SURFER PASSES A SHARK WHILE CATCHING A WAVE
WITH VID
BY SALONI MATHUR
Watch this incredible drone footage of a surfer catching a wave right next to a shark.
Captured by Lexo Aveleyra at Windmills Beach, near Cape Naturaliste, Australia, the video shows a bronze whaler shark swimming close to a surfer.
The surfer was lined up for a wave, and as he committed and dropped in, he rode straight toward the shark, passing within what looked like just over a metre.
They crossed paths for a brief moment, both completely at ease in the crystal-clear water.
The shark showed no interest, continuing on its way.
Lexo said: “I was scouting the area flying my drone when I spotted the bronze whaler shark, approximately 2 to 2.5 metres long.
“The distance between the shark and surfer when the surfer rode the wave past the marine animal was quite small. They were very, very close.
“I love how the video shows two creatures in their natural element, connected only by the rhythm and movement of the sea.”
