00:05closed. Voters who are still in the line at the cutoff time will still be allowed to cast their
00:11ballots. Throughout the day, many voters described the process as smooth and orderly. However,
00:17others reported challenges, including discovering their names were not on the voters list,
00:22are being assigned to different polling locations, issues that cause some delays and frustration for
00:28some. After the last vote is cast, ballot boxes will be transported under security to counting
00:34centres across the island, where ballots will be tallied through the night. For the first time in
00:40the country's electoral history, CARICOM and Commonwealth observers are monitoring the process.
00:46The race sees Prime Minister Mia Moore Motley's Barbados Labour Party seeking a third consecutive
00:51term. Challenged by Ralph Thorne's Democratic Labour Party and several smaller parties aiming to gain
00:58grown under the first-past-the-full system. Sixteen seats are required to form the next government
01:03and results are expected constituency by constituency in a matter of hours.
