00:00Before Easter, we won't be money before Easter. We won't be money before Easter. No, no, no. Right away.
00:14We were given a thousand dollars food voucher with the promise from the chief sec himself,
00:23hold this until we decide how much money to give you.
00:30As of this date, none of us received a single cent concerning compensation for losses and damages.
00:41Mr. McClatchy said he was told to pay to have his outstanding payments accelerated.
00:48I have been asked for money in which I gave to the head of the authority in order for my
00:59check to go through.
01:01And I'm told when I do get the check, they would like to get a cut. And I have proof
01:06of it.
01:08Our chief sec came here and he spoke to us about six to seven months ago
01:13and promised us in two weeks to three weeks, certain things would have been organized.
01:18He took down about approximately 12 to 13 names. And out of those 12 to 13 names, up to this
01:25day,
01:25one person, one individual has been compensated. Right? So we come here today to ask for compensation.
01:33They say everything approved, pay with a little bit. My money is 24,000. I just want that.
01:40I don't want nothing more. You have people in town, Kastara, come straight around Plymouth.
01:46Get money. So I want to Lambo people. And it affects me the most.
01:54Everybody all over Plymouth was compensated besides Lambo vendors.
01:58You telling me.
01:58Lambo vendors can get nothing. Only one person.
02:01Nothing. I want me money. No, Mr. Farley. You understand?
02:05To Mr. Clark, you is the representative for the area.
02:11Since the oil spill, we never heard you come out one day and represent us.
02:16This is what Chief Secretary Farley Augustine said on the campaign trail to fishermen last year.
02:22And we only have two groups of people still to be paid. And the chief administrator has given me the
02:30assurance that before the new year, we will have every single cent for that oil spill operation completely cleared.
02:41We, the Tobago House of Assembly, will recognize those of you who have been informally plying your trade and who
02:47were, in fact, impacted by the oil spill.
02:50And we are saying we are going to pay you.
02:52And we're making a commitment to get those funds to you before the end of this year.
02:58Elizabeth Williams, TV6 News.
03:00I'm not in in here.
