00:00Your evening now with Sparkling Company.
00:15Hello there and welcome to your Midweek One show live on BBC One and I play with Clara Ampho.
00:20And Alex Jones and tonight we are joined by strictly legend Tess Daly and Fly's Tom Fletcher.
00:26Plus, as it is our last Wednesday before Christmas, that can only mean one thing.
00:30Matt is here with the final watchdog of the year, but not everyone is in the festive mood, are they,
00:34Matt?
00:35No, indeed. It's just a week until the big man makes his appearance.
00:39But we've been hearing about online Christmas tree company, The Nordman,
00:44which has left some of its customers without a tree or a refund.
00:47And that's just not fair.
00:50Plus, we'll be looking back on some of our biggest wins this year,
00:53from fake mobile phones to electricity metres with a ticking clock,
00:57before revealing just how much money we've helped get back for our watchdog viewers.
01:03Spoiler alert, it's a lot.
01:06I bet it is.
01:07Also coming up tonight, we will be looking ahead to the Strictly Come Dancing Grand Final on Saturday
01:12with someone who's been at the heart of the show for over two decades,
01:17the brilliant Tess Daly.
01:19Yes, back in October, Tess and Claude announced they'd be leaving the show,
01:22so before they say their goodbyes, we'll be celebrating Tess and her record-breaking,
01:26get this, 500 appearances in the ballroom with just, you know, just a few surprises tonight.
01:32And joining Tess are Tom Fletcher and his talented son, Buzz.
01:36Now, they'll be telling us about teaming up for a beautiful song
01:39which features in a new heart-warming animation come into the BBC this Christmas
01:44that brings Pensy Bear to life like you have never seen him before.
01:47It's very sweet.
01:48It is lovely.
01:49Get some tissues, actually, because you're probably going to cry just a little bit.
01:52And, of course, it's great hearing from you.
01:54So if you want to show some love to our guests, maybe you've got a Top Test Strictly moment,
01:57do get in touch on WhatsApp 0330 123 1700, and we're on socials and email.
02:03So lots to look forward to tonight, and we are starting with Watchdog,
02:07where Matt is kicking off the festive celebrations early.
02:10Oh, yeah. 2025 marked 40 years of Watchdog.
02:14And in our anniversary year, we've helped viewers all over the UK
02:18with everything from broadband issues to bogus clothing websites.
02:22So before I reveal just how much money we've managed to get back,
02:26let's remind ourselves of some of this year's biggest Watchdog wins.
02:32You know who never lets you down?
02:35Santa.
02:36That's right.
02:37The big man has a 100% customer satisfaction rating.
02:41That's why it's time to leave him a review and a pie or two.
02:46At this time of year on Watchdog, we like to look back at how we've helped people
02:50when firms and organisations have really dropped the bauble.
02:56Forget about 12 days of Christmas.
02:58In June, it was 12 days of crisis for 88-year-old Helen
03:02when Origin Broadband's engineering works
03:05left her and other customers with no phone and internet.
03:10That was until Nicky waved her wand.
03:14We reached out to Origin, and as if by magic,
03:17they are now back with their internet and their landline, which is great.
03:21That included 91-year-old Bertha, who was left without broadband for nine days.
03:27I caught up with her son, David.
03:29It was just an absolute disaster.
03:32So without your help, I don't know what we would have done.
03:34I can't thank you enough.
03:36Enough of phone stories?
03:38No.
03:38They're like pigs in blankets.
03:40You've just got to have one more.
03:42In February, some Tesco Mobile customers signed up for phone contracts,
03:47only to be sent fake handsets and asked to keep up their monthly payments.
03:52It's got fake buttons, a fake camera.
03:55So we made sure it didn't snowball.
03:58Tesco blamed the issue on supply partners,
04:01but gave refunds and cancelled future payments for those affected.
04:06Here's another one to unwrap.
04:08In September, we exposed clothing website True Patriotic.
04:13Its bogus site pretended sales would benefit the legitimate charity
04:17now called Royal British Veterans Enterprise,
04:19and even featured some of its veterans without their permission.
04:25Fortunately, after we reported it to National Trading Standards,
04:29the True Patriotic website disappeared quicker than a snowflake in a sauna,
04:33which is welcome news to veteran Steve.
04:37It was just a big relief for our charity, really.
04:40I feel like that deserves another sherry.
04:44It doesn't always work out, of course.
04:46There are some companies who, despite our best efforts,
04:49still won't do what you'd hope they would.
04:52It doesn't always come up roses.
04:55Back in January, we told you that myflowers.co.uk
04:59was failing to deliver orders to people like Joe,
05:02who needed them for her dad's funeral.
05:06The morning exclamation left me in a bit of a panic,
05:09trying to sort out something to go on the coffin instead.
05:12At the time, it admitted having technical difficulties,
05:16but in the last 12 months,
05:17there have been over 900 one-star reviews on Trustpilot.
05:22So we wrote to the company again, but it never got back to us.
05:26Still on the naughty list, as it would seem, is outdoor toys.
05:31In June, we reported customers were missing key items from their deliveries.
05:36It said this was because of high volumes of spring orders,
05:39but half a year on, we're still hearing complaints.
05:42We got back in touch, and it assured us it has improved
05:47and new systems should prevent errors reoccurring.
05:51We also told you about energy customers with RTS meters.
05:55Suppliers needed to replace them before the service shut on the 30th of June.
06:00With the deadline fast approaching,
06:02Jenny from Faversham was left in the lurch
06:05when EDF cancelled her appointment.
06:08After Nicky met with her, EDF promised to get the meter sorted.
06:12Well, since filming, we have got our meter.
06:16It was put in, and it is up and running and working perfectly well.
06:22Thank you to Watchdog.
06:24That's what happens when St Nicky comes visiting.
06:27And the government has since extended the deadline,
06:30calling for a controlled phase-out.
06:35Right, we're ready for Santa, and for Rudolph,
06:39and for 2026 to bring another sack full of Watchdog wins.
06:43Merry Christmas.
06:45Look after yourselves, and you know where we are.
06:49I don't think he needs that one.
06:53Well, it has to be said that you and Nicky
06:56have been so busy this year helping.
06:59Which tips, then, would you like our viewers, lovely viewers,
07:02to take with them into Christmas and into the New Year?
07:05As our Christmas gift to them.
07:06Exactly.
07:06Right, well, listen, all year we shared our advice
07:08on the best ways to protect yourself.
07:10And here are mine and Nicky's red-hot Christmas chestnuts of wisdom
07:14to remember over the festive period and beyond.
07:17First up, a problem we often hear about on Watchdog,
07:20deliveries not turning up.
07:22It's the nightmare before Christmas.
07:23But remember, it's the retailer, not the delivery company,
07:27which is responsible if your parcel hasn't arrived.
07:30If they try and fob you off, remember,
07:33hit them with the Consumer Rights Act of 2015,
07:35which means they must offer a replacement or a refund.
07:39And while we are on the subject of refunds,
07:4214 days is the magic number.
07:44Your money must be back with you within two weeks
07:46from when the company receives the goods back
07:49or from when you can show that you returned them.
07:53You've got to get the proof, Rudolph.
07:54That avoids red faces and noses.
07:57Finally, I'm going to talk about cards.
07:59Not Christmas cards, the ones you pay with.
08:02How you pay could save Christmas Day
08:05because it can give you built-in protection
08:07if there's a problem later.
08:09Debit cards can give you a thing called chargeback.
08:12If things go wrong, you go back to your bank for that.
08:14A credit card, however, is the ace.
08:17Section 75 protection means a card provider
08:19has got your back for anything over £100 by gifts to you.
08:25Lovely stuff.
08:26Really, really solid advice for that.
08:27Now, the thing is about you, you're all around the clock
08:29because you are definitely not clocking off for Christmas,
08:31are you?
08:32Absolutely not.
08:32Nicky and I are on it 24-7.
08:35And we have been hearing about one Christmas tree company
08:39whose online customers have, in some cases,
08:41been left hanging like a bauble.
08:43The Nordman.co.uk offers trees of all shapes and sizes.
08:48It guarantees freshness and on-time delivery.
08:51But tell that to Mirinolini and her family, isn't it, Alex?
08:55Yes.
08:55Now, Mirinolini ordered a five-foot tree costing £58.90
08:59with delivery on the 1st of December.
09:01Now, she had selected the state
09:03because her parents were visiting from India
09:05and she wanted all three generations
09:07to decorate the tree together.
09:09Nice idea.
09:09But the 1st of December came around
09:12and the family waited in all day,
09:14but the tree was nowhere to be seen.
09:16She tried emailing and calling, but no response.
09:18They didn't know whether to wait or spend more money
09:21on getting a tree elsewhere.
09:23Right.
09:23Clara, tell us about Shannon.
09:24So, Shannon ordered a seven-foot tree
09:27from the Nordman for £117.
09:29This was the first time she'd ordered a real tree
09:32as her brother was coming over from Australia
09:34and she wanted, understandably,
09:35to create a magical Christmas
09:37for his children and their grandfather.
09:38After confirming her delivery date as December the 1st,
09:42she waited in all day, but the tree did not arrive.
09:45She asked for an update but had no reply.
09:47OK.
09:48We contacted the Nordman three times,
09:50but we got no response.
09:52Christmas trees are time-sensitive goods.
09:54If you can't meet demand,
09:55you need to communicate that to your customers,
09:57who, at this time of year, let's face it,
09:59have much more important things to do
10:01than wait around all day and chase for updates.
10:04So, are they still out of pocket
10:05and, more importantly, without a tree?
10:08Well, Shannon felt she had no choice
10:10but to spend another £125 on a new tree
10:13from another supplier.
10:14Here's her dad and brother with the tree,
10:17loving the beau, Shannon, very on trend.
10:19Meanwhile, Marinalini's partner
10:21visited the Nordman's pop-up stall
10:23in south-west London to find out what was going on.
10:25She said the company apologised
10:27and promised to deliver later in the week.
10:29However, the family has clearly been watching
10:32a lot of Watchdog because they insisted
10:34on taking a tree there and then,
10:37and here they are with it fully decorated.
10:40Christmas is therefore saved.
10:42Watchdog will be catching up with Shannon
10:44in the new year to see if she gets a refund.
10:47Like Marinalini, we never give up
10:50until we get a result, and that is why.
10:52Over the course of 2025,
10:54we have been able to claw back for you,
10:57our viewers,
10:58a whopping £240,247.
11:04Come on!
11:07Now, that is a brilliant result.
11:09Presumably, that's just the wins
11:10that you know about, right?
11:11Yeah, absolutely.
11:12And kudos to our fantastic team
11:15for chasing down those wins.
11:17We plan to fill 2026 with even more wins,
11:21but we can't do it without your help.
11:23So, if you have any consumer issues,
11:24we want to hear about them.
11:26Email watchdog at bbc.co.uk
11:28or tag us at BBC Watchdog on the socials.
11:31It only remains for me to wish you all
11:34a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
11:37Oh, Merry Christmas, Matt.
11:39And, you know, Donnie's been in touch
11:40and he says,
11:41tell Matt we really appreciate his advice this year.
11:45Merry Christmas, Donnie.
11:46We're here for you.
11:47Aw, thank you, Matt.
11:49Now, in just a moment...
11:50Feet up, Sherry, now.
11:51There we go.
11:52In just a moment,
11:52McFly's Tom Fletcher and his son Buzz
11:54will be telling us about teaming up with Pudsy,
11:56who's been brought to life in a magical animation
11:59for the very first time.
12:00Plus, Tess Daly reveals how she's feeling
12:02as she prepares to say bye-bye to the ballroom this weekend.
12:06But before we say hello to Tess, Tom and Buzz,
12:09let's just take a moment to celebrate
12:11the Strictly Class of 2025,
12:13ahead of what's said to be an epic final.
12:18The time to dance has arrived.
12:23Enjoy every single minute because it will fly back.
12:28Hey!
12:30Time to instant dance.
12:34I love Strictly, I love live television.
12:37We are officially polishing the glitter balls.
12:41Amber...
12:43Kaz...
12:44..and George...
12:46..will compete to be crowned
12:482025 Strictly Champion.
12:52Ooh!
12:53By joining us on the sofa to talk all things Strictly
12:55and much more,
12:56please welcome Tom Fletcher,
12:58his son Buzz,
12:58and Tess Daly!
13:00Well done!
13:03Perfect so far.
13:05Isn't this lovely?
13:06You know, what it's like.
13:07Truly!
13:08We're going to talk to you two about teaming up with Pudsey
13:11very soon.
13:12That's very exciting.
13:13And Tess, of course,
13:14we've got to celebrate all your time on Strictly.
13:18You've been incredible.
13:19We've got a few surprises, potentially.
13:21Have you?
13:22Just a small few.
13:23Oh, I see.
13:24That's exciting.
13:25But let's talk about the final then on Saturday first
13:28because, I mean, there's standard.
13:30We say this every year, but truly it is.
13:32We say it too.
13:33But this year, I mean, it's just another level.
13:36I think there have been more perfect 40s this year
13:39at this point in the competition
13:40than there have ever been before.
13:42Wow.
13:42So let's remind ourselves
13:44because we've got Karen, haven't we,
13:46and Carlos there,
13:47Amber and Nikita and George and Alexis.
13:51Yes.
13:51This week, they've got a lot to do.
13:53They've got a lot.
13:54They are exhausted.
13:55A lot of prep.
13:56They've got three dancers each in the final.
13:57And they're already tired, of course.
13:59And they're tired, but they're also really excited
14:01because it's a celebration now.
14:03They've made it to the final.
14:04They're in there and, you know,
14:05they've got a one in three chance of winning it.
14:07That's what is really exciting, I think,
14:08is that none of us can call who's going to win.
14:11It's super close.
14:13Yeah.
14:13And just to make it to the final.
14:14Exactly.
14:15It's the achievement in itself.
14:16It really is.
14:17So, you know, it's worth celebrating.
14:18So I think it's going to be a really good show.
14:20But there can only be one winner
14:21and you, Tess Daly,
14:22every year are the person that announces it.
14:24I mean, as if you were watching it at home,
14:26seeing you cling to those cards.
14:28I am.
14:28I'm shaking.
14:29What's going on?
14:30Often those cards are blank.
14:32The winner's name is not on.
14:33We don't have time to fill it.
14:34What? Okay.
14:34But we haven't had time to fill it in.
14:35We've got the result.
14:36And we're sort of cantering myself and Claude.
14:38We're cantering into our position.
14:39In your heels.
14:40In the heels, always running.
14:42On the floor, ready to reveal the winner.
14:44And often it's coming into my earpiece
14:46at the very last second.
14:47And I'm very nervous.
14:49In case it doesn't come.
14:50Can you imagine?
14:51Everyone's got faded breath.
14:53And all of that.
14:53And you're having to really concentrate.
14:55Yes.
14:55And live, our lovely producer
14:56is telling me who the winner is.
14:58And I've had 23 champions.
15:02We've had 23 series in the 21 years.
15:0423 champions have been fed into that year.
15:07Wow.
15:07Thankfully, I've never got it wrong.
15:09And I've never been doing it.
15:09Never, never, ever.
15:10It's a lot of pressure.
15:11Oh, yeah.
15:12Not this time.
15:12Not now.
15:13I shouldn't have said that.
15:14Should I?
15:15And Tom, of course, a big part of the Strictly family.
15:18Yes.
15:18And it was really lovely to see you back on Musicals Week
15:22performing with a special little bear.
15:25Yeah.
15:25Now, that was gorgeous.
15:26It was so nice being back.
15:28Actually, I left on Musicals Week.
15:29I was voted out on Musicals Week in 2021.
15:32So, about, yeah, full circle coming back
15:35and being there with Paddington.
15:36It was really special.
15:37It's such an incredible show.
15:39And, yeah, I feel very lucky that I got to be part of it.
15:42And to be back with Paddington was just amazing.
15:44And to not look at him in the eye
15:46because I just didn't want to cry.
15:47It's so emotional performing with him.
15:49It is.
15:49It's emotional.
15:49I met him and I was emotional too.
15:51Yeah.
15:52Well, I was really glad because Tess asked Paddington for a selfie.
15:55I did.
15:55I've been working on the show for five years
15:58and I don't have a picture with him.
15:59So, when I saw you get a picture with him, I was like, yes.
16:01I had no idea I wasn't supposed to.
16:03He's a big deal.
16:04I did the same thing.
16:05And as you saw the show this week for the first time
16:09and, of course, this has been going on in your house
16:11for a very long time, how was it to see it on stage?
16:14It was just amazing to see the five years of work
16:19that's been put into this.
16:21It was just really special.
16:23Well, that's the thing.
16:24And everyone loves this show.
16:25It's been received so well.
16:26It's got 14 award nominations.
16:28I mean, people are obsessed.
16:31Yeah, I mean, it's just been a bit surreal, to be honest.
16:34You know, it's been in my life for five years.
16:37I've been working on it for five years.
16:38And, yeah, I mean, this is everything you dream of
16:41when you work on something, for it to be received like this
16:43and to have such a warm welcome and response from everyone.
16:45I mean, a lot of people love Paddington.
16:48And, you know, we felt the weight of that responsibility
16:50that we really had to look after this bear.
16:52And, you know, all of us that work on the show
16:55have put our hearts and souls into it.
16:57And, I mean, yeah, I cry every time I watch it.
17:00I'm a mess every time I see the show.
17:02And to sit in the audience now with my own family
17:04and to watch other people enjoy the show,
17:06it has just been the most special thing I've ever,
17:09ever had the privilege of work.
17:10Yeah, well, the care you've put on, into it, shows on stage.
17:13Truly.
17:14I cried when I saw Paddington.
17:15There you go.
17:16There you go. Floods of tears.
17:18Job well done. The proof right there.
17:20Well, from one special bear to another,
17:22we have to talk about this Christmas
17:23because Tom and Buzz are helping to bring Pudsey Bear to life
17:27in a really, really special animation.
17:29Yes, it's called Pudsey and the Thread of Hope
17:31and features a beautiful song performed by Tom and Buzz.
17:34Now, before we chat more,
17:36let's take an exclusive look at the music video.
17:38So when things are getting worse
17:42Locker than the centre of the universe
17:44It's a little love
17:47So don't let go
17:50You're better
17:52Oh, oh, oh, oh
17:59Oh, oh, oh
18:02Oh, oh, oh
18:14The Thread of Hope.
18:15People will be able to hear more on Christmas Eve morning.
18:18It's on the television.
18:19Yes.
18:19Tell us a bit more about the story, then, behind it.
18:22Well, the story follows a young boy called Jay
18:24and he's going through a really difficult time in his life
18:26and is struggling with the loss of a family member
18:29and he meets Pudsey who takes him on this magical adventure
18:32where he meets other children who are going through their own challenges
18:35and shows Jay that he's connected to all of these children through this message of hope
18:39which is what I think Pudsey really stands for.
18:42It was actually really hard writing the story
18:43because I was trying to show all of the amazing work that children in need do
18:47and the truth is they help so many different people in so many different ways
18:51and trying to find one storyline that tells that was actually really hard.
18:55So Jay kind of meets lots of other kids who represent, you know,
18:59the types of children and young people that children in need help.
19:03So, yeah, it's been amazing seeing that and Pudsey be brought to life
19:07through animation for the first time.
19:09It was such an honour.
19:10I've wanted to write for animation for ages
19:11and, you know, so being able to, again, find myself, you know,
19:15with the responsibility of another iconic bear.
19:17I don't know why I've got all these bears in my life at the minute.
19:18The bears just love you.
19:19They just love you.
19:20But, yeah, so it's Pudsey's 40th anniversary
19:22so it feels very special
19:24and to be on on Christmas Eve is really special.
19:27And there's a book as well, we should say, isn't there?
19:29There is a book, yeah.
19:29Well, you know, being a children's author, it just felt like,
19:31after we wrote the story for the animation,
19:34it just felt like the kind of natural next step
19:35was to turn it into a children's book.
19:37And to work on it with Buzz as well, with my own son, was amazing.
19:40It was so special.
19:42One of the main storylines is a father and son storyline
19:44so to be able to kind of heighten the emotion of that
19:47with my own son was pretty special.
19:50We like seeing with each other, don't we?
19:52Yeah.
19:53Buzz, we've got to talk to you about performing with your dad
19:56on the Big Appeal Night for Children in Need.
19:58It wasn't just you guys, it was you and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.
20:01How was that, being on stage?
20:03It just felt amazing.
20:06Like, just really special to see what's been going on
20:10over the past year.
20:13And it's just, it just felt surreal.
20:15Yeah.
20:16It was quite surreal.
20:16I mean, I don't get to perform with an orchestra every day.
20:19So it was, and also I kind of took it for granted.
20:22I was like, oh, Buzz, we're going to go on Children in Need and come and sing.
20:24Will you do that?
20:25It was like, yeah, okay, fine.
20:26And then I was standing there thinking, you know,
20:28I've only performed on Children in Need a handful of times with the band.
20:30And so to be there with my son, it was so special.
20:34And yeah, I feel very lucky that we got to do that together.
20:36Two best mates on stage.
20:38Yeah.
20:38Love to see it.
20:39But the thing is, Buzz, you've been entertaining us for ages
20:43because there's this brilliant clip that went viral.
20:47Do you mind if we show it?
20:48Buzz, you just want to box that.
21:16We actually went back there when you were 10.
21:20So, yeah, that was a long time ago.
21:22I had blue hair then.
21:23Blue hair.
21:24I know, we didn't see that under the camera.
21:26I kept it hidden, yeah.
21:28Well, Tom and Buzz's song, Thread of Hope, is out on Christmas Eve.
21:32And on that morning, you can also watch the animation,
21:34Pudsey and the Thread of Hope, at 10.20 on BBC One and iPlayer.
21:38Now then, of course, we can't have Tess here talking all about the Strictly final
21:42without celebrating her 21 years on Strictly Come Dancing
21:46because, of course, this weekend, her and ballroom bestie Claudia
21:49are leaving the show.
21:51It honestly feels surreal to say this, truly.
21:54Sad.
21:54So, before Tess tells us how she's feeling about saying her goodbyes,
21:57let's remind ourselves of just a few of her many, many highlights.
22:01Please welcome your host, Sir Bruce Forsythe and Tess Daly.
22:10Was that romantic?
22:12Not half.
22:17I slightly was distracted with the wig, I have to say,
22:21and the fake teeth that you rub in.
22:24Sorry, they're on its own teeth, just clarify that.
22:26My teeth!
22:28The condo's got me fired.
22:30It's got me fired, I'm just watching this.
22:41Are you sure that's a good idea?
22:43Absolutely.
22:49Help me!
22:52Go!
22:55Chris!
22:59We thought you deserved something very special.
23:03Two trophies!
23:04Thank you so much!
23:10Thank you!
23:11You're so lovely.
23:12We've got a good little ball each.
23:14Myself and Claude.
23:15Well deserved.
23:16And you know what?
23:17We've had so many messages.
23:19We'll start with Paul, because Paul says,
23:22I remember watching when Tess presented with the latest Sir Bruce,
23:25going back a number of years.
23:26We are going to miss you in our living rooms.
23:29I mean, there's a lot of that sort of thing.
23:31And you know, of course,
23:32if we go back to Sir Bruce's time on the show with you,
23:35he was such a legend of an entertainer, wasn't he?
23:38I mean, I was pinching myself to even be in the same room as him.
23:42I couldn't, you know, I could barely make eye contact.
23:44I was so intimidated by this legend that I'd grown up watching on telly.
23:48And to work with him was, it was so special because he was so generous.
23:52Yeah.
23:52You know, and he'd share his showbiz stories,
23:54and he'd sort of teach me about live television.
23:57And say, don't worry, darling,
23:58they'll forgive you anything if you share it with them at home.
24:00It's live telly, things will go wrong.
24:02Yeah.
24:02It will be chaotic.
24:03Just embrace it.
24:04He was just, yeah, he was just so kind, so wise,
24:07and just wonderful to work with.
24:09And, of course, your other partner in crime,
24:11the wonderful Claudia Rutherman.
24:13What's it going to be like doing that last link
24:16and saying, I guess, yeah, goodbye this weekend?
24:19Well, that is it, because that's the last time on Saturday
24:21that we will stand side by side on that floor,
24:24on the ballroom floor,
24:24because we are on the Christmas Day show,
24:26but we pre-recorded that week ago.
24:28Yeah, right.
24:29So it's the last time we'll stand together.
24:30And I think, I thought to myself,
24:32we'll both be thinking about that moment,
24:33because it can be mayhem
24:35when you're finding out who's the winner.
24:37Yeah.
24:37You're presenting, you know,
24:38they're lifting the glitter ball trophy,
24:40and then we're going to go into our last link,
24:41and it's about them.
24:42But if I catch Claudia's eye,
24:44I might go, because it's the last time.
24:47And, you know, I love her to bits,
24:48and we've had the most amazing time together on the show.
24:51It's been, it's just been wonderful.
24:52Yeah, it's worked brilliantly with you.
24:54Truly, truly, like, so inspiring to see
24:56just two incredible women
24:57just lead a big Saturday night primetime show.
25:00You love her a lot.
25:01She loves you a lot, so much so,
25:02that she left you this message.
25:03Did she?
25:04Here's Claudia.
25:05What do I love most about working with you?
25:08I mean, everything.
25:09We talk about everything.
25:10We laugh.
25:13You've just got my back.
25:14And I am so, so, so lucky
25:17that I got to work on the best Saturday night show with you.
25:20You're my friend for life.
25:22So we will have,
25:24well, I will be less orange,
25:25but we will still be together.
25:27I hope they cut out my arms,
25:29and I love you.
25:30Bye.
25:31Oh, I love her.
25:33I hope she isn't less orange.
25:35You know?
25:36Exactly.
25:37She's brilliant.
25:38You know, the show, of course,
25:39has been a huge part of your family as well.
25:42So he was very hard to track down,
25:45and you might recognise him,
25:47but this lovely young man
25:48wanted to leave a message too.
25:5121 years as the host of Strictly Come Dancing,
25:54and it's been quite the ride.
25:56We started off with Sir Bruce Forsyth,
25:59and we finished with Claudie Gwinkelman, MBE.
26:01But also, it's given us so much joy.
26:04And two kids.
26:05Let's not forget that.
26:07Congratulations on everything
26:08that you've done on the show.
26:09You really have embedded yourself
26:11in the heart of the nation.
26:13There have been some spectacular moments.
26:15It's been an absolute joy
26:17having it in our lives,
26:18and it does genuinely feel
26:19like we're losing a very, very close friend.
26:22But I have no doubt
26:23that you and I will keep dancing!
26:28Very good, very good.
26:30Do you think Fern's auditioning there
26:32for your job?
26:34And when you started the first series
26:36pregnant with Phoebe...
26:38Yeah, with Phoebe.
26:38She's 21 now.
26:40And then Amber came along, of course.
26:412009.
26:42So, you know, the girls have lived it with you.
26:45They have.
26:46And it's all they've known their whole life,
26:48you know, it's sort of...
26:49Because it has been like another family member.
26:51It's, you know, over a third of the year.
26:53They've lost me to Strictly for the weekend,
26:55but they haven't minded
26:56because they've loved the show
26:57and they felt like they're part of it
26:59and, you know, they've enjoyed coming to watch.
27:02So, yeah, it's...
27:03Yeah, it will be different for them, too,
27:05because it's all they've ever known, really.
27:07Since day one.
27:08And how are they feeling,
27:08sort of, you know, building up to Saturday?
27:10Well, they're excited
27:11because they're going to come along and see it,
27:12which will be very special,
27:13having them all there.
27:14That'll be a full-circle moment for me
27:16because, you know, pregnant series one
27:17and then here we are
27:18in the final episode together.
27:20So, yeah, but again,
27:21if I catch Phoebe's eye,
27:22I'm going to go,
27:23I'm not going to look.
27:24Laser focus.
27:25I'm not...
27:25I'm not...
27:26Yeah.
27:27Laser focus, don't make eye go.
27:28Because, yeah,
27:29it will be quite emotional, I think,
27:30because they have really loved it as well.
27:32They've been part of it.
27:33It's been part of the family.
27:34And it wouldn't be right
27:35if it wasn't emotional.
27:36Exactly.
27:37I mean, Strictly,
27:38there's so many incredible moving parts.
27:40Off the top of your head,
27:41if you had to pick one,
27:42what is the main thing you're going to miss
27:44about doing the show?
27:45Oh, my gosh.
27:46I think, for me,
27:49the thing I miss the most is the joy.
27:51It brings so much joy to people.
27:53And being, like, part of that
27:55and sharing that with the viewers at home,
27:57that feels like a gift.
27:58It feels like you're part of something special.
28:00And that, you know,
28:01that is an honour to be a part of that
28:03for so many years.
28:04And so I will miss that.
28:06Our team, our Strictly team,
28:09it may sound a bit cringe,
28:11we are a family
28:12and they have been part of my family
28:14for the 21 years.
28:14We know each other's children.
28:16We've grown up together.
28:17You know, and it hasn't quite hit me yet
28:19that I'm not going to work
28:20with that brilliant team.
28:21Because I love them all.
28:23And you know,
28:24because you've been there.
28:24You've been there, Tom.
28:25You've taken part in the show
28:26and you know
28:27that they are the most wonderful team
28:29and just so welcoming.
28:30Bal said it last week when she left.
28:31She said,
28:32it's like everywhere you turn the studio,
28:33it's like a hug
28:35because, you know,
28:35it's just good vibes.
28:37And that is a gift as well.
28:38So I'll miss them.
28:39I'll miss the viewers
28:40and I'll miss our team.
28:41Well, we wish you and Claudia
28:43all the best
28:44for the last show.
28:45We'll all be watching.
