00:00Good morning everyone, good morning people of VivaTech, LVMH executives, innovation leaders and tech visionaries.
00:12Welcome to this brand new edition of the LVMH Innovation Award.
00:16My name is Sandy Herbert and I will be your host for today's high speed, high stakes, high style ceremony.
00:22You've seen it on screen or maybe you have already experienced it, but LVMH this year invites you into Dreamscape,
00:30a world where stories connect, the stories of LVMH Maisons and startups showcasing the most inspiring and successful collaborations.
00:39And here you all are, you guys, all in this room selected for your cutting edge projects developed with LVMH
00:47Maisons,
00:48your bold thinking and your drive to shape the future of luxury.
00:52Today you all are in the race in the three major categories, best business, best impact and most promising awards.
01:01To officially launch this show, please welcome on today the LVMH Group Managing Director, Mr. Stéphane Bianchi.
01:22Does it work?
01:23Yes, good.
01:24Hello, good morning.
01:26Welcome.
01:27It's a real privilege to open this new 2025 innovation award ceremony.
01:36Once again, this year we are back at VivaTech for one word, which is innovation.
01:42Innovation, it can mean different things for different people.
01:48Innovation can be something we are looking for to improve our performance, to improve our quality, to improve our efficiency
02:02or for newness.
02:03excellence.
02:04For LVMH, it's only about one word, which is excellence.
02:10Excellence in all what we do and excellence in all what we create.
02:18So for us, innovation should bring this excellent thing.
02:28Excellence also in our experiences, and this is very key.
02:33experience with our customers wherever they are, on site, in our shops, offline, online, during different events.
02:47We have to be excellent.
02:50Innovation and excellence work also together for desirability.
02:58Desirability crafting campaigns, consumer journeys, optimized visibility, and this is very important, but also for exemplarity.
03:11HR, CSR, as we will see with our start-upers very, very soon.
03:19Operation.
03:20Innovation.
03:21We can aim for excellence with innovating approach in those fields too.
03:28And we will.
03:29And we are.
03:31Our second belief, I have to say, our second part three, when it comes to innovation, is that we do
03:40believe in a human first approach for tech.
03:46For us, no one will ever know better than our talents, than our craftsmen, what's missing to make a product
03:57really excellent, really perfect, genuine.
04:03And this is very important.
04:05And this is very important.
04:06No machine for us will ever have human attention to details, precision, curiosity.
04:15Emotion will always be there, but we believe and we are sure that it can be enhanced, scaled, amplified with
04:28the right usage of tech.
04:31Thank you very much, Stefan.
04:33Now we're talking about excellence, pioneering innovation, but also precision.
04:37I would like to come back with what turned all the heads across the past year with this incredible 10
04:44-year global partnership with Formula One.
04:47Yes, you saw it.
04:48Yes, you saw it.
04:49Yes, we started this year an amazing partnership.
04:52That's right.
04:53It started in Melbourne, Australia, and it was just fantastic.
05:01Well, of course, you may know that we have had a very long story with Formula One in the 60s.
05:08It started in the 60s.
05:11So it was natural for us, of course, to renew the links.
05:15But more than history, what's very important for us is our common values.
05:20And we will see it later with you.
05:24We shared common values about endless quest for innovation, for high performance, and the pursuit of excellence.
05:34And this is very important.
05:36And you will see during these different events that at every Grand Prix is an exceptional opportunity for us to
05:46showcase all those values.
05:49We can display with Louis Vuitton, with Tag Heuer, with Moëtan Chandon, everything they are doing with excellence.
06:02This is the heart of chronometry for Tag Heuer.
06:07This is the trophy trunk for Louis Vuitton.
06:11This is the podium celebration, as some of you can remember, in the 70s or 60s for Moëtan Chandon.
06:22And we had so far only nine races, nine Grand Prix.
06:29And we've got 231 Grand Prix to go.
06:32So we are very excited.
06:34Thank you very much.
06:36Thank you very much, Stefan, for your insights.
06:41I propose that we maybe relive the standout moments of the past few weeks on and off track.
07:37Let's go.
07:38Come on.
07:41Have a great day.
07:41More of you.
07:41I mean everything.
07:52You are crazy.
07:56Jon, do you really want a climax of all these events?
07:57We are crazy friends that we have the most.
07:57Everyone.
08:03Have a great day.
08:04What have you heard?
08:05Have a great day.
08:06Sous-titrage Société Radio-Canada
08:48Thank you so much.
08:50Hello, Ellen, and welcome on this beautiful stage.
08:52Thank you for being with us this morning.
08:55Formula One, as we know, has been, of course, long associated with speed, advanced engineering, global travel.
09:02So the commitment to reaching net zero carbon by 2030 actually seems pretty ambitious, but also forward thinking.
09:10Could you maybe explain us what are the key innovations on and off track that will actually help us go
09:16towards this objective?
09:18Absolutely. And I'll also add a couple more adjectives about how we talk about Formula One, because it's about the
09:25cultural mindset.
09:26So efficiency, speed, performance, unrelenting improvement processes, which are all critical to how we deliver sustainability.
09:35And when we look at our target, net zero by 2030, which means halving our emissions by 50% against
09:44our 2018 baselines, we have to ask ourselves two questions.
09:48One, what is Formula One's responsibility in terms of how we innovate and how we develop solutions within our own
09:55operations?
09:56So that sustainability is part of each and every role and each and every decision when we have another fantastic
10:03race, when we look at a new project or a new innovation.
10:07And then the second piece, which is what we're talking about today, is how do we innovate the way we
10:12live?
10:12How do we bring innovations and sustainability that only Formula One can bring?
10:17And the travel logistics sector is critically important. It's how we get here today.
10:22It's how we host large events. And it's where Formula One is driving solutions.
10:27The most important, which we are talking about for 2026, or rather one of the many, is called advanced sustainable
10:34fuel.
10:35And what that is, is a fuel that is not from fossil fuel sources, that reduces our carbon emissions, and
10:41most importantly, is applicable to road cars today.
10:45It's been designed specifically to be able to increase its usage so that you can start with, as we have
10:52in our safety and medical cars, mixing in at 40%,
10:55as we have in our F2, F3 cars, mixing in at 55%, showing that you can scale solutions.
11:03And in the Formula One cars, you will see that in 100% in 2026.
11:07We are looking forward to that.
11:10I was wondering, how has Formula One's dedication to technology and innovation has enabled the sport to make a difference
11:17and have an impact in the local communities where you actually have Formula One races?
11:21There are two sides that we look at when we say, how do we make a balanced impact in our
11:26communities where we race?
11:27It's wonderful when you have an event. There's so much excitement, just like we are here today.
11:31But there also are two sides of it. The first is the impact of our event itself.
11:36How do we ensure that we are looking at fan travel solutions?
11:39How do we push forward the renewable energy transition everywhere that we race?
11:44And what we're seeing is that we can build solutions today and that we can scale them across the globe.
11:50If you are lucky enough to be going to one of our European races this year, we have in the
11:56paddock an event energy transition solution.
11:59And what this is, is it combines the latest technologies in generators, in batteries, in advanced fuels like HVO, which
12:07is a second generation biofuel.
12:08Probably a bit too much detail for today, but critical for reducing our carbon emissions.
12:12And then it combines that with behavior change, because we all have to be part of this.
12:17And what we've done is we've worked with our teams, our partners, all of the users of the paddock to
12:22say, rather than bringing your own temporary energy supply, which is what you need at an event like this, when
12:27you have so many wonderful people on site, let us put it together.
12:32Let us bring the latest technologies and say, there's a solution that is powered by the renewable grid that then
12:37charges the batteries, that then means that our generators can run more efficiently.
12:41And put all of those latest data and technology together to say, we can reduce the energy on site by
12:47over 90%.
12:4890%?
12:49I know. It's an amazing number. And that's one area of what we're doing. And so for us, what we're
12:55looking at at Formula One is scale. It's big numbers.
12:59It's not looking to say, we've done a great trial here, and that was fantastic. What we're looking to say
13:05is, we've done a great trial.
13:07Does this make business sense to scale? And how quickly can we do that? And so that's part one.
13:13Yes.
13:14I think part two, what we're looking at is our local communities. And so when we talk about innovation, and
13:19you talk about the next generation of technologies, what you really need is the next generation of engineers.
13:24And so Formula One works extensively with our global communities to help inspire the next generation of engineers in STEM,
13:33so science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
13:35And we have a number of programs globally that work at the primary level, the secondary level, as well as
13:42the tertiary level, to help people be inspired.
13:44Girls as young as seven make the decision to drop out of science topics. That is wild and a figure
13:51that we absolutely want to change.
13:53And sport has an ability to bring relevance, and it also has an ability to bring role models, so that
13:59people can see not only the subject that they're learning, but the future career that they could have, and it's
14:04something that we all want to do more of.
14:06Definitely. Thank you so much, Ellen, for these insights. It's so inspirational. It just shows how fast F1 can actually
14:12go when it comes to innovation.
14:14And just like an F1 team, you guys, our tech partners work with the LVMH Maisons with the same precision
14:20and drive to deliver impact.
14:22Which brings us to our own Grand Prix today, the LVMH Innovation Awards ceremony. Thank you very much, Ellen. Have
14:28a nice and cheer day.
14:29Thank you.
14:39Well, welcoming on stage the LVMH Innovation Masters, everyone. Franck Lemoyle, CIO of LVMH, as well as Gonzague Depuret, Chief
14:49Omni-Channel and Data Officer. Good. Big fans in the room.

15:22j'ai parlé avant, were the guiding light for our jury.
15:25First, luxury customer experience.
15:28Second, brand des admirer et letty.
15:30Et, of course, exemplary leadership.
15:32From there, we look very carefully
15:35to another key criteria,
15:37and very important one,
15:38especially now,
15:39the quality of each startup collaboration,
15:41you guys,
15:42and the capability to scale within the group.
15:45This criteria shape the foundation for today awards.
15:48Without losing time,
15:49Gonzague, Nao,
15:52let's discover the list of this fantastic project.
15:55Yes, Franck,
15:56and hello, everyone.

30:09Good morning,
30:11everyone.
30:12Given the importance
30:13of human-first
30:15craftsmanship
30:16and human-first
30:18creativity,
30:19as Stéphane
30:20was saying
30:20at the beginning,
30:21it is of critical
30:22importance
30:23to really
30:24beautify
30:26and magnify
30:27our products
30:28in the huge
30:30amount of content
30:31we produce
30:32every day.

31:46Many photographers.
31:49Congratulations,
31:50Hugo.
31:51Thank you so much.
31:51We want to hear
31:51from you.
31:52Yes,
31:53so thank you
31:53to Group LVMH,
31:54thank you
31:55to House Guerlain.
31:56As you said,
31:57as French
31:57pioneers
31:58of 3D AI,
31:59a mix of 3D
32:00and Gen AI,
32:01it is very humbling
32:02for us
32:03to be able
32:03to work
32:03on such iconic
32:04houses
32:05and such iconic
32:06products.
32:07House Guerlain
32:08is 200 years old,
32:09Shalimar
32:10is going to be
32:10100 years old,
32:12OMI is 5 years old
32:13and we are both
32:13French companies.
32:15So it's very,
32:15very humbling
32:16and we are very proud
32:18to be part
32:18of the journey.
32:19Thank you so much,
32:20guys.
32:20Thank you.
32:21Congratulations again,
32:22Mr. Borenstein.
32:22Stay with us.
32:23Thank you, Mathilde.
32:25If you want to please
32:26take a seat,
32:27thank you very much.
32:28Again,
32:28huge congratulations
32:29to all of the
32:30other incredible projects
32:31changing the game
32:32for the LVMH Maisons.
32:34and now we would like
32:35to end with a special
32:36Q&A session.
32:38Mr. Arnaud Senior
32:39actually couldn't be
32:40here with us today,
32:41unfortunately,
32:41but we have a great
32:42pleasure to welcome
32:43on stage Mr. Arnaud Junior,
32:45Antoine,
32:47for a moment of exchange
32:49with our winners today.
32:50Please, Antoine,
32:51join us on stage.
33:00Welcome, Antoine.
33:02Thank you.
33:02Before our Q&A session,
33:03a little word
33:04for our winners today.
33:05Yes.
33:07Before that,
33:08I would like to apologize
33:09in the name of my father
33:11and in the name of our group
33:12for his absence today.
33:15He really,
33:16of course,
33:16as every year
33:17since the beginning
33:18of this event,
33:19wish he could have been here,
33:21but you might have noticed
33:23that on top of his
33:25multiple hats,
33:27he also became recently
33:29a diplomat
33:30and his diplomacy skills
33:34made him unable
33:36to attend today.
33:37But it's nothing more than that
33:39and he's very sad
33:41that he couldn't be there.
33:42And, of course,
33:43congratulations
33:44to the three beautiful winners.
33:46Congratulations also
33:47to those who didn't win the award
33:49but already work
33:50with our Maison
33:52and I know
33:52that your help
33:54is invaluable
33:55and, well,
33:57let's have a talk now.
33:58Okay.
33:58Let's have a seat.
33:59And I think
34:00the first question
34:00is from you,
34:02Mr. Hugo Borenstein,
34:03from Mr. Antoine Arnault.
34:05Yes.
34:06Can you guys hear me?
34:07Yeah.
34:07So, obviously,
34:08you come from
34:09a very entrepreneurial family.
34:11My co-founder
34:12is my brother.
34:13so I was wondering
34:14if you have any piece
34:14of advice
34:15for successful family business.
34:19Well.
34:21Good question.
34:23So,
34:24I'm going to try
34:25to answer also
34:26because I know
34:29my father very well
34:30and I know
34:30what he probably
34:31would have answered here
34:32and I'll try
34:32to bring in
34:33my own piece of advice
34:35and my touch
34:36maybe for our generation.
34:39What I can tell you
34:41is that he
34:42and I was fortunate enough
34:44to see him grow.
34:46You know,
34:46we started
34:47I was born
34:48in north of France
34:49and I saw him
34:50from Ferinel,
34:52from real estate.
34:54He was always
34:56extremely focused
34:57and always had
34:58one goal
34:59and he didn't deviate.
35:01I know it might seem
35:02a little strange
35:02in a room full
35:03of tech entrepreneurs
35:05who know
35:06how to pivot
35:07but in his case
35:08he was always driven
35:10with one idea
35:12that was to create
35:13the biggest
35:13and best luxury group
35:15in the world.
35:16And the fact
35:17he'd never deviated
35:18and that no matter
35:19what advice he got,
35:20no matter what
35:20bad press he got,
35:22he continued,
35:23I think was one
35:23of the keys
35:24of his success.
35:26The second piece
35:28of advice
35:28I think he would
35:29give you
35:30is to always use
35:32both sides
35:33of the brain.
35:35The creative side
35:36of your brain
35:37is of course
35:37essential
35:38and is the key
35:41to any success
35:42because you need
35:42good ideas,
35:43you need to have
35:44sometimes
35:46out of the box ideas
35:47but any idea
35:49without the proper
35:50execution
35:51is worthless
35:52and it's exactly
35:54what he did.
35:55You know,
35:56he's also I think
35:57the perfect example
35:58of that.
35:58He's a great engineer,
36:00he did the best
36:00engineering school
36:01in France
36:02but he's also
36:03a great pianist.
36:05You need to have
36:06this mix of both
36:08to make magic happen.
36:11And I would say
36:12the last piece
36:14of advice
36:14that I would give you
36:16and that he would
36:16never say it
36:17is that you need
36:18also a little bit
36:19of craziness
36:20sometimes
36:21and you need
36:21to take crazy decisions
36:23once in a while.
36:25the example
36:26I have in mind
36:27in his case
36:28is in 1996
36:31when the group
36:32was much smaller
36:32and it was only
36:34composed of I think
36:3510 or 12 maisons
36:36and one of his jewels
36:39was Christian Dior.
36:40You know,
36:41very historical,
36:43beautiful couture maison
36:44and he decided
36:45on his own
36:46against the advice
36:47of everyone
36:48to name
36:49a young British
36:51a bit
36:51bad reputation
36:53designer
36:53called John Galliano
36:54a kid with dreadlocks
36:56coming in his office
36:57and just drawing
36:57in one hour
36:58a whole Christian Dior collection
37:00and he gave him
37:01the keys
37:02of Christian Dior.
37:03So once in a while
37:04also you have to
37:04take crazy decisions
37:06trust people
37:07that, you know,
37:08just make you feel
37:09in your stomach
37:10that something good
37:11is going to happen
37:12and yeah,
37:13I guess that would be
37:14my answer
37:14on the way
37:17that he performed.
37:18Thank you so much.
37:19Thank you.
37:19Thank you very much, Antoine.
37:23Second question
37:24our winner
37:25Kahuna,
37:26Mr. Gal Rapopo.
37:28Hey.
37:29So my question
37:30is today
37:31does excellence
37:32in customer relationship
37:33necessarily depends
37:35on innovation
37:36in your opinion?
37:38So on customer relationship,
37:41well,
37:41I'm a bit
37:42I'm not the best example
37:44either
37:45because I'm a bit
37:45old school
37:46for everything
37:48whether it's
37:49reading my newspaper,
37:50I like to have
37:51a paper newspaper
37:52when I have
37:53when I buy something
37:54I like going
37:55in the store
37:55and at LVMH
37:57we believe
37:57that old school
37:59is not bad.
38:00You know,
38:00you need to also remember
38:02how to create emotions
38:04and I feel
38:05it's much
38:06not easier
38:07but it's a much
38:08stronger emotion
38:09if you actually
38:10have human interaction.
38:12Now,
38:13this being said
38:14we will never
38:16have a better experience
38:18than one in the store
38:19but that is enhanced
38:21by any innovation
38:23any technology
38:24that can be brought to us
38:26and what we want
38:27is to be as efficient
38:28as possible
38:29but continuing
38:30to open
38:31beautiful stores
38:33and to have people
38:34in front of you
38:35interacting.
38:37Of course,
38:37technology will help us
38:39you know
38:39when you're too far away
38:41from a store
38:42we want to be
38:43best in class
38:43in bringing you
38:44the product you want
38:45but nothing will ever
38:47replace human interaction
38:48and I remember
38:49in the year
38:51what was it
38:51maybe 2000
38:52when Amazon
38:54was beginning to emerge
38:55and a lot of people
38:57were seriously thinking
38:58that it was going to be
38:59the end of retail
39:00and luxury retail
39:01in particular.
39:03At the time
39:04what did my father do
39:06and the group do?
39:08It opened the biggest stores ever.
39:11It tried to prove
39:12that you needed temples
39:14to not worship luxury products
39:18but at least to have
39:19a great experience
39:19and to yes,
39:21go in there
39:22and meet people
39:24drink a glass of champagne
39:26take your time
39:27and then maybe
39:29take a crazy decision
39:30on buying
39:31very expensive products.
39:35Thank you very much
39:36Mr. Arnaud.
39:37Third question is for you.
39:39Genesis Adrien de Malray.
39:41Yes,
39:41the last question
39:42but not least.
39:43We know that creation
39:44is at the heart
39:45of the Maison.
39:47How do you think
39:48that tech
39:48and innovation
39:49can help creativity?
39:53Well, I mean,
39:54you all know
39:54that answer
39:55that the two
39:56are so interlinked
39:58that they are almost
40:00you know,
40:01the heart
40:02and the brain.
40:03You need one
40:04for the other
40:05to perform.
40:07It was always
40:08also at the genesis
40:10of all of our Maison.
40:11I mean,
40:11we see innovation
40:12as something of today
40:13but if you think
40:15about it,
40:16the way that Louis Vuitton,
40:17which was not
40:18the only trunk maker
40:19at the time,
40:20emerged and became
40:21the Maison
40:22that it is today
40:23is that Louis Vuitton
40:25was an incredible innovator.
40:27He invented
40:27the flat trunk
40:28and that is how
40:30he emerged
40:31from the others.
40:32And it's valid
40:33for all the big Maisons
40:36in the group
40:36but all the big Maisons
40:37in the world.
40:39Ruinard and Veuve Clicquot
40:40invented
40:41Rosé Champagne.
40:43All our watch brands
40:46invented something
40:47so that they made
40:48something different
40:49to be able
40:50to emerge
40:52and to exist
40:53compared to their competitors.
40:54So they're interlinked.
40:56It's a tango.
40:57You know,
40:57once the creativity
40:59takes the lead
40:59and once the innovation
41:01takes the lead
41:01but definitely
41:02you need both
41:03to be able
41:03to perform
41:04at a high level.
41:05Thank you very much
41:06for these valuable insights.
