00:00A West Midlands businessman has admitted sending grossly offensive emails to the MP Suella Braverman.
00:07Jugjeevan Ram, aged 65, pleaded guilty to two offences under the Malicious Communications Act at Birmingham Magistrates Court.
00:15Prosecutors said the messages were sent on separate dates in June 2024 and were indecent or grossly offensive,
00:23intended to cause distress or anxiety to the former Home Secretary.
00:27He was granted bail and ordered not to contact Ms Braverman before sentencing.
00:32His defence said prescribed medication contributed to a fogginess in his thinking.
00:38The court did not hear the content of the emails during the brief hearing.
00:42Sentencing is due in April.
