00:21But Matthew 23 type Christians, you've heard me talk about that on my show before.
00:30You're a Christian or you're not.
00:32You're biblical in full context or you're not.
00:37You understand we are to judge biblically ourselves and others, not be a hypocrite.
00:45But sadly, some people have no honor.
00:50What brought this on?
00:52I had a guest pull out last minute on me.
00:58I'm supposed to be recording with them in three minutes.
01:02All of a sudden, I'm not so sure I'd like your show.
01:09Even though I agreed weeks ago to be on it, I gave you my word.
01:15Even though I've had atheists on the show, I've had communists on the show, you don't have to be politically
01:24or religiously aligned to be part of the weekday guest variety show.
01:36Versus this Saturday, more poignant, often tougher, Jesus tough love episodes, dealing in truth.
01:49But sadly, Matthew 23 Christians have no problem.
01:55They have no honor.
01:56They have lies.
01:59What am I talking about?
02:00Lies.
02:01I'm not talking little white lies.
02:05You might tell to avoid hurting someone's feelings.
02:09I'm talking about the people who literally make stuff up and bear false witness against others.
02:24Someone was supposed to come on and we were to talk about trauma.
02:28We are to love even our enemies.
02:31I don't wish ill on those that are in opposition.
02:38I don't want people suffering, even my enemies.
02:44I don't want them suffering.
02:46I pray for them.
02:48I pray they see the light.
02:50I pray they don't suffer.
02:53I want better for them.
02:56And I'm not afraid.
02:58I've been, I've had atheists on my show.
03:01I've been on shows of people who are atheists and had nice, polite conversation.
03:09Not an issue.
03:11It's not like I'm going to attack anyone on this show, as if you're a regular, you know.
03:19But so we were supposed to talk about trauma and dealing with trauma and recovering from trauma.
03:28People who are suffering, that doesn't have to have any political or religious affiliation whatsoever.
03:41Not in the least.
03:44But yet someone canceled at the last second because of apparently a particular show or another.
03:53They didn't say which one, but I can pretty much guess.
03:57Because they prefer a delusional bubble.
04:02And again, what we were to talk about has nothing to do with left, right, Jewish, Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, whatever
04:20-ist.
04:20It's about trauma and suffering and hoping to ease other people's suffering and trauma.
04:31Can we, as humans, not want that for each other?
04:37Isn't that really part of a real Christian is supposed to be about not wanting suffering?
04:48But there is lots of it in this fallen world.
04:53But at any rate, Matthew 23 types.
04:58I talk about it all the time.
05:01Sadly, Dennis Quaid coined churchianity.
05:05There's a lot of buildings out there that have a steeple on them.
05:09But there's not a whole lot of Christ-like stuff going on in them.
05:14They're humanist clubs masquerading as a church of Christ.
05:19They ignore most parts of the Bible.
05:23As a Matthew 23 meme I often share on social media says, Matthew 23 Christians of today would unfriend Jesus
05:34on social media as being too judgmental.
05:39Oh, my, the tough love parts of the Bible, they want to ignore.
05:46They want to just pretend doesn't exist.
05:50They are not Christians trying to pretend that isn't there.
05:58And they have no problem lying, cheating, stealing, bearing false witness.
06:06Goodness, that is not Christ-like.
06:12I said I was going to pull punches and maybe ease up on my wording.
06:18Well, obviously, that went out the window.
06:24But again, you are a Christian and deal in the whole Bible in full context, including the tough love part.
06:35Not just Jesus kumbaya around the campfire.
06:40And can't we all just get along?
06:43Yes, we are to love our enemies.
06:46But Jesus recognized he had enemies.
06:50We have enemies.
06:52People will be aligned against each other.
06:58People who want freedom for others versus those who want to enslave others.
07:05You're not supposed to just, you try to get along with those people.
07:11You try to be diplomatic.
07:14But that doesn't mean that the episode I had about the new way, turn the other cheek, doesn't mean always
07:26be abused.
07:27Grace, yes, people are entitled to a bad day.
07:33Maybe they're having a bad day.
07:35You give them another chance.
07:37You need to.
07:38Martin Luther King Jr., very biblical.
07:41Content of character.
07:43What is really their character?
07:47Not one particular day, one particular sentence, one particular thing they may have said or didn't say, but their general
07:58character, good or evil.
08:03They want good for others or they don't.
08:08But these things matter.
08:11And Matthew 23 types just like want to what?
08:17Pretend Jesus didn't teach us about these things.
08:22Didn't preach about these things.
08:24Yes.
08:25Love your enemy.
08:27Pray for your enemy.
08:29Doesn't mean if they're beating the crap out of you, you don't fight back.
08:35Turn the cheek.
08:36Freak doesn't mean always be abused.
08:40Allow yourself to always be a sucker and always be abused.
08:46Recognize evil for what it is and indeed confront and fight evil.
08:55That is part of the tough love and judgmentalness in there that Jesus preached.
09:04Jesus taught us.
09:07Final judgment is for the Lord.
09:10Indeed.
09:12But.

09:19You're either a real Christian and you deal in the whole Bible or you're a Matthew 23.
09:25Like this person was and all of a sudden decided, oh, my goodness.
09:34I don't care if someone is different than me is suffering as opposed to me wanting them on the show
09:45to talk about trauma and suffering.
09:48Regardless of their politics and regardless of their faith.
09:55That is being a Christian.
09:59Not caring about others and needing to hide in the corner to avoid any minor confrontation.
10:11Again, I've had on atheists and communists on my show.
10:15And we've had very polite conversation, not confrontational, not a problem, no issues.
10:21But this person needed to hide in their safe space.
10:26Okay, I've come out and said it.
10:29I think you know what's going on here.
10:32Matthew 23 types, delusional, don't deal in the whole Bible.
10:40Sorry, I'm going to throw in one last thing here.
10:46If you've pledged to help people and you take an oath to do no harm.
10:55Someone shows up at the hospital needing help.
11:00You do not ask their politics.
11:04You do not ask their faith or lack thereof.
11:09You just ask, what is wrong?
11:13How can we help you?
11:17And that's what this episode was supposed to be about.
11:21People dealing with trauma and suffering.
11:25What can we all do as caring humans, supposedly caring Christians,
11:32to help those suffering and dealing with trauma?
11:39Nothing to do with a skin tone or a political affiliation or a religious affiliation.
11:49Zero to do with any of that.
11:51But yet this person decided, nope.
11:55They only want to talk about and talk to and talk with a certain select small group of people in
12:07their bubble.
12:08Anyone else, they don't care about.
12:13No honor, no integrity.
12:18Take care.
