00:00Four days into the reopening of Iranian universities, students at this school of architecture and
00:06art continue to chant familiar slogans.
00:12Across campuses in Tehran and beyond, students have been keeping the protest movement going,
00:17defying the threat of a possible brutal crackdown.
00:21In some cases, like at Tehran's University of Science and Technology, it's led to clashes
00:26with pro-government students who've been staging counter-protests.
00:30The regime has offered muted warnings so far, saying disrespecting the Iranian flag is an example of a line that
00:37shouldn't be crossed.
00:40We believe university students are young, active individuals and they naturally have the right to protest.
00:45However, it's important for all of us to recognize that we also have a responsibility to understand the boundaries we
00:51shouldn't cross.
00:53Last month, Iranians suffered through the bloodiest crackdown on dissent in the country's modern history.
00:59What started with economic demands quickly turned into mass nationwide demonstrations calling for the end of the Islamic Republic system.
01:07The regime responded with a massacre, cutting all internet access to conceal the repression.
01:12The Iranian government says 3,117 people were killed in the protests,
01:18whilst US-based human rights activist news agency puts the number of dead at 7,015.
01:24All in-person classes at Iranian universities were suspended at the start of the year,
01:29authorities blaming cold weather, but critics calling it a preventative measure to stop demonstrations from taking place.
01:36Thank you very much.
