An egret is seen perched on the back of a manatee as the animal rests in the water. The bird stays settled in place, balanced above the manatee’s rounded body. The manatee remains still and unbothered, making no visible effort to shake the egret loose or change position.
The quiet pairing turns an ordinary moment on the water into a small study in patience and proximity. It ends as it began, with both animals holding their positions in an unusually calm scene.
