This mesmerising aerial footage shows a large aggregation of manatees huddled together in Florida’s freshwater springs.
Moses Palermo, a wildlife photographer, sent his drone up in the air to capture these unique shots.
When winter chills the Gulf of Mexico, hundreds of manatees begin a quiet migration inland, funnelling into Florida’s freshwater springs where the water remains a life-saving 72°F (22°C).
Moses said: “Reaching the spring itself requires passing through a narrow corridor, one by one, before the tide drops too low.
“Inevitably, a single manatee takes the first leap of faith, triggering the slow, deliberate procession that follows.
“It’s a rare and humbling glimpse into how instinct, trust, and survival shape one of nature’s most peaceful gatherings.”
