00:00So we've seen sort of a few headlines, you know, talks have been intense, serious, positive, some have not been
00:07so positive.
00:08What do we know, you know, the scenario is? We're also hearing that the sort of military action side is
00:14still being considered, of course.
00:15Yeah, Heidi, I mean, look, the reporting that's come out is that the U.S. was a bit disappointed with,
00:21and this is unsourced and not much more to it,
00:25but they've been a bit disappointed. But as you said, Oman, which is mediating the talks, and the Iranians are
00:31sort of more upbeat.
00:32There's going to be technical discussions next week, but bear in mind next week is sort of when the deadline
00:37President Trump sent a week ago.
00:39That's due to expire at some time next week. Now, how much that, how significant that is, we really, we're
00:45really not clear at the moment.
00:47But it's sort of, it's almost a, it's a strange situation how they're talking there.
00:51The U.S. has very, very sort of strict demands. It wants Iran to remove its enriched uranium, potentially to
01:00the U.S.
01:00It wants it to destroy its nuclear facilities and no sunset courses on any deals.
01:04And it's only going to offer limited sanctions relief in response to that.
01:08Iran's basically saying that it's not going to give up any of its enriched uranium or any of those things,
01:12and it has a right to an industry.
01:13So it's almost like they're talking at cross purposes to some extent.
01:21President Trump is seeming to claim that it could be an easy win, perhaps another quick operation in Iran like
01:27he saw in Venezuela.
01:29What are ANNES saying? Because we're seeing this massive buildup of the military forces around Iran already.
01:37Yeah, Sherry, it's a, it's a really good point, because I think it's very difficult to say it'll be easy.
01:41Bloomberg's done some really nice reporting with satellite images that just shows that Iran seems to have been doing quite
01:47a bit of dispersing of its facilities,
01:50reinforcing the structures, and how much damage was done in June is really unknown, because a lot of that was
01:56underground.
01:56But as you say, the U.S. is, you know, reinforcing its military, you know, equipment that's available there, including,
02:05you know, these new kamikaze drones that they have as well.
02:08So, yeah, it's, it's, it's just, it's really, really difficult to see how it'll play out.
02:13It looks like there will be strikes, but what the end game there is, is difficult.
02:17And Iran just seems to be, seems to be sort of talking around it as though that they, they, they
02:22can perhaps call the U.S.'s bluff.
02:23Now, I've seen it before that, that some of these Middle East regimes don't quite get, you know, how Western
02:28policy works,
02:29but it does look like we're on track for strikes, but, but to what end and how much can be
02:34done just from the air is really the question that remains to be answered.
