00:06we're cutting across to the first images coming in of Prime Minister Modi at the AI impact summit
00:12in the Bharat Mantapami in the national capital those pictures on your screens there of the Prime
00:17Minister entering and interacting with all of those who are present in the summit there of
00:25all the stalls that are there this is the Prime Minister making his way through and also in a sense
00:31getting a trial of what several of these entrepreneurs have to offer now Prime Minister
00:38Modi has repeatedly highlighted what really the AI revolution means for India and how he wants
00:45India to be an engine of sorts for this change which is why he's also putting the focus on this
00:51AI impact summit you can see some of the trials taking place before the Prime Minister demonstrations
00:59of what they've actually pulled off using the help of artificial intelligence this is an event that
01:05Prime Minister Modi's put great focus on which is why you've also seen world leaders being brought
01:12together the biggest tech leaders from across the world all coming together assembling on this one
01:17platform at the world AI impact summit in Bharat Mantapam of the national capital
01:28and as we continue to get you these images of the Prime Minister moving from stall to stall for each
01:33of these entrepreneurs who are present this is a huge moment they're not just getting a chance to pitch
01:39to the government what they are doing but they're also pitching to the world essentially because like
01:44I said with the biggest tech leaders coming together at this event it opens up a whole avenue of
01:49opportunities of possibilities for these young entrepreneurs of so many of these groups who are
01:56trying to innovate using the help of artificial intelligence with the AI impact summit kicking off
02:02today it's going to be in fact open over the next few days you're going to be seeing dignitaries streaming
02:07in one after another particularly on the 18th which is Wednesday which is when you'll see
02:12the likes of the French president the Brazilian president you'll also have the likes of Bill
02:17Gates and several others visiting the Bharat Mantapam for this particular summit but these are
02:23images on your screens from just moments ago of the Prime Minister moving from one pavilion to another
02:30in Bharat Mantapam getting a sense of the kind of innovation that Indians have managed to achieve using
02:37artificial intelligence you see very clearly on most of these stalls the messaging is about solutions which is what the
02:45Prime Minister has also put the focus on in fact just about yesterday when he did an interaction with the
02:50press
02:51trust of India Prime Minister Modi also spoke about reforms and about artificial intelligence playing such a big role
02:58in that in the growth of this country and in ensuring that adequate reforms are brought in in fact in
03:04a very
03:05candid moment in that particular interview he also says that while we've achieved so much I'm never someone who's ever
03:11fully
03:11fully satisfied and that's why you're seeing again a push there by the Prime Minister to get as many people
03:18on board on one stage one platform
03:21to get opportunities to India India of course with its massive resources can also step up and ensure that as
03:31far as the AI revolution goes we lead from the front and so while you've seen a whole lot of
03:36talk dialogue really about whether India
03:39India is really is really right up there in the AI revolution we're taking steps in that effort opportunities yes
03:46but there is also a need which will happen over the next few days
03:49on the challenges that we've been seeing in bringing in and kind of molding AI into our daily lives there
03:57is of course that big question about what that means when you bring in artificial intelligence
04:00does that does that mean challenges in also bringing and affecting human resources human capital that's one of those issues
04:09that will be addressed but you see the Prime Minister
04:11right now speaking to Sunil Bharti Mittal also and there in the Airtel stall which is why you see some
04:17of these big business honchos also present and this is interesting to say the least you know you see young
04:23entrepreneurs you see young entrepreneurs you see the likes of some of the biggest business honchos all together on one
04:28stage in one area all getting the same opportunity the same platform of meeting the Prime Minister pitching their ideas
04:36showing what they've been able to do
04:39another AI platform of course is Sarvam AI and you see the Prime Minister there at that particular stall because
04:46you know while you hear of artificial intelligence and every one of us uses it one way or another in
04:53our lives largely almost to the format of open AI I'm referring to chat GPT of course or on your
04:58WhatsApp there's so much more that artificial intelligence can bring to the table which is something that's unexplored in India
05:05as well we're seeing companies making that
05:07effort we're seeing companies also stepping into this arena trying to do their bid revolutionize how India works and for
05:15the government to step into that for the government to play a role in that is also crucial as you
05:22can see there on your screens the Prime Minister continuing to meet with all of the leaders in artificial intelligence
05:31it's no longer the future it's the present and that's what the government is constantly stressing on as well with
05:36these kind of
05:37initiatives initiatives they've gone all out to ensure that this event is success that it sees some of the biggest
05:44voices from across the world coming together and the messaging here is very important it's about not just us housing
05:52or being in fact the base of this kind of an event but also ensuring that from there we take
05:59off and ensure these ideas take off to kick off a revolution of sorts in India where artificial intelligence
06:06intelligence is the base where artificial intelligence becomes how India functions also in a way seamlessly
06:13Aishwarya Paliwal is joining us with more details on this Aishwarya images on our screens of Prime Minister Modi interacting
06:19with so many entrepreneurs so many business honchos which is great to see because you know this is one platform
06:25that gives so many opportunities to these groups
06:30Well you know Aishwarya this is something that the government has been planning for for at least the past one
06:35year you know the last AI summit took place in Paris in 2025 and that is when Prime Minister Modi
06:41had made up his mind that this is something that we will see being done in India also let me
06:46tell you from the 16 that is today till the 20th we will see you know growth opportunities coming in
06:51the government is very very clear that it is India which now is ready to make sure that it takes
06:56all the world when we speak
06:58about AI and the way in which the world needs to come together that is also something that the government
07:03has been focusing on over the past few years the government believes that this is the right time for India
07:08to tell the world where it stands and let me tell you one of the things that we will see
07:12happening on the 19th is when the French president also will be speaking with Prime Minister Narendra Modi both of
07:18them will be here in the pavilion both of them will be speaking about AI
07:22Aishwarya and AI and AI and AI and AI and AI and AI and AI and AI and AI señor
07:24Let me tell you that it is something that now has been the focus point for the government you know
07:29Bakitjitha we will see the French president also
07:33which is aimed and we will see both of them speaking about how collaboration can happen
07:39between both the countries with regards to AI in healthcare and the largest pavilion here also
07:44is with regard to that because that is something that we will see both of them speaking about.
07:50What does India do in terms of healthcare and how will we infuse healthcare along with AI?
07:57That is also something that will be the focus coming together.
08:00We will see the Prime Minister also speaking in just a couple of minutes.
08:04From now, Prime Minister Modi will be focusing on how India has actually arrived.
08:08The focus at the moment is to make sure that the world understands the importance of AI
08:15and also the safeguarding of AI.
08:18That is something that the world very clearly needs to look at.
08:21Akshita.
08:22To also focus on Aishwarya, what makes this event so huge?
08:25You know, this isn't something we have ever seen in India,
08:28but even globally, this is a massive headline-grabbing event
08:32simply because of the kind of dignitaries lined up by the government for the event.
08:36You know, I'm talking about world leaders.
08:38You mentioned Emmanuel Macron, the Brazilian President,
08:41Ola de Souza, De Silva, I beg your pardon, will be there.
08:44You will have the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
08:47You have Pedro Sanchez, the Spanish President, also in attendance.
08:51So many global dignitaries combined with tech leaders, which is what makes this event so unique.
08:57And I actually say, Aishwarya, that this isn't one of a kind for India.
09:01It's actually one of a kind in the world.
09:06Well, definitely, you know, the government has been focusing on,
09:11not just now, but over the past many years, the government's focus has been AI.
09:14In fact, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, even when he's been speaking with certain ministers,
09:19has been focusing on the importance of AI.
09:21The government believes that data is the new gold.
09:23And very often, Aksheda, this is something that we have even seen,
09:26how it is technology which is now helping the nations.
09:30The government also, time and again, has been focusing on and has been saying
09:34that we now need to make that leap.
09:36We now need to move from being a developing nation to being a developed nation.
09:40One of the core things that we will see happening is the AI and the technology.
09:45On the back of technology, we need to do that.
09:47And how we can infuse technology, not just in one sphere, but in different spheres.
09:52You know, Aksheda, I was just walking around,
09:54and one of the things that we have seen over the past few days
09:57is the fact that healthcare is something that we have seen AI look very strongly at.
10:03In fact, let me tell you, there are robotics also here in a lot of places
10:07where we can see the surgery is happening with the use of AI.
10:11So that is something that the government is very keenly looking at
10:14and how the world can actually come to...
10:16You've seen the kind of setup there, but tell me something.
10:19You know, of all the stalls that you've seen,
10:21which is the one that impressed you the most,
10:22what's the most unique or interesting innovation using AI that you saw?
10:31Well, the operation, Aksheda, let me tell you,
10:33that was being done using AI because the precision is stunning.
10:37You know, it just blows your mind the way in which, you know,
10:40we all saw how there was an operation theater
10:43and the precision with which the surgery was being done.
10:46This is something that the government has been focusing on.
10:49And you must have seen, Aksheda, how over the past many budgets,
10:51the government has, in fact, been increasing the spending on AI and on technology.
10:56So that is something that the government's focus point is.
10:59And this is an event that Prime Minister Modi,
11:01in fact, let me tell you, his entire team,
11:03all of them were very keenly looking at over the past one year
11:06because the last AI summit that happened in Paris in 2025,
11:09that actually was a huge success.
11:12The world came together.
11:13And we have seen these kind of summits happening earlier also.
11:16One of them happened in Abu Dhabi.
11:18And the idea is to make sure that the world understands
11:21what's exactly happening.
11:23Exchange of technologies, Aksheda, let me tell you,
11:25that is also something that is very clearly been the agenda
11:28and the focus of the government.
11:29We will see a lot of MOUs also being signed.
11:32And the top leadership with regards to AI also now is in India.
11:37The idea is very, very clear.
11:38We all need to march together.
11:40And we all need to make sure that there are safeguards
11:42that are being put in place.
11:43And that is something from what I understand
11:45Prime Minister Modi will also be touching upon.
11:48He will be touching upon the fact that we all need to make those strides
11:51with regards to technology.
11:52But we also need to safeguard data.
11:55That is something that has been the core focus of the government
11:58over the past many days.
11:59There's always been a whole lot of talk in India.
12:02And it's been a healthy discourse, of course,
12:04about whether India has actually done enough.
12:07At a time of AI revolution, was India kind of lagging behind,
12:10were other countries leading from the front
12:12with startups that focused more on artificial intelligence?
12:15We're there now.
12:17You know, the AI revolution that everyone's been talking about,
12:19India is there.
12:20We're catching up, yes.
12:22But we're doing it at an extremely fast pace.
12:24And the government's role in that is extremely crucial as well
12:27in providing that necessary support,
12:29which is what Aishwarya's event like this does.
12:31You know, when you put up these stalls in a Bharat Mantapam,
12:34you get a chance to present to the Prime Minister.
12:37That's the world's eyes on you.
12:38That opens up literally a world of opportunities
12:41for so many of these companies.
12:43And that's what stands out for me.
12:44You know, you see these massive companies
12:46with the likes of Sunil Bharti Mittal
12:47speaking to the Prime Minister.
12:49And then you have these smaller startups also
12:51getting a chance to pitch to the Prime Minister.
12:53And that's such a unique platform, you know,
12:55for so many of these companies
12:57that would have perhaps felt completely ignored
13:00right up until now.
13:01And now they know the government is listening,
13:03that the world is listening.
13:08Well, definitely, you know,
13:09the other thing that we will see
13:11after the end of this summit
13:14is the fact that a lot of startups,
13:15and that's something that the government
13:16has been focusing on.
13:18The government actually understands
13:19that there are many, many startups,
13:20especially with regards to AI.
13:22They will also get a push.
13:24The government, in fact,
13:25Akshita, has been pushing the private sector,
13:28has been pushing the smaller players
13:29to make sure that they have a competitive edge.
13:32And how do you understand
13:33what's happening in the world
13:34when these kind of pavilions
13:35are set up in India?
13:36So that exchange of technology,
13:38obviously, is now taking place.
13:39But Indian startups are also understanding
13:41what's happening,
13:42not just in India,
13:43not just in Asia,
13:44but across the world,
13:45what's happening globally.
13:47So the players in India will understand that,
13:50and that, in fact,
13:51will help them in making sure
13:52that their products are at par.
13:55In tandem, we will also see the top heads,
13:58the top CEOs,
13:59all of them speaking about the fact
14:00that safeguarding of data,
14:02that is also something
14:03that needs to be done.
14:04See, we all understand that
14:05when we speak about India,
14:06the government has been very, very clear
14:08the use of AI pictures,
14:10the use of data,
14:12and also the misuse, rather,
14:13that we have seen happening
14:14over the past few days.
14:16Akshita, if you remember,
14:17a lot of women MPs, in fact,
14:18have been raising this issue.
14:20They have been speaking about the fact
14:21that Grok and AI,
14:23all of them are now being used,
14:24and some videos and pictures
14:26have started doing rounds.
14:27So that is also something
14:28that the government now needs to focus on.
14:30What can be done,
14:31not just in India,
14:32but globally,
14:33that will be the focus point
14:34when we will see the interactions
14:35of the top leadership take place.
14:37No, you're right.
14:37You know, regulation, challenges,
14:39all of that will also come up
14:40in the conversations,
14:42hopefully,
14:43that we see spanned
14:43over the next few days
14:44at the AI Impact Summit.
14:47But, you know,
14:47the Prime Minister,
14:48while speaking about AI,
14:51which I say doesn't just stand
14:52for artificial intelligence,
14:53it's linked so closely
14:55to India's growth,
14:56that you could say AI stands
14:57for Atmanirbarh India,
14:59that you could say AI stands
15:00for accelerating India, right?
15:03So you get that connect
15:04where essentially even intrinsic
15:06to the India story
15:07is the right use
15:08of artificial intelligence.
15:10Many countries have done it.
15:11They've seamlessly ensured
15:13that AI is kind of
15:13plugged into their systems.
15:15For India, to some extent,
15:17it's happened,
15:17but a lot more can be done.
15:19And with such a large population,
15:20AI can do wonders
15:22and transformation
15:23in innovation,
15:24in ease of living,
15:26ensuring better standards
15:27of living,
15:28so much that AI
15:28can actually contribute to.
15:30And yes,
15:31when you talk of challenges,
15:32there is that one challenge
15:33that everyone's questioning
15:34about whether it takes away,
15:36you know,
15:37opportunities
15:37from youngsters,
15:39from the youth.
15:42Contradict that
15:43with what the Prime Minister
15:45said, Aishwarya,
15:46which is that he said
15:47that, you know,
15:48artificial intelligence
15:49is something that creates
15:50opportunities for youngsters.
15:52So the government
15:53and the Prime Minister
15:53are making it very clear
15:54that rather than looking at it
15:56as something that steals your jobs,
15:57that could be a threat to you,
15:59embrace it.
16:04Well, you know,
16:05embracing is something
16:06that Prime Minister Modi
16:07and the top leadership
16:07of the BJP,
16:08they have been focusing on,
16:10they believe,
16:11at the moment,
16:11what we all need to do
16:13is to make sure
16:14that we look at opportunities,
16:15but opportunities
16:16that do not harm the citizens,
16:18opportunities that do not
16:19lead to those kind of
16:20morphed videos
16:21and pictures
16:22that we have seen.
16:23A lot of them,
16:24in fact,
16:24you know,
16:24a lot of them doing ground.
16:25And this is something
16:27which not just
16:27the Indian government
16:28at the moment,
16:29Akshwarya is looking at,
16:30but we are seeing
16:30how the governments worldwide
16:32are also now grappling
16:33with this issue.
16:34They are also looking
16:35at making sure
16:36that there are some kind
16:37of barricades
16:38that have been put,
16:39some kind of global rules
16:40that are now being
16:41brought into force
16:42and that's the reason
16:43why the CEOs
16:44of the top tech companies,
16:45they are the ones
16:46who then come into the picture.
16:48The government now
16:49will be speaking with them
16:50and this is something
16:51that the world largely
16:52is looking at,
16:53a global framework of sorts
16:55that India,
16:56let me tell you,
16:56is leading on this point.
16:58Prime Minister Modi,
16:59time and again,
16:59not just in India,
17:00but at various other places
17:01has spoken about the fact
17:02that yes,
17:03technology is our friend,
17:04but we also need
17:05to very closely look
17:06at what's happening
17:08and the kind of harmful
17:09impact that has had.
17:10Let me also tell you,
17:11Akshwarya,
17:11something that the government
17:12at the moment
17:13is looking at.
17:13You would have seen
17:14how young children,
17:1610 years,
17:1612 years old,
17:17all of them
17:17have phones in their hands
17:19and need to make sure
17:20that they are safe,
17:21their data is protected,
17:22their pictures are safe.
17:23That is also something
17:24that will be the focus point
17:25in the global AI summit
17:27that we are seeing
17:28taking place here
17:28in the national capital.
17:30Pakshita.
17:30And as Akshwarya
17:31gets us those updates,
17:33I'll go across
17:34to your namesake,
17:35Akshwarya Patil
17:36of Business Today,
17:37who's joining us
17:38on this broadcast.
17:39She's joining us
17:39live from
17:40the Bharat Mantapam,
17:41which is where
17:42the AI Impact Summit
17:43has kicked off.
17:45Akshwarya,
17:46I started off
17:46by asking
17:47Akshwarya Paliwal
17:49about what her experience
17:51was like inside
17:52Bharat Mantapam,
17:53which was the stall
17:54that excited her the most,
17:55what was the most
17:56innovation she saw.
17:57So I'd love to know
17:58from you, Akshwarya,
17:58what did you think?
18:01Right.
18:02As far as today's,
18:04today was the first day,
18:06of course,
18:06and Prime Minister Modi
18:07was set to arrive
18:09at 5 p.m.
18:11So as you can see,
18:12the visuals,
18:12he's already going
18:13through some of the exhibits
18:14there.
18:16All the big tech companies,
18:18including Google,
18:19Microsoft,
18:20Meta,
18:21all of them
18:21have set up
18:22their exhibits,
18:23but they will be open
18:24to the public
18:24only after tomorrow
18:27because it's only
18:28been inaugurated
18:29by the Prime Minister
18:30this evening.
18:32And as Minister
18:35Ashwini Vaishnav
18:35in the past
18:36had said,
18:37the AI ecosystem
18:38in India
18:39will attract
18:40more than $70 billion
18:42so as to
18:44develop our compute
18:45and all sorts
18:47of indigenous
18:48AI technology.
18:50So, so far,
18:51that's been the update.
18:52We saw this morning
18:53the bigwigs
18:54of the tech giants.
18:57Of course,
18:58Google's
18:58Sundar Pichai
18:59will be attending.
19:01He's also holding,
19:02Google is also holding
19:04a summit
19:04on the 18th
19:05the day after.
19:06So, we'll be getting
19:07you all the updates
19:08from there.
19:09And we saw
19:10some of the ministers
