00:00But the Patriots have elevated Terrell Williams in order to open up their defensive coordinator position,
00:06which is exactly to hire Zach Corr, in my opinion.
00:08And it's specifically because now they saw Zach Corr's potential.
00:12He was excellent as a play caller this year, and they don't want to lose that.
00:17You can't afford to lose that, I think, at this point, especially with how well your defense was the best
00:23part of your team
00:24the entire playoff run and into the Super Bowl.
00:26I don't think that's a question.
00:27I think we can all very much agree on that.
00:29In a large part because Zach Corr was really good at calling the defensive plays.
00:33And with that, though, I also think that this is—it's not like a slight to Terrell Williams or anything like
00:42that.
00:42They're glad he's back.
00:44They want him still around.
00:45That's why he's staying in the organization, and they're simply elevating him.
00:47But it's the right thing to do to reward Zach Corr because he earned it.
00:51He deserves it.
00:52He is one of these young, upcoming kind of defensive minds that maybe we don't necessarily have a ton of
01:00in the NFL but seem to be coming in vogue.
01:03You look at Mike McDonald.
01:05You look at Chris Shula out with the Rams.
01:07Guys like that, the younger defensive minds.
01:09Jesse Minter got hired by the Ravens.
01:11He's starting to kind of rise up the ranks a little bit to challenge some of these crazy good offensive
01:16minds.
01:17So I really like that for the Patriots.
01:19I think it was the right decision.
01:20I'm glad Terrell is staying around with the organization.
01:23But promoting Zach Corr will be the right decision.
01:25I'm not bringing this up to say anything but positive things.
01:27This isn't like a coded statement.
01:30Look at all the coaches that are being hired.
01:33Look at the defensive importance in the NFL now and the fact that the guy that has the greatest game
01:38plans in the history of the NFL didn't even get an interview.
01:42You know what I mean?
01:44Jesse Minter over Bill Belichick?
01:47Right.
01:47It's insanity.
01:48It is.
01:49I'm telling you, the league is like Bill lost his fastball.
01:54But Jesse Minter has never had a fastball.
01:56Yeah, but Jesse Minter, he was good when he was in Michigan.
02:00When they were cheating.
02:02I mean, listen, he was good.
02:04He was good when they were in Michigan.
02:05They were good, yep.
02:05And then he went to, what was he with the Ravens?
02:09The Ravens?
02:10Or no, was it the Chargers with Jim Harbaugh?
02:11The Chargers or something like that?
02:13Yeah.
02:13Oh, he was at the Ravens and then went to the Chargers because I forget, like, the brother took him
02:17over there.
02:18So, you know, he's been good.
02:19Like, I think that the league looks at Bill Belichick.
02:22And when I see the league, the owners go, he's 73 years old.
02:26Yeah.
02:27I just think, in general, they're going away from old coaches.
02:30I think the younger coaches can relate to this generation of players and the old guys can't.
02:37And they last longer, Greg.
02:38If they're good, you can keep them around forever.
02:41Yeah, yeah.
02:42The continuity is important.
02:43This defense was really, really good this season.
02:46Yes.
02:46How much of the credit, when it comes to that, do you give to Mike Vrabel?
02:51I give him some.
02:52Just some.
02:53Yeah.
02:54I mean, he gets a good portion just because the week-to-week game planning, I think, is, in large
02:59part, Mike Vrabel.
03:00But I also think that, you know, on a down-to-down basis, Zach Gore is calling the plays just
03:04like Josh McDaniels gets credit for a good offensive game plan.
03:07So does Zach Gore.
03:08Yeah.
03:08And I think Zach Gore, the timing in which he was blitzing, I think, is mostly him.
03:13And I think that was kind of the thing you saw really excel in the playoffs.
03:17Okay.
03:18Chime, thank you.
03:19Curtis, good morning.
