00:00:00Everyone wants the win.
00:00:01Crazy gang of beating the Culture Club.
00:00:05Gerrard!
00:00:06Yes!
00:00:07Fantastic menu.
00:00:09That continues.
00:00:10What the hell?
00:00:11Back to the store.
00:00:13Steve Walsh, come on!
00:00:15Give it up!
00:00:17This is the moment of joy that all professional footballers hope for.
00:00:21I'm no matter what, for the first time, Crystal Palace are winners.
00:00:28Good evening.
00:00:29Highlights from the third round of the FA Cup.
00:00:32On Match of the Day tonight for Premier League and Championship clubs,
00:00:34this weekend marks the start of the long road to Wembley.
00:00:3822 ties to pack in.
00:00:40Luckily, nothing gets past Rob Green nor Dion Dublin.
00:00:44No team from the sixth tier has ever beaten top-flight opposition in the FA Cup,
00:00:48so a massive task facing non-league Macclesfield
00:00:50as they welcome cup holders Crystal Palace.
00:00:53Commentary from Stephen Warnock and Guy Mowbray.
00:00:56The biggest day in the all-new Macclesfield FC's short history.
00:01:01If they win, it would be the biggest shock in the FA Cup's rich history.
00:01:06Macclesfield's leading scorer, Danny Elliott, has again been ruled out,
00:01:09having missed their last two games,
00:01:11with his role once more being played by former Manchester United junior,
00:01:14Damani Mellor.
00:01:15For Palace, six changes from their goal at straw with Aston Villa on Wednesday,
00:01:19but still a strong side for the cup holders,
00:01:21with Chris Richards back from injury,
00:01:23and Mark Gahey, Adam Wharton, and Jeremy Pino all starting.
00:01:29Brilliant atmosphere.
00:01:30Super day for it.
00:01:33Let Macclesfield against Palace begin.
00:01:37That was quite a nasty flash of heads.
00:01:39Paul Dawson will not be worried taking a knock very early on.
00:01:42He's used to taking them and giving them quite a bit.
00:01:46Paul Dawson, incidentally, will have to leave the field,
00:01:48at least temporarily, with blood trickling from a cut.
00:01:52There's Rob Smethurst, the owner of Macclesfield FC,
00:01:55who was leading this club to ever greater heights, season upon season.
00:02:02The proper job's been done on Captain Dawson.
00:02:14And it flew towards goal like a rocket.
00:02:18Well, there's your warning sign from Macclesfield's point of view.
00:02:22That's what Uche can bring.
00:02:23But when he lets fly there,
00:02:25I don't think the keeper realises how close that is.
00:02:33Richards, a little too high for Rodney.
00:02:36Kay.
00:02:38Rodney's challenge is deemed unfair.
00:02:40It's going to be a free kick for Macclesfield.
00:02:42He's just coming to the game in the last few minutes, hasn't he?
00:02:45Kay, he's dangerous, he's quick.
00:02:47He's direct in the way that he plays.
00:02:49Draws the foul here for him.
00:02:50Rodney does well with his feet to get across.
00:02:54There's some more running repairs needed for Paul Dawson.
00:02:58It's a particular look, isn't it?
00:03:02Now Duffy puts it in.
00:03:03And that doesn't look a bad ball.
00:03:05It's a great ball.
00:03:06It's a wonderful goal.
00:03:10Captain Dawson hits the seventh minute front.
00:03:19Perfect for the Roleague team.
00:03:21Just perfect.
00:03:23This time, it's Luke Duffy to spin it in with his right foot.
00:03:28And this time he's not looking to hit that near post.
00:03:31He's just looking to hang it up
00:03:33and give his opportunity to the big players at the back post.
00:03:38It's absolutely brilliant.
00:03:40To mobile Macclesfield fans will never forget.
00:03:45Rob Smithhurst, almost in tears.
00:03:51Oliver Klasner now starting to look a little agitated.
00:03:54The first Austrian coach to win the greatest cup competition in the world.
00:04:01Won his home nation's cup twice as a player with SV Reid.
00:04:07Buckley Ricketts.
00:04:08There's Mellor who goes down.
00:04:10Richard's challenging.
00:04:11Buckley Ricketts comes out of the pot with the ball.
00:04:14Palace just can't get it away.
00:04:16Buckley Ricketts didn't get it out.
00:04:18But he did.
00:04:18Yes, he did.
00:04:20He's touched it across the knees and it's two for Macclesfield.
00:04:29Now we're really in the realms of FA Cup fantasy.
00:04:36Buckley Ricketts keeps trying to get through.
00:04:39He's like a battering ramp.
00:04:41He finds himself on that far side.
00:04:42And as this shot comes in, look how he readjusts.
00:04:45He just readjusts.
00:04:47Stabs it towards goal.
00:04:49And the goalkeeper, Walter Benitez, is almost wrong-footed.
00:04:52He's going the other way.
00:04:57That's Oliver Glasner's reaction.
00:04:59What to do?
00:05:00What to do?
00:05:03I don't know Mark Bright and Steve Parrish are particularly impressed with anything much that they've seen so far today.
00:05:13There is still time for Palace to change the whole story.
00:05:17Here's Uche.
00:05:19Uche across the face.
00:05:21He didn't miss by a lot.
00:05:22But he did miss.
00:05:24You say it can change in an instance.
00:05:26It nearly did.
00:05:27And it's just because Uche gets half a yard and Heathcote doesn't want to go too close to him
00:05:31because he's worried about him skipping beyond him.
00:05:35Look at the Crystal Palace fans.
00:05:37They set off at four this morning.
00:05:39Goodness me.
00:05:45It's Mitchell.
00:05:47Meneasic.
00:05:48It's not away yet.
00:05:51And that's Walter.
00:05:52No good save.
00:05:54Thundered towards Durnley's goal.
00:05:57Durnley's been relatively quiet throughout this game when called upon here.
00:06:02He makes a really good stop.
00:06:04Wonder what big brother thinks.
00:06:06Oh, he'll be happy.
00:06:07He'll be absolutely delighted, won't he?
00:06:09Very proud, I'm sure.
00:06:12Marcus Field have had to deal with that tragic setback losing Ethan McLeod.
00:06:16But what a performance they're putting on in his memory.
00:06:22And that's going to be a free kick for Palace.
00:06:28Mellor was just beaten to it by Mark Gahey.
00:06:35Sosa or Johnson.
00:06:37It's going to be Brendan Johnson.
00:06:38And he's done it.
00:06:39He's called in a beauty.
00:06:41Oh, it's Pino.
00:06:42It's Jeremy Pino who took it.
00:06:44My mistake.
00:06:45Yeah, he had to get it up and over that wall.
00:06:47It's a quite brilliant free kick from Pino.
00:06:49And you just get that sense now around the stadium.
00:06:53Don't worry that things could possibly turn and turn very quickly.
00:06:58Now all of the Macclesfield fans are holding their breaths after all this work.
00:07:03Palace have still got fight in them.
00:07:06That's Gahey.
00:07:08There's Casey.
00:07:10Now Johnson.
00:07:11Johnson's ball in.
00:07:13Looks a good one.
00:07:14Matheson's ready for it.
00:07:15This is Warton.
00:07:16And it hits the roof of the stands.
00:07:19And now we are in the sixth minute of added time.
00:07:23The board said six.
00:07:28Sosa.
00:07:31Headed away from Uche.
00:07:35It's a missed kick.
00:07:37But now Dawson will have the last kick.
00:07:39And how fitting is that?
00:07:44Macclesfield.
00:07:45And National League North.
00:07:48And knocked out Premier League Crystal Palace.
00:07:51The FA Cup holders.
00:07:54It is the biggest shock that the world's greatest cup competition has ever seen.
00:08:04No, you know, we spoke earlier and we spoke about hope and having a chance.
00:08:08But I never really believed it.
00:08:10That was just me hoping.
00:08:11But wow, the boys were absolutely outstanding.
00:08:14And the way the performance they put on, wow.
00:08:17You know, we can give them a little bit on the side and help them in that sense.
00:08:20But they've got to cross that like you're under and I couldn't be any prouder.
00:08:23Yeah, disappointed.
00:08:25Embarrassed.
00:08:27I've been involved in many games as a player and as a manager.
00:08:29I think this is one of the worst I've seen.
00:08:37Yeah, so congratulations to Macclesfield for the win.
00:08:40I do whatever I can.
00:08:42Week in, week out.
00:08:43You've got to give 110%.
00:08:44And that's what every one of the lads did today.
00:08:48So, yeah, I'm proud.
00:08:50The lads were class.
00:08:52He was magnificent.
00:08:54They were absolutely brilliant.
00:08:56Dion, good evening.
00:08:57Good evening, Rob.
00:08:57I mean, this is what the cup is all about.
00:08:59Yeah, they're incredible scenes.
00:09:01And what a time for a club that they didn't have a club six years ago.
00:09:04And then after the recent weeks of death of Ethan McLeod,
00:09:07one of their players to bring everybody together is just wonderful.
00:09:12Paul Dawson, Dion, what an afternoon.
00:09:14Yeah, I mean, there wasn't a blade of grass that he didn't cover.
00:09:18He was a leader.
00:09:21I'll show you exactly what he did because we've got this run of him
00:09:26heading it, kicking it, tackles, everything that you want your captain to do
00:09:30as a leader and as somebody that's going to show you how to compete
00:09:36in a FA Cup game, first challenge, Crystal Palace.
00:09:40This is what it's all about.
00:09:41This is what it's all about.
00:09:43I'm the captain.
00:09:44Clash of heads.
00:09:45He cuts his head and there's a bit of a melee there.
00:09:48But I just believe that he set the tone and he put into the Crystal Palace players' heads,
00:09:53it's going to be a hard day for you today.
00:09:56We know exactly how to play against you.
00:09:58He was the leader.
00:09:59He was getting crosses in.
00:10:00He was out on the left wing.
00:10:02He was playing in the middle of the park as well.
00:10:04This is a great clip here where he's just really tenacious and he holds on to the ball and then
00:10:11he calms down because he's under a bit of pressure and he keeps the ball nice and simple and then
00:10:16his team get on the front foot again.
00:10:17Yeah, and he was just so composed at times.
00:10:20He knew where to be, when to be, when to put his body on the line.
00:10:24He's just saying that bit there is just wonderful.
00:10:26And then the opportunity to just calm down.
00:10:28And here, Dion touched on it, big cambo in a 1v1 in the first moments.
00:10:33Here, same player, got the muscle memory, got his one-up on his opponent.
00:10:37And it is a wonderful header and brilliant, brilliant celebration.
00:10:43I mean, absolutely fantastic.
00:10:45Well done, Macclesfield.
00:10:46And a day that will live long in the memory of the players, but also the fans as well.
00:10:50Absolutely fantastic.
00:10:50Well done, Paul Dawson.
00:10:52But Macclesfield stopped Palace, didn't they, in every part of the ground?
00:10:55Yeah, and he just touched on what Paul Dawson did, but epitomising the whole team as well
00:10:59and how they cut the lines off to Crystal Palace, slowed them down, made them look ordinary, really ordinary at
00:11:06times.
00:11:06And it was such a well-disciplined and well-executed performance.
00:11:10And the manager touched on it before the game and after the game, said,
00:11:14we want to play a 4-5-1, we want to cut the lines off into someone like Jeremy Pino.
00:11:18And it's just these lines that it made it look so pedestrian on the ball from Crystal Palace
00:11:24that they knew when to go as well, when to go in numbers that they're saying,
00:11:28right, OK, this is the opportunity that we've got to go high.
00:11:31It's not just those two.
00:11:32You can see there are three, four other players around them forcing the error.
00:11:36And, Dion, they did this for the whole 90 minutes as well.
00:11:38Yeah, we know how good Wharton can be, and he was forced to make mistake after mistake.
00:11:44Just through not one blue shirt going, but three and four, there will be a trigger.
00:11:49The trigger goes, and then they went in behind the trigger.
00:11:52It happened for the whole of the game, and it worked.
00:11:55I mean, the way that they hold the line, Crystal Palace players were offside five or six times today.
00:12:01They just couldn't get themselves in because the two centre-halves were talking,
00:12:06the two full-bats were talking a lot.
00:12:08Again, the ball goes back five yards.
00:12:10Watch this one, five yards, and the back five are up on the 18-yard line,
00:12:14making it really difficult, no space to play in whatsoever, and they're offside.
00:12:20And when you do that and you get those offside decisions,
00:12:23it's because that man there has worked on it in training.
00:12:27And I'm so pleased for John Rooney.
00:12:29Yeah, look at that smile.
00:12:30Fantastic.
00:12:30In our big screen tonight.
00:12:32Lovely stuff.
00:12:32And, Dion, how incredible that the last time we saw Crystal Palace in the FA Cup
00:12:36was in the final when they beat Manchester City.
00:12:39Who would have thought, here we are in studio,
00:12:41and we're talking about Palace being humbled by Macclesfield.
00:12:44Well, they were humbled by the better team today.
00:12:46In every aspect, the work rate, a full house, you know, their biggest crowd, I think.
00:12:53And I just believe if you, you might not be as good as these Premier League players,
00:12:58but if you give everything and you're organised, look what might happen.
00:13:02Absolutely right.
00:13:03Well done, Macclesfield.
00:13:03Right, next to the all-Premier League time between Newcastle United
00:13:06and Bournemouth, commentary from Darren Ambrose and Dan Mason.
00:13:13Seven changes today for the Magpies.
00:13:15It's with Kieran Trippier returning and rare starts for Joe Willock and Jacob Ramsey.
00:13:20But this is far from a weakened team.
00:13:22Eddie Howe starting both Nick Voltemada and Johan Wisse.
00:13:26Six changes for Bournemouth, who have not only lost Antoine Semenyo to City,
00:13:31but also Justin Cliver to injury.
00:13:34I mean, Adley gets the job of replacing Semenyo on the wing.
00:13:38Well, Ennis Unau starts his first Cherries game in over a year.
00:13:47This is the best pass from Ramsey, but Newcastle have won it back here.
00:13:52Willock.
00:13:54Ramsey to his right.
00:13:55Here he is.
00:13:57Barnes with a flick.
00:13:58It's Nick Voltemada.
00:13:59It's Johan Wisse.
00:14:01What a save from Georgi Petrovic.
00:14:04He's had his critics, Petrovic, but not now.
00:14:07It's a good play for Newcastle.
00:14:08He finds its way to Nick Voltemada.
00:14:10I thought he was going to shoot first time.
00:14:12Lays it to his striker.
00:14:13Wonderful save.
00:14:16In all competitions, Bournemouth have managed only one away win this season.
00:14:22That was at Tottenham in August.
00:14:25Now it's Harvey Barnes.
00:14:27He scores for Newcastle, who at last had the lead here.
00:14:31Five minutes gone in the second half.
00:14:33What a pass.
00:14:35Voltemada outside of his boot.
00:14:37Round the defence.
00:14:38Slots it home.
00:14:39Harvey Barnes, man of the hour.
00:14:41Brilliant.
00:14:411-0.
00:14:44That early goal in the second half will do wonders for Newcastle and the Magpies faithful,
00:14:51but they've given it to Evan Nielsen.
00:14:53And Ramsdale prevents an almost instant equaliser.
00:14:57It's their own mistake.
00:14:59Newcastle gives it away.
00:15:01Livramento got it all wrong.
00:15:03And so did Evan Nielsen.
00:15:05Needs to score for me.
00:15:13Tenali.
00:15:14Second goal might be the best bet for the Magpies.
00:15:18Almost got one there.
00:15:21A real mix-up at the back for Bournemouth.
00:15:28Ball's delivery is deep.
00:15:30Oh, fantastic header from Bottman.
00:15:32Off the frame of the goal.
00:15:35Inch below that would have been another goal.
00:15:44Charles flying header.
00:15:46Evan Nielsen under it for Bournemouth.
00:15:49Brooks.
00:15:51It's Evan Nielsen.
00:15:53And it's tapped in by Alex Scott.
00:15:57Bournemouth level.
00:15:59They have responded brilliantly since falling behind.
00:16:03And Alex Scott gets a well-deserved equaliser for the Cherries.
00:16:08The response from Evan Nielsen as well, by the way, since his missed chance, creating everything for Bournemouth.
00:16:14Hits it towards the back post.
00:16:16Alex Scott arriving perfectly.
00:16:21Solaire for Bournemouth.
00:16:24The pass that was to Bournemouth.
00:16:26And suddenly Bournemouth are in here.
00:16:28Look how short Newcastle are at the back.
00:16:31And that was a vital intersection by Bottman.
00:16:34Brooks.
00:16:35Oh, fantastic goal.
00:16:38Bournemouth have turned it around.
00:16:40David Brooks, the goal scorer.
00:16:43And what a goal.
00:16:44From one end to the other.
00:16:46As he said, it's a great pass for David Brooks.
00:16:49He drove through.
00:16:50I thought he'd overdone it.
00:16:51I thought he'd picked the wrong option, which he did initially.
00:16:54As soon as he gets on his right foot.
00:16:56There's a player open on the right-hand side.
00:16:57One thought in his mind.
00:16:59What a turnaround.
00:17:04Will they get one last chance, Newcastle?
00:17:09Gordon.
00:17:16Mike Forkartanali is in.
00:17:17He goes down.
00:17:19And what's the referee going to say?
00:17:21He points to the spot.
00:17:23And Newcastle have a chance to save themselves.
00:17:26He's in a key tape with a slip.
00:17:29Losing his foot.
00:17:30That's a good penalty.
00:17:32He's trailing right leg.
00:17:34Connects with Tonali.
00:17:37All the pressure is on Anthony Gordon.
00:17:42He scores!
00:17:44And Newcastle United have once again given us a dramatic late finish.
00:17:50And this third-round tie is looking like heading into extra time.
00:17:59And this pass intercepted.
00:18:02Rather telegraphed that one.
00:18:05Alex Scott.
00:18:06That's a very good pass.
00:18:08It's Jimenez in for Bournemouth.
00:18:09Great save by Ramsdale.
00:18:12Potentially a match-winning save.
00:18:15He just never looked comfortable.
00:18:17And Manez when he ran through.
00:18:30It's Anthony Gordon's cross.
00:18:32It's Barnes.
00:18:32It's Edda.
00:18:33And Newcastle United have won it right at the death.
00:18:37Harvey Barnes has done it again.
00:18:40It's a lovely delivery, Anthony Gordon.
00:18:43Harvey Barnes rises the highest.
00:18:46Petrovic stood no chance.
00:18:50Alex Jimenez.
00:18:54Marcus Tavernier.
00:18:56Here's a chance.
00:18:57Oh, they've levelled it.
00:18:59Marcus Tavernier draws Bournemouth level
00:19:02just when they look like they were cooked.
00:19:05It's unbelievable.
00:19:06It's just confusion.
00:19:07Sven Botman, Aaron Ramsdale, Malik Chell.
00:19:10One of you has to clear that.
00:19:12They're delighted on the sidelines.
00:19:15Wow.
00:19:18Here's finale.
00:19:21Barnes.
00:19:22Oh, God missed it.
00:19:24This is quite incredible.
00:19:27Adam Smith prevents a late, late winner
00:19:30from Newcastle United.
00:19:31And we are going to go into a penalty shootout.
00:19:37Nick Voltemada is the next man up for the Magpies.
00:19:43Oh, it's against the crossbar.
00:19:46And it's advantage Bournemouth.
00:19:48Plenty of power.
00:19:49Not quite the right amount of accuracy.
00:19:54Evan Nielsen for Bournemouth.
00:19:56To give them the lead in the shootout
00:19:59after two kicks.
00:20:04Saved by Ramsdale
00:20:06who guessed correctly.
00:20:09And this game keeps us guessing.
00:20:13Bruno Gimaraes, the latest to place the ball
00:20:15for Newcastle.
00:20:19Saved by Petrovic this time.
00:20:22The goalkeeper stood his ground
00:20:24and Gimaraes
00:20:26rather embarrassed by that effort.
00:20:29Can Aaron Ramsdale
00:20:31come to the rescue again?
00:20:34It's Cook.
00:20:35Oh, he almost got there, the goalkeeper.
00:20:37But a cheeky one from Lewis Cook.
00:20:46To Nali.
00:20:47Another short run up.
00:20:48And he finds the corner.
00:20:51And the level at 2-2.
00:20:52But Bournemouth still with the advantage.
00:20:55Alex Jimenez.
00:20:57He looks calm.
00:20:59He looks composed.
00:21:00But it's saved by Ramsdale.
00:21:04Bournemouth spurning another chance
00:21:06to take it away from their hosts.
00:21:10Into sudden death.
00:21:12Malik Chau now.
00:21:14How will he get on?
00:21:16Short run up.
00:21:17Simple finish.
00:21:19Got the job done.
00:21:20So, it's all good.
00:21:23Ofodi Diakite.
00:21:26Summer signing from Lille.
00:21:29It's saved by Ramsdale.
00:21:31And Newcastle have won it.
00:21:34Ramsdale, the undisputed hero
00:21:36in the shootout.
00:21:38An absorbing and exhilarating
00:21:40FA Cup third round tie.
00:21:43It was a classic FA Cup tie.
00:21:46I think extra time,
00:21:47probably the last thing
00:21:48both managers wanted.
00:21:49Especially with our game
00:21:50on Tuesday for us.
00:21:51But the priority was to try
00:21:53and get through.
00:21:54And thankfully we've done it.
00:21:55The extra time was about
00:21:56who had more energy.
00:21:58Who could use better,
00:22:00probably the subs.
00:22:02And no complaints.
00:22:05I'm very proud of
00:22:06how we played,
00:22:07about my players.
00:22:08But it's true that
00:22:09I wanted to win the next round.
00:22:11Anyhow, absolutely bang on,
00:22:13Dionne.
00:22:13Classic Cup tie.
00:22:14And if you're looking
00:22:15for top players,
00:22:17look no further than
00:22:17Harvey Barnes.
00:22:18Yeah, again,
00:22:19just a very positive performance.
00:22:23And I think he's getting
00:22:24better with age.
00:22:25I think he's knowing the game.
00:22:26He's knowing his position
00:22:27even better.
00:22:28Then knowing how to use him
00:22:30as well.
00:22:31What I like about
00:22:32Harvey Barnes is he always
00:22:34finds the right position
00:22:35at the right time.
00:22:36Gets himself there.
00:22:37Nice little flick.
00:22:38They create a chance
00:22:39out of this.
00:22:40They don't score,
00:22:41but he finds a different
00:22:41position because he wasn't
00:22:43getting involved.
00:22:44And when he's wide,
00:22:45he always tries to go
00:22:47direct at his defender
00:22:49so he can create
00:22:50something behind.
00:22:51This on here is
00:22:52little layoff
00:22:53and he's gone again.
00:22:54Yeah.
00:22:54Always trying to get in
00:22:55behind.
00:22:56And what a ball.
00:22:57What a ball from
00:22:58Volta Marta that is,
00:22:59by the way.
00:23:00And a really good
00:23:01accomplished finish.
00:23:02Yeah,
00:23:03sometimes been accused
00:23:03in the past of sort of
00:23:05drifting away from the game,
00:23:06but there was none of that
00:23:07today.
00:23:07And then after about
00:23:0870 minutes,
00:23:09his mate came on,
00:23:10Anthony Gordon,
00:23:11on the other wing.
00:23:12and they just were
00:23:13unplayable at times
00:23:14with the pace,
00:23:15the directness,
00:23:16the speed between them
00:23:18and their willingness to go.
00:23:19And what I was really
00:23:20impressed with is how
00:23:21he found these positions
00:23:22like this.
00:23:23He turns into
00:23:23Prime Shearer
00:23:24all of a sudden.
00:23:25He's looking and saying,
00:23:26get beyond the end man
00:23:27and then attack him.
00:23:29He'd be delighted with that.
00:23:30And it's a fantastic
00:23:31ball across to win it
00:23:32and Anthony Gordon
00:23:33fluffs his lines
00:23:34and it's just something
00:23:36that he was unstoppable
00:23:37today in how he played.
00:23:39You know,
00:23:40he's got 11 in all
00:23:41comps now.
00:23:42Harvey Barnes,
00:23:42he needs to do more of that
00:23:43and he needs to do that
00:23:44more often.
00:23:45Consistent.
00:23:45Consistently for season
00:23:46after season for Newcastle.
00:23:47Yeah, great numbers.
00:23:48Absolutely right, Dion.
00:23:49Rob, we'll talk about
00:23:50Bournemouth in just a moment.
00:23:51I just want to look at
00:23:52Newcastle's fixtures
00:23:53because they've got
00:23:53a tough run of games,
00:23:54haven't they?
00:23:54They've got a tough run
00:23:55of games,
00:23:55but if you look at it
00:23:56and this is the crunch
00:23:57point of the season
00:23:58for them and this is
00:23:59what they wanted.
00:24:00They wanted to be
00:24:01defending their cup
00:24:02in the AFL Cup.
00:24:02They've got the semi-finals.
00:24:04They wanted to be in
00:24:04the sharp end
00:24:06of the Champions League.
00:24:06They're in that.
00:24:08You're looking at
00:24:08potentially having
00:24:09other playoff games
00:24:10in there in the
00:24:11Champions League
00:24:12as well after that.
00:24:14It's a great time.
00:24:15You've just got to be
00:24:16in there and keep
00:24:17on trucking
00:24:18because they need
00:24:18the energy.
00:24:19They need to keep
00:24:20on driving through.
00:24:20Yeah, absolutely.
00:24:21We watched this game
00:24:22live, of course,
00:24:22and at one point
00:24:23I didn't think
00:24:23it was going to end
00:24:25when we were on air
00:24:26this afternoon.
00:24:27That's how it felt
00:24:28because everything
00:24:29was happening
00:24:30and so many things,
00:24:31goals and penalties,
00:24:32the whole thing.
00:24:33Great spectacle.
00:24:34But Dion, Bournemouth
00:24:34deserves some credit
00:24:35for the way they hung
00:24:36in there.
00:24:36Yeah, they did.
00:24:38You know,
00:24:38no Semenyo now.
00:24:39So it's got to be
00:24:40difficult for them
00:24:41but they actually
00:24:43went into the ring
00:24:44and made it a fight.
00:24:45Yeah, quite right.
00:24:46Thank you very much.
00:24:46Right, Liam Rossini
00:24:47took charge of Chelsea
00:24:48for the first time
00:24:49tonight against
00:24:49Charlton Athletic
00:24:50of the Championship
00:24:51at the Valley for us.
00:24:53Mark Scott.
00:24:56The higher the pressure,
00:24:58the higher the privilege
00:24:59was Liam Rossini's take
00:25:01on stepping into
00:25:02one of the hottest
00:25:03hot seats in football
00:25:05and he'll certainly
00:25:06get an early blast of heat
00:25:08if Chelsea slip up here.
00:25:11Amongst Charlton's
00:25:11four changes
00:25:12is a second appearance
00:25:14of the season
00:25:15for keeper
00:25:15Will Mannion.
00:25:17Rossini's first
00:25:18Chelsea selection
00:25:19shows eight alterations
00:25:20from the loss
00:25:21at Fulham
00:25:22with Tosin,
00:25:23Caicedo and Santos
00:25:24the only ones
00:25:25to keep their places.
00:25:29Chelsea have gone through
00:25:30from 61 of their last
00:25:3163 FA Cup ties
00:25:33against teams
00:25:34from a lower division
00:25:36including
00:25:36their last 22 in a row.
00:25:41Caicedo
00:25:42popped off to
00:25:43Achiempong
00:25:44who's going to have a hit!
00:25:46It's beaten away well
00:25:47by Mannion
00:25:48Josh Achiempong
00:25:50who has only scored
00:25:51once before
00:25:52in his entire career
00:25:53with a stinger here
00:25:54that needed a firm
00:25:56pair of hands
00:25:57from Will Mannion.
00:26:02Jamie Gittles
00:26:05good carry
00:26:06and not a bad
00:26:07strike either.
00:26:09Mannion down
00:26:10smartly here
00:26:11to keep him away.
00:26:13Good direct
00:26:13start from Jamie Gittles
00:26:15though
00:26:15close enough
00:26:16to the keeper
00:26:17that it's always
00:26:18what he should make.
00:26:24That's going to
00:26:25break for Gerald
00:26:26Harto!
00:26:30The first goal
00:26:31of the Resenia
00:26:33reign
00:26:34is a

00:26:59Charlton

00:27:00Chelsea

00:27:01That is a

00:27:24couldn't
00:27:24get there
00:27:24and now
00:27:25Chelsea
00:27:25won a
00:27:26penalty
00:27:26Chris
00:27:27Kavanaugh
00:27:27making it
00:27:28very clear
00:27:29that he
00:27:30felt the
00:27:30ball was
00:27:30won.

00:30:50I know
00:30:51that it's
00:30:51foggy
00:30:52but even
00:30:53I can see
00:30:54that this

00:31:27game
00:31:28let's
00:31:29see
00:31:30I have
00:31:30an idea
00:31:31of what
00:31:32I think
00:31:32this team
00:31:32could be
00:31:33but it
00:31:34takes time
00:31:35we need
00:31:35to be
00:31:35consistent
00:31:36we need
00:31:37to keep
00:31:37our feet
00:31:37on the
00:31:37floor
00:31:38and be
00:31:38really
00:31:38humble
00:31:39we knew
00:31:40we were
00:31:40coming up
00:31:41against a
00:31:41world class
00:31:41team
00:31:43and we
00:31:44had a good
00:31:45structure
00:31:45we were in
00:31:46the game
00:31:46for long
00:31:47periods of
00:31:47time
00:31:47but there
00:31:48was just
00:31:48certain
00:31:49things
00:31:49the goals
00:31:50for us
00:31:50were really
00:31:50poor
00:31:51and that
00:31:51was just
00:31:51too easy
00:31:52for them
00:31:52to go
00:31:52away
00:31:53from us
00:31:53football
00:31:53we talk
00:31:54a lot
00:31:54about
00:31:54tactics
00:31:55what I
00:31:55was happy
00:31:55was with
00:31:56the attitude
00:31:56and mentality
00:31:57of the group
00:31:57today
00:31:57and that's
00:31:58something that
00:31:58we really
00:31:59need to build
00:31:59on
00:31:59yeah we'll
00:32:01talk about
00:32:01his role
00:32:02at the
00:32:02football club
00:32:02in just a
00:32:03moment
00:32:03but Dion
00:32:04what a
00:32:05start
00:32:05Chelsea
00:32:05what a
00:32:06goal
00:32:06yeah I
00:32:07mean
00:32:08Jarell Harto
00:32:09who will
00:32:09never strike
00:32:10a ball
00:32:10like it
00:32:11ever again
00:32:13the young
00:32:13Dutch lad
00:32:1419 years
00:32:14old
00:32:15scores the
00:32:16first goal
00:32:17in Liam's
00:32:18reign
00:32:19and look
00:32:19at that
00:32:20I mean
00:32:20that's
00:32:21perfectly
00:32:22struck
00:32:22on the
00:32:23laces
00:32:24it's an
00:32:25incredible
00:32:25strike
00:32:26there wasn't
00:32:27a lot
00:32:27happened
00:32:28in that
00:32:28first half
00:32:29there was a
00:32:29lot of
00:32:29control
00:32:30from Chelsea
00:32:30that was
00:32:32something
00:32:32different
00:32:33absolutely
00:32:34clean
00:32:35scored a few
00:32:35of those
00:32:36didn't you
00:32:36no
00:32:38not with your
00:32:38left
00:32:39it traded
00:32:41everything
00:32:42Rob let's talk
00:32:43about the job
00:32:44that Liam Rossini
00:32:45has got on his
00:32:45hands
00:32:45when you look
00:32:46at the squad
00:32:46what do you
00:32:47think he's got
00:32:48well some
00:32:49things haven't
00:32:49changed since
00:32:50a week ago
00:32:51and you're
00:32:52looking at a
00:32:52guy who's
00:32:53tactically
00:32:53astute
00:32:54he's a clever
00:32:54guy and he's
00:32:55got to find a
00:32:56way in games
00:32:56to respond
00:32:57for when the
00:32:58opposition
00:32:58change the
00:32:59game
00:32:59and I think
00:33:00today they
00:33:01were always
00:33:02in control
00:33:03they always
00:33:03had control
00:33:04of the ball
00:33:04so it wasn't
00:33:05really asked
00:33:06that question
00:33:06I think he's
00:33:07got to develop
00:33:08those second
00:33:09ranked players
00:33:10the players who
00:33:11aren't really
00:33:11in the first
00:33:12eleven
00:33:12get them up
00:33:13to speed
00:33:14is the biggest
00:33:14thing
00:33:14and biggest
00:33:15thing of all
00:33:15find a
00:33:16connection
00:33:16between
00:33:17the club
00:33:18and the fans
00:33:19and the players
00:33:20again
00:33:20I think that's
00:33:21the bit
00:33:22we heard it
00:33:22in the game
00:33:23and I think
00:33:24that's where
00:33:24the discourse
00:33:25is right now
00:33:27I think
00:33:29the depth
00:33:30is where
00:33:31they're struggling
00:33:31if they want
00:33:32to go and
00:33:32challenge in the
00:33:33top four
00:33:33start winning
00:33:34things
00:33:35as we were
00:33:36watching that
00:33:37goal as well
00:33:38I've chatted to
00:33:39Rob about it
00:33:39all day
00:33:39that if they
00:33:40could have
00:33:4119, 20, 21
00:33:43top top class
00:33:44players
00:33:45they will be
00:33:46challenging
00:33:46at the moment
00:33:47they haven't got
00:33:47that many
00:33:48and he needs to
00:33:49coach some
00:33:49players better
00:33:50and find some
00:33:51sort of consistency
00:33:52as well
00:33:52Rob
00:33:52yeah
00:33:53absolutely
00:33:53it's such a
00:33:54quick turnaround
00:33:56for him
00:33:56there's such a
00:33:57fast time
00:33:57his coaching
00:33:58is key
00:33:59the time on
00:33:59the training
00:33:59is so short
00:34:01for him
00:34:01absolutely

00:42:29little step

00:42:30the way
00:42:31you like
00:42:32that little
00:42:32step
00:42:32only because

00:42:38nothing
00:42:38happened
00:42:39on that
00:42:40occasion
00:42:40but again
00:42:40he comes in
00:42:41this time
00:42:42because he's
00:42:42not being
00:42:42involved
00:42:43sets himself
00:42:44up
00:42:44gets a shot
00:42:45off
00:42:45and it
00:42:46falls to
00:42:46Rodri
00:42:47and Rodri
00:42:48does the
00:42:48rest
00:42:49but he does
00:42:49more than
00:42:50that
00:42:50yeah and he
00:42:51can do
00:42:51anything
00:42:52and he's so
00:42:52unpredictable
00:42:53which is the
00:42:54hard thing
00:42:54when you've
00:42:55got someone
00:42:56against him
00:42:56you've just
00:42:57seen him
00:42:57come inside
00:42:58and then you
00:42:58just see now
00:42:59you see him
00:42:59stand one
00:43:00player up
00:43:00go outside
00:43:01him go
00:43:01outside the
00:43:02next player
00:43:02and sometimes
00:43:04I just felt
00:43:04that the
00:43:04balls in
00:43:05were a little
00:43:05bit too
00:43:06quick for
00:43:06his teammates
00:43:07he's looking
00:43:07and he's
00:43:08giving and
00:43:08going here
00:43:09whereas
00:43:09before he
00:43:10was dribbling
00:43:10and then
00:43:11that's
00:43:11finally
00:43:12someone's
00:43:13reading that
00:43:13cross
00:43:13it's a
00:43:14wonderful
00:43:14cross
00:43:15he doesn't
00:43:16hesitate
00:43:16which at
00:43:17the top
00:43:17level
00:43:18rather than
00:43:19standing and
00:43:19wondering and
00:43:20waiting whether
00:43:20he should
00:43:21cross it
00:43:21he just
00:43:21does it
00:43:22look at that
00:43:22for gas
00:43:22and then
00:43:23there
00:43:23wow
00:43:24to go
00:43:24beyond
00:43:25there's a
00:43:26fraction
00:43:26where Xester
00:43:27fell asleep
00:43:28there and he
00:43:28was gone
00:43:29where do you
00:43:29chaps think
00:43:30that Semenu
00:43:31fits in
00:43:31in all
00:43:32competitions
00:43:32for Manchester
00:43:33City
00:43:33in that
00:43:33team
00:43:34as in
00:43:35how often
00:43:36does he
00:43:36play
00:43:37he plays
00:43:38that's what
00:43:39they've got him
00:43:39for
00:43:40for that
00:43:40reason
00:43:40what we've
00:43:41just shown
00:43:41there
00:43:41the positivity
00:43:42the end
00:43:43product
00:43:43making a
00:43:44difference
00:43:45he plays
00:43:45save you
00:43:46Rob
00:43:46yeah I
00:43:46think you're
00:43:47looking at
00:43:47someone who
00:43:48can do all
00:43:48facets from
00:43:50an attacking
00:43:50point and
00:43:51it's a matter
00:43:52of time before
00:43:53his teammates
00:43:53just go wow
00:43:54I've just got to
00:43:55make those runs
00:43:55just get in there
00:43:56I feel so for
00:43:57the right backs
00:43:57I was going to
00:43:58say it's a nightmare
00:44:00to defend against
00:44:01isn't it Rob
00:44:01it's so hard
00:44:03you're tucked in
00:44:04you're tucked
00:44:04narrow and at times
00:44:05today you're saying
00:44:06okay you're out
00:44:07there on your own
00:44:07Semenu was out
00:44:08on his own
00:44:09and they just
00:44:10left him
00:44:10and they were in
00:44:11trouble
00:44:11frightening
00:44:12still to come

00:48:04these
00:48:05Spurs
00:48:06fans

00:48:17Tottenham
00:48:17Tottenham
00:48:17Tottenham
00:48:27Tottenham
00:48:28have at least
00:48:28given them
00:48:28that in this
00:48:29second half
00:48:30that's
00:48:31nicely
00:48:31worked
00:48:31it's
00:48:31cash
00:48:32and that's
00:48:33a lovely
00:48:33ball
00:48:33Buendia
00:48:34brilliantly
00:48:35off the line
00:48:35that could be
00:48:36absolutely crucial
00:48:37Pedro Porro off the line
00:48:40and Pedro Porro to lash it away from danger again
00:48:44just about to see how important could that stop on the line be
00:48:52and there's a break on here
00:48:53Lamar Bogart has Morgan Rodgers
00:48:56Watkins is getting forward as well
00:48:58Rodgers through Danso
00:49:00and put behind by Van de Vent
00:49:05but Aston Villa
00:49:07have put their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup
00:49:23I know you've said before
00:49:27you feel like you're very aligned with the board
00:49:29and everyone here knows what you're trying to achieve
00:49:31how close are you to achieving it
00:49:33and do you still feel like you have that support
00:49:34yeah I completely feel that support
00:49:37no doubt about that
00:49:38we need to put more and better performance together
00:49:41and keep pushing forward
00:49:44he's a man under pressure
00:49:45we'll talk about Thomas Frank in just a moment
00:49:47but first of all let's talk about Super John McGinn
00:49:49yes
00:49:49him and him with Buendia
00:49:52dictated play today in the first half
00:49:54they were brilliant
00:49:55and it's all about understanding your role
00:49:56and tucking inside when he needed to tuck inside
00:49:59and Paulina and Gray were the two central midfielders
00:50:01for Tottenham just couldn't live
00:50:03with him and his timing of his movement
00:50:05and then his link up play to the front two
00:50:08and from there Villa just completely stole the show
00:50:11here again drifting in between the midfield two
00:50:15led to Buendia's goal
00:50:16who was also doing the same from the other side
00:50:19you come into central positions
00:50:21and just rotated the play at times
00:50:23Dion and it was so difficult for Spurs
00:50:25just to pick him up at any moment of the game
00:50:28he seems to do all the ugly stuff very very well
00:50:31that nobody else in the team wants to do
00:50:33but he's also affecting where his teammates are
00:50:36I mean this one here just bouncing the ball
00:50:38keeping it nice and simple
00:50:40not complicating it
00:50:42he's a leader
00:50:43he makes sure that all his team are accountable for their actions
00:50:47he's pointing, he's shouting
00:50:48see how he stops there
00:50:50gets himself into a really good position
00:50:52sets his team off again
00:50:54tries to squeeze one in the corner
00:50:56not happening
00:50:57but with that armband
00:50:59he is their leader
00:51:01and it works for him
00:51:02you must be delighted Dion at the moment
00:51:03everyone seems to know their role
00:51:05they're so well coached
00:51:06yeah they are
00:51:07they are but
00:51:08like Rob's just pointed out there
00:51:09that's the area that John works in
00:51:12and they know to leave that area for John
00:51:14and it's effective
00:51:15right let's deal with this then
00:51:17Thomas Frank, Man Under Pressure
00:51:18yeah
00:51:18is he going to be there May?
00:51:20I don't see it
00:51:21I don't see how it is
00:51:23the performances they're putting in
00:51:24you're saying
00:51:25there's a bit of life today
00:51:27a response
00:51:28but it's becoming too often
00:51:30too much
00:51:30too few now
00:51:31Dion can you see him
00:51:32still being there
00:51:33if the results carry on
00:51:35like this
00:51:36he won't be
00:51:37it's all about results for managers
00:51:38and they keep losing
00:51:39so it's no good
00:51:39ok thank you
00:51:40highlights from another
00:51:41seven third round ties now
00:51:42starting at Molineux
00:51:46perhaps when the draw was made
00:51:48League 2 Shrewsby Town
00:51:49might have fancied their chances in this
00:51:51Wolves are still bottom of the Premier League
00:51:54but unbeaten in three
00:51:55and Jorgen Strand Larsson
00:51:57flicks them in front early on
00:51:58he'd gone 13 games
00:52:00without a goal before that
00:52:0270 places separate these sides
00:52:04a big gap
00:52:05and Wolves surged into the space
00:52:07Colombian Jean Arias
00:52:09made it two
00:52:10a couple of minutes later
00:52:11Michael Appleton's Shrewsbury
00:52:13have lost four in a row in the league
00:52:14a relegation scrap looms
00:52:16but they searched for a way back into the time
00:52:19Arias was adjudged to have brought down
00:52:21John Marquis
00:52:21penalty
00:52:22and Marquis got up to reduce the deficit
00:52:25less than 26 minutes gone
00:52:28but he grabbed the ball
00:52:29clearly sensing that Wolves might wobble
00:52:31but the foundations were not secure at the other end
00:52:34keeper Eli Harrison on loan from Manchester United
00:52:37didn't spot Strand Larsson
00:52:39and it's a long way back from there
00:52:42Wolves are apparently open to selling the Norwegian forward
00:52:45some fans have criticised him
00:52:47but in a difficult season
00:52:48this was a therapeutic afternoon
00:52:51Strand Larsson is in
00:52:52looking for the hat-trick
00:52:54which he has
00:52:55Strand Larsson with the treble
00:52:57his first in over eight years
00:52:59of professional football
00:53:01the game won
00:53:02Wolves could enjoy themselves
00:53:04Fair Lopez had room
00:53:05had a go
00:53:06and Wolves still had time
00:53:08to put Rodrigo Gomez in
00:53:10to score the fifth
00:53:10the old gold has lost some of its shine of late
00:53:14but by the end they were bypassing Shrewsbury at will
00:53:17this was their eighth win in nine against lower league opposition in the cup
00:53:21rounded off by Tolu Arokodare
00:53:236-1
00:53:24and Wolves fans can look forward to the fourth round
00:53:28the end of the season probably can't come soon enough for Sheffield Wednesday
00:53:31marooned at the foot of the championship after a points deduction
00:53:34destined for league one
00:53:36and still awaiting new owners
00:53:37they fell behind when Keane Lewis Potter stole in at the back post
00:53:41the Bees fifth in the Premier League made eight changes
00:53:45but it didn't hamper their serene progress to round four
00:53:47youngster Rommel Donovan was one of those given a start
00:53:51and won a penalty
00:53:51fouled by Cole McGee
00:53:53Matthias Jensen went route one from the spot
00:53:56it's now five wins out of six for Keith Andrews team
00:53:59an admirable statistic Wednesday fans can currently only dream of
00:54:04Fulham have found their groove
00:54:05they're unbeaten in six in the league
00:54:07and yet they made seven changes
00:54:09for the meeting with Middlesbrough
00:54:10second in the championship
00:54:11and it looked like it might cost them
00:54:13Borough worked it well
00:54:14Fulham forgot where Hackney was
00:54:16Hayden Hackney 1-0
00:54:18they held that lead well into the second half
00:54:20so Fulham sent on Harry Wilson
00:54:22he's having a great week in a great season
00:54:24and three minutes after coming on
00:54:26he scored his third goal in the last three games
00:54:29it tilted the time
00:54:30Tom Kearney was another of Fulham's super subs
00:54:33he played in Emil Smith-Rowe
00:54:35to fire the Premier League side in front
00:54:37in the 77th minute
00:54:39Borough's chance had passed
00:54:41Wilson inevitably was involved in Fulham's third
00:54:44his ball queued up Kevin
00:54:45to score his first for the club
00:54:47Fulham have never won the FA Cup
00:54:49could this be their year?
00:54:53Millwall battling for promotion in the championship
00:54:55ventured north with high hopes
00:54:57against Premier League strugglers Burnley
00:54:58without a win in 12 matches
00:55:00veteran striker Ashley Barnes
00:55:02made a rare appearance
00:55:03and poached the opening goal
00:55:04it was like the old days at Turf Moor
00:55:06these two sides have met just once before
00:55:09in the FA Cup
00:55:10Millwall winning on their way
00:55:11to the 2004 final
00:55:13Loon Chauna beat keeper Stephen Bender
00:55:16at his near post to make it two
00:55:18they were gifted a 3-0 half-time lead
00:55:21after Bender's wayward clearance
00:55:22Jadon Anthony scored with a first-time finish
00:55:28Barnes hadn't scored since March
00:55:30but he used all his penalty box nows
00:55:32to grab his second of the game
00:55:34after Millwall failed to clear their lines
00:55:36Burnley, whose only FA Cup triumph
00:55:38came in 1914
00:55:40had a fifth after more poor defending
00:55:42by the championship team
00:55:44Jadon Barnell grabbing his first for the club
00:55:47after coming on as a second half sub
00:55:49this was welcome respite for the Clarets
00:55:51from their Premier League struggles
00:55:53but head coach Scott Parker
00:55:55won't have enjoyed the way they lost the ball
00:55:57close to goal
00:55:57to allow Josh Coburn to run clear
00:56:00and score a late consolation
00:56:01past Max Weiss
00:56:03a Cup run might just be the tonic Burnley need
00:56:05to revive their campaign
00:56:09it's been a pretty bleak winter for these two sides
00:56:12neither of them have won a game in a month
00:56:14but someone had to go through
00:56:16and Southampton were determined it would be them
00:56:18Kuryu Matsuki had the shot
00:56:20which came out to Cameron Bragg
00:56:22who'd never scored a senior goal until then
00:56:24Saints were proving too strong for League One Doncaster
00:56:28Cameron Archer didn't worry about whether he'd been fouled
00:56:31he had bigger plans
00:56:32with the help of a deflection
00:56:33he made it two
00:56:34his fourth of the season
00:56:36it's half a century since Southampton won the FA Cup
00:56:39a repeat would be asking a lot
00:56:41in terms of an anniversary present
00:56:43but they seemed sure of progressing
00:56:44when Matsuki headed in their third before the break
00:56:47especially as Doncaster are hopelessly out of form
00:56:51and yet
00:56:51three minutes into the second half
00:56:53Robbie Gott's corner was nodded in by Matty Pearson
00:56:56and Donny started to believe
00:56:59they began to prey on Saints' frailties
00:57:02now Owen Bailey works the ball to Jordan Gibson
00:57:05who placed in his sixth of the season
00:57:073-2
00:57:08still more than half an hour left
00:57:10a Cup tie had broken out
00:57:11stoppage time
00:57:13Doncaster corner
00:57:14could they level it?
00:57:16Howard Bennett's didn't get there
00:57:17what a save not once but twice
00:57:20how on earth has that stayed out?
00:57:22a dramatic finish
00:57:24and a promising start
00:57:25that was Daniel Perez's Southampton debut
00:57:30the 2021 FA Cup winners Leicester City
00:57:33have beaten Cheltenham Town 4-0
00:57:35on the only two previous occasions they've met
00:57:37striker Patson Daka joined the Foxes
00:57:40after their Wembley triumph
00:57:41and had never scored in the competition himself
00:57:43he put that unwanted record to bed
00:57:45with Leicester City's first effort on target
00:57:49Steffi Mavadidi had set him up for the opener
00:57:51Leicester's second was all Mavadidi's own work
00:57:53skipping inside from the touchline
00:57:55to complete a thoroughly professional performance
00:57:58and ease some of the pressure
00:57:59on under-fire manager Marty Sifuentes
00:58:04Borumwood have become third round regulars
00:58:06the National League side have reached this stage
00:58:08in four of the last six seasons
00:58:10for them that was where the good news ended
00:58:12because from the moment
00:58:13Kyron Lofthouse smashed Burton in front
00:58:16they didn't look like the out of form side
00:58:18they have been
00:58:19the League One Brewers were two up before the break
00:58:21this time debutant Kane Adam's header
00:58:23was diverted in by Borumwood's Charlie O'Connell
00:58:26the Wood have only reached the fourth round once before
00:58:30it was clearly out of reach here
00:58:32the free kick dropped by Ted Curd
00:58:34Fabio Tavares scored Burton's third
00:58:36this wasn't going to plan for Borumwood
00:58:39they've been so good at home this season
00:58:41but were powerless to stop Burton
00:58:43Dylan Williams scored his first of the season
00:58:45to make it 4-0
00:58:47Burton had lost their last three without scoring
00:58:49maybe they've been saving it up
00:58:51JJ McKeanen floated in the fifth
00:58:53and even they were surprised at how easy this was
00:58:59so not to be for Borumwood
00:59:01but what about Western Supermare
00:59:03the sixth tier team have reached the FA Cup third round
00:59:06for the first time in their history
00:59:08the reward a 247 mile trip
00:59:11to lead to Grimsby Town
00:59:13on the east coast for us
00:59:14Chris Latcham
00:59:22supported by Walker
00:59:24into the feet of Warren
00:59:25who's done really well to turn
00:59:26deflected and saved well by Harris
00:59:28down to his left
00:59:31the ball from Warren was goal bound
00:59:34and the deflection looked like
00:59:35it was going to carry it into the corner
00:59:42Western have 11 behind the ball
00:59:43and Grimsby
00:59:45are continuing to probe
00:59:47and here's Vernon
00:59:47flick on
00:59:48is importantly tipped over by Harris
00:59:51almost
00:59:52almost
00:59:52catching out
00:59:53the Western goalkeeper
01:00:04Vernon again
01:00:05sends one in
01:00:06and this time
01:00:06he picks out
01:00:08at the top corner
01:00:12Charles Vernon's had a couple of range finders
01:00:15a couple of testers for Max Harris
01:00:17but this time
01:00:17the goalkeeper could get nowhere near it
01:00:26testing ball for Cameron McJanet
01:00:27and Cummins
01:00:29felt the contact in the air
01:00:30and wins the free kick
01:00:34delicious shooting range
01:00:35and Coulson has only got one target
01:00:41took a deflection
01:00:42and looped it to the back of the net
01:00:48Luke Coulson will claim the goal
01:00:51but without that flick on the way in
01:00:53Smith would never have been beaten
01:00:57what a moment for the Western fans
01:00:59behind the goal
01:01:01almost like they sucked it into the back of the net
01:01:07Stanton's touch took him away from goal
01:01:10but the cross is excellent
01:01:12right to the far post
01:01:13and Warren heads over
01:01:17and now the Grimsby Town fans find their voice
01:01:19couple of key chances in the last five minutes
01:01:22belief that they've
01:01:23weathered their own particular storm
01:01:25and now getting back on top of this one
01:01:27and Rhys Stanton's won a corner
01:01:29and G's up the fans too
01:01:37Michael Smith gets the header away
01:01:39but it still might fall
01:01:40KBR has made himself a nuisance
01:01:42and flicked the ball into the back of the net
01:01:47off the bench
01:01:48and to the rescue for the Mariners
01:01:52Max Harris beaten for a second time
01:01:56and Jay's KBR
01:01:59puts the league side 2-1 up
01:02:08Coulson has room to move into
01:02:10but Koori is on his shoulder
01:02:12and drags him to the ground
01:02:15Coulson wasn't happy
01:02:16felt he was away here
01:02:18putting his head up to pick out Robuston
01:02:20and fell before he could get his pass away
01:02:25as they tried to drag the Mariners into choppy waters
01:02:29Coulson nicely worked
01:02:30Robuston
01:02:31Britain
01:02:34has levelled it up for Weston
01:02:37Great Britain they call him
01:02:39that's his 20th goal of the season
01:02:44and he's given them hope of reaching round four for the first time
01:02:49look what it means to the Seagulls
01:02:56Sam Lavelle can push on with the ball
01:02:58it's opened up in front of him
01:03:00the fans wanted him to shoot
01:03:04instead he's picked out Green
01:03:06and Green picks out KBR
01:03:08deflected wide
01:03:14desperate defending from the captain
01:03:19flicked on and flicked in
01:03:23Kieran Green
01:03:25unchallenged with the header
01:03:26and just gave it the eyes
01:03:28the captain Kieran has come off the bench
01:03:33and nodded Grimsby towards round four
01:03:38we want to put the club on the map
01:03:39we're trying to do that
01:03:40we understand that we're still in the fourth tier
01:03:42I'm not sure
01:03:43being Weston's Supermair
01:03:44will have the reach that
01:03:45PT Manchester United does here
01:03:47but
01:03:47at the same time
01:03:49if you're still in the hat
01:03:51you've got a chance to do that
01:03:52and that's important for this football club
01:03:54we're a tough nut to crack
01:03:55yeah they obviously went in front twice
01:03:57but we come back
01:03:59and I think that just shows the character of the team
01:04:01and I said to the boys in there
01:04:02they've got to get their heads up
01:04:03they're sick as a pig in there
01:04:05no one's speaking
01:04:05but that tells you about them
01:04:07they're really disappointed
01:04:08that they haven't come away with something
01:04:09but
01:04:09I think when they wake up tomorrow morning
01:04:11they'll realise
01:04:12that's one hell of an effort they put in
01:04:14absolutely
01:04:15fair play to Weston's Supermair
01:04:17Dion showed fantastic character
01:04:18but Grimsby Town just showed their EFL class
01:04:21yeah it was
01:04:22it was unfortunately
01:04:23fitness and know-how
01:04:25and
01:04:25quality of
01:04:27finishing
01:04:28I mean
01:04:28two little half volleys
01:04:30half volley there
01:04:31and a little half volley there
01:04:32it's a really clever finish
01:04:34the bounce
01:04:35falls nicely
01:04:36KB just gets on the end of it
01:04:38and finishes very well
01:04:39and I think Weston's Supermair
01:04:41tried their hardest
01:04:42to stay with the
01:04:43attackers
01:04:44to try and
01:04:46to compete in the box
01:04:47but Grimsby's quality
01:04:49was a little bit too much for them
01:04:50and they couldn't match them
01:04:52with quality
01:04:53and fitness
01:04:54and they unfortunately
01:04:55came under at the end
01:04:56yep absolutely
01:04:57well done to Grimsby Town
01:04:59so Macclesfield
01:04:59the only non-league team
01:05:01through to the fourth round draw
01:05:02which takes place on Monday
01:05:04the Wrexham revolution
01:05:05continues apace
01:05:07after three promotions
01:05:08in three seasons
01:05:09they're now attempting
01:05:10to reach the top flight
01:05:11for the first time
01:05:11in the club's history
01:05:12on Friday night
01:05:13they welcome Premier League
01:05:14Nottingham Forest
01:05:15Cameron Pope
01:05:16watch the first meeting
01:05:17between these two
01:05:18in more than 30 years
01:05:21Wrexham prepare to do battle
01:05:23with top tier opposition
01:05:24for the first time
01:05:26since their rise
01:05:27of the leagues began
01:05:28Sam Smith
01:05:29is the host
01:05:30Stanger Man
01:05:31goals in both games
01:05:33so far
01:05:34in 2026
01:06:04last year's semi-finalists
01:06:05for the first time
01:06:06since 1982
01:06:08their third round
01:06:09opponents back then
01:06:10top tier Nottingham Forest
01:06:12and that day
01:06:13ended with a cup upset
01:06:15back up
01:06:17lovely curl on the ball
01:06:19oh and it's come free
01:06:20and it's Douglas Luiz
01:06:22and he scores
01:06:24and Nottingham Forest
01:06:26have the lead
01:06:26it'll do that
01:06:28Wrexham asking the question
01:06:29I think they think
01:06:30it was handball
01:06:32you can see here
01:06:33just comes off his arm
01:06:35doesn't it
01:06:40Doyle's ball
01:06:46Wrexham fighting to win it back
01:06:47it's come to Gakache
01:06:48oh he's done it
01:06:52Liberato Gakache's
01:06:53first goal
01:06:54in Wrexham colours
01:06:55and look at what it means
01:07:00another war
01:07:01for Wrexham's perseverance
01:07:02Hutchinson lost it
01:07:03no foul against Dobson
01:07:05what about the finish as well
01:07:08and he gets a big bit of help as well
01:07:10under deflection
01:07:11off Morata
01:07:15there goes Jesus
01:07:17with a foot in
01:07:17and then beaten by Doyle
01:07:19this could get better for Wrexham
01:07:20here's Broadhead
01:07:23Flicking one through
01:07:24oh and Rathbone
01:07:25it's 2-0
01:07:28two goals
01:07:29in rapid succession
01:07:31to stun Nottingham Forest
01:07:35again giving away
01:07:37this time by Igor Jesus
01:07:38and Wrexham weren't hanging around
01:07:41Broadhead had his head up
01:07:43bit of fortune
01:07:44maybe about the way
01:07:45he canons back
01:07:46to Wally Rathbone
01:07:48you make your own look though
01:07:49they say
01:07:52this is why people buy
01:07:53for forklifts
01:07:57and here goes Jesus again
01:07:58stopped by Sam Smith
01:08:00but without the concession
01:08:01of a free kick
01:08:03and maybe one chance
01:08:04late in this first half
01:08:06for Forest
01:08:06oh they've gone quickly
01:08:08and inaccurately
01:08:09I look at Sam Smith
01:08:11while he was inside
01:08:11his own heart
01:08:13and he's away
01:08:14and surely off
01:08:17what a let off
01:08:20and they can't believe
01:08:21it's not three
01:08:24down to his club colours
01:08:26this man doesn't feel
01:08:27the cold
01:08:27but his side are winning
01:08:28against the Premier League team
01:08:32Savona
01:08:34oh
01:08:34off the frame of the goal
01:08:37and this time it will count
01:08:41and Igor Jesus
01:08:42has got Nottingham Forest
01:08:44back into this cup's eye
01:08:47this ball seemed to hang
01:08:48in the air for an age
01:08:50it certainly went over the line
01:08:53just gets the angle right
01:08:55off the inside of the post
01:08:57and despite the best efforts
01:08:58of Doyle
01:08:59it's certainly a goal
01:09:01and it was certainly needed
01:09:05Josh Windas is cross
01:09:07and straight into Nico Williams
01:09:10he will have a free kick
01:09:12to follow it up though
01:09:16Dobson's setting this one up
01:09:20oh they've done it again
01:09:21brilliant
01:09:22brilliant from Hyde
01:09:26the definition of bullet header
01:09:30one of those balls
01:09:31that's so close to the goalkeeper
01:09:32that if an attacker gets there first
01:09:35well
01:09:35they're always good odds
01:09:38nobody was going to stop
01:09:39Dom Hyam getting that ball
01:09:41what a time
01:09:42to get your first goal
01:09:44for the club
01:09:46and Nottingham Forest
01:09:47what's more
01:09:48with a quarter of an hour remaining
01:09:50are left with it all to do
01:10:03there is no rest
01:10:04no time to switch off
01:10:05against the Premier League team
01:10:12Nottingham Forest
01:10:13Nottingham Forest are not done
01:10:18very little time remains
01:10:20Savona
01:10:21Hudson-Odoi
01:10:23fabulous fabulous finish
01:10:25from Callum Hudson-Odoi
01:10:28and he might just have rescued
01:10:30Nottingham Forest
01:10:31single-handedly
01:10:33the first time since the scoring started
01:10:35Nottingham Forest
01:10:36the level
01:10:38and that might well mean
01:10:40we're set for an extra half an hour
01:10:47both sides are giving this game everything
01:10:51Oh Windas
01:10:54Saved by Sales
01:10:55and he had to make himself big there
01:10:57an enormous chance
01:10:59to re-establish a lead
01:11:07Oh McLean's missed
01:11:09Blaze that one over the top
01:11:14Igor Jesus
01:11:17Saved by a Conquart
01:11:18and Nottingham Forest cannot take advantage
01:11:24Jay Rodriguez
01:11:26with Wrexham's fifth penalty
01:11:28Oh call as you like
01:11:35Nottingham Forest's fifth penalty
01:11:37They trail 4-3
01:11:40This has to go in
01:11:43Romare Hutchinson
01:11:44facing Arthur Aconquo
01:11:49Saved by Aconquo
01:11:51These dreams keep getting wilder
01:11:55Wrexham's epic rise
01:11:57has another big dose of FA Cup fever
01:12:01against the Championship side
01:12:03who are in to round four
01:12:06The first half is completely unacceptable
01:12:08I let the players know
01:12:09there are certain individuals
01:12:10who certainly know
01:12:11and they can look in the mirror
01:12:12at that side of things
01:12:13but the strangeness of football
01:12:15the players who come on in the second half
01:12:17I thought they were a credit
01:12:18and we went on
01:12:19and looked like a Premier League side
01:12:20It's a big night for the club
01:12:21it really is
01:12:22I'm just pleased for this group of players
01:12:24to write their bit of history
01:12:26in the FA Cup for the club
01:12:27Had you practised penalties?
01:12:29Had you thought about it before this?
01:12:30Yes we did actually
01:12:31we practised them yesterday
01:12:32and it's always key to just go through
01:12:35and get everybody
01:12:36just that bit of confidence
01:12:38and the lad's struck him well
01:12:39but Arthur is the hero tonight
01:12:42Congratulations to Phil Parkinson
01:12:44and Rob
01:12:45Arthur Aconquo
01:12:46he needed that
01:12:47especially after that howler
01:12:49in the Championship
01:12:50just before Christmas
01:12:51I knew you'd bring that up
01:12:52he has the night of his life
01:12:53and you bring up a mistake
01:12:55Come on
01:12:56this is reporting
01:12:57it's journalism
01:12:57it's important
01:12:58It's a brilliant night for him
01:12:59it was a really hectic 120 minutes
01:13:02wasn't it
01:13:02and he kept his composure throughout
01:13:04just to back him up
01:13:05and what an evening for him
01:13:07he had wonderful footwork in there
01:13:09for one save with this
01:13:10and then you're looking at
01:13:11when you can come composure
01:13:13when your team needs you
01:13:15and you come through strong
01:13:16he had a little bit of luck
01:13:17with this save
01:13:18pushing it back out
01:13:19and then the rebound off the studs
01:13:20of his boots basically
01:13:21and when your luck's in
01:13:23it's in as a keeper
01:13:24and he was just a credit
01:13:25throughout the night
01:13:27because he had seven saves
01:13:28in the whole game
01:13:29and he let in some goals
01:13:30but the saves in the penalty shootout
01:13:32go in with real conviction
01:13:34and this is the one I think
01:13:35for the winning penalty save
01:13:36look how far he goes beyond the post
01:13:39and once he saves it
01:13:40the power that goes through it
01:13:42he gets beyond the post
01:13:44if you're going to go
01:13:45go with conviction
01:13:46and even Arthur Aconquo
01:13:48went with conviction
01:13:49he was brilliant
01:13:49we love goalkeepers
01:13:50don't we Dion?
01:13:51yeah
01:13:51I think so
01:13:53I think so
01:13:54but also Danny Ward
01:13:56is coming back into contention
01:13:57he got injured in August
01:13:59big money signing of course
01:14:00and he's coming back
01:14:01so in many ways
01:14:02things are happening for Wrexham
01:14:03in the cup
01:14:03and also in the league
01:14:04I mean
01:14:05they could make the Premier League
01:14:06this story is incredible
01:14:07should be turned into
01:14:08some sort of documentary
01:14:09it keeps on rolling and rolling
01:14:12Ryan Reynolds enjoyed it
01:14:13I was in Wrexham
01:14:14just before Christmas
01:14:15and they were telling me
01:14:16what it's done for the town
01:14:17it's absolutely incredible
01:14:19oh it's great
01:14:19it's amazing
01:14:21my two best mates were there
01:14:22at the game
01:14:23in a box below
01:14:24Ryan Reynolds
01:14:25and they kept looking up
01:14:26and every time they looked up
01:14:27he was dancing
01:14:28and then he had his sunglasses on
01:14:29and he was hugging people
01:14:31then he would have a
01:14:32costume change
01:14:33and then he's got his
01:14:34you know
01:14:35and he just seemed to enjoy himself
01:14:36he seems to
01:14:38he's invested in this
01:14:39you know
01:14:39he's really involved
01:14:41in getting this team
01:14:42to as high as they possibly can
01:14:44to achieve
01:14:45as much as they possibly can
01:14:47and look at him
01:14:48you know
01:14:49he's animated
01:14:50and all the fans
01:14:51can see him doing this
01:14:53Dion you make a great point there
01:14:54you know
01:14:54he's invested in it
01:14:55not just financially
01:14:56but you can see
01:14:57what him and Rob have done
01:14:58they've done it emotionally
01:14:59they're very much
01:15:00in the football club
01:15:01and in the town Rob
01:15:02it makes them feel alive
01:15:03and they're just like
01:15:04any other fan
01:15:05they're there
01:15:05living it
01:15:06absolutely
01:15:06living the dream
01:15:07thank you very much indeed
01:15:09all right
01:15:10heading into this weekend
01:15:11neither Everton or Sunderland
01:15:12had won a match in 2026
01:15:14could the cup provide
01:15:15a fresh start
01:15:16commentary from Simon Grayson
01:15:17and Daniel Mann
01:15:23an all Premier League tie
01:15:25full of intrigue
01:15:29and Tarkovsky does make
01:15:30the first contact
01:15:31Armstrong
01:15:33Armstrong just doesn't
01:15:34get his body
01:15:35and his knee
01:15:36over the ball
01:15:36and slices it
01:15:38over the top
01:15:38with a big opportunity
01:15:39for Everton
01:15:43long throw could be
01:15:44a route to success
01:15:45so he's been on
01:15:46a few occasions
01:15:48well not dealt with
01:15:49with great conviction
01:15:50Le Fay
01:15:52well he takes full advantage
01:15:54and Sunderland have won
01:15:56in this third round tie
01:15:59Everton didn't deal
01:16:00well enough
01:16:00with the long throw
01:16:02in but
01:16:02take Nothik away
01:16:04from Le Fay
01:16:04that's a fantastic finish
01:16:05on the volley
01:16:06side footed as well
01:16:09Sunderland
01:16:10in good voice
01:16:11in the stands
01:16:12and in a terrific position
01:16:13on the pitch
01:16:16Shaka's corner of Le Fay
01:16:17arriving on the near post
01:16:18just peeking to it
01:16:19spectacular
01:16:20and Pickford able
01:16:22to make the save
01:16:22to deny
01:16:24Mukilic
01:16:25well it's an
01:16:26unbelievable
01:16:27overhead kick
01:16:28and Pickford gets
01:16:29across really quickly
01:16:32Garner negotiating
01:16:34the situation
01:16:34neatly
01:16:35in tight space
01:16:36but Serkin
01:16:37first to show
01:16:38Mundell
01:16:39coming inside
01:16:40and Pickford
01:16:42flying across
01:16:42again
01:16:45shows the capabilities
01:16:47and why is England
01:16:48number one's goalkeeper
01:16:49by getting across
01:16:49and having a strong
01:16:50left hand
01:16:54here's McNeil
01:16:56Armstrong
01:16:58through one challenge
01:17:01Patterson to hang it up
01:17:02Beto was he
01:17:05impeded
01:17:05was there a tug of the shirt
01:17:10Beto's looking for it
01:17:11both holding on
01:17:12to each other
01:17:13I think Beto's got
01:17:14hold of
01:17:14Trahune's shirt as well
01:17:20this is Asnu's
01:17:21first involvement
01:17:23chance to rein one in
01:17:24with a left foot
01:17:24and it could have been
01:17:25very inviting
01:17:26but Granit Xhaka
01:17:27with some brilliant positioning
01:17:28but look at the drive
01:17:29and determination
01:17:29from the debutant here
01:17:30Asnu
01:17:31goes down
01:17:32wants a penalty
01:17:33he'll get it
01:17:35well talk about
01:17:36impact substitution
01:17:39massive moment
01:17:40and what an impact
01:17:41by the fire
01:17:43James Garner
01:17:44accepts the
01:17:45weighty responsibility
01:17:46to try and keep
01:17:48Everton in the FA Cup
01:17:50and he's more than
01:17:52up to it
01:17:53well Sandler
01:17:54will howl long
01:17:55into the night
01:17:56with some justification
01:17:58about the merits
01:17:59of that decision
01:18:00but James Garner
01:18:02not worrying about that
01:18:03and producing
01:18:04the kind of coolness
01:18:05that's now
01:18:06customary
01:18:13maybe a little
01:18:14sign of tiredness
01:18:14there from Sunderland
01:18:15it's Tieno
01:18:17Barry
01:18:17and he's found
01:18:19Beto
01:18:21and Beto
01:18:22only finds
01:18:23the side
01:18:23netting
01:18:32Sunderland
01:18:32looking bright
01:18:33is it all
01:18:34feeding Hume
01:18:36Lafay's up
01:18:36with him
01:18:40Jacker on his
01:18:41on his favoured foot
01:18:43and Tarkovsky
01:18:45in the way
01:18:45this time
01:18:49so James Garner
01:18:54Robin Roofs
01:18:55makes the save
01:19:00so it's Enzo
01:19:02Lafay
01:19:05no doubts
01:19:06no doubts
01:19:06no dramas
01:19:07Pickford
01:19:07guess is right
01:19:10massive presence
01:19:11of Roofs
01:19:12in front of him
01:19:13and Roofs
01:19:15is turning
01:19:16into Sunderland's
01:19:17hero
01:19:18and a tale
01:19:19of regret
01:19:20for Tieno
01:19:20Barry
01:19:23Granit
01:19:24Xhaka
01:19:25and spot on
01:19:28Pickford barely had time
01:19:30to register
01:19:30that it had been taken
01:19:33well
01:19:34one
01:19:35striker fails
01:19:37another needs
01:19:38to score
01:19:39and Beto
01:19:39doesn't score
01:19:40and Sunderland
01:19:42a one kick away
01:19:47but one of
01:19:48Sunderland's
01:19:49great characters
01:19:50has a chance
01:19:51to win
01:19:52this FA Cup tie
01:19:54against one of
01:19:56Sunderland's
01:19:56greatest products
01:19:59and he does
01:20:00and you couldn't
01:20:01win it
01:20:01any more
01:20:03emphatically
01:20:03than that
01:20:05and it's a day
01:20:06of triumph
01:20:08for the Black Cats
01:20:09in the FA Cup
01:20:11before the penalties
01:20:12went
01:20:13the goalkeeper
01:20:13coach comes to me
01:20:14he shows me
01:20:15a little bit
01:20:16where they expect
01:20:17him to shoot
01:20:18what is their
01:20:19preferred side
01:20:20which foot they are
01:20:20I think if you
01:20:22save three penalties
01:20:23out of three
01:20:24I don't want to
01:20:25call it a hero
01:20:26because I could
01:20:26have been a hero
01:20:27if I saved it
01:20:28in the game
01:20:28but no
01:20:29it's a nice way
01:20:30to help the team
01:20:31Rob I promise
01:20:32you we will
01:20:33praise the goal
01:20:34keeping in just
01:20:34a moment
01:20:35after we just
01:20:36tidy up the
01:20:37penalty
01:20:37for Everton
01:20:38what are you
01:20:38thinking
01:20:38the no penalty
01:20:42yeah Hume
01:20:43on Asnu
01:20:44here
01:20:44I mean
01:20:45Asnu puts
01:20:45across him
01:20:46then he goes
01:20:46to retrieve it
01:20:47again
01:20:47he gets involved
01:20:48in the tackle
01:20:49and then there's
01:20:50a little bit
01:20:50of contact
01:20:50right there
01:20:51I don't know
01:20:53what the referee
01:20:54has seen
01:20:54it's just
01:20:55shoulder to
01:20:55shoulder
01:20:56it's never
01:20:57ever a penalty
01:20:59if there was
01:21:00VAR
01:21:01they would have
01:21:01you know
01:21:02taken it away
01:21:03it's just
01:21:04really really
01:21:04poor refereeing
01:21:05and Jack is not
01:21:06happy
01:21:07not happy
01:21:07as you can see
01:21:09yeah
01:21:10that cup was
01:21:10never seen again
01:21:11no
01:21:13let's talk about
01:21:13Rob
01:21:13he's having a
01:21:14great season
01:21:15isn't he Rob
01:21:15yeah brilliant
01:21:16so composed
01:21:17so calm
01:21:17and he was so
01:21:18calm in these
01:21:18penalties as well
01:21:19so he's just
01:21:20having a chat
01:21:20with the goalkeeper
01:21:21Koski Cutler
01:21:22and he's just
01:21:23having a
01:21:23where they've been
01:21:24but he had a
01:21:25little hand up
01:21:25before because
01:21:26he'd already
01:21:26faced one of
01:21:27the penalty
01:21:27takers
01:21:28and the thing
01:21:29is when the
01:21:29guys are walking
01:21:30up and doing
01:21:31this slow motion
01:21:32you've got to
01:21:33wait
01:21:33you've got to
01:21:34wait for them
01:21:35to move
01:21:36to blink first
01:21:37basically
01:21:37and that's what
01:21:39he does
01:21:39and they're
01:21:40terrible penalties
01:21:41that one
01:21:41and Beto's
01:21:42are really
01:21:42poor penalties
01:21:43but he's
01:21:44waiting and
01:21:45making them
01:21:45be poor penalties
01:21:46because he's
01:21:48just keeping
01:21:48his calm
01:21:49keeping his
01:21:49nerve
01:21:50great goalkeeper
01:21:51brilliant stuff
01:21:51right finally
01:21:52all the goals
01:21:53from the seven
01:21:53other third round
01:21:54ties played
01:21:55across Friday
01:21:55and today
01:21:59championship
01:21:59promotion
01:22:00contenders
01:22:00clashed at the
01:22:01Bet365 stadium
01:22:03with Stoke City
01:22:03fans hoping
01:22:04their team
01:22:05could exploit
01:22:05the leaders
01:22:06Coventry City's
01:22:07recent stuttering
01:22:07form
01:22:08Coventry famously
01:22:09won this trophy
01:22:10in 1987
01:22:11knocking out
01:22:12Stoke en route
01:22:13to the final
01:22:14they struck
01:22:15the post twice
01:22:15in the space
01:22:16of seven minutes
01:22:17after their
01:22:17marked improvement
01:22:18following the
01:22:19interval
01:22:19first Haji
01:22:21right header
01:22:21came back
01:22:22off the
01:22:22woodwork
01:22:23with the
01:22:23goal
01:22:23gaping
01:22:24then Jack
01:22:25Rodoni's
01:22:26deflected effort
01:22:27clipped defender
01:22:27Ashley Phillips
01:22:28leg before
01:22:29meeting a
01:22:30similar fate
01:22:30Frank Lampard's
01:22:32Sky Blues
01:22:33would rue
01:22:33those missed
01:22:34opportunities
01:22:47progress for
01:22:48Mark Robbins
01:22:48in the cup
01:22:49and revenge
01:22:50for their
01:22:50narrow defeat
01:22:51in the league
01:22:51in November
01:22:53these two sides
01:22:55will hope to be
01:22:55in the championship
01:22:56promotion race
01:22:57this season
01:22:57plenty of changes
01:22:58for both
01:22:59of the two
01:23:00Bristol City
01:23:01made fewer
01:23:01and started
01:23:02better
01:23:02inside two minutes
01:23:04Emil Rees
01:23:05headed them
01:23:05in front
01:23:07compared to
01:23:07Watford
01:23:08City have been
01:23:08inconsistent in the
01:23:10league
01:23:10but it was all
01:23:11in sync here
01:23:11this time
01:23:12Rees spotted
01:23:13Anis Mehmeti
01:23:14who made it
01:23:15two
01:23:16it was one
01:23:17of those days
01:23:17when everything
01:23:18came off
01:23:18for City
01:23:19Scott Twine
01:23:20sent in a cross
01:23:20which Rob
01:23:21Atkinson
01:23:22got to
01:23:22before the

01:23:36Jack Greaves
01:23:37with a goal
01:23:38that barely
01:23:39qualified as a

01:24:50in Cambridge
01:24:51there's a
01:24:51cut tie
01:24:52over there
01:24:52somewhere
01:24:54and Birmingham
01:24:55City began
01:24:56brightly in the
01:24:56murk
01:24:57first they
01:24:58tried to

01:25:21Celtic fans
01:25:22remember him
01:25:22for
01:25:23Cambridge
01:25:24offered Birmingham

01:25:30and it seemed
01:25:31that would be

01:25:38Salai Kaikai
01:25:39got one back
