Series2 Part 2 — Gaslighting Doesn’t Feel Like Lying
Gaslighting doesn’t usually feel like someone lying to you.
It feels like confusion.
As a child, you may have felt unsure of your own memories…
like you remembered something wrong,
even when you were certain before.
You might have felt guilty just for asking questions.
Or like your feelings were somehow “too much,”
too sensitive, too dramatic, too emotional.
Over time, that confusion can make you trust yourself less
and depend on others to tell you what’s real.
But that wasn’t weakness.
That was information being distorted around you.
Children don’t question reality
unless something keeps shifting underneath them.
If you felt confused back then,
it doesn’t mean you misunderstood.
It may mean you were trying to make sense
of something that didn’t make sense.
Next — Part 3:
The First Safe Question.
Because sometimes clarity begins
with one simple, healthy question.
