00:30At least 17 African countries have experienced a rampant spread of EMPOCs from September 14 to October 29.
00:45Hello, welcome to From the South. I'm Sophie Fernandes from the Telesur Studios in Havana, Cuba. We begin with the news.
00:52The Cuban government condemned the United States' plans to destabilize the Caribbean islands' economy.
00:57Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez stated on his social media,
01:01The U.S. government organizes finances and directly executes a comprehensive destabilization program as part of its economic war against Cuba,
01:10using operators of Cuban origin based in the United States and other countries.
01:15Their mission is to lower the income level of the peoples through the speculative manipulation of the exchange rate,
01:21which directly affects price increases, the spread of intimidating and alarmist messages on social media,
01:28and the alteration of the natural behavior of the market.
01:31The effect is severe damage to the income of every Cuban and additional obstacles to macroeconomic stabilization programs.
01:38Moving to Venezuela, popular assemblies are on the way to select community projects in preparation for a fourth popular consultation on November 23.
01:53This Saturday and Sunday, communities throughout the country will submit projects to be later put to a vote at a popular consultation.
02:01The winning projects will be part of the works to be carried out by each organized community to improve their quality of life.
02:08These popular consultations reaffirm the participatory and protagonist nature of democracy in Venezuela.
02:14While the assemblies are taking place working continuous on construction projects approved in previous consultations.
02:26Meanwhile, several Venezuelan states are also hosting assemblies for people to present projects for the upcoming popular consultation.
02:33In several municipalities, parishes and towns across Venezuela, citizens are proposing solutions for their communities need to improve on whatever aspects of their lives.
02:43The states of Miranda, La Guayra, Aragua, among others, are hosting such assemblies so that the residents can put forward proposals to improve their social well-being and territorial integrity in Venezuela.
02:56Venezuelan youth are also participating in popular assemblies to propose community projects that will be voted on the November 23rd popular consultation.
03:10These assemblies are part of a participatory democratic process to diagnose and prioritize the needs of their communities, seeking to strengthen the role of young people in decision-making.
03:20This sector presents the studies of their communities, proposing projects focused on sports, recreation, health and communication.
03:27This walk is precisely to inform our neighbors that on November 23rd we will have a consultation that will not be on closed topic.
03:43It will be a consultation for young people, it will not be a consultation on a specific issue, rather, it will be an open consultation so that people can openly propose what projects we need for the community.
03:58For the community and for our young people, it is a source of pride the projects are not for oneself but for the young people, leaving an ever greater mark with our president Nicolas Maduro since this task was given to us by our commander Chávez.
04:08In other news, the Venezuelan government requested the Supreme Court of Justice Friday to revoke the citizenship of our right-wing leader John Goicochea.
04:20In a statement, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Justice and Peace said that the request response to Goicochea called for a foreign military invasion against Venezuela and the occupation of its territory.
04:31The Foreign Ministry and the Administrative Service for Identification, Migration and Foreigners will proceed to eliminate all documentation that identifies the far-right activists as Venezuelan.
04:42Goicochea is accused of persecuting and exterminating officials of the various security forces of the National Armed Forces, as well as carrying out the mass murders of Venezuelans.
04:52U.S. President Donald Trump denied allegations of an imminent attack on Venezuela, which had been published by some U.S. media outlets.
05:07After some U.S. outlets reported on alleged military preparations against the Latin American state, Trump stated that he was not considering attacks on Venezuela.
05:17The statements to the press were made on board the Air Force One. Following the question, we sought to confirm the rumors.
05:24In addition, the White House spokesperson, Anna Kelly, stated to the press that the unnamed sources didn't know what they were talking about, discrediting the outlets which had published the alleged presidential decision.
05:36For its part, Venezuela insists that the constant threats are part of the psychological war wage on the country as a form of pressure.
05:43Regarding these publications, the same Secretary of State of the United States, Marco Rubio, referred to them, saying,
05:56Your sources, who claim to have knowledge of the situation, deceive you to write a false story.
