00:00Do you trust the major supermarkets?
00:01I don't trust.
00:02There's only a few people in the world I trust.
00:05Certainly not the CEOs of supermarkets.
00:08Oh, shit, no.
00:12Are Coles discounts fair dinkum?
00:15Aussie shoppers weigh in.
00:16The worst thing the supermarkets ever did was this fake...
00:21the introduction of these fake discounts.
00:23It's one of the biggest scams that ever hit the markets.
00:26I know basically the prices of things.
00:28Over many, many, many years of shopping that I've done.
00:31And in particular, the laundry detergents, soaps, toiletries, basically.
00:37And I remember the old prices.
00:39And then when they introduced these special discounts, in inverted commas,
00:45the discount price is virtually the old price that I used to pay.
00:49It's very frustrating.
00:50I think it's very wrong.
00:51But they should do this to the people and take us all for fools.
00:54Well, I don't take any...
00:55I shop at Coles.
00:56I don't take any notice of those.
00:58They're down, down.
00:59Because I...
01:00Unfortunately, I'm blessed with a good memory.
01:02So I remember prices and I know what I want to buy.
01:07I firmly believe they're more ethical than Woolworths.
01:10But that's just me.
01:12And I don't like Aldi.
01:13Do you trust the major supermarkets?
01:15I don't trust...
01:16There's only a few people in the world I trust.
01:18Certainly not the CEOs of supermarkets.
01:20Oh, shit, no.
01:22I heard that Coles is having problems about the discount.
01:28They should support more of the pensioner.
01:31I worked for more than 40 years.
01:34And then it's not enough for the pension that I got.
01:38So we cannot afford to buy them always.
01:41Just we do the budgeting.
01:43But trying to save their prices.
01:45It's sad to say that I can't save everybody else.
01:50By children are struggling.
01:51What I do is I go and only buy when the discounts are up.
01:55Which is like a 50% discount.
01:56So I know I'm paying the correct price.
01:58But most vulnerable people or people that don't have the time.
02:01Or people that have families and kids and other things to worry.
02:04And mortgages.
02:05And the political situation currently in Australia.
02:08Have those things to worry about.
02:09They don't.
02:10So they go shopping whenever they need.
02:11And they're compelled to pay that higher premium price.
02:20And they're compelled to pay that higher premium price.
