00:00Sudin played a pivotal role in the production of three of the top four Roadmarch contenders this year.
00:07Encore by Marshall Montano, Capital by Mikel Tasia featuring Patrice Roberts, and Roadman by Bungee Garlin.
00:15Sudin was also responsible for Love on the Road by Marcus Braveboy.
00:20Speaking with TV6, Sudin said he felt relieved knowing that Encore had won Roadmarch, even while competing against his other
00:28productions.
00:28Being involved in three or four different camps, competing against or competing for the same trophy or for the same
00:36title, is a lot mentally and physically.
00:41The producer explained that balancing loyalties required careful diplomacy.
00:45With songs in different camps, he was often required to sign off on decisions while remaining neutral.
00:52He said it was a very interesting space to be a part of the Marshall Camp, the Bungee Camp, and
00:58the Tasia and Patrice Camp, and knowing everyone's mission was the same goal.
01:04He noted that Montano's camp in particular maintained an intense schedule, stretching straight into Ash Wednesday, with post-carnival engagement
01:14still being planned.
01:15For Sudin, Encore represented more than just another release.
01:20With a song like Encore, it is a bold statement to make.
01:24Even the song itself is a kind of, you know, we did good, but they say we're chasing greatness, and
01:30we're going to give it all its testament to what actually happened.
01:34So to actually get it over the line with a song like that, and a title like that, it feels
01:39real, real good.
01:40The season, however, took an unexpected turn when Bungee Garlin officially entered Roadman into the Roadmarch race.
01:47Despite previously indicating that he would not.
01:51In my mind, he was never going to enter, so when he entered, it felt kind of strange because now
01:56I need to back a next song.
01:58Because although I was promoting the song, I knew it wasn't up for Roadmarch.
02:05So there was a sense of ease at the back of my mind where, okay, cool, I'll run with the
02:11Encore and the Capitol and see how it goes and things.
02:15But now, when Bungee decided last minute to throw his hat in the ring, I was like, wow.
02:21You know, because we had multiple conversations about him not doing it.
02:25And as he said in interviews, it's really a last minute thing.
02:28And despite the competitive tension, Sudeen likened the experience to a parent watching children compete.
02:36Like, I'm not backing anyone in particular. I'm backing all three of my kids to win.
02:40You know, I love all of them the same way, you know.
02:43So I was just happy that one of my kids won the race.
02:47After a season defined by strategy, rivalry and relentless execution,
02:54Sudeen says he is simply grateful.
