Windsurfer encounters bull shark

Footage of a windsurfer encountering a bull shark off the coast of Florida, USA.

The video, filmed off Stuart on April 3, features the windsurfer climbing off his board after his fin hit sand in the shallows.

He then "heard an unusual noise in the water" and spotted a bull shark heading right towards him.

"I backed away as fast as I could, and captured some video with my helmet cam as he passed by," the filmer wrote online.

"The noise I heard was water swishing off the sharks tail as he propelled himself over the sand bar."

"I found out that bull sharks are best known for there very aggressive behavior," he continued.

"They like warm shallow water, and they will eat just about anything."
