00:04you're watching discovery on demand
00:12so when we left new york a lot of people think that i stopped building bikes that's the furthest
00:17thing from the truth i've probably built more bikes uh since i left new york than i did when
00:23i was in new york i never stopped building bikes and i probably never stopped period
00:37so
01:09good all right man i'll see you tomorrow all right man red safe
01:13have a good night jimbo thanks you too paulie
01:36so is the ferrier coming today actually tomorrow i couldn't today we have grayball
01:41what time is grayball one o'clock so i'll finish the animals and then uh i guess i'll swing by
01:49and
01:49pick up you guys and we'll go together you're heading out now are you gonna go no i'm gonna go
01:54i gotta get going i think this has been a great move especially for paul because
02:00he loves the smaller shop you know he's got this quaint little shop there this you know basically
02:07little hobby farm that we can you know take in these animals but for pa it's like a dream again
02:13you know he's got animals back he went back to really his old school roots of building the way
02:18he wanted to and he loves it you know he leaves for work happy every day he comes home happy
02:24it's really
02:24been an incredible transition for him in terms of just how much more relaxed he is so we had an
02:31event over the occ roadhouse to celebrate our veterans brian stern from grayball rescue was
02:36receiving an award that night later on the evening when the event was over brian and i met up we
02:41started talking and i had mentioned to him about a bike and how it would help bring awareness to his
02:44organization and what they do yeah so it should be brian and a bunch of other people up there my
02:48name is
02:49brian stern i'm the ceo and founder of grayball rescue we're a donor-funded veteran-led international
02:56rescue organization we rescue americans and allies not just americans but that's our priority from war
03:02zones conflict zones kidnappings hostages and also natural disasters so we're about 140 people all in
03:08we have people all over the place we have people deployed right now we work all over the world
03:12uh anything you see on tv that's a crappy place where people might be in trouble we're either been
03:18there already there right now or on our way right now uh like that so we are really busy entirely
03:23donor-funded we do not charge money carrillo over there he's the first american victim of war crimes
03:28alive since world war ii we broke him out of jail from russia the russians had him tortured him for
03:3237
03:33days broke him out of captivity which is the first time that that ever happened to russia and for fun
03:37we
03:37did that 11 more times that's us i'm gonna show the video which does everything we say sounds kind of
03:43not believable which is why we record everything because we have the receipt for everything that we
03:47do my team and i have done over 600 missions all over the world we rescued over 7 000 people
03:53from
03:53hurricane ian to maui to afghanistan to ukraine russia israel gaza lebanon all over the place sudan
04:01we like to say that we work at the speed of need when americans are stuck
04:04we're in trouble someone has to show up i would be dead if it wasn't for brian who saved my
04:10life
04:11knowing that we've like we've saved these people from something that being caught in a war conflict
04:17it's uh it's very very rewarding feels amazing to bring american citizens home our countrymen these
04:22are our neighbors grable can't walk out of the parking lot without money without donations they
04:27can't fly overseas and help american they can't pull a hurricane victim out without gas chainsaws vehicles
04:32and donations pay for all that we can have all the things that we need but if i can't afford
04:38to
04:38thank you yes it just sounds like a good movie you know it sounds like something that we watch on
04:43tv
04:44and that's the one thing that i never ever ever ever want to do when somebody needs help
04:48is be a spectator what you do is just so incredibly
04:55um heartwarming and uh brave and everything else and emotional to be able to see that
05:00um it's really where it's an honor for us to be here truthfully so we've done tv for 18 years
05:06i mean
05:06this is really heartfelt here you know i'm psyched you know what i mean like this is really cool
05:11and when we do stuff too we have to be into it you know what i'm saying we have to
05:16feel
05:16that this is something that we are honored to do in a sense you know
05:36yeah well you know when we got back to the shop um the guys were there and i really wanted
05:42these guys to
05:43know exactly what gray bull does because i think that you know if you just mentioned you're doing
05:48a bill opposed to explaining you know what's involved in the build and everything for me
05:54you get more into it once i gave them the kind of the briefing of what these guys do you
06:00know we
06:00just started building the bike at the end of the week when everybody's supposed to get paid here i'm
06:05keeping the money keeping the money going straight to them well tell them i said
06:09pretty good though emotional yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah that's great people do that all right we got
06:20to go to work well you know me and jim been building bikes quite a few bikes to be honest
06:24with you since
06:24we moved down here in florida but you know when you're doing a project like gray bull kind of
06:30get the band back together and because this is a lot more involved smt where's that our wheels
06:37they come with the tire on you don't have to worry about marring the rim all up mounting the tire
06:45i'm probably a burr on this
06:50power tools you got a power tool
07:07the shop lights up when mikey's here you know it's a different atmosphere uh for me it's a
07:12different feeling because you know i need somebody to play with and he he's the most fun
07:18so um when he's here um most of the time he's hard to find but when he is here
07:28he just lets off a glow you know let's go over this exhaust i i want to do like a
07:33long exhaust
07:34like come out of here come come back to about here yeah it'd be cool if i did like something
07:39where it came down like this and kind of bent over the cone a little bit and then i can
07:43straight pipe it
07:44then kind of follow that i was thinking maybe like a teardrop uh slash cut on the pipe you know
07:50give it like an aggressive look probably make it look like it's you know going fast sitting still you
07:56know okay do it like a bit of tube drop there we go get a little bit of leverage so
08:02we can like
08:02pinnacle it around before i get through oh man some electrolytes here
08:16so it's my first day on this build i'm just kind of looking at this frame in my head i'm
08:20just like
08:20i'm pulling out that drawer of archive like okay what pipes do i want to build it's challenging when
08:25when you're doing that stuff on the fly like we're hand making most of these parts right here in house
08:30so what do you think the hardest bike we ever built was let me ask you a question and tell
08:34you the answer yeah why don't you just give me a hint uh dead people dead people oh the hearse
08:42bike
08:42oh oh yeah so he still uses that i know he does but tell me that wasn't
08:48was that crazy i just he just texted me you know what's funny we had to test that we've had
08:52like
08:52three or four different front ends on that i remember johnny read that he was the biggest heaviest one
08:56in the shop um being back here with with some of the guys um it's it's really a lot of
09:01fun we haven't
09:02been all together in the same room in quite some time and um you know i first came here was
09:07it was
09:07kind of story time you know we have a million of them um and just reminiscing about some of the
09:12crazy
09:13stuff we did some of the funny stuff we did um but you know at some point we got to
09:18get to work
09:21how you gonna get out those stitches that's the reason why it might hurt a little bit
09:35so working with paul now versus back in new york uh it's different the stress level for everybody is
09:42is not existence for the most part we just enjoy working together having fun
09:47he's teaching me things i'm not a bike builder by trade so he's been showing me what's going on
09:52and we've been building together just doing really cool stuff and working with some cool people down
09:57here in florida that we've met a lot more steps this piece next is going to be really a pain
10:01in the
10:02ass it is worse than all this because you my friend are an imbecile people always ask what do you
10:10like
10:10about working with paul is he really like to see on tv how great how great was jackie gleason
10:17so i think what we need to do is make a plate in here okay this way come around
10:22and fill in this fill in this area right and then anthony made an oil tank we'll see how the
10:30oil tank
10:30and the battery box to fill this area because it's stretched so far yeah it looks real empty in there
10:36right uh we're they're working on the front end so uh i i think we're doing really good um again
10:43anthony's
10:44building the gas tank that's kind of like i think that's an area that none of us are qualified in
10:49other than nancy so uh but the fender's not done we got a lot of fabrication to do
10:55on that fender it's a real long bike uh the frame's been stretched so uh so yeah i'm getting back
11:01to
11:15my name's anthony keeling i'm a company called tinworks inc i've been helping paul for about
11:19two or three years now off and on i build frames for him and stuff and
11:23today i'm helping him trying to get this bike done helping out and i'm building the gas tank
11:28mount the oil tank battery box it's gonna be pretty nice build when it's done
11:46why do you all make that look when i walk in like there's something because we're happy to see you
11:49you're never happening all morning everybody's where's joan where's joan oh yeah yeah where's
11:54joan we hope she got hit i don't know but i already missed her really yeah so joan paul's wife
12:00most
12:01people don't know she's actually the ceo of orange county chopper so she keeps us running smooth and
12:05keeps us on point i mean a lot of times she'll stop by the shop to see what paul and
12:09i are up to
12:10or not up to she makes sure we're on point with delivering the bikes on time and what the client
12:14is
12:14looking for what do you think mike we've been driving it yeah we've got a lot of people working
12:20on it all at once so like the old days you know yeah well that's what i feel like i
12:25just walked in
12:26i'm like wait wait wait i'm gonna time warp you know it's awesome that's a great tank right you
12:37know what i was just gonna say it actually fits perfectly the whole thing perfectly yeah i like
12:43it a lot you know you know me i'd be it's almost the same way when you're looking down this
12:48way
12:48the tank's a little wider but it's oh it's so close really great job yeah no it really does it's
12:53a great
12:53job yes speaking of custom how's my custom bike coming along fall you don't have some place to be
12:58you got to feed the chickens maybe or the cow we don't have chickens just for the record oh get
13:03them
13:11where's jimbo hey don't sneak up on me i'm sorry uh what it was got mikey me i'm working with
13:17mikey
13:18in the rear oh great me and you drop out all right all right here set first oh what this
13:27let me do this
13:37we're having like a slow start this morning i think it's mainly because of michael
13:41he's late this morning two days in a row one more time i'm gonna have to can him
13:46any conversation with the camera guy you better get on the stick all right
13:55good pep gun
14:03paul had some surgery done to his hand and had some stitches so the doctor is supposed to be stopping
14:07by which is good because to get paul to go to the doctor and to get us to do anything
14:11when we're
14:11done working is tough it's hot it's hot oh i drove an hour to get here did you really yeah
14:16i must
14:17love you a lot i'm like a coward when it comes to this like when they cut it and they
14:22stitch it didn't
14:23bother me at all but now that it looks great yeah yeah but look at how this has grown over
14:28that how
14:29you're going to get at those stitches that's the reason why it might hurt a little bit
14:33you sure you want to do it here yeah it's your hand not mine yeah you're good yeah okay that's
14:39fine let's do it mike are you working here yeah yeah huh how'd this happen you don't want to let
14:44anyone know no i don't talk about it i don't i don't want to talk i think my father is
14:49getting to
14:49the age where like he's causing himself embarrassing accidents but doesn't want to tell anybody
14:53so he came in one day with a uh with a a real gash in his hand and he kind
14:59of didn't want to tell
15:00anybody how it happened you know but it's sitting there like frankenstein's uh you know stitches in
15:04his head so it's kind of hard not to give him a hard time about what's going on kind of
15:09like the uh
15:10the giant dent in the front of his truck you know he blasted something with that he i don't think
15:16he
15:16wants to tell anyone they might take his license away you know come on i got a brown paper bag
15:22and
15:22give it a go you gotta give it the old college try and every time i pull it he's angry
15:26thank you
15:27hey yeah boom he said it what do you do if we go to your place over there what are
15:33you gonna do
15:33i just i'll probably open it up a little bit open it up yeah i have to look at this
15:39it's
15:39now we'll just let we'll let it all right hold on we're just gonna let's clean it up here made
15:46a wd
15:47wd got tons of it i need you can you worry we don't have the news park right no right
15:50i'll bill
15:51you later all right let me know if you need me all right i'll see you later i love you
15:56thank you
15:57love you too appreciate it he's my boy i gotta make house calls i gotta make house calls it is
16:01what
16:01it is that's what you do you take care of your friends
16:04uh as far as the bars on this bike um drew made these bars actually makes quite a few different
16:25sets of handlebars and this one set of bar was very unique and i really liked it so i had
16:33asked
16:33them to fabricate a set of those for gray ball ah i'm not digging it man because it's these are
16:46going
16:46up in the air i wanted them to come down this way because anything and uh you know we got
16:52it on put
16:53them on and they just didn't cut it uh first of all the stretching the rake and everything uh the
16:59position of the handlebars just and whatnot it didn't work so uh so we had to go to option b
17:06which
17:06was you know set of kind of pull back drag bars uh and even then we had to make like
17:11eight inch
17:13spacers to bring them up over the tank when you're building custom bikes of every frame that we do
17:17has got like a different rake on it normally when i build my zeus bars it's for like a stock
17:22rake so i
17:23just went ahead and built them for that thinking i could just you know change the angles and they're
17:26cool like on a stock rake but with that 40 degree angle it just wasn't looking right you know what
17:31i'm saying it was just like real sharp edges and like everything on the bike was kind of like
17:35smooth so it wasn't really flowing what'd you cut yourself yesterday
17:53all right all right you ready brother yes sir yes sir not you nope nope you my friend
18:02oh it's the little things that make you laugh you know how's that look centered
18:10just tack that corner in there if i get a shock you're getting punched man
18:17ow oh all right get a little more tack not not on that side just on the inside
18:25you know what i mean bro roll it i think it's got to go over that way a little bit
18:30but i think
18:30it's centered right downhill and over the hill of course he doesn't put his glasses on right now
18:35no all right you know what he's the new guy you gotta ride yeah i gotta you know put my
18:40time in
18:41he's got to get his initiation man he i'm easy on him yes so
19:07it's already over it's already over yeah all right let's see back to the drawing board
19:32you always prepare for these things but it never ever works out
19:40me and mike have kind of a chemistry you know so no matter what we do together we have fun
19:44um so the sissy bar entailed quite a bit of work i'm down
19:51i'm down you're gonna you're gonna burn someone's eyebrows off you know what happens we've made a
19:56bunch of sissy bars together and usually we get halfway and have to start from the beginning
20:02this is one of the rare times we didn't have to so that was kind of an accomplishment right no
20:08it
20:08was good it was good i enjoyed oh great i don't want to tell him until thanks mike appreciate you
20:14brother yep you be you too i'll see you um in hell
20:20so now that the paint and powder coat for the gray bowl bike is out it's time for a little
20:23rnr a little
20:24us time so paul's got a friend who owns an airboat place with crocodiles and other stuff so it should
20:30be pretty interesting so we're gonna go out check that out and have some fun my name is david schlum
20:35i'm one of the owners out here at wild bills airboat tours uh paul senior he's been coming out here
20:40for
20:40a couple years hanging out with me i got one of his bikes in my house he's a really stand
20:45-up guy this is
20:46a day out for us uh we usually almost on every show we do we take a day where we
20:53have a good time
20:54uh so we decided to come over here with dave
21:12you know i'm coming here today it's so funny because it's really peaceful and it's just a
21:17break from you know everyday life between the shop you know the business side working out the farm which
21:23i love you know all of a sudden you come out here and you forget about everything it's just a
21:27great
21:27break i have to admit it i was a little bit scared of paul driving in the boat because uh
21:31we've all
21:32seen his truck you know and uh he has no fear whatsoever like he doesn't it's amazing you would
21:39think as you get older you would get a little bit you know more fearful of things i think he's
21:43actually
21:44gotten worse when it comes to that zero fear just hit it we all came out of our seats but
21:49it was so much
21:50fun this place was always an adventure we brought haley in i've been watching her on her instagram
22:05for quite some time now she's pretty amazing person she does she tells you like it is she's a little
22:11raw
22:11what she does what i admire about her is she she'll get her front end that's bent and twisted and
22:17rusted and
22:17she'll get an old rim or old whatever it may be and she'll fix it when the girl comes in
22:23i'm gonna
22:23have her work with you christian she's like really good with stringers you know look you ever see her
22:28on on uh instagram he showed me he showed me the uh i checked out click yeah i came in
22:33and uh they
22:34put me to work with um with haley and uh i wasn't very familiar with her working together and she's
22:39she's you know she got the trucker mouth going cool girl this girl's like laugh
22:46you're amazing all right i would have thought for sure they'd be the like well listen i might not
22:53be right no that's that's how many choppers do you think you've built a lot oh yeah we did over
23:01a
23:01thousand just on the show yeah it's always the most dicey thing is putting the springs on haley's
23:08fitting right in like one of the team she's really good she's done front ends before in springer so we
23:13knew that would be a a good place to have her start yeah she's knocking it out yeah so this
23:18morning we came in uh haley and i were working on getting the front brake totally situated um a lot
23:24of spacing it's a lot of math involved actually um so we're we're just about done with that so yeah
23:30we're off to a good start a little better than yesterday i would say i found bikes is something
23:35like instinctively i couldn't put my finger on it i just had to be on a bike i knew that
23:39it was something
23:40i had to do but all the bikes like all the stock bikes for whatever reason that was like some
23:44intuition or something that was going on where i didn't like any of the stock bikes either so
23:48he notices what i'm doing which a lot of people they don't notice that kind of stuff they just want
23:53to see paint and chrome and then that's what constitutes a build but obviously there's no
23:57chroming really around me and so we got to make do with what we got and we're making our own
24:01parts
24:01and uh he gets it he sees that hurry up go fast dude look at that spring i don't want
24:08to hold
24:15uh so today jim and i are just working on some odds and ends i got some wiring i'm doing
24:20uh just
24:21making sure everything's you know tight locked uh ready to go all right so i think we got most of
24:26it
24:28yeah jim had received the uh the paint yesterday and he noticed there was a little difference in
24:33in the shade of the gray so we called paul in see what he thought of it when i came
24:38in the tanks were
24:39in here and the colored gray that was on the gas tanks opposed to the bars and the other stuff
24:46that
24:47we used for accent uh on the front end in the in the primary uh was totally different color well
24:53the
24:53tins and stuff came in yesterday the tins oh yeah they look amazing but i think we have an issue
25:00so let me grab one i can see it already yep that's the issue
25:08ken did another amazing job on the paint it's amazing let me grab you a piece so we can hold
25:14it next to it so you can see what the that guy is just ah insane he's like a professional
25:20well
25:20yeah he's like i don't know how we got him yeah oh yeah right what's he doing a piece you
25:27can hold
25:27next to it you can definitely see the difference no my god it's way different yeah it is it's it's
25:32too much to leave it's a nice gray but it's just not the same gray but there's so much of
25:36it on the
25:36bike you're going to notice it um there was you know a few things we had to take off the
25:43primary uh
25:44handlebars risers uh part of the springer front end um battery box uh all to get re-powder coated
25:51with this new powder color that we're we're using the new powder coat why don't you give them a coin
25:55yeah they're right down the street hopefully they're near there and we can do something with it
26:01uh i mean it doesn't seem like we got to take that this that's going to be the biggest pain
26:07yeah front
26:07end well just just the just the spring side and our front end bars risers primary
26:16how can i help you hey it's jim from occc how you doing good how are you good thanks i
26:21got you on
26:21speakerphone with paul and christian hey so we just got some tins in for a bike we're building
26:29and the powder coat we had done previously to the bike is not matching at all it's just way too
26:35different so i wanted to see if you guys could come down with your your sample pack and and we
26:40can see if we can match it up and get get this fixed yeah absolutely we can have that way
26:44right
26:44now yeah uh give your heads up so you can think about it on your way over it's going to
26:48have to
26:49be a quick turn and burn like tomorrow yeah that's not a problem yeah cool yeah head on over you
26:54know
26:55where we're at right that was easy you should have said today once they get here we take this stuff
27:00off
27:01okay we could start putting this stuff on yeah i mean we could start taking the stuff off now or
27:05we just want to get here so what do you want to hit first you want to take all the
27:08i think the bar
27:09controls the stuff off and we'll just have to do a little by little because these bolts don't come
27:13all the way out of my correct which ones these these do what they do yeah all right yeah barely
27:22so how many times did you put the bike together
27:28hey we're still not hey how are you yeah good to see you guys thanks for coming out so like
27:33any
27:34custom build with a car a bike a house or whatever it may be there's going to be issues the
27:38powder
27:38coat and the paint the gray versions just didn't match there was too much of an inconsistency to let
27:43it go so we had to get another powder coater to come in and fix it and do it really
27:48quick and
27:48fortunately cq coatings did that the real way to do it is do the powder coat and have the paint
27:52not matched the powder coat but we didn't do it that way that's all right so that'll work that
27:57color will work yeah i can get this today from our supplier i'll pick it up and we can have
28:00the
28:00parts done by tonight yeah that'll work i'll give you a call if something changes that's great that's
28:05great now we appreciate you guys running and getting done so quick yeah let's get the part over with
28:11it's got to go yeah we got plenty of room right it's got to go like this yeah yeah so
28:18here just put this
28:19in here if i hold like that
28:27think part remember it would slide off of there so you got to have like dead on so me and
28:32christian
28:32were taking the springer part uh not for the first time and uh we're using this this tool that we
28:38used
28:38to use man we used it for years and years back in the old shop even and i was compressing
28:42the spring
28:43that pulls the tension on the springs so that you could release it uh and and take the springs off
28:50and i pulled the the whole stud out where the stud should have stayed just enough should it came off
28:55so there was nothing holding that spring in and he still had it compressed and i noticed that the
28:59spring was bowing uh christian started moving away and he said uh you need to hurry up and uh when
29:07i
29:07looked at the the spring on the triple between the triple trees was um almost bent like a u and
29:15i mean
29:15there was a lot a lot of pressure underneath that spring so i tried to get them to go fast
29:19fast you
29:20know loosen it get it off and as soon as he said that it let go and uh before i
29:25could even get that
29:26totally out of my mouth the thing went whipping across dude look at that spring i don't want home
29:34wow well that'll work you all right holy crap right there's good that thing hit me right in the wrist
29:40bro you all right keep going fast uh it hit me it hit me in the hand you know i
29:49could still feel it
29:49we got a red mark there but i guess it could have been worse i mean that thing went whipping
29:53as a matter
29:53of fact we didn't see where the one piece went jim found it on the floor afterwards that was the
29:59part
29:59that i didn't see we looked up at the ceiling and there's a hole in the ceiling um so luckily
30:05i mean it would have knocked teeth out could have been at the dentist getting new teeth because the
30:09pressure that that had to be able to almost stick into the ceiling it's funny that's my guessing
30:16pretty much lucked out there
30:24hey what's going on how many uh-oh really i'll tell you you did a nice job yeah because usually
30:32there's a lot of orange peel in here that's yeah it's very really nice job thanks now that we got
30:38the powder coat back you know we need to get the we need to get it back together and if
30:42something else
30:43unexpectedly comes up which usually does we could be in trouble bye guys thanks thank you thank the
30:50team for us yeah you know sometimes uh putting a motorcycle together is pretty darn tedious uh a lot
30:56of nuts and bolts and knickknacks that you got to put together and it takes time and it's it's not
31:01exactly a big hurdle but um you know it's something that needs to be done and we're having a lot
31:08of fun
31:08you're doing it so you can get this side if this side straight uh get it lined up on this
31:14side
31:15that ain't bad oh thanks you're probably old right that looks pretty good actually
31:20yeah we were talking about the other day remember yeah we're pretty much getting caught up um
31:25kind of it's kind of difficult when everybody kind of sort of kind of works in the same area you're
31:32kind of banging to but we we're we've been coming along we got the primary pretty much done
31:36uh got the covers on there uh al got the light all hooked up so we got a little bit
31:42more electric
31:42work to do probably another couple at least a couple hours of everything got to get the oil tank on
31:46run
31:47the oil lines and and the rest of that stuff but i think that we're uh i think we're on
31:51schedule i don't
31:52like to say that because every time i say that something goes wrong but but i think we're okay i
31:58mean
31:58everybody's believe it or not even know we're on top of each other everybody's getting their part done
32:04yeah it's pretty it's it's it's cool how like every time you put a piece on like the headlight
32:10changes it you know the seat changes it that good they're not as well they're definitely gonna like
32:18this look like it's kink you know we're gonna do right sounds good
32:45you did good mike thanks
32:49are we just gonna friggin send it or what we're gonna send it bro
32:56send it the only way isn't it i think i'm a freak
33:15yeah so we got the bike off the lift sounding great those rims look great man
33:21yeah wow the rims really smt wheels look good boy it looked good and uh christian took it uh down
33:28the road and back just to see how the clutch and everything which which was good uh the issue which
33:33actually we've seen as soon as we got it off the lift the steering needs to be uh shortened because
33:39it's hitting the gas tank so what we're gonna have to do is it's an old school chopper thing because
33:45you never really used to put stops on there you're either drill and tap it or put a chain on
33:50there
33:50or whatnot so um once you know once we figure out where that's got to go and drill it um
33:56hopefully
33:57uh take it out one more time i think i'm gonna take it up one more time not a christian
34:00did it
34:01and uh and and it should be good for the unveil tomorrow night hopefully but as long as there's
34:07nothing else going on holding in front of gray bowl and brian and their team as well as our team
34:12and
34:12uh it was amazing uh we've built a lot of bikes for different organizations over the years
34:23uh but this uh this gray bull bike is really something near and dear and something really
34:28uh special to all of us i think mike hey where are you mike hey what are you doing back
34:40there i was just
34:43inventory he's doing some inventory we really didn't have much time to spare at all uh it was
34:49you know the day of the event we're wrapping this bike up we're we're doing the steering chains
34:54making sure everything's good for the unveil everything's running all right and um we really
34:58you know we and we're used to it you know from back in the day we were always under some
35:03sort of
35:03crunch or deadline you know i'm used to it personally i think mikey is as well um and so we
35:09just worked
35:09and you just keep going until you get it done and we did you got one shot to do this
35:15why because
35:17where you drill and tap this hole on both sides yeah but you could adjust the chain with the link
35:23yeah but if you go if you go too long that's a long link then you could go too long
35:29then it's no
35:30involved to where you want it and then and then right punch it out and if you do it it
35:35up then
35:36you go the other way but then you're going at this turn radius yeah right i can't do the left
35:42i can't turn like blue no just loosen that a little bit yeah you could do that too
35:49flattened it more with the spacers you use the spacers and the chain
35:54you know what i'm saying in a vice where's mike hey three four five six man that right bam right
36:02there well you know it's really nice and mellow working with my dad now you know he instead of
36:07uh yelling at me he just kind of breaks my a little bit and um it's really nice because he's
36:14very old
36:14now you know so i think he needs me in some way shape or form i don't know how i'm
36:19worthless on a bull
36:21with the book with the uh motorcycle and the when the motorcycle's in the fabricating you know but
36:27i just really enjoy being around it now
36:32you've got the christian sure we'll go to uh me no
37:13so
37:15So the bike, like most of the times, time was of the essence, and we were running a little behind,
37:20but we were going to get it done.
37:21So we were able to finish it, which is good because it allows us to go out and see some
37:25of the vendors here at the St. Pete Bike Fest.
37:27We had some friends here, like Gray Bull, Jay from Operation Healing Heroes, and Talon from CQ, who's our new
37:33powder coder.
37:34So it was good to be able to go out, spend some time with them, and just relax a little
37:37bit after getting the bike done.
37:39You know, the unveils are always great, but it's even better when we get to do them at the OCC
37:43Roadhouse.
37:43The reveal was so nerve-wracking, to be honest with you, because even though you think that this is an
37:50excellent bike and it fits perfectly, you still never really know what the client has in their mind.
37:56So the Gray Bull unveil went well.
37:58Joan and I got out there, got the crowd ready.
38:01We brought Brian up.
38:03Brian talked about Gray Bull.
38:04Joan talked about Gray Bull.
38:06And then Brian showed everybody a video.
38:08It was the first time the video has been made public.
38:10The Gray Bull team hadn't seen it.
38:11They fired it up.
38:12Everybody turned around from Gray Bull.
38:14The crowd was quiet.
38:15You could hear a pin drop because everybody was paying attention to that video.
38:18We rolled right into Ukraine, and that was a humanitarian crisis unto itself.
38:22We've done 68 American babies from the war in Ukraine.
38:25Oh, my baby.
38:27Thank you, everyone.
38:28Babies in a war zone on life support and incubators gives you gray hair.
38:34Several Americans have come back home after being held hostage by Russian forces in Ukraine.
38:39I would be dead if it wasn't for Brian.
38:42He saved my life.
38:43Without Brian, I would still be there.
38:47The United States and U.S. citizens need Gray Bull very simply because more Americans are held at risk today
38:54than ever before.
38:55And no one's coming.
38:57I like to be able to say we're coming.
38:59My greatest fears have now come true, which is having to say no.
39:03We have way more people asking us for help than we can afford, and that's because we're donor funded.
39:09If we do not have money, we cannot do what we do.
39:12This operation is logistically very expensive.
39:16If there's no donations, there's no money to execute evacuations or rescues.
39:22We can have all the things that we need, but if I can't afford to take a guess, it just
39:26sounds like a good movie.
39:27And that's the one thing that I never, ever, ever, ever want to do when somebody needs help is be
39:32a spectator.
39:35So the video gets done.
39:37We're pumping everybody up.
39:38You hear the bike coming.
39:40You hear Paul revving it up, coming around the corner.
39:42He pulls it in.
39:43It's a long bike.
39:44It's over 11 feet long.
39:45So riding that in, Paul killed it as always.
39:48Pulled it in front of Gray Bull and Brian and their team as well as our team, and it was
39:52amazing.
39:58Audience was so receptive, so I was really glad to see that.
40:01But as soon as the bike pulled out and you saw their faces, we knew we nailed it.
40:08Because they could not have been happier with the bike.
40:12So it really, in the end, after all the anxiety, turned out to be awesome.
40:17So after the unveil and everybody was checking out the bike, we invited all of Gray Bull back over to
40:21the shop to talk to us and see where the bike was made.
40:24I think it's beautiful.
40:25I think it's beautiful.
40:26It definitely, you know, balance it.
40:28It's a balance.
40:33You know, the thing of it is, every bike that we build tells a story.
40:37And I think that people that we've done bikes for 20 years ago, so they still have the same bike.
40:43And they take it to events.
40:45You know, it's always an attraction.
40:46People go to the bike before they go to a nice car.
40:48Cory looked at this and we were just ecstatic.
40:51Something that was an American icon.
40:53I think Orange County Choppers to be able to build something like this.
40:55Bring notoriety to what we do.
40:57It's been a blessing.
40:59This is really going to help us working with Orange County Choppers.
41:02This really draws a lot of attention to the charity.
41:04And once we can draw that attention, once people learn about what we do and why it's necessary, that's super
41:10helpful to the charity.
41:11We're really grateful.
41:12And thank you, thank you, Orange County Choppers, for picking Great Ball, getting our word out there.
41:18Super excited.
41:18And you absolutely nailed exactly what we were going for.
41:21Thank you, OCC.
41:24Great Ball.
41:27Wait a minute, wait a minute.
41:29That was louder than OCC.
41:31That's really good.
41:31Let's leave.
41:31We'll see you next time.
41:34Bye.
41:38Bye.
