The K4 exhibits agile handling in all its powertrain variants. The top-of-the-line model is particularly dynamic: the 1.6 T-GDI 180 DCT sprints to 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 210 km/h. The compact car also performs well when towing. Both versions of the 1.6 T-GDI can pull trailers weighing up to 1,410 kg (1.0 T-GDI: 1,010 kg, DCT: 710 kg, both braked).
Although the K4 is a global Kia model, its driving dynamics and steering response are specifically tailored to European drivers. Kia engineers conducted extensive testing to fine-tune the chassis, both at the Hyundai Motor Group's European Research and Development Center in Rüsselsheim, Germany, and on test tracks throughout Europe. Kia engineers also focused on European expectations when developing the wheel suspension and steering. The result is a balanced driving experience characterized on the one hand by high ride comfort, a relaxed driving feel and linear, predictable handling, while on the other hand, the quick response and direct steering also allow for sporty driving and agile cornering.
