00:01Japan's prominence in shaping the future technology will be showcased not only here on stage but also outside on the
00:09booths so you really need to go check it out but before then I need to some fun facts we
00:15are expecting over well thousands of attendees here at Viva Tech and many more watching us online as we live
00:23stream on our mobile and internet platforms we will have over
00:29400 speakers on all four stages discussing all kinds of cutting-edge technology shaping a sustainable secure connected and cost
00:40-efficient future it's safe to say the AI world is gathering at Viva Tech Google Mistral Anthropic Amazon and even
00:52our last session today we will have a prominent leader at open AI so please do stay with us until
00:59the end
00:59so just to name a few names so please do remember to download the Viva Tech mobile app to keep
01:08updated with the latest news and the latest program of the day and that way you make sure you're not
01:14missing anything a packed and diverse lineup so let's begin
01:41all right if you were here last year you might remember that we started the session by unveiling a futuristic
01:50car right over there it was called human first or H1 and it promised to revolutionize the way
01:57the way we drive it was all about comfort connectivity data security and physical safety and software
02:07Republic was the dream team behind this effort last year it was composed by six European leaders in the tech
02:16and automotive industry
02:20it's been a busy year they've been all over the world and they've dragged the attention from the media and
02:28events worldwide
02:29a lot has been going on so let's find out what they've been up to
02:34ladies and gentlemen let me welcome the six founding members of Software Republic
02:56the three skinner from Thales Aliette Munier L'Ompré from Orange Business Luca Dumeo of Renault Group Carlo D'Azario
03:08-Biondo of Eviden
03:10Frédéric L'Ompré from St Microelectronics France and Philippe L'Ompré de Dassault Systèmes
03:18welcome
03:20now Patrice and Aliette I would like you I would like to welcome you first to the podium
03:29so as I was mentioning before since your last unveiling of the H1 you've been all over the place
03:35from media events to well the biggest technologies technology events in the world correct Patrice
03:42right the first concept car that we showcased last year has been a great success
03:46we are shown it in Las Vegas for the CS at Barcelona for the world mobile congress and many other
03:53places
03:53but since then we have progressed we are going to unveil a new concept car and which we look at
04:00task just afterwards
04:01and in terms of businesses as well we've made a huge progress with some
04:07during products now coming on the market and you're innovating with something called a power box
04:13what is that and why is it such a breakthrough this is a smart charger that will be cyber secured
04:22of course
04:23that's what we bring Astrales to this to this venture of course we can imagine what could go
04:28wrong in terms of cyber attacks on a power box we would need this power box of tens of thousands
04:37of
04:38power box in France and hopefully in other countries so offering to each and every one of us something which
04:44is cyber secured is extremely important and not only cyber security in the charging stations but you're
04:51trying to offer cyber security across all of the platforms that have to do with vehicles correct
04:57right correct that's another very promising and i would say business case that we have developed
05:02jointly with orange and and and renault and typically you know as we have more and more connected cars
05:10digital cars full of electronics and software clearly and to cyber secure the car itself it's super
05:18important so we are developing a probe a kind of an equipment to monitor the suspicious i would say
05:26behaviors of electronic software in the car and this is the detect part of course and in case something
05:33happen suspicious then there is a connectivity with the cyber security operation center made by orange
05:43to how we said to confirm typically is it a threat or false alarm and then to respond what type
05:49of
05:49actions should be taken for the car for the passenger for the driver all right and aliette you're all about
05:55connectivity at orange business so tell us how you plan to make all of your vehicles connected even though
06:03they are present at very remote locations so indeed orange is about mobile connectivity so we are
06:10connecting the concept cars of the software republic that was just mentioned by patrice we are also a
06:17digital integrator with orange business and what we do is that we for instance we worked with our
06:22partners here on what we call the connections of vehicle to everything connection so eating and technology
06:30it enables to connect the vehicle to all the objects around the vehicle in real time and
06:36to communicate it's very important for instance when dealing with cyclists or scooters on the road for
06:43safety reasons and we also developed a mobile applications which is meant to be in the car in entry-level
06:52cars which are not having the right digital services and for instance you put the mobile application in the car
06:58it records the driver it analyzes the behavior and then you can send a lot to the driver in case
07:05of
07:05drowsiness for instance incredible so it prevents you from falling asleep exactly all right that was very
07:11similar to the human first concept that we had last year so i see that you're incorporating it to your
07:16future
07:16projects as well excellent and what about the maintenance and health of the car how can we ensure
07:23the road safety so we at the moment we are working on a proof of concept together with renault with
07:30ian group and with compredict which is a cars health certificate it leveraged as some technology like
07:39blockchain to make sure that we can provide reliable and also authenticated data about the health of
07:46the car to do predictive maintenance and it also increases the residue there is a residual value of the of
07:52the car
07:52and we work on on beyond the vehicle we also work with local authorities through our affiliate which is called
07:59exadon
08:00and again together with renault we take all the mobility data that we have available and we provide them to
08:07local
08:08authorities so that they can improve their urban planning uh energy consumption or uh services to to
08:15citizens all right well thank you so much aliette and patrice uh i see that you both thales and orange
08:22business are really working hard when it comes to data and physical safety as well as connectivity
08:27i'll invite you to take a seat now these joint efforts have even attracted the interest of a new
08:39partner you might notice there's an empty seat there and uh it's for a reason so this partner is known
08:47for
08:47being the largest outdoor advertising in the world we're talking about jc deco the seventh and the newest member
08:59of software republic please join me at welcoming jean-charle deco to the stage
09:16john charle welcome to the club hi very pleased to be here today with you now what motivated you to
09:25join a software republic first of all i think uh we'd like to thank very much the team at software
09:31republic
09:32and especially luca who has been the driving force behind the software republic i think there is
09:38uh something that we can bring collaboration together to um set up the bar and become uh basically a true
09:47game changer in some of our different fields in the industry that can make a difference all right so talk
09:54to
09:54us about the forward-looking dna that uh just the deco embodies i think we can basically
10:01bring uh some expertise in different fields um we can bring an access to the public authorities
10:08around the world because we work with uh more than basically 4 000 cities around the world 400
10:14transport companies i think we can help the team to bring um products services and further innovation
10:23to uh to the public domain and our job is to change uh the life in cities around the world
10:30so this is something that we all embrace here is to make those changes happen fast and at the best
10:37price
10:38possible yes now you are celebrating your 60th anniversary this year and uh well you you work from you
10:47provide billboards you provide even street furniture again the largest outdoor advertising company in the world
10:54what else can you bring to the table and how can you benefit from software republic is it the low
11:01uh
11:01footprint that you're working on expanding yes i think we can bring um different different things the
11:09first one is um we do products that people use every day 850 million people are using our products all
11:17over the world and uh before some of our colleagues talked about connectivity and those products to
11:22tomorrow will give a lot of a lot of connectivity to um to the citizens and this is something if
11:28we can
11:29put every set in every piece of street furniture around the world the right sensors we can basically
11:35improve the quality of life of people improve their mobility improve the health of people and this is
11:42something we can change life for millions of people and i think that's the beauty of software republic
11:47going faster stronger and higher because of the collaborative approach of our team collaboration
11:55everything that really does does embody the team thank you so much uh jean charles i'll invite you to
12:01take a rest for the moment
12:10luca de mayo from uh renault group is also joining us here welcome luca
12:20so you know one of the big projects that you're working on here
12:24is uh not take not only taking people to a service but actually taking an important service
12:33to you so can you tell us a little bit more about that service that you want to facilitate
12:39i mean we decided as a team of uh this year together that we will engage into the issue of
12:47uh you know
12:50health and especially in the problem of desertification of the health system so
12:57i think that in a matter of 10 years for example in france we've seen a density of that network
13:02going
13:02down 10 percent that means people cannot access to medical services and this is not an issue of only of
13:09rural areas in fact just to give an example for the people that are that live in france the the
13:16biggest
13:16medical desert in france is the 93rd around this month which is basically here okay so it's a serious
13:25problem and uh it's going to become even more complicated in the future for a number of reasons so
13:32together we try to find a solution to compensate for that trend and of course what you can expect from
13:41a
13:42guy like me doing vehicles part of the story it's also that we have developed a kind of a revolutionary
13:49vehicle for that
13:50all right so i'm guessing that you're then offering a new health care to you
13:58vehicle or something like that yeah yeah i will show you later but basically we took as a base a
14:05uh revolutionary uh let's say commercial vehicle that uh we are gonna launch in 2026 uh that will be
14:18built in france and it's basically the first it's a kind of a electric skate uh that fits for the
14:26first
14:26time in the ronal world um you know software defined vehicle so a new centralized electronic architecture
14:31which is upgradable which is hyper connected etc so we thought that this base would be perfect
14:39to actually create a mobile medical center okay that we could send to any area where the people need
14:48so normally we do cars for the people to go elsewhere now we do a car to go to the
14:54people the people are
14:55and where they need us and i have to say that i'm very proud of the software republic experience but
15:02i mean we can do part of the story as renault and we're pushing hard but it would have been
15:07impossible
15:09to do the thing alone so this is for me as a materialization of this cooperation between legendary
15:15companies technology company that can bring into the basket what they're best at and then we can do
15:21something absolutely unique uh i think in the world so you are delivering healthcare basically
15:28through a well-equipped van yeah all right yeah now it is very very very well equipped very very well
15:36equipped it is also important to note that this van is not autonomous you will need somebody to drive it
15:41and somebody to operate it it could be autonomous one day no problem no problem but so far if you
15:47go to
15:47Roland Garros you will see a renault vehicle that is running around the thing so we know how to do
15:51it
15:51all right could be but i don't think it's not needed i mean actually what we need uh because of
15:57the size of
15:58the vehicle you don't need to have a truck driver to to bring the thing you need the normal license
16:03you
16:04need a nurse uh that is there uh that connects maybe with the doctor remotely so that's gives us so
16:12this
16:12thing could could do exactly that kind of service yes for now we will have a medical technician
16:16operating the van and helping you with that sophisticated equipment but talking about
16:21theoretically could also drive the thing right exactly exactly make it more practical so talking
16:25about that equipment i really want our audience to really picture what we're talking about yeah we
16:31go for it let's go for it so last year we used the the name h1 for human first the
16:37name of the new
16:38vehicles is you first everybody understands so maybe i have the pleasure on behalf of the whole team
16:44to show you digitally uh what we have been up to and i invite you then to go to the
16:51stand of the
16:51software republic i think it's a 100 meters away i don't know which kind of direction i don't want to
16:56drive all the audience on the wrong direction but we'll talk about that later let's just get to the vehicle
17:01oh no ladies and gentlemen you first
17:07so
17:17so
30:09Oui, sure.
30:10Avec plaisir, Ryan.
30:11J'ai un cheat-sheet.
30:12Parce qu'il y a plus de 20 médicaux sensors.
30:17Frédéric a déjà dit Gimini.
30:39dans l'U-First Vision,
30:42la next-generation ultrason probe.
30:44Et Thales,
34:03200,000 people, start-up.
35:11Merci.
35:17Donc, avant de revenir à l'audience,
35:19any final words?
35:22Yes, if I can, I would like to point out,
35:26for health, there is the check-up,
35:28it's what you first will do,
35:30and then there is follow the patient in his daily life,
35:33it's what we do.
35:34And we have to think that today,
35:37we are not eating pizza,
35:39pizza is eating us,
35:41are eating our body,
35:42series are eating our spirit,
35:44and we have to learn to reconnect our body and our spirit,
35:47and it's our mission.
35:48Thanks to AI, thanks to measurements at home,
35:51we can do that tomorrow,
35:52and I'm sure that this UFIRST project will help to do that.
35:56Thank you so much.
35:57All right.
35:59You asked a final word,
36:01no, I have one.
36:02I think this is a great example
36:05on how we make Europe strong
36:07and France strong,
36:09by connecting key companies,
36:12large ones,
36:13entrepreneurial ones,
36:15to really,
36:15in this super complex and competitive world,
36:18win the game.
36:20Thank you.
36:21Ten seconds.
36:23I'm going to be pretty short,
36:24is that I see that there are many innovators in the room,
36:26small or big companies,
36:27is that we are all non-exclusive in our relationship,
36:30and it's just a call for innovators.
36:33If you want to be on board,
36:34literally, come and join us.
36:36Thank you.
36:37Come and join them.
36:38Thank you so much.
36:41All right.
36:42Our last speaker of the session is Philippe.
36:47Thank you so much for joining us today.
36:53So, time is running up,
36:55so can you help me conclude with,
36:58you know,
36:59what's the vision at large of UFIRST
37:02by using a virtual twin in a virtual universe?
37:07Yes, I can do that.
37:08that, in fact,
37:10this is the evolution and the revolution,
37:11as you stated at the beginning of what we presented last year,
37:15moving from a vehicle as a product to vehicle as an experience.
37:19The UFIRST vision is a tremendous showcase of virtual worlds for real life.
37:27What Software Republic brings here,
37:29it's at the same time for both business,
37:33but people as well,
37:34the power of real and virtual universes
37:37for ultimately the benefits of consumers,
37:41we are all of that at the same time.
37:45The concept of universe goes well beyond parallel or disconnected world,
37:53which is the meaning of meta in metaverse,
37:55and go well beyond invasive world,
37:59aiming at controlling everything,
38:01which is the meaning of omni in omniverse.
38:04So, clearly, the usage and the experience
38:07are the guiding principle of tomorrow's economy,
38:11shifting away from product only to experience.
38:16Having a good product is not enough anymore to be competitive.
38:19We are in the experience economy.
38:22So, in fact, this reshapes the very definition
38:25and structure of every industry,
38:28and we are meeting a lot of them.
38:30In fact, the UFIRST concept is based on the idea
38:33that the industries, sectors,
38:36like manufacturing industries,
38:38life science and health care,
38:40and infrastructure and cities are coming together.
38:44Mobility is not just moving people from point A to point B.
38:49Mobility is about making services mobile
38:53for better and sustainable quality of life.
38:57So, in fact, I joined Luca to welcome you on stage
39:00on the Software Republic to look at this concept.
39:04You first work like a hub or a next-door service.
39:08As a consumer, I can have bike repair coming to me.
39:11You are all bikers, right?
39:13As a citizen, I can be helped in digital procedures
39:18and bridge the digital chasm.
39:22And as a patient, finally,
39:23I can access my own medical virtual twin.
39:26In fact, in Dassault System,
39:28we provide a virtual twin of the human body.
39:33In fact, as such, with the virtual twin of territories
39:36and rich with real-world health data
39:40from the startup,
39:41open-in-the-room, CanopyMed,
39:43we can pick the right healthcare service
39:46and bring it at the best place to the patient.
39:50And you know what?
39:51Software-defined is what it makes it happen.
39:54So, we have been using data science,
39:57we have been using artificial intelligence
39:59to connect models from science
40:03and data from the real-world experience.
40:08User experience, at the end,
40:09is in a short term,
40:11in a short, closed loop with design
40:14thanks to our universes
40:16and immersive virtual reality.
40:20Dassault System collaborative 3D experience platform
40:22was at the heart of that.
40:24It's on the cloud
40:25and it makes this circular innovation possible.
40:28Thank you so much, Philippe.
40:36So, we have just run out of time,
40:38but before we end,
40:40I really do want to allow
40:41all the members of Software Republic
40:43to give their final words.
40:46And, here's a challenge,
40:48you need to do so in 15 seconds.
40:51All right.
40:51Patrice.
40:5215 seconds?
40:5315 seconds.
40:54Okay, so, number one.
40:56Does it work?
40:56No?
40:5713 seconds.
40:58Okay.
40:5812.
41:00So, number one.
41:02We need a microphone.
41:04A mic?
41:04Or, we need his microphone.
41:06Is it working now?
41:08Is it better?
41:09Okay.
41:10Maybe you can start, Aliette.
41:14A microphone?
41:15Okay.
41:17Thank you so much.
41:20That's collaboration.
41:21Thanks.
41:22So, number one is trust,
41:25as it needs a lot of trust
41:26to come to such,
41:27I would say,
41:28disruptive innovation.
41:29And the second word,
41:30within my 15 minutes,
41:32is a big thanks
41:33to the partners,
41:34to the colleagues,
41:34and to Luca,
41:36for his amazing leadership.
41:37Thank you, Luca.
41:38Nothing would have been possible
41:39without you.
41:4015 seconds.
41:49Thank you.
41:50We dream big
41:51at the Software Republic,
41:52but when you look
41:53at the concept car
41:54we did last year,
41:55that those were
41:5520 world-class innovations,
41:58already four are industrialized,
42:00three additional will come.
42:02So, beyond dreaming big,
42:04we do something
42:04very pragmatic,
42:05very concrete all together.
42:07Excellent.
42:08I think it works.
42:09Mine works.
42:10I would say two things.
42:12One is,
42:14I mean,
42:14we have to discuss that,
42:15but I like to do,
42:16of course,
42:16a vehicle for next year.
42:18and I want to do
42:18a vehicle that flies.
42:20Let's see,
42:21let's see if next year
42:22we make it happen,
42:23right, guys?
42:24We have to discuss
42:25if we can make it,
42:26but that would be my dream.
42:27The second thing
42:28I want to say is,
42:29I'm sure there's a lot
42:30of press into the thing.
42:32You see that you have,
42:33you know,
42:34big companies in the game,
42:35medium-sized company,
42:37you have a lot of startups.
42:39Don't,
42:40to the press,
42:41don't only write about
42:42Renault, Orange, Evident,
42:44I mean,
42:44we are pretty well known.
42:46Write also
42:46about the partners,
42:48the small companies
42:49that have been collaborated.
42:50The system is open,
42:51so you know
42:52what we are doing.
42:53Now we have a little bit
42:55of a tradition
42:55of innovation,
42:56so you're welcome
42:58to come up with ideas.
42:59Thank you.
43:04Well,
43:05use cases
43:06are about simplicity
43:07and simplicity
43:08is about taking complexity
43:09in order to make things
43:10simple for others.
43:11This is what collaboration
43:12can do.
43:13But I also would like
43:14to echo the thank you,
43:15Luca.
43:16without the impulse,
43:18the dynamism
43:19and the desire
43:19to create those collaborations,
43:21we wouldn't be here.
43:21So thank you very much.
43:27I would say
43:28in several points,
43:29it's a valid business model.
43:31It's, in fact,
43:32illustrating,
43:33you said it well,
43:34some of you,
43:34the power of open collaboration
43:36among us.
43:37because it's a new kind
43:38of value network ecosystem
43:40that gathered various players
43:42in different industries,
43:44different sizes.
43:45Also,
43:46it will help
43:48onboard
43:48the workforce
43:50of the future
43:50because we're preparing
43:52the students
43:52for new ways
43:53of working.
43:54And finally,
43:55as I mentioned,
43:55it's a valid business model
43:57and we want to make it
43:58a new standard
43:59for tomorrow's industry
44:01ecosystems
44:02and tractories
44:03of experiences.
44:05Thank you.
44:06Okay.
44:09So,
44:10a few things,
44:11I mean,
44:12definitely,
44:13attractiveness,
44:14I think,
44:14will be my one word.
44:15we need to continue
44:16to attract partners,
44:18to attract new talent.
44:20And really,
44:21I think we have shown
44:22with this concept
44:24that we don't do
44:26only tech for tech,
44:27but we do tech
44:28to support human.
44:31And that's really show
44:32with this concept
44:33that being together,
44:34we can do something
44:36very unique
44:36supporting human
44:39and all our companies
44:42around the table
44:43can really bring solutions
44:46for the challenges
44:47that we have
44:48in our society.
44:50And also,
44:50a big thank you
44:51to all the partners
44:51around the table
44:52and to the next one
44:53who is now new
44:55and we're super happy
44:55to have them.
44:57Thank you.
45:01First of all,
45:02I think we show
45:04through the Software Republic
45:05that Europe can be leading.
45:08Everyone in the Software Republic
45:10is leader in its field.
45:12And I think
45:13there is a great
45:14challenge
45:14is to make Europe better
45:18and through open innovation,
45:21collaborative approach,
45:23incremental research
45:24and disruptive,
45:25basically,
45:26business model,
45:27disruptive business model,
45:29we can make Europe
45:30stronger for a better world.
45:32And I think
45:32in today's world,
45:34there is a challenge
45:35that goes beyond everything,
45:36that Europe can be the leader
45:38for the 21st century,
45:40but we need to do a lot.
45:41and I think
45:42Software Republic
45:43can bring a lot
45:44on innovation
45:45and a lot
45:46on changing
45:47the way Europe
45:48is perceived
45:49around the world.
45:50We can win the game
45:51and this is something
45:53that our regulators
45:54and the politicians
45:56should also look
45:57very carefully
45:57because we at our company
45:59we do it
46:00and at the European level
46:02we have to do it.
46:03We must do it in the future
46:04working with our Chinese friends,
46:07our American friends,
46:07but this is something
46:09that goes beyond again
46:10our continent.
46:12Excellent.
46:13Thank you so much
46:14ladies and gentlemen
46:15the seven musketeers
46:16of Software Republic.
46:19I want to invite you all
46:20before you run away
46:22a family picture
46:23with our three contributors
46:26as well.
46:27We're all going to step
46:28right on that side.
46:30Thank you so much.
46:34Oh, actually
46:35this way.
46:38This way
46:39and
46:41all the way
46:42on the front.
46:50In the meantime
46:51do not move
46:52from your seats
46:53because
46:53the next conversation
46:55is about
46:56to get
46:57heated.
47:13and
47:17the next
47:18will be
47:23Merci.
