00:30This will be the third round of trilateral consultations this year
00:33after two US brokered meetings in Abu Dhabi failed to produce a breakthrough.
00:38Russia continues to press for major territorial concessions
00:41including Ukrainian withdrawal from parts of the Donetsk region still under Kiev's control.
00:47The two sides remain far apart on other key issues as well
00:50including the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and the role of any Western troops in post-war Ukraine.
