reclassification.
00:19He's an incredible talent who's got an awesome ceiling,
00:24and he's got an incredible future.
00:28But, you know, in a game like tonight, like he's learning.
00:30I mean, you can see it out there that, you know, he's learning on the fly,
00:34and he's as talented as anybody out there.
00:37But it's a process when you don't – he doesn't have the whole summer.
00:42He doesn't have non-conference play.
00:44And so, you know, we're asking him to do a lot for sure.
00:48Does it feel like you know, there's confidence within the season?
00:51I don't think – I think he's super confident.
00:53I don't think there's any confidence at all.
00:57Like I said, I think, you know, when you haven't played against a level of competition
01:01like UCLA and like their defense and jumping in passing lanes
01:05and them focused on the ball and them swarming two guys.
01:08I mean, it's a different level for any player that's a freshman.
01:12What is it, a seventh game or whatever?
01:14Like it's – for most of the kids, it's a seventh game with non-conference play.
