Her warning carries the weight of history — and the urgency to stop hatred before it grows.

🕊️ “Fascism and Nazism start very slowly,
I would say almost unnoticeably.
A joke here, a slur there.
In Germany it was singing in pubs.
However, it begins with singing in pubs,
and very soon it ends
with the gas chambers in Auschwitz.
The road is not long.
I therefore think, that we must be very wary,
and recognize every sign
that might lead fascism or Nazism,
because we already know
where it can lead.”

These are the words of Evelina Merová, the Czech-born Holocaust survivor.
Her story — from Prague and Theresienstadt, through Auschwitz to liberation — reminds us that indifference lets hatred grow, and vigilance is how we protect humanity.

00:03Fascism and Nazism
00:05Fascism and Nazism start very slowly.
00:11As I would say, I don't see it anywhere.
00:15There are some memories, some shits.
00:20It was a song in the shops, but it starts with a song in the shops.
00:35And very soon it ends up with a plan.
00:43The journey is not long.
00:45That's why I think I have to pay attention to every thing that reminds fascism or Nazism.
01:03Because we already know where we can bring it.
01:15It depends on the story on S.T.V.
01:15B.
