00:02Welcome back to sports everybody. We start with the elite Pan Am Cycling Championships as Trinidad and Tobago picked up
00:08four medals so far at the competition. The latest being gold by Nicholas Paul in the men's Kieran. He is
00:13following on from Tino Campbell's gold in the scratch race, bronze in the team's sprint and bronze by Akeem Campbell
00:20in the scratch race.
00:22Trinidad and Tobago has produced some top quality cyclists over the years and they continue to reap rewards on the
00:28world stage. The powerful team of Zion Pulido, Nicholas Paul and Kwesi Brown showed once again why they are a
00:34force to be reckoned with. They secured the bronze medal competing in the men's team sprint after getting the better
00:40of Mexico. Canada won the gold and Colombia took silver.
00:44Meantime, the men's team pursuit managed to lower the national record further to 4 minutes, 9.157 seconds from yesterday's
00:544 minutes, 10.769 second clocking.
00:58On to the women's sprint qualifying, Macaero Wallace, Phoebe Sandy and Cairo Williams in the mix. They each got through
01:05to the round of 16, Wallace clocking a brisk time of 10.817 seconds and got through to the quarterfinals.
01:25Over to the Kieran, Nicholas Paul having all the hard work to do coming out from the back to secure
01:30spot in the semifinals and this is what he did.
01:57Paul qualifying in a second and he would improve that position in the semifinals.
02:16Meantime, it was easy pickings for Jacin Filip as well.
02:19When the runners move, it's hard to control the bike. He took the Trinitario Corridor in the first position,
02:30holding the mark there, the estadounidense corridor. Let's see if Argentina or Mexico or the United States pass to the
02:39next.
02:41Key to meet it to the final.
02:51And Akim Campbell was not to be left out. He secured a top three spot in the men's scratch race.
02:56Sergio DeFoore, TV6 Paul.
02:58So nice to see Jacin Filip still has it in him. Meanwhile, here's how Nicholas Paul went on to win
03:04gold.
03:04Jacin Filip had to settle for fourth spot.
03:08Here's how the sprint begins. These two runners are accelerating very quickly.
03:13The track of the Philly of Trinidad and Tobago. Campana, Campana.
03:17Let's see if he reaches his teammate, Nicholas Paul.
03:21How fast the track of Trinidad and Tobago. Kevin Quintero is doing his own.
03:27He's going to turn the straight. Let's see.
03:30At the final, Trinidad and Tobago stay with the series.
03:50Always a poor racing moment when you hear the national anthem.
03:54Well, following her win in the women's scratch race,
03:56Tenille Campbell said she was happy to make her supporters proud.
04:00It felt pretty good. I used this race more or less.
04:03I used to feel the track a bit to my competitors and to also feel the gear to have an
04:08idea what to use for the other races.
04:10To whom do you dedicate this first place?
04:12My family. Yeah, my country.
04:16Yeah, you know, for me, I'm really passionate about the endurance program.
04:21I mean, we had a team sprint here. I mean, a team pursuit here today for quite some while.
04:27So, you know, to have it back on the program is really nice.
04:30She outlined her plans for the future.
04:34This is a qualifier for the Olympics. You know, this is our first qualifier.
04:39So to win the scratch race means I also got the spot for the world.
04:43So we have a couple more races coming up and looking forward to it.
04:50The T20 World Cup match.
04:52And looking forward to it, you know, this is really fun.
04:52So unless you like that's the end, you can get it.
