00:00There are not a lot of choices in the really large luxury SUV segment, but today I bring
00:10you one of my favorites, the Lincoln Navigator L Reserve 4x4.
00:19The L designation means it's longer than the regular version, which adds a lot of cargo
00:24behind the third row seat.
00:27Pop open that big long hood and you'll find a 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo EcoBoost engine that
00:33is putting out a very strong 440 horses and is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
00:40My Flight Blue review vehicle is a four-wheel drive, but you can get it in a two-wheel drive
00:45version as well.
00:46As beautiful as the exterior of the Navigator is when you open the door to get inside this
00:51vehicle, you're overwhelmed for a moment.
00:54The sandstone interior is beautiful, with attractive stitching along the large dash.
01:01Push the start button and the Navigator comes to life with a configurable 12-inch screen that
01:06doubles as a driver information center.
01:08In between the two front seats is an incredibly large center console.
01:13It doesn't actually attach to the dash itself.
01:16Here's where you'll find USB ports, 12-volt charging ports, and a smartphone charger.
01:22There is also storage underneath the center console.
01:25Above that is a 13.2-inch display that runs the audio system, sync for voice-activated navigation
01:32system, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth systems, apps and settings.
01:36It's also where you find the phenomenal 360-degree front and rear cameras.
01:42You can also choose from six different drive modes and turn off the start-stop system.
01:48Then there are the perfect position seats.
01:51You can adjust them 30 different ways, including the cushion extenders that allow you to raise
01:56your left or right leg to different heights for comfort.
02:00If you have back issues, this is the SUV for you.
02:04Both front seats will give you a massage.
02:07As you would expect, the Navigator Reserve comes with a lot of standard equipment.
02:12Most notable is a hands-free power liftgate, heated and cooled front seats, power deployable
02:17running boards, remote start, second row heated and cooled massaging captain's chairs,
02:23third row power recliner and power fold flat seat, panoramic sunroof and power adjustable
02:29pedals.
02:30You get auto hold, blind spot warning, forward and reverse sensors, adaptive cruise control,
02:36trailer towing package with Ford's trailer backup system, beautiful 22-inch wheels and
02:42a heated steering wheel.
02:45Another neat feature is the Lincoln Approach and Farewell.
02:49As you get near, Navigator awakens with a graceful greeting.
02:52Lighting flows outward beneath the headlights, while the Lincoln Star on the grill lights
02:57up and the running boards drop down.
03:00Navigator recalls all memory settings and all this happens before you actually reach the
03:06vehicle.
03:07Navigator has the absolute best head-up display I've ever seen.
03:12It lets you view speed limit signs, shows you how fast you're going, the time and fuel
03:17range.
03:18New for 2022 is ActiveGlide, which allows for true, hands-free driving on pre-qualified sections
03:25of divided highways that make up over 130,000 miles of North American roads.
03:31However, know that atop the steering wheel, you're being watched.
03:35If you take your eyes off the road for more than four seconds, you'll get yelled at.
03:39Yes, the Navigator is large and it comes with capacity for seven or eight passengers.
03:44The Reserve has an incredible console between the second row caps and chairs, with a computer
03:50readout for settings.
03:52There are two TV screens that feature Amazon's Fire TV 10, which enables backseat passengers
03:58to access media through multiple entertainment apps.
04:02With integrated Bluetooth, along with 16 gigabits of storage, rear passengers are able to stream
04:08TV and movies, as well as listen to music, search information through Alexa voice remotes,
04:14and play video games on the go.
04:17Perhaps where the Navigator shines the brightest is the third row seat that was built for real
04:22adults.
04:23People well over six foot tall would be comfortable in the rear with good head and leg room.
04:29The Navigator rides, drives, and handles as good as it looks, and it's super quiet inside.
04:35Fuel economy is not bad for a 6,000-pound SUV, 16 in town, 22 on the highway, and 18 combined.
04:42MSRP as equipped like this one is $104,685.
04:49Although not as blingy as the Cadillac Escalade, the Navigator is a pure luxury SUV that is a joy
04:55to drive, and has massive amounts of room inside.
