01:41you to hit the QR code so that you can, if you have questions and different things you want
01:45to ask me today, you have to put them in the chat and I will read them out loud and shout
01:50you out loud. Everything is shoppable in the carousel on my Amazon live stream page. Okay. I also,
02:02before we even get started chit chatting and talking about products, I want to give a shout out to Jane
02:10Kennedy. She just released a new book. It's her memoir, which I cannot wait to read. I mean, Jane
02:20Kennedy was an image of beauty ever since I was a little kid. I remember how she was just gorgeous
02:26and now she's put out this book and she was like, Jane Kennedy is a pioneer. She has been an American
02:35actress, a model and sports catch and sportscaster. And she's best known for a trailblazing role on
02:42CBS is the NFL today being the first black Miss Ohio USA and breaking barriers in fitness and sports
02:51media. Her book is in the carousel. So I hope you guys have a chance to click it and drop it in your
02:59cart. She'll be doing a panel at the essence author stage right after this at 1 PM. So make sure you
03:07get a chance to go. Okay. So how y'all doing before I get started, let me find out. I want to ask you a
03:16question. Come on up, come on up, come on up. Yep. Yep. Yep. I want to know, have you been having a good
03:23time at Essence Fest? Yes. Okay. What are you looking forward to this weekend? Seeing you perform.
03:30Oh, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. So if you guys did not know, I will be performing with my
03:37girls Xscape. Jermaine Dupree, he is doing a tribute on Sunday and we are a part of the tribute to
03:46Quincy Jones. So I hope you guys have a chance to check that out. And then another thing that
03:52also is happening tonight, my girl group Siren, I am helping another girl group with dreams,
03:59helping them get their start and they can sing their butts off. They will be performing tonight.
04:03So I hope you got a chance to hit, come see the big stage this evening. Um, so these are some of my
04:10favorite products that are on today's Amazon live and they will help you beat the heat. So, uh,
04:20let's get started with this little fan. How many of y'all brought y'all little fans out here for
04:24Amazon live today? Who did it? I know you got, you have, this is a must. This is a must for this heat
04:32that they got going on in new Orleans. Now my daughter, Riley, she put me on the same little
04:37fan long time ago. She did not leave the house without this fan. Okay. So I love this fan is a
04:43handheld fan and she just, she just told me I needed it. And ever since I don't like to go anywhere
04:49without it. But here's another one because I am, I'm going straight out of orders, but since I'm on
04:56fans right now, now this one is good for the people like me who got braids. Okay. This is one of those
05:03misting fans. Have you ever used one of those? When you are in the heat and you, uh, basically the fan
05:12comes on, you can fan yourself, but if you need like a little something to cool you down, you can
05:16hit yourself with a little water. Now I know if I, if we got a fresh press, we may not want to spray
05:22the water. Okay. But we can keep cool with the fan. And then if you got braids like me, you can hit
05:29yourself with a little, a little squirt of, um, you know, a little misting breeze. That's what we like.
05:36Okay. So I want to see some of your questions. So let me go ahead and look right now on this
05:45pad to see what the people are saying. They said we are live y'all. We are live. Um, normally, I don't
05:56know if y'all have ever seen one of my lives on Amazon, Amazon live, but I do all kinds of stuff on my
06:01live. I bring on guests. Um, I also give, sometimes I give away things. I pick people to go with me to
06:09the Beyonce concert in Atlanta next week. So we have done all kinds of fun stuff, but, um, I love reading
06:16the comments. Oh goodness. Why do they do me like this? It says I have to sign in to do this, to see
06:23the chat. My Amazon live friends. I need you to sign this in so I can see the chat. They put it so
06:32that I could not see the chat right now. All right. It's okay. I'm going to bring one of y'all. We're
06:37going to live chat right now. Would you like to come on up? How are you? Okay. We're going to, we got,
06:45I, okay, come on up. First of all, I want to say you look beautiful and your dress is fabulous.
06:53Fabulous. What is your name? My name is Amira. Hi, Amira. Do you have a question today? I do.
06:59You're so successful. Do you have any financial tips for someone who just got out of debt? Oh,
07:06that is a good one. Okay. So growing up, my mama always said good credit is better than money,
07:14right? So if you just got out of debt, and I know a lot of people are going through things right now.
07:20I always tell people to, you have to budget. There are a lot of budgeting apps out there,
07:29right? But the main thing for me, it's to separate ourselves so we don't get in the thing of,
07:36you know, shopping so much that we put our bills, we put our bills in trouble, right? So I just told
07:44my little cousin this the other day, this is something that I had to do when they, you know,
07:48I'm a little old, but I was around when they first started making the ATM card, a debit card.
07:55And I realized that when you keep swiping, you can swipe yourself so much to where you swiping into
08:01your bill money. So what I did to prevent that going in forward, I have a bank at two separate banks.
08:09One, I put my money in that I know covers all my bills. And I do not even carry an ATM card for that
08:19account. Okay, so then there's no way that I can swipe into my bill money, right? And then the other
08:27bank, I put my, you know, a little spending money, whatever you have budgeted for yourself to be able
08:35to spend. The reason why I put them in two separate banks is because sometimes when you
08:40overswipe, the bank will overdraft into your savings or your bill pay account. And you don't want that
08:46to happen. But if you have your money in two separate banks, they can't do that. They can't
08:51overdraft into what you have saved for your bills. So that is just a small tip that I give to people
08:58that makes it a little bit easier when you're trying to get back into budget yourself right,
09:02you know. And I know that this panel is not about that today because this is about shopping.
09:09But I just wanted to tell you that for a quick second. And also always, you know, put a little
09:13bit to the side so that you can use for saving and investing, you know. Okay. Um, yeah, I'm gonna
09:22start off with this. I'm gonna think about candy coating. I have my own makeup line and I'm not sure if
09:28you guys knew that, but we have this beautiful lipstick. Excuse me. This is the case. It's called
09:35Pretty Powerful. And this particular color is, uh, it's a strong red. I feel like everybody needs a
09:43power red. Everybody needs a power red. I should have put my power red on today. But if I have a red
09:50lip on, know that it's pretty powerful from Candy Coated Cosmetics. So I would love for you to put that
09:56in your cart today. Okay. Let's move right along. Now this right here, this is simple, but I think
10:06it's important for everybody who'd like to go to concerts because you know, they stop us from taking
10:12our purses in those arenas. So you have to have a small clear bag. And so everybody needs to put this
10:20in their cart. If you just need a clear bag that you can carry stuff in when you go to a concert,
10:26you know, we need our money. We need our light. We need our ID, our credit card, or we definitely need
10:32our light for our, everybody want to do a little content. So bring your little light, your miniature light.
10:38All right. All right. Um, Ooh, I love these Pumas. Now, Essence Fest is not the place for high heels.
10:49Even though I got my heels on right now, I got some flip flops in the bag. But Essence Fest is the place
10:56that you really need to have some good sneakers. A lot of people don't even know you can get Pumas
11:01right on Amazon. Okay. I don't know if y'all knew that, but these are the good ones. And then you can get
11:07them right on Amazon live. Okay. I'm going to move on to, oh, did they, oh, did they open it up for me?
11:15No, they did not. Okay. Let's see. Um, it says Kevin James says, Hey, Candy and happy Juneteenth.
11:25It's still my birthday. Uh, okay. Happy birthday to you. And Janice B says, I love you, Candy. I'm on the
11:33second row in front of you. Janice. What's up girl? Janice, please come over here right now.
11:41How are you? I feel like I'm at the prices, right? Come on down. This is so funny to me. Um,
11:50I've never been able to do Amazon live with the audience before. Like that was sitting in right in
11:55front of me, which is pretty cool. Cause I do like to meet people. Hello, Janice. Wait, hold on.
12:04What is, tell the people your name and where you're from. Janice Edgar, originally from Albany,
12:10Georgia, but I live in Jefferson now, North of Atlanta. Awesome. Oh, wow. She, it's okay. We can say
12:18it out loud. My friend is a dermatologist and her name is Jinga Jinga. And she has a place called
12:23Pretty Faces Atlanta. She says we both go there. All right. Thank you. Now. Oh, I didn't let
12:29let out. Did you have a question you would like to ask? No. Okay. Okay. That's cool too. So nice
12:37to meet you. So nice to meet you. Um, okay. I want to know who's first time at Essence.
12:45Oh, wow. Are you enjoying yourself? Yes, you are. Are you? Who said that? You said that too,
12:54as well. Are you enjoying yourself? That is good. Oh, okay. Come on, friend. Tell the people your name.
13:03My name is Crystal Coleman. And I kind of want to piggyback on the question that the other lady had.
13:08I would like to know if you are willing to open up a franchise, uh, chicken place like Popeye's or
13:16churches for us. Wow. Um, well, that's a good question. Um, I mean, I never thought about it.
13:27You know what? I will tell you being as though that I have had restaurants, the restaurant industry
13:33is the hardest business that I've ever been a part of. You know, it is really, really tough.
13:40And, um, I don't really know, maybe it might be different with like franchising something that's
13:46more of a quick, fast, um, type of restaurant. But either way, I feel like, you know, I've learned
13:51a lot of lessons, you know what I mean? And I feel like out of the different businesses that I've been
13:56a part of, that one is the hardest one because you get so frustrated. You'd be thinking that you're
14:01fixing everything, but it's so dependent on everybody in your team and you need so many
14:06from the, from the person that meets, greets people at the door to the back of the kitchen
14:11and all of that. Everybody affects, every little thing counts. And if one person is not holding
14:18the standard, man, you looking crazy. You looking crazy in these streets. So it's tough.
14:25So to answer your question, girl, I don't want no more restaurants. I don't know. That was a long
14:34thing to say, to say, no, I don't want no more restaurants. Anyway, um, you know what? This
14:42is something that else is really cool. So I love this. This is the Instix, uh, mini 12 camera.
14:49And let me see. Did I turn it on? I must not turn it on. I thought I turned it on, but maybe I did not
15:00turn it on. Maybe I didn't turn it on. Okay. Well, the thing about this camera, I don't think the power
15:07is on. And, or they didn't put batteries in it, one or the other. Okay. Let me figure it out. But anyway,
15:16the reason why I think that this one is a really, really cool item is because we only take pictures
15:22on our phones now. And have y'all thought about the fact that, oh, she's going to do it. Sorry. Um, have y'all
15:31thought about the fact that when we get older or if we're no longer here, that all those pictures in your
15:39phone, if you don't print them out, nobody's going to have them. I have so many pictures from
15:46when I was younger that I used to print and, you know, all that stuff. And, and, you know,
15:51everybody loves to go through old family photo books and photo albums or the pictures that we put
15:56on our walls. But that's going to be non-existent in the future if people don't really print their
16:02photos. Cause what happens if your hard drive crash or, you know, nobody knows your code to open up
16:08your photos. So you don't think about those types of things later on in life, you know,
16:13but I always think about that because, you know, especially when you lose people important in
16:18your life and you think about it, it makes you be like wondering, like, dang, you know,
16:24we didn't have no picture together or whatever. So I always say, print your photos, y'all print your
16:31photos.
16:32Here we go. Wait, what am I doing? I'm over here putting my finger on top of the,
16:41uh, on top of the lens. Here we go. All right.
16:48Polaroid. I always love a good Polaroid. Love a good Polaroid. You know, that's that instant
17:00gratification. Oh, I forgot to tell y'all that this fan also has a flashlight. Just FYI, this
17:08fan. So it's pretty cool for that as well. I'm over here with all kinds of products in my
17:14mind. Let me put this down for a second. I like to greet and meet the people. So let's
17:20have a talk about something that I've used recently. These liquid hydration multiplier
17:27electrolyte drink mix. This is really good, y'all. You can keep these in your purse or in
17:33your bag, whatever you got. They're easy to carry around, but they keep you hydrated. And
17:40when you go out of town, they are good to take. I went to Zanzibar in January and I took
17:47these with me. So I always try to share with y'all stuff that I've been able to find, you
17:54know, that I actually use myself. So if you get a chance, go ahead and get you some of those.
18:00All right, friends. Let me see over here. How you doing? I'm great. You got bags. You've been
18:07already shopping. Okay. Oh, you got me on live. What is your name? Leticia. Hello, Leticia. Where
18:16are you from? Where are you from? I am from Tivotal, Louisiana, about an hour from New Orleans.
18:24Yes. I love your accent. Don't y'all love people, you know, that live around this area. Their accent
18:30is so cool to me. Okay. Do you have a question today? I just want to congratulate you for being a
18:36role model for black women like me. We love you. We admire you and we want to keep uplifting
18:42you and keep blessing, keep praying for you to do the best. You're wonderful. Thank you. I appreciate
18:48that. It really feels good. Thank you for the love. It's nice to meet you as well. Guys, let me just say,
18:57this is beautiful. You know what? I also should have asked you, what product over there did you have
19:03or anybody out here you want to shout out today that you, you know, so many amazing booths out
19:08here. Anybody that you saw that she was like, let me shout them out. I would like to definitely
19:14shout out, what's the hair product we just bought, Sherry? We just bought some hair products from a
19:21black owned business. That's always good. Okay, girl, help me out because I had a little thinning up in
19:33here. I thought I was going to have to get me some of those hair plugs. Yeah. Okay. Shout out to
19:43you. Bask and leather. Oh, that sounds cool. Shout out to y'all. Shout out to y'all. Hopefully y'all
19:50have y'all products. Huh? Tokyo. Okay. She shouting out Tokyo. Yes. And I got to shout out my girl Angel
19:58Love. She has her, um, her booth somewhere around here. So yeah, everybody is doing their thing. Okay.
20:08Here's something else that I liked. Everybody need a good stand or a good selfie stick. So this one
20:14is, you can use it as a selfie stick. Boom. Or you can, excuse me, or you can, um, just have it as a
20:25stand. Sometimes it's good to have one that could do like this length. So where you could put it on
20:31your table. If you just want to sit down and do like a food blog, for instance, and you just need a stand
20:36that sits on your table, you don't want it too tall, but then you also want one that can actually
20:41go up. And this one actually goes up. Unfortunately for me, I got the mic in my hand and I'm trying,
20:49but y'all get the point. You get what I'm saying? So it goes from super short to super tall. And, um,
20:58so that's why I like it because sometimes you get a stand that will only do, you know, tall enough for
21:04your table or it'll be tall enough for here. It's not no in between. So this one is perfect. And it
21:10also comes with a little remote that you can, you know, so if you don't have anybody take your
21:16pictures, you could just tap and then, you know, how are you guys doing? I'm coming to this side.
21:24What's up with the people over here?
21:29Y'all, I hope, I hope y'all gonna have energy for the rest of the day. Cause y'all,
21:34y'all sitting over here and just, yeah. Okay. So how are you feeling over here? What is going on?
21:42Y'all been shopping? Have y'all been shopping? Okay. Well, that's good. That's good. They said,
21:48I only got one minute left. So it was really time for me to say goodbye. And I didn't even tell you
21:52what my favorite product was, but what I will say is if you hit that QR code, they are going to give
21:59you $5 off. If you purchase something within this, um, live stream, is that correct? Did I say it
22:08right? No. Oh, that's tonight, but it's still going to be for this live stream. So make sure
22:16you stay connected is they going to give you the discount later. So just join on later for the
22:22discount. Hello. Oh, thank you. I love you too. I love the hair, honey. That's how my daughter Riley
22:29wears the big hair and all the wild styles. I like that stand out in a crowd always. Yes. All right.
22:37Well, what I will say is I did not get through everything on my list. It's so many great products,
22:42products, but you definitely need your battery charger, portable battery charges and some cute
22:50shots. All right. I'm for it. So time to be to say goodbye. Love y'all. I'll see you later.
22:59See you later tonight. And I'll see you on Sunday.
23:12Bye-bye.
