00:00Right. I mean, according to the polls I've looked at, President Trump's approval rating looks like it's hovering around the
00:0740 percent mark.
00:08Perhaps you've seen some different polls. If you have, let me know.
00:12Is that something to be worried about for the GOP going into these midterms?
00:16Well, there's good polls and bad polls. And the average right now is around 42, 43 percent for the president.
00:22And his normal watermark is about 45. So we're within range of that.
00:28I think the important thing going into these midterms is not necessarily where he is here, but where is those
00:34image ratings and that job approval going to be in the mid to late summer?
00:39Once voters have begun to feel some of the in their own lives, the economic benefits that are coming their
00:46way.
00:46I think for Republicans, it's also about making sure that the base who is still very foursquare behind the president
00:56is energized going into these elections.
00:59So a lot of what you heard last night was not just about talking to those middle who aren't unsure,
01:05maybe unsure or slightly disapproving of the president right now because of some of those economic feelings.
01:11But it's also making sure that the Republican base is energized and understands the stakes that are at play and
01:19is motivated to turn out when we get to the fall.
01:23We'll see you next time.
