00:00Facing pressure from within and also abroad, Iran's regime celebrated the 47th anniversary
00:06of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Hardliners, government employees and also those pressured
00:12to attend partook in the parade, brandishing anti-U.S. and anti-Israel banners. But behind
00:19the pump, there is also widespread anger over the Revolutionary Guards and their massacre
00:24protesters. Just the night before, during a government-sponsored fireworks display, shouts
00:30death to the dictator rang out in Tehran. During his commemoration speech, Iran's president
00:37addressed what he called a great sorrow over the crackdown. But he did not mention the
00:42Revolutionary Guards or how they murdered Iranian civilians. Instead, his speech focused on
00:47ongoing nuclear talks.
00:49Iran will not yield to their excessive demands. Iran will not give in to injustice or aggression.
00:55But with all our capacity and in pursuit of peace and stability in the region, we are engaged
01:00in dialogue with our neighboring countries.
01:03The anniversary comes as Iran and the U.S. resumed indirect talks in Oman on Friday and
01:08on the heels of more threats by Donald Trump. In response to the bloody crackdown and a ramp-up
01:14pressure, the U.S. president said he's sending another aircraft carrier to the region.
01:18In addition to having moved the USS Abraham Lincoln to the area.
01:22We have a massive flotilla right now going over to Iran. We'll see what happens. I think
01:28they want to make a deal. I think they'd be foolish if they didn't. We took out their nuclear
01:32power last time and we'll have to see if we take out more this time.
01:36After indirect talks in Oman, Iran's senior security official Ali Larajani arrived in Qatar
01:42to continue negotiations. And the office of the emir of Qatar said he'd held a call with Trump.
01:48Discussing de-escalation and security in the Gulf, and that call comes as the U.S. president
01:52is hosting Benjamin Netanyahu. The Israeli Prime Minister is expected to push the U.S. for
01:58maximum pressure on Iran.
