00:00The world's fourth richest man, Mark Zuckerberg, found himself in a courtroom Wednesday to answer
00:05accusations that his products, namely Facebook and Instagram, are harmful to users, especially
00:10younger ones. Mark Lanier, the attorney for the California woman who brought the suit,
00:15which claimed social media destroyed her mental health while she was a young teen,
00:19showed the jury emails in which Zuckerberg discussed goals to increase time spent on
00:24the apps by double-digit percentages. Now, asked if those targets went against congressional
00:30testimony when he claimed Meta didn't give teams such goals, Zuckerberg said, quote,
00:35If you are trying to say my testimony was not accurate, I strongly disagree with that.
00:40Now, if you know anything about VIPs on the witness stand, he was no doubt ready for that question.
00:46Zuckerberg was also pressed on whether Instagram is truly off-limits to children under 13,
00:51as is the company's stated policy. He admitted that enforcement is a problem,
00:55but Meta stands by the rule, saying, quote,
00:58I generally think that there are a set of people, potentially a meaningful number of people,
01:02who lie about their age in order to use our services. There's a separate and very important
01:06question about enforcement, and it's very difficult. Zuckerberg was greeted outside of the courthouse by
01:10protesters, parents whose children were hurt or even died as a result of social media use.
01:15Now, they're just a tiny slice of the 86 percent of Americans who said recently that they
01:20want to see the likes of Meta or Google held accountable for the safety of their most vulnerable
01:25users. We're learning more about Rhode Island shooter Robert Dorgan's possible motive,
01:31the trans killer who took the lives of his ex-wife and son and critically injured several others.
01:36One of his daughters, he reportedly had six children, told local news station WPRI, quote,
01:42I just want to make sure people understand this was one person's vendetta against their family.
01:47We were targeted. This was very specific. It wasn't random. Amanda Wallace Hubbard,
01:53who is Dorgan's daughter from a different relationship, went on to say that she and her
01:57young sons were at the hockey game where this tragedy took place and witnessed the shooting.
02:02She also said something truly chilling, that she locked eyes with her father during his rampage.
02:08Miraculously, she and her children weren't shot. Wallace Hubbard believes the only reason they
02:13are all alive is because of the bravery of a good Samaritan, Michael Black. He jumped into action
02:19in the middle of the chaos and helped stop Dorgan from doing more damage. Now, Black says he tried to
02:25grab the gun physically out of the shooter's hand, but his own hand got caught in the sliding chamber
02:30of the firearm, effectively jamming the weapon. Dorgan was able to push Black off of him, but by then
02:36others rushed in, choking the gunman. Now, Black says at the point they had both fallen down,
02:42he was eye to eye with Dorgan. And that is when the shooter pulled out his second weapon
02:46and took his own life. A Minnesota middle school is under fire after an eighth grade geography class
02:52was given a lesson about immigration enforcement, specifically that ICE officers are using, quote,
02:58tricky and violent tactics to harass and arrest what they called thousands of legal immigrants.
03:03A conservative group called Defending Education published excerpts from a PowerPoint that they
03:08say was shown to students at Hermantown Middle School outside of Duluth. The slides were reportedly
03:14part of a geography lesson that included a primer on why, quote, people think the ICE agents have gone
03:20too far. As for those tricky and violent tactics mentioned, the slide went on to claim, quote,
03:2622 people died in ICE custody so far in 2025, not filing paperwork to track arrests, wearing masks to hide
03:33identities. Now, the teacher in this class also is accused of encouraging students to watch videos
03:38of, in their words, inhumane migrant detention centers, as well as footage of ICE operations in
03:44order to receive extra credit. The materials were shared with the conservative group by a parent,
03:48but the school district superintendent says the slides published by Defending Education were
03:52selective. Quote, our staff strive to share both viewpoints on an issue. Defending Education is showing
03:59one side, but, for example, doesn't include a pro-ICE video shared by the same teacher. Now,
04:04the school declined to provide the pro-ICE material from the lesson.
