00:00The Celtics, Adam, took care of the Lakers,
00:02the game you probably were watching closest yesterday.
00:051-11 to 89, another very big game for Jalen Brown,
00:11who just keeps climbing in the odds to win the MVP.
00:13I don't think he's going to win it, but you never know.
00:16I mean, maybe SGA missing some more games could factor into that equation.
00:21But another big game for him yesterday, and without Tatum,
00:23he's really put the team on his shoulder this season, hasn't he?
00:26Yeah, in terms of the MVP race, to me and to anyone and certainly to oddsmakers,
00:31this really comes down to SGA and Jokic, and really it should be SGA.
00:35But to your point, if these guys continue to miss games
00:38and don't hit that 65-game benchmark that is required to be eligible
00:42for postseason awards, at that point, it really does considerably open up the field
00:47to include Jalen Brown, to include Luka Doncic on the other side,
00:51the other guy on that graphic, Kate Cunningham, obviously.
00:53You know, maybe even a Tyrese Maxey, for that matter.
00:56And so it does, you know, ultimately shift to this thing being wide open.
01:01I'm just, I'm not there yet.
01:02Jalen Brown has had a tremendous season, a career year.
01:05He's going to be first-team All-NBA.
01:07Obviously, he was an All-Star starter, and he is going to receive MVP votes.
01:11But to actually win it over an SGA or a Jokic,
01:15short of those guys missing the games that they would have to miss,
01:17I just don't see it.
01:19Those are the guys.
01:20But Brown, tremendous, flirted with yet another triple-double yesterday.
01:24Peyton Pritchard, don't forget about him, went for 30 off the bench.
01:27He has really embraced that role as they have, you know,
01:30reshuffled their roster a little bit, the Simons trade and bringing in Vucevic
01:33and just the way they're staggering their minutes.
01:36But this team continues to win games and hover, you know, be a threat to Detroit,
01:40sitting five-and-a-half back of first place in the Eastern Conference,
01:44winning a couple of games out of the break and biding time for what we all believe
01:48is the eventual return of Jason Tatum, which truly elevates their championship chances,
01:53especially there in that conference.
01:55But L.A., it just lost its cool, man.
01:57I mean, Austin Reeves, he got a technical.
02:00The team had three technicals.
02:02Luka was strong out of the gate, real quiet in the second half.
02:06LeBron didn't do a whole hell of a lot.
02:08Not the best way to honor the bronze statue that was unveiled of championship head coach
02:14Pat Riley with so many Lakers legends in the building.
02:18The team had three technicals.
