00:36I'm very glad to be here to give you a perspective on AI-powered avatars.
00:43I'm Yassine.
00:44I'm the founder of Kinetics, and it's been three years we're working on generative AI on how to bring avatars
00:51to life.
00:52I guess we all grew up with Disney, Pixar movies, and video games, and animation is a very strong and
01:01powerful way to communicate messages.
01:04And as you may have seen in the frenzy of avatars in the past few years, we will expect that
01:15we all have a virtual identity in the virtual world in the future.
01:20So, inherently, as a human, we exchange a lot of emotes and emoticons in our messages, in our social media.
01:30And it started with a very basic form of messages, as you can see in the screen.
01:35It evolved to emotes and then emojis.
01:38And we believe that the future of expression in virtual worlds will be through our other avatars.
01:46And actually, there is a convergence between our identity in social media and our identity in the virtual worlds.
01:55What we observe, for example, I don't know if you noticed, but in WhatsApp, in Instagram, you can react today
02:01with your avatars.
02:02So, the identity that you're creating will be used in these social media platforms, and you will be able also
02:10to use this avatar in Horizon.
02:12So, there is a convergence between social media and 3D virtual worlds that can be games or metaverse platforms.
02:19At Kinetix, we want to enable everyone to customize these avatars and these emotes.
02:30We enable anyone with AI to be able to create any kind of emotes that you want.
02:35Before that, doing 3D animation was very complex.
02:39So, you need motion capture devices, so you'll have to put a lot of sensors in your body to capture
02:46that in a very costly studios.
02:49Or, you can create manually animation.
02:52And you have to be an expert with a few years of training to be able to create animations.
02:59What we do at Kinetix is enable anyone to do that with a simple video.
03:03So, only with your phone, you'll be able to capture any emotes and put it in your avatar in any
03:10kind of virtual worlds.
03:11We built that with a team of about 40 engineers.
03:15We have a big team of AI and engineers.
03:17We raised last year with the former AI director of Google and some of the biggest virtual worlds,
03:23like Sandbox, Zepeto, and other games and virtual worlds.
03:27And let me show you a video that will showcase what we have been building and how emotes bring different
03:38characters to life.
03:39So, this is Sam, our emotes.
03:42So, this is just like the movement.
03:44And this movement can bring to life any kind of avatar.
03:48So, it can be a realistic avatar.
03:50It can be an avatar like in Minecraft or in Sandbox or even metahumans of Unreal Engine avatars.
03:58So, our animations are compatible with any kind of platform.
04:04And once you create one of your emotes, you can use it in any kind of platform.
04:09So, we're also working on the idea that in the future, your virtual assets that you create and that you
04:15own in Web 2 or in Web 3,
04:19you'll be able to use them across different virtual worlds.
04:23And we're building the technology to enable that.
04:27So, as you can see in the screen, you can dance, you can move, you can celebrate in front of
04:34a single camera.
04:35Or you can also use content from YouTube, TikTok, and we're able to transform these moves into animation that can
04:45be translated in any 3D space and a 3D virtual world.
04:50We also work with different artists, with creators, to capture their movements and stream them into multiple games.
04:58As you know, in Fortnite, many moves are already sold.
05:03It's called Emotes and it's already, just in Fortnite, half a billion yearly industry of emotes that are being sold
05:10in these games.
05:11It's a big market and an increasingly growing market because everyone wants to customize,
05:17and especially the Gen Z, wants to customize their identity in these virtual spaces.
05:23Roblox, for example, has more than 50 million daily users.
05:27And 40% of these users change every day the way they're dressed in these platforms.
05:34So today, the kids that are using these platforms are going to school and they change clothes,
05:39but they're also playing these games and then change clothes.
05:41And today, they're very limited in the way they express themselves.
05:45There is basic movements in the game that are hard-coded.
05:48We are bringing the next generation of expression, of interactivity,
05:54because we believe that everyone can be their true self.
05:57We all have our way of expressing ourselves.
06:01Obviously, I'm Moroccan, so I move a lot of my hands when I speak.
06:04In different cultures, we express ourselves differently.
06:07So we want to bring the technology so that everyone can express themselves
06:11and be their true self within these virtual worlds.
06:15So what we do, and our go-to market,
06:19was to bring these technologies directly into the games.
06:22So we bring the technologies through our SDKs
06:25to integrate our AI into these platforms
06:29so that any user, and maybe some of you here are users of different virtual worlds,
06:35you'll be able to directly, in these spaces, create your emotes
06:39and play them and interact with them with other users.
06:42There are multiple use cases.
06:44It can be, for example, in a virtual concert,
06:47so you have your favorite artist,
06:49and you're able to move and vibe with your favorite artist.
06:52It can be in a battle royale kind of games
06:56when you need to communicate with your teammates,
06:59so you can have your own distinguished signs of collaboration.
07:05but it can be also used in use cases for professional meetings in virtual worlds
07:11where you'll be able to explain and use emotes to express yourself.
07:14So today, you create your emote and you find it in the game,
07:17but we're also working in real-time animation.
07:20So in the next few years, you'll be able to put your camera and, in real-time, exchange as a
07:273D avatar in real-time with your teammates,
07:31with your colleagues, directly in the 3D space.
07:36As I was saying before, emotes are already used a lot in games, but the offer is limited,
07:43meaning that today, most of the games have 3 or 4 emotes that you can use.
07:47We're bringing more diversity and customization to the users so that they can create their very own emotes.
07:54And it's also a very big monetization source for the games.
08:00So today, in-app purchase in the gaming industry is slowly becoming the most used form of monetization.
08:10So we're moving from the traditional advertising to in-game purchase.
08:14And we believe people will be buying more and more assets.
08:17It can be closed, as we've seen previously, but emotes are another raising category.
08:24As we've seen in the past few most, some big players like Roblox are announcing their own tools to create
08:33from video to animation.
08:35But we're also working on a new form of creation.
08:37So we released very recently text to emotes.
08:42So you can write a prompt, like, I want my avatar to jump and dance in XY style.
08:48And then your avatar will perform that in the virtual worlds.
08:52It can also be used in other use cases to create animation movies, to create video content.
08:58But we are pretty much focused on the gaming for the moment.
09:01But our APIs can be used in many other industries.

10:25So for the moment, our emotes are compatible with this platform.
10:29So you can create an emote and theoretically, it's working with all their avatars.
10:35But we're currently integrating with these platforms because most of these platforms are closed.
10:40You cannot import your content as a user.
10:42In Roblox, you can as a creator, but not as a gamer.
10:45We are creating the bridge with our SDK.
10:49So any user that creates a content on Kinetics will be able to use it in Sandbox and Zepeto in
10:55the future, which are two of the biggest virtual worlds that also invested in Kinetics as strategic investors.

11:07So it can be Web 2 or Web 3.
