00:00Thank you
02:00Celtic's fourth round win over Auchinleck Talbot may not have been as flamboyant as supporters hoped, but a 2-0 victory to advance through with Martoninho's club still set on a fourth straight final Scottish Cup appearance after last season's showpiece heartbreak.
02:18Five Celtic changes from the win against Falkirk a week ago.
02:22Joel Nvuka makes him's debut.
02:24There's no Maida in the squad.
02:26Sinisalo remains the Scottish Cup stopper.
02:29Paolo Bernardo starts again after his appearance against Auchinleck in the previous round.
02:35Truste and Hattati are also starters with new signing Junior Adamu a sub.
02:40Stephen Presley names an unchanged 11 from last week's 0-0 lead draw with St Mirren.
02:45Scotland under-21 defender Graham was linked with a move but stays in dark blue.
02:50Former Manchester United youth Hamilton is impressed this season.
02:53Congreve and Jogan have talent in attack.
02:56A new loan signing Wright could make a second Dundee debut from the bench.
03:01He'll hit it after he keeps it moving.
03:09Chivancherat.
03:10This one slipped through.
03:12Yang goes for the early cross.
03:13Nvuka!
03:15Just too much pace on the ball for Joel Nvuka to try and wrap that right foot around it.
03:25Bernardo will close.
03:28That was a Dundee goal kick but...
03:31You can see Dre Wright was the deepest there playing.
03:35After O'Neill watches on.
03:43Hattati assesses.
03:46Saved by McCracken.
03:49Mario Hattati's been lively inside this first 12 minutes.
03:53Plenty of gaps in the Celtic crowd with the support making.
03:57No voices heard.
04:01Corner delivered.
04:03Sinisalo comes.
04:05The touch.
04:05Oh and another touch.
04:07Just took it past the post.
04:09Araujo was flying at it too.
04:12It just didn't seem to change direction.
04:15And it's Astley moving in.
04:17Simon Murray look at his reaction.
04:18He can't believe that didn't result in a Dundee goal.
04:22Tini's header.
04:23Collected by Yang.
04:24Tini's header.
04:28Tini's header.
04:29Tini's header.
04:29Tini's header.
04:29Tini's header.
04:30Was he pushed?
04:31Celtic Park thought so.
04:33And so did Ryan Lee, the referee.
04:39Graham.
04:40With two hands on the back.
04:42And at that angle.
04:44And VAR is checking.
04:46If this was inside the penalty area.
04:48But it's a quick check.
04:49And the decision is.
04:50It was outside.
04:52It will be a Celtic free kick.
04:58Simon Murray takes for Dundee.
05:00Rolled for Congreve.
05:03The only thing on his mind is attacking.
05:06Yang does well with the defending.
05:08Lovely footwork from Hamilton.
05:09He goes for goal.
05:10Oh, it's a stunner.
05:14And it's his first goal for Dundee.
05:17And what a strike it is.
05:21The former Manchester United youth who made the switch to Dundee in the summer.
05:26Stunned Celtic Park.
05:28The Dundee support.
05:30Ecstatic.
05:30Ecstatic.
05:39There was that pause where you just thought.
05:41Maybe you'll play in Congreve.
05:45But Hamilton.
05:47After that lovely move to peel away with the ball.
05:51Look at this strike.
05:52Rising.
05:53Swerving away from Sinisalo's right hand.
05:56It burst the top corner of the net.
05:58Just look at what it means to Ethan Hamilton.
06:05McGregor.
06:07Out for Tierney.
06:08Inside the box.
06:10Drills over.
06:11And Yang.
06:13Threw out a foot.
06:15Hoping to stab it on target.
06:20Tierney opts to go for the bylane this time.
06:22Celtic maybe haven't done that enough from their point of view in this match.
06:28Skills.
06:31Yang.
06:33Slipped in for Tierney.
06:35Important stop by McCracken for Dundee.
06:41Tierney has one thing on his mind straight away.
06:44It's right at the Dundee stopper.
06:47He's got right looking to get in behind the flag.
06:57It's right.
06:58Looks for the cutback.
06:59And it rolls through.
07:00Yogan.
07:01And Sinisalo somehow stops.
07:04And then Tierney on the line.
07:08Well the hearts of the Dundee supporters must have been in their mouths there.
07:14Right patient.
07:16Picked out the pass to Jones.
07:18Yogan is just looking to place it.
07:20And it takes a touch on the way through.
07:26Sebastian Tunetke.
07:28Looks to produce again.
07:33Not far away from replicating that stunner.
07:37Again stalking Lech Talbot in the last round.
07:40Couldn't find the target.
07:41John McCracken's goal.
07:48McCracken will try and help a few more of those tick by.
07:55Here's Tierney caught with a high boot.
07:58The referee will bring play back.
08:03Congreve receives more than a conversation.
08:05With the yellow card shown.
08:06As Kieran Tierney goes off.
08:10The signal is a minimum of five minutes.
08:16Another look at the watch from Ryan Lee, the referee.
08:20Final chance for Tunetke possibly.
08:23Delivered.
08:24And clipped in!
08:28Wow!
08:31Junior Adamu.
08:33On his Celtic debut.
08:36The signing on loan from FC Freiburg.
08:44What an introduction.
08:47The cutest of flicks.
08:49It was going to take something special.
08:52And Adamu steps up with it.
08:55Celtic 1.
08:57Dundee 1.
08:58Tunetke for McEwen.
09:06Offers the return.
09:07Tunetke!
09:10And he does it again!
09:13The Tunisian makes it two.
09:16And it's another special Sebastian Tunetke moment in the Scottish Cup.
09:26A stunner against Dock and Lech Talbot.
09:30And he smashes that one underneath McCracken.
09:34What a turnaround from Celtic.
09:37Oh, give it away.
09:43Celtic looking for a third.
09:45Slip through for Negrin.
09:47Onto the right foot.
09:48Saved by the right leg of McCracken.
09:50Unselfish play from McCown.
09:55Could have kept going on his own.
09:59Can Dundee make it count?
10:06McCracken launches.
10:09Header down.
10:10Halliday there.
10:11Across.
10:12Headed away by Scales.
10:13Hamilton!
10:13Slices high and wide.
10:18That was the chance.
10:21The second half hero.
10:23For some time.
10:25Can't repeat.
10:26In the second half of extra time.
10:31There is.
10:33Full time.
10:35It has been a compelling.
10:37All Premiership Cup tie.
10:39It finishes after extra time.
10:41Celtic two.
10:44Dundee one.
10:49My own view is that I think that the players have found a resilience.
10:54And a will to keep going, I think, as much as anything else.
10:57And that's really down to them.
10:59They're, you know, in the dressing room.
11:01They're out on their feet at this minute.
11:03So, hence the needers.
11:05We talked earlier about getting a couple of recruitments in.
11:08So, the recruitment scores a goal for us.
11:10Delightful.
11:11I don't have a clubhole, no.
11:13I'm just extremely disappointed.
11:15Because, as I said to you, Rob,
11:17we thought we'd managed to do it.
11:21And, unfortunately, it wasn't to be the case.
11:25But we've got to be proud of that performance.
11:27Congratulations to Celtic.
11:30They are in the quarterfinal draw, Scott Allen.
11:32Can you put into words how sick Dundee fans must be feeling tonight with the way that match went?
11:38Just genuine heartbreak.
11:40They've seen a team that put absolutely everything into that performance.
11:43Resilience.
11:44Composure.
11:46And to be undone in the last minute.
11:48When they were so close to obviously getting into the next round of the cup.
11:50They'll be really disappointed.
11:52But lots to like about this Dundee performance.
11:54It was quite incredible.
11:55It'll be a 117-year wait for Scottish Cup glory for Dundee, it seems, at least.
12:01But, um...
12:01Ethan Hamilton, Scott.
12:04We have been searching our brains for superlatives to properly describe us.
12:08What are you going for?
12:10I tell you, we came up with a few.
12:12But this is a worldie.
12:13This is an absolute worldie.
12:15Great run, initially.
12:17But Hamilton, you follow this up.
12:19Quick feet.
12:20Step inside.
12:21And the purest of strikes into the top corner.
12:24Far away top corner.
12:25He was excellent at the full game.
12:26We spoke about him before that, Scott, didn't we?
12:28And he was first class.
12:29Yeah, he's one of the players who's really impressed me.
12:32Every time I've seen him play this season.
12:33But one of the main things about Dundee today was being able to spring from defence into attack.
12:37When you have two wide players in Congreve and Yagan.
12:40And then the quality of Dandan and Hamilton, who we'll get to.
12:43Then they showed signs of real quality today.
12:45Yeah, Hamilton, he came through at Hutchie Vale.
12:47Actually signed a professional contract with Manchester United.
12:49But doing great things today for Dundee.
12:51And as you mentioned there, Scott.
12:52I mean, there was so much to like from this Dundee performance today.
12:56Yeah, I think the biggest thing for me was the composure on the ball.
12:59I think when you go to Celtic Park, the best thing you can do is when you do turn over the ball.
13:04Can you take that extra pass and show a bit of composure?
13:06Find the spare man.
13:07They've certainly done that today.
13:08And it allowed them, when they were defending the numbers, to get themselves up the pitch.
13:12And caused Celtic a lot of problems.
13:13Put deliveries in the box, as I touched on.
13:15Yagan and Congreve constantly wanting to get out there.
13:18Direct opponent.
13:19But for me, the two in midfield, Hamilton and Yanda, I thought were outstanding.
13:23This is a fantastic ball.
13:25From Luke Green wrapping it into the striker's feet.
13:27Out the other side, look at that.
13:29It's what you want to see from a team going to Celtic Park, playing with full confidence.
13:33And that's what Steven Presley's slowly but surely built in this Dundee side.
13:36So, I said, so much to like.
13:38Halliday as well was outstanding.
13:40Ultimately, up until he got undone near the end of the game.
13:43But that pass from Yandanda is proper vision.
13:46And you've really seen that freedom Dundee played with today.
13:49And it allowed Yandanda constantly, like you've seen this clip here, he wins the first contact.
13:55But you don't recognise him for winning balls in there.
13:57But he won a lot in there.
13:59He's constantly scanning.
14:01Constantly scanning in this clip.
14:02And you just see him trying to pick up pockets, like you did as a player, Scott.
14:06Picking up pockets.
14:07And this bit here, he just sees a bit of vision.
14:09Sees Scott Wright, right behind him.
14:11Knows exactly what he wants to do.
14:12This ball's coming down the line.
14:14We round the corner.
14:14We strike our give and go.
14:15And Wright does brilliant.
14:17Takes it in behind.
14:19And they're so unlucky not to get the finish on that.
14:21And this is at 1-0 as well.
14:23So, if this goes 2-0, the game's dead and buried for me.
14:26Kiritier and he actually shows great composure.
14:28Real composure on the line, isn't it?
14:29But what's really good about that clip was Yandanda playing off the side of Cal McGregor.
14:33He caused them problems.
14:34And then you've got Scott Wright running beyond Cal McGregor.
14:37They made Celtic worry about them all day.
14:40Lee, what is it about the Martin O'Neill effect?
14:42Obviously, bringing on these substitutes.
14:44And, well, what an impact right at the death.
14:48Tenechty was excellent.
14:49He was.
14:49And like Scott said, Halliday defended absolutely outstanding until the last minute of the game.
14:56And just, it's a great bit of skill.
14:57You can't take that away from Tenechty.
14:59And a great wee deft touch in the end to get his first goal.
15:04He just gets caught square, doesn't he, Halliday?
15:06It's the one moment.
15:07But, listen, after that, Celtic's tails are up.
15:09Dundee are really deflated, obviously losing that goal.
15:12So near the end.
15:12And this, when you're playing against teams who have got bodies behind the ball, this is what you need.
15:16Combinations.
15:17This is what I think Celtic fans expect to see from their side.
15:20Tenechty giving goal with Luke McCown.
15:21It's a lovely rated ball and he drives it home.
15:24And at that point, listen, you think Dundee are going to be dead on their feet.
15:27But, listen, they kept trying to get back in the game.
15:30But Celtic just had too much for them in the end.
15:31And yet, Lee, for large parts of this match, Celtic would toil.
15:36I mean, where do the problems lie for you?
15:38We saw with, obviously, the fan boycott today, you know, lots of empty spaces at Celtic Park today.
15:44And they unveiled before the match as well, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, former Liverpool, an Arsenal player.
15:51He hasn't played since May.
15:54He left Besiktas in August.
15:55I mean, you wonder, well, how much impact do you think he will have and will it help sort of seal, heal the wounds at Celtic?
16:03There seems to be a lack of synergy there at the moment.
16:05Yeah, I hope so.
16:06I think, obviously, there was a boycott from the Celtic fans today.
16:11But they've certainly, the ones that were in the stadium, voiced their opinion.
16:14Celtic struggled to break Dundee down.
16:16But that's, I think that's credit to Dundee.
16:19Their shape was good.
16:19They moved as a unit.
16:21They played on the counter.
16:22They gave Celtic a lot of problems.
16:24But Celtic find a way.
16:26Last minute, obviously, last 30 seconds, I think, added on because of Tierney's injury.
16:32But they just find a way every time to just grind it out.
16:35And the pass from McCown for the final goal was incredible.
16:38Just touch on the ball under pressure and gets that goal.
16:41You talked about sort of a lack of press from Celtic at the moment, Scott.
16:45Where do you have them right now?
16:47Obviously, they're trying to win the Scottish Cup.
16:49They left it very late today.
16:51They're competing for the Premiership title.
16:53But obviously, dueling it out with Rangers and the Hearts.
16:56How healthy are Celtic right now for you?
16:58It's certainly not scintillating football by any stretch of the means.
17:02I'm looking at Dundee playing out today as much as they were composed.
17:06The counter press from Celtic is not there at the moment for me.
17:09There's times where they would earn so much time.
17:12The Dundee players to pick a pass, get their head up.
17:14You're used to seeing Celtic get really after people, put them under pressure.
17:17That wasn't there today.
17:18But a positive is Junior Adamu, obviously, coming on and making his debut.
17:21Scoring at that stage of the game.
17:23And really introducing themselves to the Celtic support.
17:26There's players come in and they're building.
17:28You just need to give them a bit of time to settle.
17:29And Celtic are into the quarterfinals.
17:31The fifth round would give us a Fife Derby.
17:33Dunfermline Athletic big favourites in this one after dumping out Hibs in the last round.
17:38Neil Lennon's side up against Kelty Hearts, bottom of League One.
17:41Commentary comes from Andrew Petrie.
17:43A first ever Scottish Cup meeting between these two sides.
17:50Kelty have never got the better of their Fife rivals but will hope for an upset today.
17:55Dunfermline, meanwhile, are looking to make it to the quarterfinals for the first time since 2009.
18:04Billy Terrell and Graham Carey are the only changes from the power side that surprisingly lost 2-0 to Erdoganians last weekend.
18:11Dennis Mehmet and Andy Todd drop out.
18:13Kelty drew 0-0 with Hamilton Ackies last week.
18:16They make a couple of changes.
18:17Jack Brydon and Jack Wiley pair up in the back.
18:20Aaron Arnest is into midfield.
18:21James Graham starts up top.
18:33Callum Morrison could be in behind here.
18:36He'll take it all the way himself.
18:38It's a good save from Kyle Gurley.
18:40He's frustrated with himself.
18:43Callum Morrison, he knows that was a good chance.
18:48Decent save from Gurley with his feet.
18:50Patterson inside.
19:00Pettifer went to Arnest.
19:04Cantil growing again.
19:05Oh, that's a lovely touch from Lewis Moore into the box.
19:09And it's blocked at close range by Jeremiah Chalukwa Mullen.
19:15That's a lovely turn from Lewis Moore.
19:19Another opportunity for Kelty Harts.
19:21They're knocking on the door.
19:22Matty Todd inside.
19:32A couple of options.
19:35That's slack from Graham Carey.
19:37Gets the ball back now.
19:41Tries to work it to Andy Todd.
19:43Oh, he goes down.
19:43Big shout for a penalty.
19:45And Lloyd Wilson is not interested.
19:49Let's have another look at this.
19:51Andrew Todd on the turn.
19:54He's caught by Jack Wiley there.
19:56He wags a finger.
19:57He is definitely caught by the Kelty defender.
20:06Just hoofed over the top.
20:08Lewis Moore giving chase.
20:11Up against Abdelai.
20:13Could drop for Arnest.
20:16And he whips it just past the post.
20:20Almost a goal for Kelty.
20:22As we approach the halftime whistle.
20:25And that would have stung their hosts.
20:28A real punch before the break.
20:30But the pars just about to avoid it.
20:34Jordan Gardner watching on.
20:36Part of the consortium that now owns Kelty Harts.
20:40He wants them to be one of the best part-time clubs in Scotland.
20:45Can they get to the quarter-finals of the cup?
20:47That would certainly help.
20:50A ball in from Kane to the back post.
20:53Nodded down to a dangerous area.
20:55And then headed behind.
20:57Dunn-Firmland starting the second half.
21:01The way they started the first.
21:02On the front foot.
21:08Half-time sub Chris Kane.
21:10Just hanging that one up.
21:12And Alec Ferguson.
21:14Not that one.
21:15Heading it behind.
21:17Really it wasn't a million miles away from his own goal.
21:20Fraser launches it long.
21:28Looking for Morrison.
21:29Lovely touch.
21:31He slips in.
21:32Chris Kane chants.
21:33Dunn-Firmland.
21:34It's off the underside of the bar.
21:35Is it in?
21:36Chris Kane is celebrating.
21:38But the goal has not been given.
21:42Let's have another look.
21:43This angle might reveal it all.
21:48Oh, I think that bounces on the line.
21:50I don't know if it ever crosses it.
21:54How unlucky for Chris Kane.
21:55Inches away from the opener.
21:57But Kelty survive.
22:04Plenty of Dunn-Firmland fans still agree if they thought that was a goal.
22:08It's the long ball.
22:11It's played towards the Kelty box.
22:13It comes to Shea Kearney.
22:15Hangs it up to the back post.
22:17There's Chris Kane.
22:18No doubt about this one.
22:23Chris Kane has his goal.
22:25Undone for Lennar in front.
22:29The deadlock eventually broken by Neil Lennon's side.
22:35It's great play from Kearney.
22:37Just honours us up.
22:39Such an inviting ball.
22:41And it's a brave header from Chris Kane.
22:44Stooping to nod that in.
22:48And it's a deserved goal for Dunn-Firmland.
22:51They've got one foot in the quarterfinals now.
23:04I think Andrew Todd's just about kept that in play.
23:07And here is Josh Cooper.
23:09He's only just on the pitch.
23:11He's into the box.
23:12And the ball's in the back of the net.
23:14And it's Chris Kane again.
23:18The man who won this cup was Sid Johnston back in 2021.
23:24And he is firing Dunn-Firmland on their own cup run.
23:30The hard work from Todd setting up Cooper.
23:33I think that might actually take a deflection off Kane
23:37as the Kelty defender tries to clear it.
23:41Chris Kane won't care.
23:42And neither will Dunn-Firmland.
23:43They go 2-0 up against Kelty Harns.
23:52Neil, in cup ties, it's the result that's more important than anything else, isn't it?
23:56Yeah, don't you start?
23:57Because I've had it from everyone.
23:58The performance wasn't great.
23:59I don't care.
24:00Honestly.
24:01It's tense out there.
24:03There's a lot riding on it for the club and the players.
24:07It was difficult to break Kelty down first half.
24:09But second half, he totally dominated the game.
24:10And we got what we deserve.
24:12So I'm absolutely over the moon, Brian.
24:15I'm delighted.
24:15I got the show at half-time to come on.
24:17And I know I'll do what I do.
24:19I'll get myself in the box.
24:20And if we get chances, I'll hopefully get an end.
24:23And thankfully, I did.
24:24Could have been free.
24:25But I'll need to see it back.
24:27I've heard it was over.
24:28I've heard it's over.
24:29So I don't know.
24:29I'll need to check it.
24:31They've done for me the first part of the job.
24:34The second half was to try and frustrate them more.
24:36And then maybe see where it took us.
24:38But I think their quality and even the bench they're bringing on Chris Kane and players that magnitude.
24:45It was always going to be a struggle.
24:47But credit to my players.
24:48As they do every week, they've run through a brick wall for myself and the team.
24:52So I'm overly, I'm very proud.
24:53The Fairland are through and that's great for them.
24:56But the big debate has to be that Chris Kane deserve a hat-trick.
25:01Lee Miller, you kick things off.
25:02I'd love to give him the hat-trick.
25:04I've seen so many replays of it.
25:07But I'm saying it's not over the line.
25:10Apologies, Chris.
25:12But I just don't think.
25:14Listen, it's a great move.
25:16Cal Morrison takes it.
25:17The biggest surprise for me is Cal Morrison passes the ball.
25:21That close to the goal.
25:22That doesn't look over the line.
25:23No, it doesn't.
25:24This looks more like it.
25:25This definitely looks over the line for me.
25:26But I think if the referees get a watch on there, I don't think that's buzzing over the line.
25:31Just fractions.
25:32The curve of the ball is still overhanging the lice.
25:35It's millimetres, Scott.
25:36It depends what view they're looking at it from.
25:39Listen, there was lots to like to put them film in the second half.
25:41I think huge credit goes to Chris Kane.
25:43He came on and really changed the game for him.
25:45I think Shea Kearny done well as well when he came on.
25:47It's a great ball.
25:48Murray Thomas, he's got to recognise there's danger there.
25:51Chris Kane in your six-yard box free.
25:53He's only going to be one.
25:54Cover your centre half.
25:55Tuck in.
25:56Yeah.
25:56I know that himself.
25:57He's seen his reaction right after it.
25:59It's a fantastic header.
26:00Listen, he just cushions it down.
26:02And he was a real strong point for Dunferm in that second half.
26:05It's good play as well here from Cooper.
26:06What I like about Kane here, he goes away on the blind side.
26:09The defender gets a cross.
26:10It's a great striker movement, isn't it?
26:12Yeah, it's exactly what you want to see.
26:13He comes across.
26:14There's any.
26:14Listen, I don't know if Cooper, if it's a cross, come shot.
26:17What I do know is it's really good movement from Chris Kane.
26:20And he was the difference in this game.
26:21Yeah, Chris Kane doing well to avoid hitting the post as well with that first one that counted.
26:27In terms of elsewhere in this match, Andy Todd, should he have had a penalty?
26:32Yeah, I think it's a stolen wall penalty.
26:35I think the referee's got a decent enough view of it as well.
26:38The defender tries to clear it.
26:40Todd gets his foot in there and he's swiped.
26:43Yeah, I don't think he can have any complaints about it.
26:46Yeah, he wags a finger and says no, get up.
26:48But for me, it's a penalty.
26:49It seems pretty clear cut, actually, Scott, when you look at it.
26:51No VAR, obviously.
26:52No VAR, yeah.
26:53And the referee had a really good view.
26:55I was surprised that that wasn't given as a penalty.
26:57But listen, it didn't ultimately undo them for them.
27:00And they came away with a win in the next round.
27:02And listen, you heard Neil Lennon speak at the top of the show.
27:04He didn't care about performance.
27:06It was all about being in the draw for the next round.
27:08And as for Kelty Hearts, I mean, it was a five derby today, Lee.
27:11And, you know, how did you sum up their performance?
27:14They're obviously out of the competition.
27:16Did they give themselves a good account?
27:17I thought they played some tidy stuff.
27:19Yeah.
27:20They'd one or two kind of half chances.
27:22They didn't threaten the goalkeeper enough for me.
27:25But they did play some nice combinations leading up to the final third.
27:28But they just never had that final product.
27:30OK, Dunfermline are through.
27:31Next, would we find the romance of the cup with Elgin City?
27:35They'd only reached the quarterfinals of the Scottish Cup once before,
27:39back in 1968.
27:40And heroic achievement considering the club were in the Highland League at the time.
27:45Could the class of 2026 repeat that feat with a shock today
27:48against Championship side Partick Thistle?
27:50Ellie Davies was there to find out.
27:58This is the home of Elgin City,
28:01the lowest-ranked team left in the Scottish Cup.
28:04Come three o'clock, this place will be absolutely rocking
28:08and no wonder with a place in the quarterfinals at stake.
28:13It won't be easy against a Partick Thistle side
28:16who played two tiers above them.
28:18They've done it before, though,
28:20but that was more than 50 years ago.
28:23It's a huge day for the football club.
28:26It's a huge day for Elgin as well.
28:28We've had a rich history in this competition.
28:31We've been to the quarterfinals once before,
28:33back in the Halcyon days of 1968,
28:35when Elgin were a very successful Highland League club.
28:38No Elgin side have done this since the 60s,
28:41so I think in terms of modern history,
28:43it would certainly be right up there with the best.
28:46You look at the team from the 60s,
28:47they still get spoken about to this day.
28:49Their photos are still up in the boardroom.
28:51So, yeah, look, the players are potentially 90 minutes away
28:53from being spoken about forever.
28:55David Vissigoliath, almost.
29:04It doesn't matter who you're playing,
29:06it's a 90-minute game and you've certainly got a chance.
29:09But, no, it's a bit crazy.
29:10It's the last 16,
29:11it's with Lois on the team still in the competition,
29:13so, no, it could be a good day.
29:15Could there be a shock here today at Elgin?
29:20Yeah, absolutely, there could be a shock.
29:21We're under no illusions, you know,
29:23Partick should come up here and do their job, you know,
29:25and they should be, you know,
29:27they should be getting through to the quarterfinals.
29:28But, as you say, it's a Scottish Cup.
29:30There's a shock almost every year,
29:32so why should it not be at Borough Briggs this afternoon?
29:35We believe that we're a good side.
29:36I know that I've got really good players on my squad
29:38who I believe are capable of playing at a higher level,
29:40and it'll be up to them to go and showcase that
29:42within the 90 minutes of the day.
29:46For us, we just need to approach it, you know,
29:47be relaxed, be calm,
29:49and try and give the best version of ourselves,
29:50and if we can do that,
29:51then you never know what can happen in football.
29:54You don't kind of margin the kind of us to get this far,
29:58but 90 minutes from our quarterfinal,
30:00and then 90 minutes from Harlandon again,
30:01you know, it'll be a real boost to the whole area.
30:04You try and pinch yourself during this week, you know,
30:06and try and concentrate on today's game and keep grounded,
30:08but, yeah, every time you shut your eyes at night,
30:10you're going to dream of the quarterfinals, that's for sure.
30:171960, it was a great year for many reasons,
30:19including it being the last time Elgin City reached the last day
30:22of the Scottish Cup, losing out to Morton.
30:25Baric Thistle also reached the quarterfinal that year,
30:28losing to eventually winners to Fernand Athletic.
30:31It's been a late change to the Baric Thistle,
30:32standing 11, Fraser Taylor injured in the warm-up,
30:35it's a late call-up for Kyle Turner.
30:37That'll come out to Tony Watt against Girvan.
30:43Gets away from him, cover comes from Hyde.
30:46Tony Watt accelerates, still going, Tony Watt,
30:49it's clipped away by Dingwall,
30:50back to Watt, could set up Crawford!
30:53It took a nick on the way, but it's in.
30:56And the breakthrough comes for Baric Thistle,
31:00Robbie Crawford the scorer,
31:02Dingwall
31:02sent it back to Tony Watt,
31:05and that's a good finish.
31:12That's good play,
31:13he does like to hit them,
31:15set up Sargent, Sargent with the opportunity!
31:17Oh, a little juggle
31:19from George Clarke.
31:22Good run from Russell Dingwall,
31:24the Lion Sargent, looking lively.
31:30Thistle continuing to attack,
31:32looking forward a second.
31:34Fitzpatrick
31:34steps on the inside,
31:37that's a decent effort too.
31:39Ben Stanwyth,
31:40always a danger,
31:43certainly caught it with power.
31:44Hyde brings it down.
31:51Crawford chasing him back.
31:54Ben McPherson has to go out
31:55to help that corner.
32:01McIver
32:01sends in a deep one,
32:05it comes across,
32:06it's a chance for Sargent!
32:08At the second attempt,
32:09he gets it in,
32:10and Elgin are level.
32:14Well, he scored the winner
32:17against Devon Veil
32:18earlier in the competition,
32:20and he nets the equaliser here,
32:22scooped up for him,
32:23and the diving header finished.
32:31Elgin on the back foot here,
32:33Alex Samuel goes through,
32:34that's a penalty,
32:35it's a poor challenge.
32:38Miko Vertanen,
32:40his referee, Colin Stephen,
32:41every reason to point to the spot.
32:46For goal number 10 of the season,
32:48Gamlae done,
32:50Tony Watch has lifted it
32:51straight down the middle,
32:53and with a minute to go to half-time,
32:55this will be going in
32:56with a goal advantage.
32:57Ross,
33:03into the middle,
33:05nice header away,
33:07assuring effort.
33:10As I mentioned,
33:11in the first half,
33:12he was dangerous,
33:13and so he proves again,
33:14Russell Dingle,
33:15not far away.
33:16goalkeeper should come and gather,
33:24it's knotted down,
33:25it's all over the place.
33:30Well, sometimes you rue the misses,
33:33and Stanwy,
33:34that's another moment.
33:36Just bounced up,
33:37goalkeeper struggled,
33:38Samuel put it over.
33:39They've done well against
33:46the championship side,
33:47just looked from bottom,
33:49in the lead two,
33:51trying to get that across,
33:52Mikaiva,
33:53it's a brilliant header,
33:55what a move from Elgin City,
33:56and Ryan Sargent nets,
33:59it's his second goal of the game,
34:02and it's his second with his head,
34:04that's a brilliant header,
34:05back across the goalkeeper.
34:06Well, he's looked happier.
34:11Fitzpatrick.
34:14Come out wide to Stanwy,
34:15they want to Fitzpatrick.
34:18Stanwy's calling for it,
34:20gets it,
34:20there's a little deflection,
34:21it's in.
34:23Vertinan is the unlucky player,
34:25Ben Stanwy is the goal scorer.
34:30It's his second of the season
34:31in the Scottish Cup,
34:32having scored against Forfer,
34:34but this one puts the championship side
34:36ahead with ten minutes to play.
34:42Last chance he's not going to get
34:44much better than this.
34:45Dingwo sends it in,
34:47the header across,
34:47the set-up goalkeeper
34:49for the save.
34:51Romachara got the header across
34:52and Kyle Girvan came so close,
34:55and Clark turns the ball away
34:57and breaks Elgin's hearts.
35:03Mark Wilkins wants the full-time whistle,
35:06he's about to get it as well.
35:09What an afternoon in Borough Briggs.
35:11Twice Elgin fell behind,
35:13twice the equalised,
35:14but no way back after Ben Stanwy's goal
35:17with ten minutes to play.
35:18It's Dissell,
35:19going to the last eight
35:20of the Scottish Cup.
35:24We're really disappointed today
35:25because I thought we left everything
35:28out in that pitch today
35:29and we gave a championship team
35:30a really good footballing game.
35:33They're a very good side,
35:34very good players,
35:35but I think we'll take a lot of plaudits
35:37for being that ourselves today,
35:39and that leaves me really proud.
35:40Old-fashioned cup tie,
35:42end-to-end,
35:42loads of set-pieces,
35:43loads of action in the penalty areas,
35:45but the important thing
35:46is in these ties
35:47that you just get through.
35:49And, you know,
35:50pegged back twice,
35:51so the boys had to show
35:52resilience there
35:53and show a better bit of them
35:54to get themselves on top
35:55in the game,
35:55and I'm glad we got the winner
35:56when we did.
35:58That had Scottish Cup magic
36:00written all over it.
36:01All that was missing was a shock.
36:03We even had a stramash,
36:04for goodness sake.
36:05Scott,
36:06Patrick Thistle getting the job done,
36:08and Tony Watt,
36:09he looks like a player
36:10rejuvenated at the moment.
36:12He most certainly is.
36:13He's been one of Thistle's
36:13top performers this season
36:15for Mark Wilson.
36:16You see here,
36:16he just powers away
36:17and manages to lift his head.
36:19Listen,
36:20he doesn't get the first one,
36:20but he's alive to the second one,
36:21shows that presence of mind
36:23to pick out Robbie Crawford
36:24and he dispatches it.
36:25But for me,
36:26Tony Watt,
36:27especially in recent weeks,
36:28has been a real standout.
36:29You see again here,
36:31Alex Samuel through,
36:32filled from Werther in.
36:33Tony steps up,
36:34right down the middle.
36:35And listen,
36:36it was always going to be difficult
36:37what he came up there,
36:38especially Elgin on this pitch,
36:39but this is a fantastic...
36:40Yeah,
36:40this is a great move,
36:41isn't it?
36:42And you see Redding
36:43just having that wee dart inside
36:45creates the space.
36:46Fitzpatrick,
36:47third man running,
36:48follows his run,
36:49and then,
36:50Stan wait,
36:51you don't take a shot,
36:52you don't score.
36:52He takes a shot,
36:53takes the deflection,
36:55and a good way to win it.
36:56It was a nice move,
36:57leading up to it.
36:58Big day,
36:59for Elgin City Lee.
37:01They threw absolutely everything
37:03at Partick.
37:04They saw right to the death,
37:06and they took a big save
37:07from Josh Clark.
37:08They did,
37:08yeah,
37:08Mark Wilson called it.
37:09It was a real good cup tie.
37:13Stromash,
37:13everything,
37:14it's a great save.
37:15Great save at the end,
37:16and I thought they were going to
37:16take it to extra time,
37:17but that was one,
37:18that was a banana skin
37:19for Mark Wilson.
37:20He's done tremendous this season,
37:21he really has.
37:22You have to give credit to Elgin,
37:24because they were in the game,
37:25right up to that,
37:26that last save there.
37:27And I think credit goes to Hester
37:30and Sargent.
37:31Sargent takes his goals brilliant.
37:33He takes his goals really well,
37:34and they were a constant threat
37:35up front for Elgin today.
37:37Yeah,
37:37good for Partick Thistle
37:38to get in the quarterfinals.
37:39I'm sure the finance from all that
37:41will be really useful,
37:42but from an Elgin City point of view,
37:43they are third bottom of the league,
37:44too.
37:45Not a million miles away
37:46from the playoff places,
37:47Scott.
37:48You know them pretty well.
37:49How good a side are they,
37:51and how good an account of themselves
37:53do you feel that they kind of gave it today?
37:55Listen,
37:56I thought they'd definitely
37:57played their part today.
37:58As you see,
37:58there was saves getting made
37:59from Thistle right up until the death.
38:01Ryan Sargent with their two goals.
38:03He's a threat.
38:04They've got physicality up front.
38:05They can cause you problems.
38:07The pitch can be a leveler.
38:08As you see,
38:08it's wobbly at times,
38:10but Alan Hale will be delighted
38:12with his team's performance,
38:13and hopefully they can put that in
38:15in terms of league action,
38:16just not against East Coast.
38:17play.
38:19OK,
38:20the fifth round would kick off
38:21on Friday night
38:22with Airdrionians of the Championship
38:23at home to Premiership St.
38:25It's the first time St.
38:32Mirren have been in town
38:33on Scottish Cup duty
38:34since 1983.
38:36They won that one 5-0,
38:38and whilst they haven't been
38:39in good form,
38:40Tuesday's victory
38:41over Premiership leaders' hearts
38:43will have injected
38:44a real feel-good factor
38:45through them
38:46as they come to Championship
38:48Airdrionians,
38:49who've been a pretty good
38:50Cup side this season.
38:51Mandron
38:55and Devane,
38:57and that is
38:58a special goal
38:59which breaks the deadlock.
39:04Pure class
39:05from Jacob Devane.
39:07First same inning goal
39:08for the Man United kid.
39:12He's got a lovely little flick
39:13with the outside of his left foot.
39:15There you go.
39:16Just plays around the corner.
39:17Only thing in his mind
39:18from Devane.
39:19Take a touch,
39:20and I'm gonna have a shot.
39:21Just clips it perfectly
39:22over top of Harry Stone.
39:29Promising move,
39:30this for Airdre.
39:32To try and find an equaliser,
39:33Kevin Clancy,
39:34as I look at it.
39:36No penalty.
39:38No penalty,
39:39and they are fuming.
39:42It's a really good run
39:44by Bajonis,
39:44first and foremost.
39:46Well,
39:46it's lovely football.
39:48I've got to say,
39:49that looks like a penalty kick.
39:51He's clumsily
39:52into the back of him.
40:01Here's Bajonis.
40:04Well, there's flooding forward.
40:06Oh, it's a brilliant attempt there
40:11from Strap.
40:14And you can tell
40:15by the reaction
40:15on his face,
40:16that's not that far away.
40:18Well, we're directly
40:19behind that.
40:20In the middle of it,
40:21left his left foot,
40:21I'm thinking
40:22that's nested
40:22in the top corner.
40:23Here it goes.
40:31It's not touched by a tetty.
40:33Phillips has made a
40:35lung-bursting run
40:37into the Airdre half,
40:38and it was all for nothing.
40:42It's Bajonis.
40:44Lovely shuffle that.
40:45He's at it again.
40:51Ewan Henderson
40:51goes 17 of the season.
40:55That might be his biggest yet.
40:58Christmas sharpness,
40:59it's lovely,
41:00from Cole McKinnon,
41:01feeds the ball into Ewan Henderson.
41:02When you're a striker on form,
41:04you've only one thing
41:05in your mind,
41:05touch shot.
41:06Taking Quinkley,
41:13see,
41:13Niren hoping,
41:14here's your word set,
41:15it's McMenamin,
41:17it's Odovu.
41:19Where's Agorn?
41:20Forces a brilliant save
41:22out of Stone.
41:24Fantastic effort
41:25for Roland Odovu.
41:26It's brilliant from Odovu,
41:27I've got to say,
41:27lovely little Troif
41:28turn edge of the box,
41:29gets a great shot off,
41:30smart save by Harry Stone.
41:36That's a ball for Ewan,
41:39Odovu,
41:40he scores!
41:45The goal that might just
41:47take Simeon through
41:48to the quarters,
41:50and they will not care
41:51a jaunt
41:53how they got there.
41:55Well,
41:56he's the one
41:56that's probably came
41:57the closest
41:58for Simeon
41:59all night long.
42:01He's had a couple of shots,
42:02he's had a couple of little
42:03cruisks
42:03on the edge of the box,
42:04he's drawn saves
42:05from Harry Stone,
42:07and just as you're
42:08edging towards
42:09120 minutes,
42:11and imagine the relief
42:12will be in the mind
42:14of Steven Robinson,
42:15he knows there's still
42:15a few minutes to go,
42:16but what a classy finish.
42:19Airdrie still have
42:20life about them though,
42:22and from Strat,
42:23away by Mandron.
42:26Here's Odovu,
42:27divine with the challenge,
42:29still he goes,
42:31still alive,
42:32and Airdrie,
42:33and it just gets
42:34away from them.
42:38And Simeon
42:38can absolutely
42:39finish it here.
42:41Here's Roland Odovu
42:42to seal their place
42:44in the quarters,
42:45but Stone
42:46keeps him out.
42:48He lays himself down,
42:49expecting the ball
42:50to go low.
42:51It's a brilliant
42:52save by Harry Stone.
42:55Simeon are through,
42:57and my goodness,
42:58they've had to work
42:58for it tonight.
43:01Roland Odovu had quite
43:02the match,
43:03he would get the winner
43:03here, Lee Miller.
43:05Can St Mirren do
43:06the cup double this season?
43:08You never know,
43:08I tell you what,
43:09it's a great finish.
43:10I was really impressed
43:11with Airdrie.
43:12They played some
43:12really good stuff,
43:13but a sucker punch
43:14right in the end
43:15from Adovu.
43:16Very, very good finish.
43:17Absolutely brilliant
43:18in St Mirren.
43:19Maybe, maybe just
43:20turning a corner
43:21slightly in terms
43:22of the slump
43:23they had after the
43:23League Cup,
43:24in terms of
43:24Airdrie Onions
43:25under Aaron Taylor
43:26Sinclair.
43:27Excellent account
43:28of themselves.
43:28I think we're all
43:28in agreement
43:29they should have
43:29had a penalty
43:30as well.
43:31But yeah,
43:32they'll be feeling
43:33pretty sick about
43:33that, I would
43:34imagine, Scott.
43:34Yeah, they will be.
43:35Listen, it was a penalty
43:36hands down for me,
43:37but again,
43:38lot to light.
43:39Played some really
43:39good football,
43:40some really good
43:40technical football
43:41players in there,
43:42and ultimately
43:43undone by a moment
43:44of real quality
43:44from Roland Odovu.
43:45Yeah, okay.
43:47You know what?

44:18Scott Allen,
44:19can you see
44:20Queen's Park
44:20having Lightning
44:21striking twice
44:22against Rangers?
44:23No,
44:23I'd be very surprised.
44:25I think at the same time
44:26their top goal scorer
44:27this season now
44:28plays for St Johnson
44:29so they're going there
44:30not as well as equipped
44:31as they would
44:31they'd like to have been.
44:32But the other game
44:33for me,
44:34Stenhouse-Muir
44:35and Falkert,
44:35I think if Falkert
44:36don't come with
44:37the right mindset
44:38I think that could
44:38be a difficult game.
44:39Yeah,
44:40it is live
44:40on the telly
44:41tomorrow night
44:42Lee,
44:42you're going to be there
44:43and you know
44:45all about that part
44:46of the world
44:46your co-manager
44:47at Falkert
44:47at one point
44:47played for them
44:48obviously
44:48they are the big team
44:50do you see
44:50any upset there
44:51tomorrow?
44:53It's going to be
44:53a tasty fixture
44:54it definitely is
44:55they'll pack the stadium
44:56as well
44:57I'm sure the Falkert fans
44:58will come in their droves
44:59and it's an interesting
45:00tie and looking forward to it.
45:02Yeah,
45:03and on that surface
45:04as well
45:04would that be a bit of a
45:05I mean obviously
45:07Falkert play on plastic
45:07as well
45:08but they're all different
45:09aren't they?
45:09Yeah,
45:09they're all different
45:10that's a tough place to go
45:11even the way
45:12Stenhouse-Muir
45:14are playing this season
45:14as well
45:15they're playing really well
45:16they're up there
45:16challenging
45:17and I think it'll be
45:18a really tasty fixture.
45:19And Scott,
45:20what else is tasty
45:21is that Lee's going to be
45:22doing the Scottish Cup
45:23to us?
45:25Are you going to go
45:25full Rod Stewart?
45:26No pressure
45:27I have thought about it
45:28but no
45:28no,
45:29just stay there away
45:30I'm asserted to bring out
45:31some crazy fixtures
45:33plucking the balls
