00:00All right, well, that was fun, and now it's going to change.
00:04Willard and Dibbs.
00:05Now, back to Stiney and Guru on 95.7 The Game.
00:10All right, time for the crossover brought to you by Bay Alarm.
00:13Rest easy, we've got you covered.
00:14Bayalarm.com, Willard and Dibbs, in the house.
00:18And you'll take over the Sharks Canadian stuff for me?
00:21Sure, thank you.
00:22And by the way, for those who don't know what Stiney is talking about,
00:26it is day three of your opportunity to win your way into the sweet next Tuesday night
00:32with the four of us and watch the Sharks play the Canadians.
00:35All you have to do is just be listening to this crossover.
00:38We'll give you the cue to call, and then it's all about speed.
00:42Speed.
00:43I am speed.
00:45I feel the need, the need for speed.
00:47Very good.
00:48That's what my three-year-old says.
00:49Who starred in that movie?
00:51Anthony, not Anthony Edwards.
00:54Oh, speed.
00:55Oh.
00:55So, that's funny.
00:57We actually just both, with our quotes, just referenced two different movies,
01:01and speed is neither of them.
01:04Yeah.
01:04Yeah, yeah.
01:04He's referencing Top Gun.
01:06Top Gun, yeah.
01:07Oh.
01:07Which is one of my favorites.
01:08I was referencing Cars, the Disney Pixar movie.
01:11Oh, gotcha.
01:12I was going Keanu Reeves.
01:13And you went Keanu Reeves.
01:14Yeah, okay.
01:15Speed.
01:15And that was Owen Wilson, I think, voicing.
01:18Correct.
01:18Lightning McQueen.
01:19Yeah.
01:19Yes.
01:20I get those guys confused.
01:21Owen and Luke and whatnot.
01:22Luke is the one that was in Legally Blonde.
01:25Tom Cruise is, well, like, one of my favorite actors.
01:28Top Gun, yes.
01:29That movie's one of my favorite movies.
01:30But the only brother in the movie, I don't like how they did him.
01:34Why do you got to do that, brother?
01:35Why didn't you fire?
01:36I'm like, come on.
01:37We could have had him, man.
01:39We could have had him.
01:40I will fire when I am damn good and ready.
01:42You did sit well with your boy.
01:44I was like, oh, you got it down.
01:46We were like, wow.
01:47Hey, part two, Top Gun 2 was pretty damn good, too.
01:49It went well.
01:51It went well.
01:52Yeah.
01:53I mean, did that break the record for the longest amount of time in between the original and
01:59the sequel?
02:00That's a great one.
02:01Especially with the same lead actor?
02:04I mean, perhaps.
02:05I'd have to Google that.
02:07I don't really know if that, you know.
02:09Anyway.
02:10Sure.
02:12Can I tell you what I hate about last night?
02:15Go ahead, Go.
02:16What do you hate about last night?
02:18I told my partner, and I meant it, I already knew Kaminga could play, but I feel like him
02:24scoring 27 is making me and others, because it's out there, overreact to the 27.
02:31Like, I thought that Minnesota series, to me, that was my ticket of, the dude's got warts.
02:37Don't get me wrong, but I know he can play, but now I didn't know how I was going to
02:42feel
02:42coming in here, and I'm passionate and screaming, but it's not about, oh, I told you, no.
02:48It's just, he's good enough to still be on this team, and he's not.
02:52And that's what hurts.
02:53That's what last night, you know, him balling.
02:56That's completely a fair comment.
02:58Here's what I'd love to see if we can get you to do that.
03:01And I appreciate your tweet last night.
03:02I saw him before I got in the sack.
03:04No, look, I'll say this up front.
03:06I'd love Jamar up in the market.
03:08This whole thing threatens to have a really bad look for the Warriors.
03:12See, Stani's saying that, but it threatens.
03:14If he's off the team, how so?
03:16We already know.
03:17We can get to that.
03:18I just, I want to run something by you real quick.
03:22Sure, it's about I told you so.
03:25You couldn't even, the show couldn't even, I listened to you guys at 10 o'clock.
03:29Right.
03:30Like, the two of you did a different, you guys each did a different show for the first 15 minutes.
03:35Well, he looked, and we have a thing where he's like, go in.
03:39You were so jumping at the bit for this.
03:42And I get it.
03:43I get it.
03:45I just, it is.
03:46It is.
03:47Let me be in your doctor's office.
03:49Go ahead.
03:49And you heard what you heard.
03:51But try to tell me if you believe me when I'm telling you a lot of it was bigger than
03:57just last night.
03:58It was the Minnesota series.
04:01Me thinking, I've seen him soar through the sky, and I think he can play.
04:05But one game doesn't constitute, I told you so.
04:09But it comes off that way.
04:11I get it.
04:11But I'm a Kameena fan, man.
04:13I mean, let's weigh in.
04:15We're not past tense yet.
04:17Okay.
04:17Like, it's not, I don't, like, we shouldn't be like, okay.
04:21Right.
04:22J.K. fans were right.
04:22He's a man and all-star.
04:24Yeah.
04:25And, I mean, Jordan Poole went to Washington, and he cooked.
04:28And they were bad.
04:29And he cooked again.
04:30They were bad.
04:31They dealt him.
04:32New Orleans chose not to play him.
04:34And now he's trying to find his way.
04:35Shout out Tribe Called Quest.
04:37Help me find my way.
04:38And so, small sample, I'm not going to dismiss what he did.
04:41And I'm also going to point out that this 27 actually led to a win.
04:46Again, unlike the Minnesota series where it was he cooked, they lost, and rinse and repeat.
04:51He cooked four times, they lost four times.
04:54And that Warrior team was better.
04:56Minnesota was better than Washington.
04:57But good for J.K.
04:59I'm really hoping he does well.
05:01And no matter what happens with the Warriors, it's going to be a bad look.
05:05If Kaminga goes out, and he stinks, and he goes full-on Trey Lance, and he's out of the league,
05:12well, Warriors, you blew the pick.
05:13And, Stiney, you were in your bag all day today, and I hate to say that,
05:16because you said about three or four things that I would steal normally,
05:20but I want to make sure I credit you, because it was genius.
05:23But if Kaminga goes out, and he does this, and he's that, and he's this good,
05:29well, Warriors, you blew it because you dealt him.
05:31So either way, it's a lose-lose, not really for Dunleavy, but for the organization in general.
05:37Well, they blew it already because he's gone.
05:39But they blew it by taking him, or they blew it by letting him go because he's really good.
05:43Right, but that's what we're going to find out.
05:45That part, which I already believe I know.
05:47I can be wrong.
05:48One of those is way worse than the other.
05:50In a social media age.
05:52I agree with that.
05:53Well, the latter is worse.
05:55Like, if you let him go, and your team is all a million, that's worse.
05:59That's way, way worse.
06:01Agreed.
06:02And, you know, we saw the Trey Lance thing play out where, you know, you use way too much draft
06:06capital,
06:07and you didn't have him start and stuff, and then you let him go, and then Dallas was like,
06:11ah, you're a third string.
06:12And the Chargers were like, you're second string-ish?
06:15Because, I mean, we need you to be?
06:17Because we no longer have Easton Stick?
06:19And so, that one, as it's gone on, has looked better and better for the Chargers, but still,
06:24I mean, for the Niners, but still, you wasted the picks.
06:27It still is a net loss.
06:29Yeah, you blew the pick.
06:29And there, but isn't it kind of too bad?
06:32Like, if you blew the pick on Trey Lance, and then he goes somewhere else, turns into a $50 million
06:37quarterback,
06:37now you blew it twice.
06:39I look at it as, they either picked a guy who couldn't play or wasn't good,
06:47or it will be an indictment on their ability to develop.
06:52Like, it's going to, they've made a mistake.
06:56Now, was the mistake, they drafted a guy at seven who wasn't worth a seven,
07:03and he really wasn't that good, or, no, they drafted somebody,
07:07but they never developed him because, look what he's doing now.
07:11Do you guys think about it as development, though?
07:14Because if he shows up somewhere else and scores 27, and all, like, he's, that's,
07:19he's developed already on some level, because I know that this conversation for years
07:24always fell back to the word fit.
07:26Yeah.
07:27Which I think is going to continue, because it's 2026,
07:31and nobody will ever find agreement on anything.
07:34That's where this will land.
07:36Even if he's amazing, you will still have people be like, but fit.
07:41Like, this still, as all things do, ends up back with Steph Curry,
07:46because that's what this was about for the Warriors.
07:49But can't you make it, I'm going, uh, Cochran.
07:52You would think.
07:52If it don't fit, you would think.
07:54But make it fit, you know what I mean?
07:55You would think.
07:56But I don't know if you can jam the square peg in the round hole,
07:59and I don't know.
08:00And they couldn't at the end of the day, and he's no longer here.
08:02Or they didn't.
08:02They couldn't, or they didn't.
08:03I don't know.
08:04I don't know yet.
08:05And I'll say this about what we're talking about as you were about to go,
08:08Well, it's just going to be, it's, look, I, okay,
08:11is Jonathan Kaminga, and I'm going to use a million,
08:14is he the best player on a championship team down the line?
08:17Is he the second best player on a championship team down the line?
08:20Third best player, fourth best.
08:22Okay, is he the first best player on a non-playoff team?
08:25Is he the third best player on a non-?
08:27Is he the second best player on a team that goes to the front?
08:29Like, we're going to get a sense of what he is at his best over the next 10 years.
08:36And, yeah, if Jonathan Kaminga becomes a two on a really good team,
08:41or even a good team, that, then the Warriors miss something.
08:46And, but then it's like, yeah, I didn't think he'd be that good either.
08:50And they certainly didn't.
08:51And you said something earlier about Kawhi Leonard that I thought was really,
08:54really telling, because when he came in to San Antonio,
08:57he was not the Kawhi that he became in the NBA playoffs when they won the title,
09:02but they played him because he played defense and he rebounded.
09:05And so as a role player, you have to be able to do something outside of what
09:09you eventually can become.
09:11And the Claw has become a Hall of Fame player, a guy who can get you 25 or 30 a
09:15night.
09:16But the Claw then was a guy who was not ready to do that on that team,
09:20but he played because he could rebound and defend.
09:23And that's where, yes, Steve Kerr and company, they should have developed him,
09:27but he wasn't doing the things that they needed him to do then that, you know,
09:32they needed him to have then.
09:33The things that Kawhi Leonard, when he came into the league,
09:38naturally excelled at was defense and rebounding.
09:41Boardman gets paid.
09:43So he played for Popovich.
09:46Guess what?
09:46He's going to play, even if he's a rookie, if he's doing those two things.
09:49And then from there, he became a great offensive player.
09:53Kaminga came in with, like, you know how old school coaches are?
09:58You better play D and rebound first if you're a young guy, if you want to play.
10:01And that's just what Kaminga got caught up in.
10:04My question is, why was Jordan Poole able to manifest himself going to the G League,
10:12coming back, and being a contributor?
10:14And Kaminga just couldn't.
10:17Because I don't think we're – these aren't equal scenarios.
10:21They're not – we're not – nobody starts from the same starting block.
10:25But I guess my point is, will a young player come into said team
10:29and, you know, reinventing himself and being able to help?
10:34I just think it's lazy for us to go, the Warriors don't develop.
10:40Or the Warriors can develop.
10:42Every single player – like, there's a bunch of –
10:45and yes, you are cooking the books with your Ty Jerome comment.
10:48That's completely – and I know you were half kidding.
10:51I know you were half kidding, but, like, they absolutely have developed some players.
10:55And then some have slipped through their fingers.
10:58And that's because it's a whole mathematical algorithm
11:03to what does the player do, to how does it fit, how does it all –
11:07like, at that moment in time, fit with what the Warriors are doing
11:11and blend with those teammates and first team, second team, and all of that.
11:16So, I just – there is not a black-and-white answer to that question.
11:20And I'm going to say this, and I mean it.
11:22I'm going to watch until I'm dead and gone.
11:24But the bottom line is, there is not, without Steph Curry, a big wow factor
11:30with this collective and this iteration of the Warriors.
11:33And Kaminga on a bad day – I guess this is why I always fought.
11:36You guys can have some fun.
11:38Oh, Goo, it's not just about dunks, but he played with a flair.
11:41He was a fun watch when it was going good.
11:45And I'm just reminded of that because these guys are busting their tail right now.
11:49They are wearing their hard hats, but you don't have that flair.
11:53And then I'm watching the game because Stony's like,
11:55I'm going to watch what he's doing in Atlanta.
11:56And then the world seemed to be watching.
11:58And here he is just playing like he's an open gym,
12:01a whole different system, being all he can be.
12:04And it's like, I would like to watch that.
12:07Different system.
12:08And if you would have known, like if Steph Curry would have had this runner's knee in December
12:14and they decided, you know what, we're going to shut you down for the year.
12:17Then Kaminga gets 50 games and you change your system.
12:19And now you go out there and you can play like Kaminga.
12:23And let's go back to 20 – I guess it was 2019, 2020 when Steph got hurt
12:27and Draymond got hurt and Jordan Poole was in the G League and then he came back.
12:31And there was none of those guys around except for Eric Paschal.
12:34And so Jordan Poole got to go out there and just cook.
12:38And he was able to show.
12:39And so Kaminga never had that chance on this team outside of the playoffs last year.
12:45That was the only time and they lost all four games.
12:48And so I think that the system that Steve Kerr runs, like it or hate it,
12:52it does not fit what Jonathan's best at.
12:54You're listening to 95.7 The Game, KGMZ FM and HD1 San Francisco,
12:59an Odyssey Sports Station.
13:01Let me ask you guys to speculate on something here.
13:05Because I got something for you guys.
13:07So that was a road game last night.
13:09So I'm imagining that Joe Lacob watched from a couch somewhere.
13:14Let's say he had league pass and he watched both the Warrior game
13:18and he watched the Hawks game last night.
13:21How do you think that entire experience made Joe Lacob feel?
13:24I would ask for a double of scotch on the rocks.
13:29Like what do you think he called Steve and said this morning?
13:33I just think that people like in that business who live it every day
13:39also know it was one game.
13:43Yeah.
13:44It was one game.
13:45And the Warriors won't have egg on their face at the earliest
13:49until the end of the season.
13:51They got Washington again.
13:53Atlanta plays them again.
13:55Next game.
13:56So if it's like 435.
13:59To me, now it can make – like Atlanta is probably going to be a play-in team,
14:03I guess, right?
14:05Atlanta's currently the nine.
14:06They're the nine.
14:06Okay, so –
14:08Not as safe, though, as like the Warriors are.
14:11They're only two games out of the 11.
14:13Right.
14:14So what I'm looking for in Atlanta is for them to either move up in the play-in
14:18and get into the playoffs and, you know, have a good first round
14:22and Kaminga be a part of that – of that endeavor.
14:29Yeah.
14:29Like where you say, okay, yeah.
14:32Like I'm not going to say, see, the Hawks lost in five games in the first round.
14:35He's – no.
14:36It's like, okay, they got to the first round and Kaminga was, let's say,
14:39their third-leading scorer and did the – okay.
14:42Like, that's pretty good.
14:46That's all I'm saying.
14:47And part of it is offset by what you got back.
14:49And right now what you got back was 18 minutes of, wow, that could be fun.
14:53And then he couldn't play and he got sick and now we're still waiting
14:57and he's not on the trip and all the rest of it.
14:59So I do think that that's part of the balancing act and I think about, like, the Niners.
15:04You traded a second, a third, a fourth, and a fifth for McCaffrey,
15:07which you'd love to have those four players because depth is an issue,
15:11but he's been so good.
15:12You're not even really worried about that.
15:15But for the Warriors, they haven't really had the, quote, one that got away.
15:20Like you could say Chris Boucher, who played one game in about six minutes.
15:24He's gone out to be a good NBA pro.
15:27Ty Jerome?
15:27You know, I'm having fun.
15:29You just found him.
15:30I got you.
15:31I mean, Ryan Rollins, I think, would be probably the headline guy,
15:33but you had to throw him in to make the Chris Paul deal work, right?
15:37And I know that this is, it comes off as, like, moving goalposts and all this.
15:43All these players we're talking about,
15:45not a damn one of them's played a meaningful game all year.
15:48Ty Jerome is playing for a tanking team.
15:50Ryan Rollins is playing for a tanking team
15:53that's playing games with the entire league
15:55with regard to who they're going to trade and who they're not,
15:57and they're sponsored by Cal Sheet.
15:59So, like, what really got away?
16:03Yeah.
16:04There's a lot of empty calories in the league.
16:08And, you know, what I take from last night, maybe this is weird.
16:12I don't know how many of you watched some of the content after the game
16:18and in the tunnel and everything, he looks so happy.
16:22Oh, J.K. Wright, yeah.
16:23He looks so happy.
16:25I give you that, Will.
16:26And I'm like, cool.
16:27Yeah.
16:28You know what I mean?
16:28No, I give you that.
16:28The guy looks free.
16:30And that's why I'm rooting for him, man.
16:32Yeah, like, he looked happy, so.
16:33People think you didn't like him, but like him.
16:35I don't have anything.
16:36Yeah, I got you.
16:37Wow, personal?
16:38Yeah.
16:39I've never even met the guy, basically.
16:42Speaking of which, I couldn't wait on you two.
16:44We had a caller call in, and I got to give Bonte fences and Mullen,
16:47because I'm a Kaminga fan, I thought they put some respect on his name
16:51and what he did here.
16:52And I know it wasn't a masterpiece, but a caller did call in and say,
16:56Mullen said he thought it did get personal.
16:58And I asked Donnie, and I'm being nosy by nature,
17:01do you feel that way?
17:02And if it did, what's that look like?
17:0416 DMPs?
17:06Is it a two-way street?
17:08Is that why he was so hurt when he was supposed to play against OKC?
17:12The only time to me, that's the only time it felt personal.
17:16But what about to him when he got 16 DMPs and he's watching less of them?
17:20Well, that's why he got personal.
17:21Exactly.
17:22So now you've got all these guys out, and now you're going to come to me?
17:25And I don't know if you ever watched The Wire.
17:27It's the greatest, one of the greatest series ever.
17:29And Mikey's at the hospital, and he's at the police station,
17:33and he already got beaten up.
17:34And the sergeant's walking away, and he says,
17:37You're going to watch out for me, sergeant?
17:38You're going to watch out for me?
17:40Because it wasn't Mikey, it was Randy.
17:42Randy had just gotten beaten up because he was a snitch.
17:45And so the sergeant was supposed to protect him.
17:47And so that image always sticks with me.
17:49And, you know, Kaminga's sitting there going,
17:51Oh, now you want to play me?
17:53Now you want me to play?
17:54My neck and my back, guys.
17:56So I think that's when it got personal.
17:58But he had been given more time to play,
18:00and he got hurt at different opportunities, Kaminga.
18:03That's on him.
18:04Well, I don't know if injuries are quote-unquote on him,
18:07but they're certainly not on anyone else.
18:10I don't know.
18:10You've got to define.
18:11You and I had this conversation once before.
18:13I was just curious.
18:15I guess you have to define personal.
18:17And maybe even by definition,
18:19the only people who could answer that would be Steve and Jonathan.
18:22Right.
18:23Like, did they take it personally?
18:26I'm sure Jonathan absolutely took it personally at times.
18:32That I don't think there's any question about.
18:34When you first asked me that weeks ago,
18:36the way it got defined in my head was that you were basically saying,
18:41Steve is holding him out of the game because he doesn't like him as a human.
18:46And I'm like, I don't think coaches operate that way.
18:50They obsessively want to win.
18:52They think a guy's a jerk, but he's going to go win him the game.
18:55He's in.
18:56You know?
18:58At the risk of sounding, what's the word,
19:00like downplaying.
19:01It's like the story of basketball is always about a player that thinks he
19:07should have a bigger role or is better than he is.
19:09And a coach not giving him the playing time or not thinking he's as good as
19:14the player is.
19:15And there's a push pull and there's respect is lost.
19:18It happens.
19:19And I'm thinking about this, like, you know,
19:22if you're in college and that happens, you know,
19:25it happens only for one or two years and then you transfer.
19:27Right.
19:27The portal.
19:28So, like, it happened for four years where, like,
19:32Kaminga got to college as a freshman.
19:34He's like, I'm going to come on and take the league by student.
19:36Nothing happened freshman year.
19:38Because Beck is a sophomore.
19:39Well, now I got a year under my belt.
19:40I'm going to have a bigger role and it doesn't happen.
19:43And now it's his third year.
19:44And, like, that's just the way it goes sometimes.
19:48And I also think, I agree, like, when did it really get personal?
19:53I think when both sides either decided mutually or without even talking that he
19:59doesn't want to play here.
20:00Steve and them don't want to use him.
20:03That's how I explained 16 consecutive DNPs.
20:07It wasn't he was looking down.
20:08Nope, still can't use him.
20:10Nope, still can't use him.
20:11That is, to me, it's, we're not using him.
20:15And he's okay with that because he doesn't want to be used anymore anyway.
20:20Different rule.
20:20Gar!
20:20Yeah.
20:21Okay.
20:22Gar!
20:22Yeah, you know what that means.
20:24Gar!
20:24Time to call the contest line right now and see if we can all, next Tuesday night, watch
20:30the Sharks.
20:32Gar!
20:32There you go.
20:33Okay, so, contest line right now.
20:35If you want to go.
20:36So, by the way, I'm supposed to remind you, don't call unless you can go.
20:40So, next Tuesday night, you and a guest join us in a suite, Sharks Canadiens.
20:46Caller 8 right now, 415-523-4652.
20:51415-523-4652.
20:54Caller 8 wins.
20:56Good luck.
20:57And if you don't win today, you got Thursday and Friday as well.
20:59I think so few things in pro sports get, quote, personal.
21:03And I'm thinking about the Niners and Brandon Ayuk.
21:06And that probably got personal.
21:08He made it personal.
21:09They did.
21:10Whoever did.
21:11That got personal to where, you know, he fought for his deal.
21:15He got his deal.
21:15And then he didn't want to rehab.
21:16And they did what they did.
21:17And they waited.
21:19And now they're going to cut him and the rest of it.
21:20That got personal.
21:21Like, Debo and, you know, Trent's doing what he's doing now.
21:24And Kittle got extra money and all the rest of it and stuff.
21:27None of that gets personal.
21:29It's business.
21:30It's like business personal-ish.
21:32But I think very few times in that business do actual pros make it personal.
21:38I was going to bring up one of the, if not the biggest regrets on getting rid of a player,
21:45him going to said team.
21:46And I'm not saying Kaminga's doing this by any stretch.
21:49And coming back to be Casper and haunt you.
21:51And you tell me if this qualifies.
21:54Charles Haley.
21:55I mean, the Niners traded him to Dallas and enabled them to build that.
21:59He was the missing piece.
22:01They beat you twice to go.
22:02So, like, but that was personal because he was being a mount doing a lot of stuff.
22:07I mean, that was beyond personal.
22:09But I believe in this new Niner, Doc.
22:10Carmen Paulus, he was like, if I had that to do over again, I would have never seen him there.
22:15You know?
22:16Wasn't Haley flat out in his prime at that point?
22:19He was a bad boy.
22:20Everybody knew he was the best.
22:21He was the dude.
22:23I'm not saying it's not a good analogy.
22:25But, like, Kaminga is not that.
22:28Right.
22:28Like, if he, if he, that's like, if he becomes Charles Haley, well, then.
22:33But we got years before we could put that stamp on him.
22:36Or do we not with social media in one game last night?
22:39I mean, is this how the Vikings felt watching the Super Bowl this year?
22:42Wow.
22:44But he had been counted out so much.
22:46But you're right.
22:47Except for he won 14 games for them.
22:51That's, that's why that one's.
22:52It's like.
22:54Ay, ay, ay.
22:55That wasn't personal.
22:56No.
22:56That was personnel.
22:58Yeah.
22:58That's a three.
22:59That's good.
22:59That's nice.
23:00Yeah.
23:01I thought the pause would have earned me a four.
23:02But, because they drafted a rookie who was hurt.
23:05And so, rookie contract.
23:07We're all so enamored.
23:09But you got to, you got to be ready to pivot.
23:11Yeah.
23:11Like, somebody wins you 14 games in the NFL.
23:13You keep that guy.
23:14And if they had to do that over again, no doubt.
23:16No headings.
23:16Oh, yeah.
23:17You got me.
23:17You remind me of Ryan Seacrest.
23:19You really do.
23:21Here's what I mean by that.
23:22Why are you so stunned?
23:23I just pictured him.
23:24Yeah.
23:25Like, I'm.
23:26And I just recently saw him on TV.
23:28And man.
23:29Looking good or old?
23:29No.
23:30Oh, really?
23:31Like, you look good.
23:32Really?
23:33If you know Ryan Seacrest, somebody needs to reach out.
23:36Oh.
23:36Seriously, man?
23:37Why?
23:37What'd you see?
23:37I see a guy who is gaunt.
23:41I see a lot of weight loss.
23:43I see somebody who's weathered and probably tired.
23:46Weathered is the worst.
23:47Okay.
23:47This is exactly where I'm going.
23:49I've always looked at his career.
23:52And I've been like, I don't understand how you are, where you are.
23:56And I mean that physically.
23:58I don't know how, how do you host a national radio show, then do, not the voice, what's
24:06the stupid?
24:06American Idol.
24:07American Idol.
24:08Right.
24:08And then, you know.
24:09Wheel of Fortune.
24:11You're hosting eight shows at once.
24:13I've never understood how he's able to pull this trick.
24:17When you just said to Dibs that you watch The Wire, I don't understand where your hours
24:23in the day come.
24:24You live in every city in California.
24:27It was pre-radio, though.
24:28You watch every sporting.
24:30You'll come in here and you'll be like, the Pirates and the Guardians last night.
24:33Did you see it?
24:33They got the top prospect of baseball.
24:35But everyone's like, no, Goo.
24:37We didn't see it.
24:38We're watching the Warrior game.
24:40You'll come in.
24:41You sound like you've watched 43 games.
24:43You've caught all that's on TV.
24:46I've been on 23.
24:46You were in three different cities and had seven family events.
24:50All within the last time since we saw you at 2 o'clock yesterday.
24:54I don't get it.
24:55That's wild, man.
24:56I don't understand how you're.
24:57It takes a couple screens.
24:58Two screens.
24:59I got a couple screens in the lab.
25:01How do you do it?
25:02But I love ball, man.
25:03No, I know.
25:03It's not a credit.
25:05I just don't understand.
25:06I don't know.
25:07Stoddy told me I need to start reading more.
25:08Do you have a different calendar that's got more?
25:11How many hours are in your day?
25:13I go about 1231.
25:16I don't get it.
25:17I don't get it.
25:18Stoddy didn't like you.
25:19I mean, if it's not the case that that's what's happening, then we've got, there's apparently
25:25some embellishment going on here.
25:28Yeah.
25:28Oh, that was one or the other.
25:30That was a little bit of an accusation.
25:31No, I'm saying it.
25:32Well, there's not many things about the premise of the funeral thing earlier.
25:36You just put it in perspective for me yesterday.
25:38Did I actually say to you that you lead the league in funeral?
25:41Yeah, in funerals.
25:42I thought so.
25:43In my mind.
25:44And it had me driving home.
25:46It wasn't bad.
25:47Will, you were.
25:47First of all, tone.
25:48You're right.
25:49I've had a lot of death.
25:49And tone, like tone is really important.
25:52Like, if you were like, I'll be at a funeral Friday, and I'm like, damn.
25:56Because I'm the guy that shares with us four.
25:58Who's going to be out?
25:59I'm like, just to prepare you, I'm going to be out.
26:01I miss you.
26:01My man over here is leading the league in funerals.
26:03But you didn't say it like that.
26:05You cracked open your drink.
26:07Right.
26:07I was kind of like, wow.
26:09And I thought in my mind what I said was, your funeral count is pretty high.
26:16No, lead the league in funerals.
26:18Did I say lead the league?
26:19I don't.
26:20Maybe.
26:21Maybe.
26:21You are the Don Baylor of radio.
26:23Oh, man.
26:24And you remember Don Baylor would always lead the league and hit by pitch.
26:26Correct.
26:27That's kind of what that stat means.
26:29I'm passionate.
26:30Like, wow, you got a lot of.
26:31Yeah.
26:32You've been to a lot of funerals.
26:34He goes, yeah.
26:35You know who got hit even more than Don Baylor?
26:38A guy named Ron Hunt.
26:40Yes.
26:41Ron Hunt.
26:42I'll have to Google it to make sure it's out here.
26:44I want to say he got hit 58 times one year, and I'm not kidding.
26:48For some reason that.
26:49Was he a bad guy, or was he crowding?
26:51No, he just.
26:51He had an art.
26:53He had a knack.
26:54Hey, I'm feeling good today, guys.
26:56Are you?
26:57You got an appointment after work.
26:59Yeah, but it's not time.
27:003.15, so I got time.
27:01Do I hang out?
27:02Oh, look at him.
27:02I think I'm gonna.
27:03Do you just hang out and do the show with us?
27:05Well, until your first break.
27:07Well, that's pretty much all we got.
27:09Okay.
27:10Seriously.
27:10Wow.
27:11It's a brief one today.
27:12There you go.
27:13Yeah.
27:14This might be the day they don't want you to stay.
27:16You want to do Warriors Live?
27:17I'll show you how to do it.
27:18I see they're on early.
27:20I could.
27:21This is the day they don't want you to stay, Stiney.
27:23I could get by.
27:24We get to do predictions and everything.
27:25Evan, we have nothing to do today.
27:27I think he asked you to go somewhere.
27:29I can't today.
27:30I have something to do.
27:31Ron Hunt, sixth all-time.
27:34I mentioned Don Baylor, who is fourth.
27:36Jason Kendall, we all remember.
27:38Former Pirates.
27:39That's my least favorite player of all time.
27:41What'd you say?
27:42My least favorite?
27:44Why?
27:44Because he's an RA.
27:45He was a jerk.
27:47His dad, Fred Kendall, played in the league.
27:49Played for the catcher for the Indians.
27:51Okay.
27:51So he grew up around the game, and he has disdain for everybody who's not a red-ass
27:57and a gal like Kim.
27:58Yeah, and Kendall.
27:59I thought he was a resident advisor.
28:01He said, you were my RA, and I'm like, what's an RA, and why do you hate him?
28:06I did hate my RA, but that was for a completely different reason.
28:10When Tim Palchuk, he's a nice guy.
28:11He wrote me up after eating my mom's brownies.
28:15He came to my room and said, I heard your mom sent you homemade brownies.
28:21And I said, yeah.
28:22Do you want one?
28:23He goes, sure.
28:24Come on.
28:25So I open up my fridge, and there was a beer.
28:28A beer in the fridge.
28:29Oh, boy.
28:30I give him the brownie.
28:31He takes a bite.
28:33Oh, by the way, you're written up.
28:37That turns around and leaves.
28:38That's a gangster.
28:39That's a cool piece right there.
28:41Yeah.
28:42That's worse than a red-ass, don't you think?
28:44Are we not going to talk about the death step yesterday, or does it just have to involve
28:48Drayvon?
28:48Craig Biggio's second in the pride of Philly, Huey Jennings, number one all time.
28:52Not in the modern era.
28:53That's not a real person.
28:54No, but he's from Pittston, PA.
28:57Pittston's actually, I believe, northeast Pennsylvania.
29:00All right.
29:01But, yeah.
29:01He died in Scranton.
29:03That's northeast.
29:04Yeah.
29:05Rest in peace, Huey.
29:07Almost 98 years ago to the day.
29:08Anyway.
29:09Who's fighting?
29:10I'm team pods.
29:11I'm team pods.
29:13Dirty rebounds in two games?
29:15Come on, QP.
29:15You're throwing your arms up?
29:17Give me the ball.
29:17My favorite dust-up of all time in the NBA.
29:21Pods and posts.
29:22What did you call them?
29:23I mean, Bantamweights.
29:26Bantamweights.
29:28I loved it, though, but Post was hot.
29:31Give me the ball.
29:32He was open.
29:33Well, he was.
29:33I mean, give him the ball.
29:35He had that dude sealed.
29:37He's like, get a rebound.
29:38You know, I'm watching the game last night, and I'm thinking to myself, man, you know,
29:45over the course of time, you really can change opinions of things.
29:50And let me tell you who I've been in love with.
29:53DeAndre Jordan is a great guy.
29:56Like, he is a great guy.
29:58Seems like it.
29:59And he used to be on those Clippers teams.
30:02But, like, even just seeing him with Pods, he didn't take his head off.
30:07Pods, the move was so awkward that DeAndre Jordan kind of had a clothesline, but he didn't.
30:14And I'm thinking, I'll bet you, if I were DeAndre Jordan, I would have stepped on him.
30:19And DeAndre Jordan goes up to him after the timeout, like, you cool?
30:22Is it good?
30:22You all right, kid?
30:23And I'm like, that's why he's still on a team at 41.
30:26He must be a great teammate.
30:27That's exactly right.
30:28And if I played, if we want to play name that team, he's been on eight teams.
30:34DeAndre Jordan, year 18.
30:37And he's quietly played more than 1,000 games.
30:39And what you just said there at the end, Steining, is exactly what I was thinking.
30:43You have to be a good guy to be that, I mean, average, whatever.
30:47Whatever he is, he's still playing at 41 because people like him.
30:51He was on the Mavericks, right?
30:53He was on the Mavericks.
30:57Hawks, Nuggets, Clippers.
30:59He was not a Hawks.
31:01I'm sorry, Guru.
31:02You're going to have to take a playoff.
31:04Unfortunately, I have the list in front of me because I wanted to play a different game with y'all,
31:07which is who can come closest to his career earnings.
31:10Oh, yeah.
31:11Wow.
31:12It's going to be a lot, but not astounded.
31:14Now that you've hijacked a bit, I'll just say Pelicans, Sixers, Knicks.
31:18He was a Laker.
31:19Yep.
31:20And, yeah, Brooklyn.
31:22You know, I'll just throw this out there because it's timely regarding DeAndre Jordan.
31:27You know what?
31:30He's the kind of guy that, and I don't believe in these elixirs, these magic pills, but you
31:38know what?
31:39Even all the Warriors the last three or four years is like an Adonis Haslam.
31:42Who's to say this couldn't have worked out better with Kaminga and the team?
31:47No.
31:48Who's to say?
31:50They didn't have a roster spot, though.
31:51Man.
31:52And he's 41.
31:53But I'm just saying.
31:53Two for 13 all time from three.
31:56So, I mean, he's the worst free throw shooter than Shaq.
32:00Even in this era of, like, everybody shoots a three, he won't.
32:03I feel like he made all of them.
32:04He missed one last night.
32:05Maybe he's better now.
32:06When he was with the Clippers.
32:07They tried to hack a Jordan.
32:09They did.
32:09They did.
32:10I didn't like what Ralph Lawler used to call it, hack a DJ.
32:13I love that rule.
32:14But I hated that because I'm like, you can't just do hack a and then whatever their name
32:19is.
32:19It was hack a Shaq.
32:21Yeah.
32:21That's right.
32:22That rhymes.
32:22You can't just sub in DJ and have it be cool.
32:26That's not funny.
32:27First one to 100.
32:27The original DJ was only the DJ.
32:31Stolen by DJ.
32:33Exactly.
32:33Johnny Most, rest in peace.
32:35Dennis Johnson, Hall of Famer.
32:36He was DJ.
32:37All right.
32:38Fire away and don't overbid.
32:41DeAndre Jordan's career earnings.
32:42Go ahead.
32:45If you overbid, you're out.
32:46Price is right rules.
32:48No?
32:48Okay.
32:50You know, I'm, I'm, and you're going to need a lead in before the answer.
32:54Of course, he made big money, but he didn't make monster money.
32:58So I'm going to say 18 years.
33:00I'm going to say $233 million.
33:06$233 for Stiney.
33:07Dibs?
33:08I like it.
33:09And I'm not trying to box you in, but my initial thought was 241.
33:13So that's where I'm going to go with 241 million.
33:16241 million.
33:17I'm going 260.
33:18260.
33:19All right.
33:19You've all lost.
33:20It's under.
33:21All three of you have overbid.
33:22The kids are grand.
33:23At a quite significant level, by the way.
33:26Because remember, over the last handful of years, this guy's making $2, $3 million a year.
33:30And even if it's big years, I'll bet we're still under 15.
33:34That is 189.
33:34Biggest single year for DeAndre Jordan, 22.6.
33:39Dallas.
33:412017 with the Los Angeles Clippers.
33:47181 million.
33:49Poor guy.
33:49DeAndre Jordan.
33:50Man.
33:50That's why he's still working.
33:52Yeah.
33:52I mean, how are you going to make ends meet?
33:53He'll get there.
33:54Yeah.
33:54He'll be just fine.
33:56But, yeah, the hack of strategy, I didn't hate it.
33:59And then I saw him go to the line.
34:01I'm like, oh, my God, this guy's still playing.
34:03And then he knocked them.
34:04What, he knocked them both down?
34:05He made one out of two, but he made one earlier.
34:07Yep.
34:08So he asked me a question.
34:09Why does this team shoot the most threes in the league or attempt them?
34:13Because they don't have anybody who can break people down on the dribble?
34:16Yeah.
34:17Yeah, they've got him.
34:18I mean, they've got him.
34:20So if you had Jimmy, would you have more of an ISO mid-range game?
34:24Sure.
34:25If you had Chris Tapps, who could actually play basketball, could you run more through him?
34:29Sure.
34:29If Kaminga rebounded and played defense at a level where you actually wanted to have him be around, and he
34:35can go out there with a ha-ha, yeah, you would let him go and do that at that level.
34:40But right now, you've got no real post-game.
34:43You've got no ISO game.
34:44You've got a bunch of mostly mediocre three-point shooters and Draymond.
34:48So that's how you play.
34:49You guys got to answer this.
34:51And by the way, it's our poll question because it's a game night.
34:54So Dub Nation, let's get engaged before every game.
34:56We ask you to vote in our engaging Dub Nation poll on the 95.7 The Game Twitter page.

35:10I have a feeling I know how you'll vote on this, Goo.
35:12Okay.
35:12Steini, I am interested in your answer, though, too.
35:15Jonathan Kaminga with his Hawks debut last night.
35:1827 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 75% from the field, 9 of 12, 3 of 4 from beyond the
35:26three-point arc in just 24 minutes.
35:29So it's a yes or no question.
35:30Two turnovers.
35:32Two turnovers.
35:34And a microphone.
35:36Not bad.
35:37It's a two.
35:38Beck, I got it.
35:39It's a three.
35:40I know.
35:41Did the Warriors make a mistake by trading him, yes or no?
35:44Oh, boy, by trading him.
35:46He knows my answer.
35:48It had nothing to do with last night.
35:51No.
35:52Okay.
35:53I'm saying yes.
35:54I'm saying yes.
35:55And the reason why I'm saying yes is because of what you got in return, which so far is 18
36:01minutes of Latvian inactivity.
36:05And so I'm excited for that.
36:07But at the end of the year, if you don't re-sign Porzingis and you just let him go and
36:12you have a $30 million salary hole versus a guy who's out there with the ha-ha.
36:1623 years old.
36:17Unless they acquire a player.
36:18I mean, they could.
36:19Yeah.
36:19That's an if, though.
36:20What if it goes the other way?
36:21Yeah, it's all an if, and they've done this before, and they acquired Chris Paul II.
36:27How'd that go?
36:28I'll vote yes as well.
36:30I'm going to say, but through the chain, no, comma, not yet.
36:34Yeah, see, there's circumstances.
36:36I would actually answer it by when are you asking me?
36:39I think they had to by the time it got to where it got to a couple of weeks ago.
36:44I guess what bothers me real quick is watching these guys, he belongs in this group.
36:50He's better than damn near half the dudes on the team.
36:52Let's see if they regret it.
36:54How about that?
36:55Let's see if they regret it.
36:58Do you think there is going to be a black and white right or wrong?
37:04Nope.
37:05Yeah, see, there never is.
37:07Yeah, I kind of agree with you.
37:09There sometimes is, but.
37:10Yeah, there can be some obvious, but, like, if Jonathan, Jonathan Kaminga doesn't have
37:15to do much for me.
37:16He's got to be a positive player on a good team.
37:20Whatever that is, then he's succeeding.
37:22If he's a sixth man, and that's what he does, then he will have done probably more than I
37:30thought he was going to do in the first five years.
37:31Well, I'm glad we didn't trade you, because you are just that.
37:34You're a positive player on a successful team.
37:36Yep.
37:37Well, thank you, Dibs.
37:38And you stuck it out today.
37:39I mean, this was great.
37:40It was quite a concierge.
37:41I got goosebumps.
37:41And you know what?
37:42How about this?
37:42A little bonus, because I know you're truncated today, so I made a short show.
37:48Do run it by me, because I have somewhere to go.
37:52This was the best day for you to stay.
37:54I'm shocked, but I'm a team player.
37:57You run it by me.
37:58You know what I mean?
38:00I got business to do, so I can take it all the way in.
38:04On 95.7 The Game.
38:05A little bucket list.
