00:00News to get to today. Adam is with us all show long. Excellent pullover, by the way,
00:03the little Masters pullover by Adam. I love it. We'll get to Brian Dable and that hiring by the
00:09Titans. Mike McCarthy being introduced by the Steelers. That's coming right in just a little
00:12bit. Dan, Mina, Marcus here. Marcus, what do you think of Buffalo hiring Joe Brady as their new
00:17head coach? Lineman because you didn't score that touchdown without them. And so this is a small
00:23margin of error in Buffalo to get better than Sean McDermott. To me, do feel a bit like
00:28scapegoating Sean McDermott, which, you know, he's the kind of the odd man out here. But I do
00:34understand the desire. Do you like this fit? Oh, I really like the fit. Kind of to the points that
00:39Shefty and you made. One, I like the fact that Salah. Getting him to become a more disciplined
00:44quarterback in that process as well. And then, of course, the QB run element. Then in New York,
00:50Daniel. Hey, so a lot of interesting in there. And we'll get to all of it. Play caller. He's spoken
00:55to Aaron Rodgers. Marcus, I'll come to you first. You think Rodgers coming back to Pittsburgh would
01:00be the same? Going younger at quarterback, trying to bring in maybe a new offensive mind and trusting
01:06that McCarthy could oversee. To bring you that coverage. And we now bring in Jeff Saturday for
01:10more on this. And Jeff, for years, the city of Indianapolis has hosted the NFL Combine. Now it
01:15will be the site of the flag championships. What do you make of how the NFL has gotten behind flag
01:20football? I'm super fired up. I mean, think of that championship. Man, Indianapolis is hitting
01:25it big right now. And congrats to them. And congrats to flag football in 2026. I love it. I love
01:30too,
01:31the way that it's allowed girls to get involved in the game. Just really special, Jeff. And take a
01:35look at the regional tournaments that will be Jeff back in here. Jeff, you like the Joe Brady hire for
01:39the bills? I do. I'll be honest with you. I wouldn't, I wouldn't overly surprised by this one. I think
01:44when you making sure whoever's DC is going to be, who is offensive coordinator is going to be,
01:48because even if he's calling plays, somebody has to come in for install. I worked with Mike
01:53McCarthy and Aaron Rogers, my final year in football, when he was the head coach and the
01:58play caller, but Tom Clements basically installed everything. So finding the right fit for that,
02:03all of those things are going to have to be situated here in the next few weeks to get this
02:07thing off and running for OTAs, which are just right around the corner. Yeah. And as Adam Schefter's
02:11reported throughout all of this, we've heard other people talk about this as well. Josh Allen,
02:16a big part of all the coach interviews, a lot of the behind the scenes, ultimately didn't make
02:20the final decision, but we know that that relationship was a big piece of this. Thanks
02:23so much, Jeff. Absolutely. Have a great one. Dan, how should Stefanski approach this quarterback
02:28position in Atlanta? Try to get Kirk Cousins. Yeah. Michael Penix is. Yeah. Marcus, what does
02:33McDaniel need to change in order to get the best out of Justin Herbert? Well, look, I'll let Dan talk
02:40about horizontal motion and pre-snap motion and all of them. It's amazing. I mean, that starts with
02:44the top, right? The Kraft family wants that type of care throughout their organization, and we're
02:48seeing why they continue to be so great. Thanks so much to Mike Reese for the latest there. And it's
02:53interesting, Dan, because you heard some of that there from the players, but it's been documented that
02:58Rabel had to sort of make himself a little bit vulnerable with these guys, so they felt comfortable.
03:03A leader of men comes into the fold here, and the culture shift happens. What do you make of that?
03:08Yeah, it just feels very early 2000s Patriots. The game in the AFC title game felt that way,
03:13certainly against Houston as well. Set Joe Brady up for success. What do they need to do?
03:20There's issues with this roster, guys, and I don't want to be a broken record on the GM. The way
03:27that
03:27they did, they've got to make a change, right? Joe Brady was already in the organization, but certainly
03:32will be different than Sean McDermott was. We've got more NFL Live for you all week long. Don't miss it.
03:37We'll see you tomorrow. SportsCenter is next.
03:41To get into on this Friday, glad you're with us today. Mina, R.C. Swagu here for the hour. Mina,
03:46I'll start with you. What's your reaction to this news?
03:50Whether that's fair, I don't think that's fair. I think it is fair, however, to criticize the draft
03:56classes. These draft picks not landing or not being productive under Adolfo Mensah, but it's
04:03obviously pinpointed and centering around J.J. McCarthy. When you look at this team, you go from
04:0914 and three. You're a team that's a body of work, and now we sit here with Sam Dorner being
04:14in the
04:14Super Bowl. To go from a 14-win team to- Mina, I know you talk to a lot of
04:20these GMs, and you deal in
04:21analytics with a lot of these departments. Missing piece here, or at least there's going to be more
04:27information out of that, but of course, Kwesi is the GM, so ultimately he does bear responsibility.
04:31Go ahead, Swag. As the organization said, the question probably that they ask themselves is,
04:39can we win a Super Bowl? We see that we can have a really good play to analytics. Go ahead,
04:43go ahead,
04:44R.C. No, but what we're seeing of chances to win. It's the general manager's job to hit in many
04:50positions in many ways.
04:51It was a full fail, and I think it had more to do with the quarterback competence than it did
04:56with
04:56the roster. Mina, using defense. I really think that, and I would compare him to Minnesota as well,
05:05and has also struck out a lot in the draft, and they're getting this offense back on track. It's
05:10dealing with what it's like to be the OC of the Philadelphia Eagles, that fan base, what you may deal
05:15with. What do you think of this hire? I'm thinking is a good thing if you're Philadelphia,
05:19because we saw last season what happened when they just went internally with Sirianni's friend.
05:24Yeah, I'm glad that you brought up Josh Grisard, because I realize it didn't work out with Baker
05:28Mayfield in Tampa. They moved on, but I think he's a talented offensive mind and will bring a lot
05:32potentially to Jalen Hurts. Hurts, by the way, 200 fewer rushing yards and four fewer rushing
05:37touchdowns this season compared to last season. If they could get his legs going, the rush offense
05:41would look a little different, too. We're just getting started NFL Live on this Friday. Glad you're with us.
05:45Certainly, you guys, what he was able to do with the Bears and Caleb Williams in that season last
05:50year. Marcus, what do you think of this hire for Lamar Jackson and company?
05:55Hmm, I love this hire. One, he's coming from who we regard as one.
06:00Yeah, share a lot of those sentiments. First of all, I had to get over the fact that I saw
06:04he's 29 years old, which makes me just like crawl into the ocean. That's crazy, right?
06:09That's impossible. How are we so old, guys? I think Lamar had a hand here. You got a defensive
06:15head coach. This isn't a guy coming. I mean, this is about as far off.
06:18...heel in New Orleans. You saw the same thing with Bo Nix, who was drafted late when he...
06:23The Bears were one of five offenses this season, the ranked top 10 in pass yards and rush yards
06:28per game. Obviously, Ben Johnson and his run game had a big piece in that, but Declan Doyle
06:33is certainly a part of it. Also, just to confirm, we kind of just said it, but Lamar Jackson and
06:38Declan Doyle are the exact same age at 29 years old, which has now successfully made all of us feel
06:43like real old farts. They don't walk in the room like, what's happening, Woody?
06:47Current quarterback situation. Mina, is Munkin the right man for the job when you think about
06:51all that he's going to have to handle? And two, he knows how to call a hell of an offense.
06:58Yeah, I agree with that. Listen, it's going to be tough whoever takes over in...
07:03...on the field, but when you think about this Cleveland team, and that's his head coaching job
07:08in delegation and finding the right people to help this organization be better on the field.
07:13I think delegation is important, but there's also just so much to...
07:17Yeah, he said when he got the job, even he was talking about it this morning, that this was why
07:22he came back to the NFL. This was why he left Georgia, which was a really comfortable job for
07:26him. They were having a ton of success, but he wanted to be an NFL head coach, and this was
07:30the
07:30goal. This is an opportunity. I don't think he'll take it lightly, but yeah.
07:35Played for him. Like R.C. said, though, Cleveland is a juggernaut to try to get right makings to get
07:43guys on the right track. Definitely. A long way to go, so we'll keep track of that.
07:47How about this, though, you guys? We had to just get this in.
07:49For playing soccer. Yes, you. Athletic family, her boyfriend as well.
07:53Ben Shelton. Yeah. Ben Shelton, this is going to be a dope.
07:57What's going on in the game? Oh, it was just so good. She's like, listen, let me hit this.
08:02And they're like, we know we're going to score, so we're going to be hitting this.
08:05All right, still to come. The Falcons have a move in his legs to make plays all season.
08:10He's done it in the postseason as well. How can Seattle try to slow down that part of his game?
08:14The personnel that Seattle has, I think they can get a lot accomplished in that vein.
08:21Yeah, I think you're smart to mention the defensive tackles, because we know that's
08:24between the Patriots receivers and the Seattle DBs are going to be massive.
08:28Yes, this is the worst show in the world to be third on, but it's okay. I'll go.
08:33You drew the short straw this segment all the way from the Super Bowl. On a Sunday, we've got an
08:38action-packed show full of Pro Bowl and Super Bowl previews.
08:41Browns Pro Bowl corner Denzel Ward joining us in just a few moments, live from San Francisco.
08:46We will talk with him. We also have sit-down interviews with both Super Bowl quarterbacks, Drake May and Sam
08:51Darnold.
08:51You hear their stories, their journeys to this point.
08:54Plus, the best soundtracks from biked-up players at the Pro Bowl, all of that inside scoop.
08:58You don't want to miss that. It's coming your way for an hour here on NFL Live.
09:02It's fun to see you guys on a morning Sunday. Come on.
09:05I actually don't know what anyone's going to say today, because I can't trust you guys at a different time.
09:10Dan, RC, Swaggoo's got the wave going.
09:13And as I said, the Super Bowl is a week away, but the Pro Bowl is before that.
09:18What are we doing?
09:18I don't know.
09:19What are we doing right now?
09:20We're going to do it, though.
09:22We know that format has changed a lot in the Pro Bowl.
09:25We'll kind of see how all this shakes out right when we see it on the field.
09:28But do you think being selected for the Pro Bowl, Swaggoo, is still important to the players?
09:33You heard what Denzel just said there.
09:37Yeah, I believe it is.
09:38It still resembles.
09:39Thanks so much, guys.
09:41That don't get me off you, though.
09:41Yeah, no, it's not.
09:43Swaggoo don't care.
09:43We're just getting started on NFL Live.
09:45Glad you're with us on this Sunday.
09:47The Patriots are super.
09:50What I take from him speaking with Kimberly Martin is the fact that not just as a football
09:57player, as a leader, and as a clutch man of the moment.
10:00And he'll need that again against the Seattle Seahawks.
10:04Yeah, I think the thing that really stands out there, too, we got a chance to see some
10:08big man balling out there in the seven-on-seven format.
10:12What's it like for a big fella to show off to a Super Bowl before?
10:15He was Brock Purdy's backup with San Francisco.
10:18You may have also forgotten that Sam Darnold was already having stents with the Jets, Panthers,
10:23and Vikings before this season's magic carpet ride with the Seahawks.
10:27Here's Alex Smith with Sam Darnold, who has now definitely erased the bad memories since
10:322018.
10:33And I think the resolve and the confidence that he's been playing with since actually leaving
10:38Minnesota on to now is the reason why he finds himself in the Super Bowl.
10:43Guys, Sam was the third pick at the end of...
10:45Defensively.
10:46RC, what are you most excited to get into this week with this matchup?
10:51Well, it's going to be no surprise that I want to talk about...
11:16Let's get to this one.
