00:00New York Jets and Tennessee Titans, so two of the worst teams in football, last year made a trade, kind
00:05of a salary dump for the Jets, as they trade Jermaine Johnson to the Tennessee Titans.
00:10They reunite Jermaine Johnson with Robert Sala. He's in the last year of his rookie contract, a fifth-year option,
00:16making either $13 or $15 million.
00:19And in return, they get defensive tackle Tavondre Sweat. If you've never heard of Tavondre Sweat, that dude is a
00:28beast.
00:28He's like two men. He's a great run-stopper. He's an interior defensive lineman. He's got two more years to
00:36go in his contract, so the Jets get more cap space, and they get a guy that kind of replaces
00:42Quentin Williams as their run-stopper.
00:45I think it's a good trade for both teams. It gives the Titans an outside edge rusher, Jermaine Johnson, in
00:51the last year of a deal, so if it doesn't pan out, there's no cap deal for them moving forward.
00:56And the New York Jets get a great, not a good, I think he's a great interior lineman, specifically against
01:03the run.
01:04They call him double-wide in Tennessee. He's like a 420-pound mountain of a man.
01:10Yeah, he's not going to show up on the stat sheet, but he eats up the blockers that way and
01:14everyone else around him.
01:15What's interesting about this is, apparently, Johnson wanted out during the season once Sauce and Quentin got traded.
01:23Well, they almost had a deal with the Niners last year. San Francisco offered the Jets a third-round pick,
01:28and that's when Salah was there.
01:30Salah loves the kid. Sorry.
01:31Yeah, but apparently he wanted out, and the question's going to be for Aaron Glenn or whoever coaches after Aaron
01:38Glenn with all these assets
01:39and kind of getting rid of the guys that's sort of underachieved in a way as far as on-field
01:43production,
01:44does this lead to kind of the new era with the Jets, and that's going to be something to watch.
01:49Yeah, by the way, I think it's a good deal. They save money, so it's like, I think another 7
01:53or 8 million bucks they have now for the cap.
01:56They've already got 90 million, so they've got 100 million bucks now in cap space.
02:00They've got a guy that is a very specific player. He stops the run.
02:03Yep, that's his role.
02:04Yeah, now it means the Jets, obviously, you know, do they go after the best defensive end now in the
02:09draft?
02:10Or best defensive player, period.
02:11Do they go after the safety? Everyone's crazy now.
02:13Downs. I don't think so now.
02:15I think now this means Reese from Ohio State. Still another Ohio State player.
02:19I feel like it's, I'd be shocked if he's not the number two.
02:22Okay, so it gives them some optionality now with what they do.
02:26I think it's 100% a defensive pick for them.
02:29And again, two bad teams making a trade normally doesn't, you know, Warren, I was talking about it,
02:33but A, I'm a Jet fan. B, they're both starters.
