00:01:05Hello, this has always been a magical weekend in the Scottish football season.
00:01:10So they've pulled me out of the hat again to take you through no fewer than 13 of this weekend's fourth round Scottish Cup ties.
00:01:16Four of which went to extra time and penalties.
00:01:20The two Stephens are with me, Cregan and O'Donnell, to share their cup knowledge.
00:01:24Well, let's start with that lunchtime kickoff at East End Park between Championship Dunfermline, for whom this is the first match of 2026.
00:01:33And Habernian lying fifth in the Premiership.
00:01:36A big crowd, a great atmosphere and commentary from Al Lament.
00:01:41Dunfermline players this afternoon, all of them wearing a number four on their jersey.
00:01:48It's to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the passing of their legendary captain Norrie McCarthy.
00:01:56Now Dunfermline play for the first time since just after Christmas.
00:02:00And they bring in new signing Oli Thomas for a debut after he was brought in on loan from Bristol City.
00:02:08Tasha and Oakley Booth is the other player to come in for the bars as Chris Hamilton dropped to the bench.
00:02:14Barney Stewart has returned to Falkirk.
00:02:16Another new signing, Callum Morrison, is among the substitutes.
00:02:19Bernian have gone with a strong side, albeit four changes from the last outing against Motherwell.
00:02:26Rocky Bashiri, Joe Newell, Junior Hoyland and Thiebaud Creegie all come in to start.
00:02:31Newell for the first time in over a year.
00:02:33Martin Boyle and Nicky Cadden are fit enough for the bench.
00:02:40Newell forward for Bowie.
00:02:42Leaves it off to Megwell, it wasn't a great ball, and Fraser's stolen it.
00:02:47Mulligan charges back and Fraser's clipped him.
00:02:52Brilliant work for Mulligan, you have to see, he's done it all at power.
00:02:59I can understand why it's given, he's trying to just hook that up the line.
00:03:03You can see Limping, Leung-Hibbs are going to take any further chances with him.
00:03:17Newell forwards.
00:03:22Now Bowie, if he was in his own half, he is onside and he's clear, and he's through on goal, and he should have scored.
00:03:29It's good goalkeeping back then, he's Mehmet.
00:03:31The little faint, I think it's not a bad idea, but I think you need to move the ball then, because it's always in front of Mehmet and allows him to then go and spread himself and make himself big, which he does.
00:03:45And in the end, it's really good goalkeeping, but Hibbs should be one up.
00:03:53Can't find Bowie though, McGuena gets it forward, onto Ruddin, nods it down looking for Todd.
00:03:59Todd's done well initially, he's got to go for goal, that's a good stop, comes to Ruddin.
00:04:03He's still got Todd there and he can't turn it in.
00:04:09Todd barging his way through, it's a great strike, troubling Salinger who deals with it, and this one here, he just doesn't get the contact that he's looking for.
00:04:18Great energy from Dom Fennell at the start of this second period, out to Matty Todd, early ball, it's a great one!
00:04:31And Ruddin is inches away from connecting, he's actually connected with Salinger, who has taken a sore one in the shin I think, but Ruddin has to slide in for that.
00:04:40It's a great ball in from Matty Todd, in a brilliant area, I mean it's at the end of the slide from Ruddin.
00:04:53Here's a beater, she'll have caught Mullins, header comes back to Hoylet, and he caught that pretty sweetly, another good stop from Dennis Mehmet.
00:05:03Just steps onto it, instinctive, great technique, keeps it down.
00:05:08It's straight at me, it's comfortable for him, but it's a lovely strike.
00:05:11Now it's Chaiwak, looking to just earn himself a bit of space, Clijet once more, that came off the arm of Chilicoa Mullins, it's a big shout from the Hibs fans behind the goal, I think it was his supporting arm, in which case it's not a penalty.
00:05:38It's not a penalty.
00:05:41The supporting arm, the Chilicoa Mullins, as it's on the way down, Steve McLean, right behind it.
00:05:50Obita still full of energy, bounds forward.
00:05:53Caden, slips it back to Obita, Obita as you've got the quality he has, that's a top save again from Mehmet, it's Clijet who's denied from close range.
00:06:09Straight at the keeper, but he did have to react quickly to push it away.
00:06:12Goal now and surely there's no way back.
00:06:26It comes from Todd.
00:06:30Oh, that's a good save.
00:06:33Nguenia denied.
00:06:37Salinger not happy about something, whether there's a block in there, but Nguenia thought he'd scored the winner.
00:06:42Tell you what, it's some hit from Nguenia because he's awkward.
00:06:51Here it comes again!
00:06:52Deflection!
00:06:54It's gone in!
00:06:58What a finish!
00:07:00Scrambled home!
00:07:01Absolute bedlam and he's staying back!
00:07:07As Dunfermline have surely won it out of the death!
00:07:16And it is so lucky from Dunfermline, they don't care, you look what it means to the fans.
00:07:21It comes off a Hibs player, I think it's Chaiwa, who jumps up for the header.
00:07:31It comes off his back, Salinger can't get across to it.
00:07:35It comes off his arm actually, Dunfermline do not care how it goes in.
00:07:40I think obviously we knew they were going to be a good side, but we're confident in our ability.
00:07:45We know we're a good side as well and we can go head to head with any team.
00:07:48So, yeah, we just tried to play our own game.
00:07:51I can't stand here and say we fully deserve to win.
00:07:53I can talk about chances we created, chances we missed.
00:07:56I can talk about decisions, it doesn't really matter.
00:07:59The reality situation is we're out of the cup and that's not good enough for this football club
00:08:03and I mean that with the greatest respect to Dunfermline.
00:08:05Congratulations to them, I think they deserve to go through.
00:08:08They've scored the goal and we didn't do enough to win the game anyway.
00:08:12My back three were fantastic, I'm a goalkeeper, which you need in big games against big teams.
00:08:18We've made a couple of important saves, but yeah, I mean, I said to my assistant,
00:08:22it's got 1-0 written all over it, it could go either way really.
00:08:25And thankfully we were on the right end of it today.
00:08:27Yes, Dunfermline had to wait until today for their first match of the new year, but my goodness it was worth waiting for.
00:08:34And that's why, I suppose, Greg, the celebrations are still going on in Dunfermline tonight.
00:08:39I think it's fair to say it was a big upset.
00:08:42There's no doubt that if Hibs and Dunfermline play to their potential in the same day, more often than not, Hibs come out on top.
00:08:48So what needed to happen today was Dunfermline probably to raise their level a little bit and Hibs just to come off it
00:08:53and be a little bit sloppy, a little bit loose, not be clinical at the top end of the pitch.
00:08:56David Gray touched on it there. That happened.
00:08:58And the longer the game went and you're the favourite, you don't get the first goal, the nerves and the tension could kick in.
00:09:04And then it goes into the Dunembers of the game and lo and behold, they finally get the goal.
00:09:07Yeah, but what a great atmosphere as well, Stephen. It was great to see East End Park filled with that kind of crowd.
00:09:13It's what you want to see. I was fortunate enough to play East End Park a few times with Partick Thistle and it was always full houses.
00:09:19They were pushing for a league until they came into some financial troubles, but they're a big club.
00:09:23A club you want to see back in the Premiership and a great win for them.
00:09:27You see the goal, a wee bit of luck involved. I don't understand why the goalkeeper is going off his head,
00:09:32but you also see with the marking that it's probably the corner leading up to it as well.
00:09:36It's maybe a strike or an attacking player in a position they don't really want to be in.
00:09:40And that kind of contact defending switching off a wee bit to allow the goal to creep in.
00:09:45See, this was the warning sound, Dougie. You're in 90 plus minutes of the game.
00:09:50Eli Yuan allows Nguyen to get away from him. That was the kind of nerve that started to kick in.
00:09:54And lo and behold, look at Eli Yuan. Doesn't want to go for the ball.
00:09:57Yes, they get a slice of luck, but it's the exact same pairing again.
00:09:59Eli Yuan and Nguyen. And it comes off the elbow, I think, of Chaiwa.
00:10:04The goalkeeper, I think, and some of his team-mates think it's actually came off of Dunfermline on.
00:10:07But it's not. You can see it clearly here. The back of the elbow of Chaiwa.
00:10:10And right, sometimes in cut football, you may not be the best team, but a little slice of luck.
00:10:15And you get yourself in the next round. And that's exactly what happened for Dunfermline.
00:10:18We were watching it this afternoon, Craig, and we thought,
00:10:20was there a bit of controversy about the winning goal?
00:10:22In actual fact, there wasn't.
00:10:23No, there wasn't. It's clear cut.
00:10:25And do you know what? It's a good call by VAR.
00:10:27First of all, by the referee and team on the pitch. And VAR cleared it very quickly.
00:10:30Yeah. There was also a discussion at one stage, shall we say, about a possible handball.
00:10:35But I think, again, Stephen, we can say that this is absolutely legitimate.
00:10:39There's nothing wrong with this.
00:10:40Yeah, look, I think it's unfortunate. You can't take your arms off your body.
00:10:43And he's slid into the ground.
00:10:46Young Mullen, in his support arms, caught the ball, I think, or hit it.
00:10:50So it's unfortunate for the Hibs attacker, because obviously it was going into the box, a dangerous area.
00:10:56But there's nothing he can do with that in the right decision, in my opinion.
00:11:00Yeah.
00:11:01So, Dunfermline, clearly, absolutely delighted.
00:11:03So they should be.
00:11:04But Hibs, my goodness, how disappointed will they be, Craig?
00:11:07Because they had the chances today.
00:11:09Well, the thing is, they've been in good form as well.
00:11:11So they would have been licking their lips going to East End Park, thinking,
00:11:14yeah, we're going against a championship side.
00:11:16This is probably their best one.
00:11:18The guy who's got lots of credit has been linked with moves.
00:11:21We're talking £6 million, £6.5 million.
00:11:23I just wonder, did he have too long to think about it?
00:11:25Because at no stage does he move the ball off its line.
00:11:28It's always under his feet.
00:11:29Yeah.
00:11:30I wonder, as he gets out of his feet, do you give himself a cleaner hit?
00:11:32And then, you know, Junior Hoyle, it's a nice strike.
00:11:35It's probably a comfortable save by Dennis Mehmet.
00:11:37But the longer these go on, you don't take your chances.
00:11:40Sometimes up to when the self-doubt can get him.
00:11:42But at the same time, your main striker going through one-on-one with the keeper,
00:11:45you've got to look to him to score, Steve.
00:11:47Yeah, look, as well when he's coming in at that angle on his favoured left foot,
00:11:50I think you're expecting him to hit the net.
00:11:52He's in good form.
00:11:53He's been an important player for them.
00:11:55And I actually thought he sat the keeper down.
00:11:57I thought he meant that.
00:11:58And I thought he was then maybe trying to lift it over.
00:12:00Sometimes you don't execute what you're trying.
00:12:02That's part of football.
00:12:03But yeah, certainly for the season he's had and lots of talk of getting in Scotland squads,
00:12:09he'd be hoping he could have finished up.
00:12:11Yeah.
00:12:12So, Dan Ferman go into tomorrow night's draw.
00:12:14Now for another Premiership versus Championship tied in D United against Air United,
00:12:20who had a morale-boosting 4-1 win over Stranraer in the Challenge Cup in midweek.
00:12:25The commentator is Liam McLeod.
00:12:27One of the standout ties of the fourth round as Championship pair United look to make it an uncomfortable afternoon
00:12:35for the Premiership's two-time Scottish Cup winners Dundee United.
00:12:39A tie that survived a pre-match pitch inspection after torrential rain here in the last 18 to 24 hours.
00:12:46Cleo Harding, Fatah and Waters come into the Dundee United side that was well beaten at Celtic Park last weekend.
00:12:53The hosts have gone out at the first hurdle in the last two seasons,
00:12:57with last year's defeat at Dens particularly sore.
00:13:00AR negotiated a knockout round tie on Tuesday by sweeping Stranraer aside to reach the semis of the Challenge Cup.
00:13:07Former Tanner Ice men Holt and McMahon returned to that old stomping ground
00:13:11with the likes of King, Vanaghan and Murphy boasting top-flight experience.
00:13:15This competition's proved troublesome for Jim Goodwin in recent years.
00:13:20Going up against a man who needs no introduction to the Scottish Cup trophy.
00:13:24There's Ferry.
00:13:29That's an excellent switch.
00:13:34Out to Namo, but he's had it nicked off him.
00:13:37Here goes Roos.
00:13:41He's done well, Dowds.
00:13:43On the turn, that's a brilliant hit as well.
00:13:46He forces an excellent save from David Richards.
00:13:50Excellent work by Roos initially.
00:13:54Dowds had one thing in his mind, and that was to get that on target, which he did.
00:14:01It'll be Amar Fattah to take the corner.
00:14:06Dundee United generally pretty good from set pieces.
00:14:09And the goalkeeper's unconvincing.
00:14:12That's lifted onto the roof of the net by Graham.
00:14:15It's a clever effort.
00:14:18And Liam Russell happy to see that drop over his crossbar rather than underneath it.
00:14:30Sapsford.
00:14:32It's a great play by Sapsford.
00:14:34And on his left foot, he tests Russell who couldn't hold on to it.
00:14:39There's Namo.
00:14:47Well done, Dundee United beginning to flex their muscles here.
00:14:54They will be desperate for the first goal.
00:14:57An early one if possible.
00:14:59Ferry.
00:15:00It's a good ball!
00:15:02Fattah's there.
00:15:06Still alive for Dundee United, they're going to have to settle for the corner.
00:15:13This was Sapsford's opportunity as he moved away from Bannigan.
00:15:21Excellent play by Will Ferry.
00:15:24One way then the other.
00:15:26Just wouldn't drop to Fattah.
00:15:35Here's Fattah.
00:15:39Here he goes, again.
00:15:42Touch let him down but it does break Sibyl's weight.
00:15:47Back it comes to Sibyl.
00:15:50Chance here, Sapsford across.
00:15:52No question of a United player taking a shot until that one.
00:15:58Outstanding effort from Stevenson.
00:16:01And it just arched away at the last.
00:16:10Since they won this competition in 2010,
00:16:12Dundee United Scottish Cup best has been getting to the final in 2014.
00:16:16They lost to St Johnston.
00:16:19Desperate for silverware.
00:16:20And that's brilliant from Cleo Harding.
00:16:23The young centre-back.
00:16:26First shot in anger, really.
00:16:29On target in the second half.
00:16:31Jim Goodwin looking to produce a deep run in this competition.
00:16:40It's so important for Dundee United.
00:16:45Here's Dempsey.
00:16:49Oh, it's nicked off Dempsey by Sibyl.
00:16:50He's got Fattah to his right.
00:16:52Huge moment in the match.
00:16:53This!
00:16:54And a fabulous save.
00:16:56From Russell.
00:16:57And it looked like Dundee United were taking the lead there.
00:17:00The Sibyl had waters through the middle.
00:17:02He chose to use Fattah.
00:17:05It's back to Kamara.
00:17:06He's sibbled.
00:17:08He disguised that.
00:17:11And the effort from Sturton's beaten away.
00:17:16It's another chance!
00:17:17It's just wide!
00:17:18Molar!
00:17:23Good effort that by Sturton.
00:17:24Russell was equal to it.
00:17:27But if this one's still on target, you're thinking it's 1-0 Dundee United.
00:17:31Can I see this?
00:17:34For Ferry.
00:17:35Big switch.
00:17:40For Strain.
00:17:43Battling there by Roos.
00:17:44Strain too, though.
00:17:45And he's got the better of the Romanian.
00:17:47And it comes from Strain!
00:17:48And there's the goal!
00:17:58And it could be the Nicolai Muller's first Dundee United goal's the one that takes them through to round five.
00:18:02And if they go on to lift the silverware in May, what a huge moment this would be!
00:18:19Kamara.
00:18:21It's Chapanofsky.
00:18:23Kamara's made a good run infield.
00:18:24This would finish it.
00:18:25And does!
00:18:26Pan Kamara sends Dundee United through to the fifth round.
00:18:34It's been a really sticky afternoon for the Premiership side.
00:18:38And it was for large spells of this game.
00:18:43That's an outstanding goal from Dundee United and two of the subs combining again.
00:18:49Scott Brown's recruited really, really well and he's got his team well set up.
00:18:55We found it very difficult to break them down.
00:18:58First half I thought we were a little bit sloppy in possession and didn't quite move the ball quick enough.
00:19:02I thought the second half there was definitely an improvement in the tempo of the game.
00:19:06And yeah, I think we deserved to win the game in the end.
00:19:09In the first half we've done really, really well.
00:19:12And it came out the second half we've lost Murph with a groin problem.
00:19:16So Murph's a huge miss for us.
00:19:18But at the same time we didn't start the second half as probably as what we should have.
00:19:23We lost a couple of first and second balls and we've deepened off a little bit.
00:19:28A few small details but overall I'm really happy with the performance levels and they're working for it as well.
00:19:32A very philosophical Scott Brown and it was a game where there really was very little between the teams.
00:19:39The two goals came late, Stephen, and United go through.
00:19:42Yeah, look, I think it's maybe that extra.
00:19:44United looked like they were dominating with chances, had the better chances.
00:19:47And then obviously with the likes of Jamie Murphy coming off, they're losing important players there.
00:19:52And eventually the pressure created the chance.
00:19:55And what will probably frustrate Scott Brown the most is that I've played in teams where you kind of go zonal on the box at times or you go man for man.
00:20:03But when the boys got to the byline, slowed down, slowed down, and then put it into an area.
00:20:08There's four air defenders, not one of them anywhere near Muller.
00:20:13And that's probably what's going on, because his first goal is crucial.
00:20:16And that's probably going to disappoint him the most when you see it.
00:20:18Nicolai Muller getting the goal, but as Stephen says, defensively, Scott Brown can't be happy with his defenders here.
00:20:25I just think, Dougie, what happens is no one ever engages with Muller.
00:20:28You've got four defenders along the six yard box.
00:20:30No one even looks to see where he is.
00:20:32So it's not as if he makes great movement or he's trying to go front to try and shift people.
00:20:36He literally just stands free and drifts into an area.
00:20:38So I think Scott Brown spoke about the finer details.
00:20:41That's a really fine detail.
00:20:42It's an important detail that your defenders have to open their shoulders,
00:20:45make sure they're aware of where centre forwards are or wide players are, and then go and engage.
00:20:49You can't allow the ball to come into your box and have a free shot from that distance.
00:20:56Have a free shot, sorry.
00:20:57There we go.
00:20:58Absolutely.
00:20:59And the second goal came when Air United were chasing the equaliser, obviously,
00:21:03and got caught a little bit and that produced the second goal.
00:21:07Well, it's always going to be late in the game, when you're behind in the game.
00:21:11You commit and sometimes you over-commit.
00:21:13And clearly you run the risk of a quick transition in the counter-attacking.
00:21:16And Pachamara, he's got really good speed.
00:21:19He's a runner.
00:21:20You see, the minute he lays the ball off, he's on his bike.
00:21:22And I've got to say, it's a perfectly timed pass, but the finish is half o'clock.
00:21:25What I was impressed about is the pitches now are cutting up.
00:21:28They're not as smooth to the confidence.
00:21:30It's just striding onto that, open up his foot.
00:21:32It's a really difficult skill.
00:21:34Obviously, the creativity in these two seats would have done that as well.
00:21:37Yeah, absolutely.
00:21:38But great finish and a top goal.
00:21:41So I think over the piece, Dougie, you're talking about
00:21:43Air United did do well from box to box,
00:21:45but weren't clinical enough at the top end of the pitch.
00:21:47I think they had one shot on target.
00:21:49And defensively, if you're a little bit loose against the Premiership side,
00:21:51unfortunately they're going to punish you.
00:21:53Yeah, they were made to pay for it.
00:21:55Right, time for the next three matches on the schedule then.
00:21:58Beginning at Rugby Park, with Kilmarnock having had the benefit
00:22:01of a full week's training under Neil McCann, welcoming Dundee.
00:22:11Neil McCann's first match in charge of Kilmarnock at Rugby Park,
00:22:15and we'll certainly be hoping the Scottish Cup brings aside some
00:22:18much-needed joy.
00:22:20It was the away side Dundee, however, who had the best chances
00:22:25in the opening exchanges.
00:22:27Tony Yagana with this effort, but well blocked by Kela Roos,
00:22:31who was making his debut for the Ayrshire side.
00:22:34The danger not quite cleared by Kilmarnock, however,
00:22:39and a fine cross into the box was met by Ashley Hay,
00:22:42whose effort came back off the woodwork.
00:22:48And on closer inspection, it was actually Ethan Sleight-Brown
00:22:51who cleared the ball off the line for that Yagana effort.
00:22:58Kilmarnock responded in the perfect fashion, scoring the opening goal,
00:23:01and what a strike.
00:23:03David Watson with the corner kick and a fine volley from Dominic Thompson
00:23:08to put the home side ahead.
00:23:10All the attention at the front post, but no one near the onrushing Thompson.
00:23:15The ball coming off both posts before finally crossing the line.
00:23:21Into the second half and Dundee started the brighter of the two sides
00:23:24and hit the woodwork again.
00:23:26Ashley Hay with the header.
00:23:28No luck so far for the striker.
00:23:32Kilmarnock desperate to double their lead
00:23:33and win their first match in 15 games,
00:23:36but John McCracken keeping his side in the fourth round
00:23:39with a smart save from Marcus Dakers.
00:23:47Dundee on the march once again
00:23:49and after two efforts already coming back off the woodwork,
00:23:52Ashley Hay finally got his goal, smashing the ball
00:23:55high and past Kelerus.
00:23:58The striker's third goal in four matches
00:24:01and certainly on a fine run of form.
00:24:03An emphatic finish.
00:24:051-1.
00:24:11An already action-packed match was ready for more drama.
00:24:14Jack Thompson already on a yellow card
00:24:16was given his marching orders from Colin Stephen
00:24:19after this tackle with ten minutes to play.
00:24:22A massive blow for the home side.
00:24:31Looking to make that advantage count,
00:24:33Stephen Presley's side looked for that all-important winner.
00:24:36This looping and hopeful ball from Jan Danda
00:24:38initially looked like an easy catch for Kelerus,
00:24:41but the on-loan keeper fumbled the ball
00:24:44and grey-right made him pay.
00:24:45A nightmare debut for the Dutchman
00:24:47and Dundee were on the verge of the fifth round.
00:24:5092 minutes on the clock and this corner provided a potential goal-scoring opportunity for Komarnak.
00:25:02However, Dundee defending well and were looking to counter.
00:25:06Simon Murray with this ball forward to Jan Danda.
00:25:09But Lewis Mayo with the challenge
00:25:11and Komarnak's afternoon would go from bad to worse.
00:25:15Another red card and that was the end of the action.
00:25:182-1 Dundee.
00:25:20We got a bit fortunate once or twice,
00:25:24but on the whole we worked so hard.
00:25:28And then that mistake there that's happened between Robbie and Keler
00:25:33is just one of the sore ones that I think you've just got to suck up and take.
00:25:37I'm really delighted that we managed to progress through this
00:25:40because it's a great cup competition.
00:25:42You know, we don't want to be watching the TV on a Saturday afternoon
00:25:46at other teams performing in it.
00:25:47We want to be part of that.
00:25:49And, you know, thankfully we found a way in the second half.
00:26:00There was a return to Fair Park for former Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell
00:26:04still fresh in the door at Ross County
00:26:06as he took charge of just his third game.
00:26:08And his side almost gifted Motherwell a goal early on
00:26:10when Tawanda Masunise pinched the ball.
00:26:12Alex Iacoviti back on the line to head away.
00:26:17County did create a few first half chances.
00:26:20The best of them arguably fell to Jamie Lindsay.
00:26:23He pinched the ball in the Motherwell half himself.
00:26:26His low effort saved by Matty Connolly.
00:26:28Jay Henderson quick on the follow-up.
00:26:30The offside flag up in any case.
00:26:35Into the second half and Motherwell's intricate play almost gave Tawanda Masunise another chance.
00:26:40His effort from the edge of the box glancing off Ibrahim Saeed.
00:26:45Trevor Carson getting down to make the save.
00:26:48But Motherwell kept up their pressure and eventually it told just after the hour mark.
00:26:53Ibrahim Saeed was blocked off.
00:26:55Fadinger had a go and it was deflected in off that man Tawanda Masunise.
00:27:01A third goal in three games since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.
00:27:05He scored there too for Zimbabwe.
00:27:08That's now 15 for the season in total.
00:27:11No wonder there's plenty of interest in Motherwell's form man.
00:27:14There were chances to double the lead.
00:27:19The best falling to Elijah Just.
00:27:21Trevor Carson equal to it.
00:27:27Despite Motherwell's dominance,
00:27:29Ross County did have one or two chances to try and get back into the game.
00:27:34The best of those falling to substitute Kieran Phillips at the back post.
00:27:38He swivelled and went for the top corner.
00:27:41Matthew Connolly able to produce a fine save.
00:27:44Keep his side in front and see them into the next round of the cup.
00:27:48I think we were in full control for most of the game.
00:27:53The few moments where we lost a little bit of control.
00:27:55Then Matty showed that he suits our team really, really well.
00:28:00Both in possession but also when he needs to pull off some really good saves.
00:28:04I think that we've got enough quality in the dressing room to execute
00:28:08not just the chances we created in the game slightly better
00:28:11but the middle third, our own third of the pitch.
00:28:14I think that we can look after the ball a wee bit better.
00:28:17It was one of the few all premiership affairs of the afternoon
00:28:25as Livingston hosted St Mirren.
00:28:2712th in the table versus 10th.
00:28:29But as we know, anything could happen in a cup game.
00:28:33And this was a Livingston side tour that would win in their last 20 games in all competitions.
00:28:38Desperate to change that today.
00:28:40It took the visitors just four minutes to open the scoring.
00:28:44Roland Udo.
00:28:45We found Jaden Richardson's cross to send the ball into the back of the net.
00:28:49The perfect start for Steven Robinson's men.
00:28:52An impressive team move for the opener.
00:28:55Livingston would quickly respond though.
00:28:58Just seven minutes later, a well-worked passage of play by the home side
00:29:02would eventually end up at the feet of new signing Scott Arfield
00:29:06who was there to poke at home past Shamal George.
00:29:12His first goal for his hometown club.
00:29:19St Mirren continued to apply the pressure as Jaden Richardson sent a looping cross into the box.
00:29:27But the on-running Ocean Smith was not able to get his shot on target.
00:29:32Into the second half, Livingston came close.
00:29:37But Robbie Muirhead's effort went straight into the hands of Shamal George.
00:29:42David Martindale's man threatened again with Conor McClennan's shot from the edge of the area
00:29:51collected yet again by the hands of Shamal George.
00:30:00The home side would continue to search for the winner.
00:30:03But Shamal George was quick off his line to thwart Stevie May.
00:30:08At the end of the game it remained 1-0.
00:30:20Extra time proved to be goalless and so into penalties this one went.
00:30:25It was disappointment for David Martindale as Jordan Bekela sent his penalty over the crossbar.
00:30:31And for the final spot kick it was up to Unferny Dykesdale to secure a place in the next round for St Mirren who won 4-3 on penalties.
00:30:44I thought we'd done a lot of good stuff in the game.
00:30:47Spoke to the players, we controlled a lot of the game, we created some good entries, some unlucky.
00:30:53But I just feel we need to be a wee bit more clinical at the top.
00:30:56Final third, we build the game, we get the ball there, it's controlled.
00:30:59We just need to take a wee bit more care.
00:31:01It's good to get the winning feeling back.
00:31:03For confidence you can see some of the decision making is a little bit timid.
00:31:07Sort of holding back, not wanting to make a mistake.
00:31:10And that happens when you're not winning football matches.
00:31:12So that's a brilliant turning point for us today.
00:31:15Yeah, it's a really entertaining match at Ammon Vale today.
00:31:18But at St Mirren to go through and Livy's awful run continues.
00:31:22More of that in a moment.
00:31:23But it's not a bad old time, Tim.
00:31:25I'm a Motherwell player, Stephen, is it?
00:31:26Yeah, no, definitely.
00:31:27I think another win.
00:31:29The manager made a few changes again.
00:31:31He touched on Matty Conley playing.
00:31:33And young Luka Ross was playing left back as well, which is a new position for him.
00:31:37So very good feeling around the club just now.
00:31:39Good home crowd as well.
00:31:41Ross County didn't bring too many down.
00:31:42Obviously a long trek.
00:31:44It's been a tough season for them.
00:31:45But hopefully Kettlewell can get them going because they have got some good players.
00:31:49They've got a good squad and I wouldn't like to see them going down.
00:31:52And as everybody knows, when you've got a striker that can't stop scoring,
00:31:55it makes life a lot easier, doesn't it?
00:31:57Look, I'd much prefer him to stop scoring in January.
00:31:59And he can start up again in February.
00:32:01But no, look, he's in really good form.
00:32:04He's sharp around the box.
00:32:05You see this one is just instinctive.
00:32:07He had a really good effort before, but he's a top talent and one we're fortunate
00:32:12that we've got tied down for a couple of seasons.
00:32:14I was interested too, Stephen, and the reaction from his teammates.
00:32:17I mean, that's a very genuine affection for him, isn't it?
00:32:20Yeah, no, look, we see how important he is.
00:32:22I think he's got a lot of goals for us this season.
00:32:24He went away and we were able to kind of keep continuing.
00:32:28The manager has got his style and is very kind of adaptive to what's available to him.
00:32:33And we play some good stuff.
00:32:35So, no, look, he's excelled this season and hopefully there's more to come the second half.
00:32:41Let's move on to Kilmarnock, Dundee, Craig.
00:32:43Kilmarnock finished with nine players and it's difficult.
00:32:48It's a tough job.
00:32:49And Neil McCann and Billy Dodge knew when they took the job it was going to be tough.
00:32:52They've not won since the 4th of October.
00:32:54Sorry, yeah, the 4th of October.
00:32:56So, it's been a long time.
00:32:58It's been far too long.
00:32:59And you have to rebuild confidence.
00:33:00You've got to try and get them going.
00:33:01You've got to try and get them going.
00:33:02They've got the ideal start because they've got to go ahead in the game.
00:33:04Sure.
00:33:05And you think to yourself, how are you going to manage this?
00:33:06But I've got to say, over the piece, Dundee were very good.
00:33:08They were very strong, very organised, created good chances.
00:33:10They looked like a side who have won four of their last five games.
00:33:13Yeah.
00:33:14And they did.
00:33:15The confidence was showing through.
00:33:16It wasn't like that at the start of the season.
00:33:17Sluggy start.
00:33:18It took me a while to get going.
00:33:19Now they've built up that momentum.
00:33:20I think over the piece, they definitely deserve to win.
00:33:22I'd agree they definitely did.
00:33:23And Dre Wright in the right place at the right time and late on.
00:33:26Well, when things are going against you as a Kilmarnock manager,
00:33:30then you have to say this is a dreadful goal to lose
00:33:32because you're not under any real danger.
00:33:34I know it doesn't seem a long time in life,
00:33:36but the ball's in the air for four seconds.
00:33:39The biggest issue here, communication.
00:33:41The two shouts it should have been from Kerala Roos, away or keepers.
00:33:45I think that alleviates any problems.
00:33:47And you can't underestimate how important it is
00:33:50to have a relationship between goalkeeper and defenders.
00:33:52He's just new into the club.
00:33:53Has he been a bit quiet?
00:33:55Does Robbie Dees not hear him?
00:33:56Does he not understand him?
00:33:57So the communication issue has effectively, unfortunately,
00:33:59knocked him out of the cup.
00:34:00Yeah.
00:34:01Horrible way to lose the game though, wasn't it?
00:34:03Actually, the Livy St Mirren game was one of the better games of the day.
00:34:06A thoroughly entertaining match.
00:34:07Yeah.
00:34:08Spoiled, perhaps, by some pretty awful penalties when it went to the shootout.
00:34:12Look, I think when it comes to penalties,
00:34:13it always becomes a lottery.
00:34:15And you've seen with the manager's reaction after that one.
00:34:17I don't think he was best pleased with it.
00:34:19But look, to have the courage to go up to hit a penalty at any stage in any game
00:34:24and then a penalty shootout, it takes a lot of courage.
00:34:27And I've been in that situation a few times myself.
00:34:29But I think what was most impressed was St Mirren's first goal.
00:34:32It was a really nice move, a really great ball from Killian Phillips
00:34:35and put across the goal and a good finish.
00:34:37It was a nice bit of quality so early in the game,
00:34:39but it was great, obviously, for entertainment value that Livingston can get back into it
00:34:44in our field after just signing and finishing well as he's done his full career.
00:34:49Yeah.
00:34:50St Mirren remain on course for a cup double.
00:34:52Well, no doubt about perhaps the most intriguing tie today.
00:34:55League Two strugglers, Elgin City's visit to the East of Scotland League, Camelyn Juniors,
00:35:01for whom this was their fifth tie of this season's Scottish Cup.
00:35:05Here's Michael Steele.
00:35:12The fourth round of the Scottish Cup and this is unknown territory for Camelyn Juniors.
00:35:17They're at home here today and they're in East of Scotland Premier Division side.
00:35:20That's the sixth tier of Scottish football.
00:35:22And they've already punched above their weight in the competition,
00:35:25beating lower than league side Albion Rovers and League Two Edinburgh City.
00:35:29And today they face another side from the fourth tier of Scottish football, Elgin City.
00:35:35We've only been a senior team since 2018.
00:35:38We reached the, I think it was the first round when we met Elgin a few years back.
00:35:45But absolutely, when you think of the history of the club,
00:35:48this is the biggest match of our history so far.
00:35:54It is an opportunity for us. We've got a home tie which we wanted.
00:35:57As I say, if we can get the results.
00:35:59There's so much for us to gain and very little to lose.
00:36:01You know, we've already created history this season by getting in this round
00:36:04in the first place.
00:36:05In an earlier round of the Scottish Cup,
00:36:07there was a huge scare for all connected with Camelyn Juniors
00:36:10as club captain Jason Walton suffered a seizure in the pre-match warm-up.
00:36:15Probably five minutes left of the warm-up.
00:36:17We're doing possession and I just, I just, like I've seen stars.
00:36:22Put my hand up, I need help.
00:36:24And I just fell and hit the ground and obviously had a seizure.
00:36:27Had he even come back from that mentally?
00:36:29The doctor said seven weeks.
00:36:31So I think it was the first of September.
00:36:33I think it was the third of September or something.
00:36:35I couldn't go back.
00:36:36But mentally, I was fine.
00:36:39I didn't have stuff like I deserve to bother me.
00:36:41I just like it all in my life.
00:36:42But I'm fine now.
00:36:45Within the group, we've always believed in myself.
00:36:47We've got a really good squad here and we're doing well in the league.
00:36:49And it's just a whole good factor around the club.
00:36:52Do you know what I mean?
00:36:53So there's always that relief there.
00:36:54So it doesn't matter who we're really playing.
00:36:56As long as we go and do what we're capable of, we can do it.
00:37:01Despite two leagues separating the sides,
00:37:03there wasn't too much between them in the opening quarter of an hour.
00:37:06That was until the strike from Kane Hester.
00:37:12His effort finding the back of the net.
00:37:14And that was the strikers eighth of the season.
00:37:19Apart from the goal, chances were few and far between in the first half.
00:37:22However, an opportunity arose here for Cameland.
00:37:25The ball breaking to Jordan Kirkpatrick.
00:37:27And he manages to give himself a yard
00:37:29to slot the ball past keeper Tom Ritchie.
00:37:35However, it was soon evident after his goal
00:37:37that the midfielder's afternoon was over.
00:37:39Injuring himself in the process.
00:37:41And despite the concerns for Kirkpatrick on the pitch,
00:37:44the home crowd certainly were enjoying the moment.
00:37:47And not a bad replacement to put on at this crucial stage.
00:37:51Club captain, Jason Walton.
00:37:56Into the second half then.
00:37:57And any fans dreaming of another cup upset for Cameland juniors
00:38:00were dealt a huge blow.
00:38:02The initial free kick not properly cleared
00:38:04for the Cameland back line.
00:38:05And the opportunity eventually came to Kane Hester.
00:38:08Who controlled the ball well and happily lashed the ball into the goal
00:38:12to put the Highlanders back into the lead.
00:38:15Back came Cameland juniors.
00:38:20And after some determined play from Cameron Rowley,
00:38:23Jack Breen had this effort saved by keeper Tom Ritchie.
00:38:27The final quarter of an hour with Cameland pushing for an equaliser.
00:38:34But the result was put beyond any doubt.
00:38:36Initially thought to have been scored by Mark Gallagher,
00:38:38it was in fact a Lucas Williamson own goal.
00:38:41Cameland, one. Elgin City, three.
00:38:45Well, firstly I think we've got to take pride in the fact
00:38:48of what we've done this season in terms of getting to this round
00:38:51in the Scottish Cup.
00:38:52We've taken these fans on some great trips,
00:38:54gave them some great memories.
00:38:56I think the more occasions we can give these fans games like this,
00:39:00then this club will just continue to grow.
00:39:02And that's what we want to do.
00:39:03We want to continue to grow.
00:39:04And this is a step forward for us.
00:39:06We've obviously came up against a very good Elgin side
00:39:08and they've beat us on the day.
00:39:10But I'm not going to take anything away for those players in that dressing room.
00:39:13We've done our homework and we've watched a lot of them.
00:39:16And you've got to come to places like this and earn it.
00:39:18And if you can't play your way out,
00:39:20then you've got to battle your way out.
00:39:21So that was the message that we had to get the basics right.
00:39:25We had to minimalise errors.
00:39:27We had to try and control the crowd
00:39:29and not let them get too involved.
00:39:32And, you know, ultimately when we got the chance to execute,
00:39:34we had to go and do so.
00:39:35And I thought certainly in the second half we did.
00:39:37A little blip near the end of the first half.
00:39:40But I think the players responded well
00:39:42and ultimately carried out their orders.
00:39:45Yes, I do remember for Elgin City.
00:39:47We talked at the very top of the programme
00:39:49about the magic of this weekend and the Scottish Cup, Stephen.
00:39:52And that summed it up at Cameland today, didn't it?
00:39:55It did.
00:39:56And as much as Tom Scobie said he was pleased with his team,
00:39:59I think deep down when they looked at this fixture,
00:40:02they thought we've got a realistic chance of getting through.
00:40:04Sure.
00:40:05You know, they had beat Johnston Burr,
00:40:06they beat Albion Rovers from the Nolan League,
00:40:08they beat Edinburgh City in League Two.
00:40:09So they thought, OK, Elgin City is just slightly above Edinburgh City.
00:40:12I think Elgin coming into it said they had a win.
00:40:15So they were a bit tentative, they were a bit nervous
00:40:17and they thought they could get the better off them.
00:40:19So I think Elgin deserve an awful lot of credit.
00:40:21They come down, go to a tough venue away from home
00:40:23when the crowd are against you a little bit.
00:40:25They dig something out.
00:40:26I think that will certainly please them.
00:40:27Yeah.
00:40:28And how excited will they be tomorrow, Stevie,
00:40:30in the Cup draw as a Division Two side or a League Two side?
00:40:33Yeah, look, of course.
00:40:34And obviously I think they'll fancy having a go at anyone up in Elgin.
00:40:38It's a tough place to go.
00:40:39I know obviously they've got the win away from home,
00:40:41but we played them two seasons ago in the League Cup
00:40:44and it is, it's a tough place to go.
00:40:46It's a long journey and nobody will fancy going up.
00:40:49So it's a massive kind of, even if they get a big team as well.
00:40:52Are you telling me they'd prefer a home draw
00:40:54rather than a big money maker against a bigger game?
00:40:56Look, I think if you ask the players...
00:40:58The players might.
00:40:59Yeah, of course.
00:41:00But I can imagine the board will be thinking,
00:41:01let's get ourselves to Ibrox or Celtic Park
00:41:03or somewhere else to go.
00:41:05Celtic's obviously won already, Joe.
00:41:09We'll talk about that later.
00:41:11All right.
00:41:12League leaders' hearts, even at home tonight,
00:41:13would not be expecting anything other than a tough challenge
00:41:16from John McGlynn's increasingly impressive Falkirk.
00:41:19Thomas Duncan was at Time Castle tonight.
00:41:21For a long time, the Scottish Cup has been hearts most likely
00:41:24and most coveted source of silverware.
00:41:26But this is no normal season and the Premiership leaders
00:41:28could be forgiven for their focus being elsewhere.
00:41:30It can't afford to be tonight, though,
00:41:32against informed Falkirk who are having a great year
00:41:34in the Premiership in their own rights.
00:41:36Hearts are still reeling from the blow of losing Cammy Devlin
00:41:50for up to two months.
00:41:51Bennett McInnes brings Alexander Schfolo back in goal in place
00:41:54of Craig Gordon.
00:41:55Kent, McCart, Altena and Magnussen are the other changes
00:41:59from the win over St Mirren.
00:42:01Well, Falkirk were unlucky to lose to Celtic on Wednesday night
00:42:05until John McGlynn makes just the one change.
00:42:08Henry Cartwright replaces Cariel Wilson, who drops to the bench.
00:42:14Here is McCann, into Stewart.
00:42:16Bounces it off his striker.
00:42:18And Leon McCann goes for goal, padded by Schfolo.
00:42:22And then Frankie Kent, unconvincing with the clearance,
00:42:24still alive for Falkirk.
00:42:26And then Kent goes down.
00:42:28And it's nice play from Leon McCann.
00:42:30And he didn't have many other options but to take on the strike.
00:42:33And it looked like it was hitting the target.
00:42:35And Schfolo felt he couldn't hold it.
00:42:37Beningemi.
00:42:40Good touch from Harry Milne.
00:42:42Now Kisaridis.
00:42:44Milne on the underlapping run.
00:42:46And then the low cross of the front post is left by Braga.
00:42:49And Magnussen could only prod it wide.
00:42:53And that's a real chance for Hartz.
00:42:56Excellent play.
00:42:57Milne turns on the afterburners.
00:42:59And a well-judged leave by Braga at the front post as well.
00:43:02Magnussen.
00:43:08Challenge for it.
00:43:10And he was fouled in the process by McCann.
00:43:19Altina.
00:43:21High and into the box.
00:43:22Flicked on.
00:43:23Magnussen's lurking.
00:43:24And still.
00:43:25And there's the opening goal.
00:43:30Thomas Magnussen makes it two and two for Hartz.
00:43:36And he breaks the deadlock early in the second period in this Scottish Cup tie.
00:43:41And Magnussen has a pretty simple task in the end.
00:43:45To put the Premiership leaders in front in this fourth round tie.
00:43:50Falkirk claiming it may have hit Thomas Magnussen's arm, I think.
00:43:58Nick Walsh waits for the verdict.
00:44:06Handball against Thomas Magnussen.
00:44:09And it brushes his arm according to the officials.
00:44:16And Hartz thought they had the breakthrough.
00:44:19But it's back to square one.
00:44:29Good play by Lissa, this.
00:44:30Gets the byline, it's in!
00:44:32It's the new signing, Parkinson.
00:44:33With his first Falkirk goal.
00:44:34In front of a bouncing away end.
00:44:35At Towncastle.
00:44:36In the Scottish Cup.
00:44:37What a moment for him.
00:44:38What a moment for Falkirk.
00:44:39Lissa.
00:44:40Too quick.
00:44:41And he's got the composure to match.
00:44:42And it is a brilliant finish.
00:44:43Judged perfectly.
00:44:44As Parkinson slides in.
00:44:45And the school end at Towncastle is absolutely jumping now.
00:44:54Henderson waits for the pressure from Shanklin before moving it to Bain.
00:44:57Bain.
00:44:58Sends it long.
00:44:59Oh, and it's a poor header.
00:45:00And it's going to fall here for Parkinson.
00:45:01And he can't do it again.
00:45:02A much harder finish.
00:45:03His face tells you he thinks he could have at the top of it.
00:45:04And it's going to fall here for Parkinson.
00:45:05And it's going to fall here for Parkinson.
00:45:06And he can't do it again.
00:45:07A much harder finish.
00:45:08His face tells you he thinks he could have at the top of it.
00:45:09And he can get turned in.
00:45:10And he looks it.
00:45:11Offload it to Spital.
00:45:12And he's got the ball from Shanklin.
00:45:13And he's got the ball from Shanklin before moving it to Bain.
00:45:14Bain.
00:45:15Sends it long.
00:45:16Oh, and it's a poor header.
00:45:17And it's going to fall here for Parkinson.
00:45:18And he can't do it again.
00:45:19A much harder finish.
00:45:20His face tells you he thinks he could have at least hit the target there.
00:45:25And made Folo work.
00:45:26Misjudgment at the back from Hearts.
00:45:28Beningami.
00:45:29To Milne.
00:45:30Milne fires it in.
00:45:31It bounces for Shanklin.
00:45:32Can he get turned in?
00:45:33And he looks it.
00:45:34Offload it to Spital.
00:45:35He wants a penalty.
00:45:36Nick Walsh unmoved.
00:45:37That's a brilliant pass for Milne.
00:45:38Milne.
00:45:39With space to cross.
00:45:40Puts it across.
00:45:41Goal.
00:45:42And Scott Bain with a significant touch away.
00:45:43And this was Shanklin trying to feed it to Blair Spital.
00:45:44Is that an infringement?
00:45:45Is it just a coming together?
00:45:46Is it just a coming together?
00:45:47Oh!
00:45:48Oh!
00:45:49Oh!
00:45:50Oh!
00:45:51Oh!
00:45:52Oh!
00:45:53Oh!
00:45:54Oh!
00:45:55Oh!
00:45:56Oh!
00:45:57Oh!
00:45:58Oh!
00:45:59Oh!
00:46:00Oh!
00:46:01Oh!
00:46:02Oh!
00:46:03Oh!
00:46:04Oh!
00:46:05Myself!
00:46:07Milne.
00:46:08What a pass that is for Chechnikov.
00:46:09Off his thigh, breaks back to him.
00:46:11And Mccann goes in!
00:46:12Penalty ourts!
00:46:13And it's the debutant, Chechnikov, who's done the damage.
00:46:18Got the better of Liam Mccann.
00:46:20Such a fortune with a break of the ball.
00:46:22And Mccann with a desperate lunge.
00:46:26Just so desperate to stop Islam Chechnikov.
00:46:29It is the captain against Scott Bain, Shanklin takes a deep breath.
00:46:38And scores! Lauren Shanklins gives Towncastle life and gives Harts hope again in the Scottish Cup.
00:46:48Five minutes left and he rattles in his 15th goal of the season from the penalty spot.
00:46:54Bain.
00:46:59Finlay heads it to Magnussen who stumbles and it allows Miller to come forward,
00:47:04he gets a strike away and Swolo has to tip the ball wide of his goal.
00:47:10Did everything right really. The goalkeeper with a good stop.
00:47:15Inside ball looking for Milne, doesn't come off.
00:47:18And now a little chance for Falkirk to break as Adams plays it inside, given away by Forrester.
00:47:25An advantage now being played to Falkirk in a messy period of play.
00:47:28But the upshot is for Falkirk, it's Leon McCann with a dangerous ball and it drops for Marsh!
00:47:33Straight to Swolo and the challenge goes in.
00:47:36And Harts get it away.
00:47:40Beningame went in, put his body on the line.
00:47:43What a chance that was for Falkirk to potentially win it.
00:47:48We're headed for penalties.
00:47:51Derek McInnes and John McGlynn shake hands.
00:47:54Kabangu, the pressure mounts.
00:48:00Skies it.
00:48:07It's a horror penalty from Elton Kabangu.
00:48:11And Harts blink first in the shootout.
00:48:15Can Swolo keep Harts in it?
00:48:21Is Parkinson the hero?
00:48:25He is!
00:48:29Falkirk are going through to the fifth round of the Scottish Cup.
00:48:34They have stunned the Premiership leaders at Tincastle.
00:48:40And this dream season that John McGlynn's Bairns are having just keeps getting better.
00:48:48Delighted for everyone at the football club.
00:48:50It's a huge task, huge challenge coming here tonight against a rampant Harts who have been winning games with ten men.
00:48:58So, quite delighted to be in the draw.
00:49:01Can't wait, looking forward to that tomorrow.
00:49:03Disappointed with the goal.
00:49:04It was chopped off.
00:49:05If the referee chops that off because he sees something in an open player,
00:49:08I'm not sure if VAR should get involved in it.
00:49:10I don't see, from the angle I've seen, an obvious handball there.
00:49:14Like I said, I've only seen it from the one angle.
00:49:16So, maybe VAR have seen it from this stand side here.
00:49:19Because I think only definitively can you tell if it's handball from the left hand stand here.
00:49:24But I thought that was harsh.
00:49:27I need to say that.
00:49:30Well, quite a cup time.
00:49:32First half, nothing exceptional.
00:49:34But all the actions seem to come in the second half and indeed into extra time.
00:49:38Derek McInnes clearly not happy with that disallowed goal.
00:49:41Let's take a look and see whether he's got a case.
00:49:45What do you think?
00:49:46I understand his frustration because the first thing that jumps out, it's clearly not deliberate.
00:49:50VAR has to get involved because it looks at every goal.
00:49:53So, it has to break it down, build up play, attack and face the play.
00:49:57It has to look for it all again.
00:49:59From here, you can't really see it.
00:50:01But you cannot assist yourself for a goal whether it's intentional or accidental with a handball.
00:50:07And we do get a better look at it.
00:50:09We'll see it from this angle.
00:50:10You just see the right hand.
00:50:11It just hits off his wrist.
00:50:13His hand's on the back of Dylan Tate and it bounces off.
00:50:16It gives an assist to him.
00:50:17And I think it's a very good intervention by VAR.
00:50:20As frustration as there is, it's because it's not deliberate.
00:50:23And that's what Derek...
00:50:24I think that will be the argument actually.
00:50:26It's exactly what VAR's been brought in to do.
00:50:28When you see something that's been missed, completely very hard.
00:50:32You've seen a couple of camera angles and it's not definite.
00:50:34That final one is 100% not a goal.
00:50:37Sure.
00:50:38By the laws of the game, yes.
00:50:40No stand Derek McInnes.
00:50:41Frustration, obviously.
00:50:43Ben Parkinson, it was quite a day for the Falkirk striker.
00:50:46A Falkirk player, rather.
00:50:48Let's take a look at the goal which put Falkirk in front.
00:50:52Well, do you know what?
00:50:53That incident actually brought the game to life.
00:50:55Yes.
00:50:56That Langdison goal being disallowed brought up to life.
00:50:58And this is the bit where I think Derek McInnes might be slightly disappointed.
00:51:01He's in deep in his own half.
00:51:02And I just wonder, can Craig Halkirk shut off that ball coming across the goal?
00:51:06Because he doesn't know where anyone else is behind him.
00:51:08So I always think, if you're the first defender, cut off the ball coming across your six yard line.
00:51:12And then the ball has to be pulled back and that responsibility goes to someone else.
00:51:15It's a free ball then, but you've got to say, good proactive centre forward play.
00:51:19Gets himself in, Ben Parkinson, and it's a nice tidy finish.
00:51:21Maybe some slight disappointment from Altena.
00:51:23Not tucking in and allowing him to get across the face.
00:51:26But yeah, it was good, positive attacking play.
00:51:30Yeah, well that wasn't the only controversial moment.
00:51:33The disallowed goal, because watching this game earlier tonight,
00:51:37I think all three of us thought, that's got a penalty here.
00:51:40I was sure of it.
00:51:41Yes, I'm not sure how intentional it was, but I know the ball doesn't land at Spittle.
00:51:46But he's clipped, he's eyes on the ball, flicks his heel.
00:51:50I don't know.
00:51:51I think that's a stonewaller and I'd be fuming if it was a penalty.
00:51:55You're stopping a player.
00:51:56You're stopping a player potentially getting onto the ball and having a shot.
00:51:58If I was Derek McInnes, I think I'd be more frustrated with that one.
00:52:01That one, yeah.
00:52:02Because I think that's clear that it should be a penalty kick.
00:52:04And that's one, we've praised the refereeing team and the VAR team.
00:52:07I think there has to be an intervention there for a penalty kick.
00:52:09Yeah, I think we'd all agree on that one.
00:52:12So looking good for Falkirk until what was it?
00:52:14Three, four minutes from the end.
00:52:16And then this happened.
00:52:18Well, at this stage, it was a wave after wave of attack.
00:52:23Hearts were pushing on.
00:52:24Falkirk were standing up and trying to carry the fight.
00:52:27Chesnikov, he was lively when he came on.
00:52:29I just think he's very experienced.
00:52:31Look at how he puts his body.
00:52:32He puts his body right onto Leon McCannan.
00:52:34The only thing he can do is go to the ground and try and make the tackle.
00:52:36He has to touch the ball.
00:52:37He doesn't.
00:52:38And I think it's a clear penalty kick, no doubt about it.
00:52:40It's true for McCannan in this situation because he's probably reacting to, not a mistake, but the ricochet.
00:52:46He's probably frustrated that the ricochets went in the winger's favour.
00:52:50Chesnikov's got onto it and showed some great experience getting his body across.
00:52:53But in those situations, you don't want the penalty to be taken by anyone else other than Lauren Shanklin.
00:52:59A good penalty under pressure with a few minutes to go.
00:53:02So another penalty shootout then.
00:53:05And in the end, it came down to, as it always does, one miss and one score.
00:53:10Yeah, well, someone normally a penalty shootout is going to be a villain.
00:53:13And unfortunately, it's Kabangu.
00:53:15You know, we talk about lotteries of penalty kicks, but I think if you practice continually,
00:53:20at least then you're more set on what you're trying to do.
00:53:22So I think there's a skill behind it.
00:53:24Clearly the pressure side of it isn't, but striking the ball, hitting the spot.
00:53:27If you miss the target completely like Kabangu has done then,
00:53:30I think that's up to yourself to go and try and work on that in the future.
00:53:33Yeah, so the league leaders go out of the cup.
00:53:35And I know some of the Harts fans will be consoling themselves tonight
00:53:38with that old cliche, we can concentrate in the league now.
00:53:42Yeah, I think at Harts just now, they've obviously had a great season so far.
00:53:46Disappointing in the two cups now, but it's looking exciting.
00:53:51Three, four months run in now.
00:53:53So let's see what the old firm say and ourselves
00:53:56and anyone else that wants to try and compete in Scotland.
00:54:00Yeah, maybe even including Motherwell.
00:54:02Hopefully.
00:54:03All right then, three more of today's matches coming up for you now.
00:54:07Beginning with League One leader Stennis Muir facing Morton from the Championship
00:54:11under their new manager Ian Murray.
00:54:13Well, despite their higher league status, Greenock Morton faced a tricky away tie
00:54:25to high-flying Stennis Muir of League One.
00:54:28But the Championship Club nearly opened the scoring early on.
00:54:31Eamon Brophy's effort not quite managing to find the right side of the post.
00:54:36Well, Morton with the best effort in the early exchanges,
00:54:38but it was Stennis Muir who took the lead in this fourth round tie.
00:54:42Nicky Jamieson, plagued by injuries in recent seasons,
00:54:45but is certainly enjoying his football now.
00:54:48That's three goals in all three matches in 2026.
00:54:52Morton responded well after going behind
00:54:57and after some quick play between Moffat, Brophy and then O'Halloran
00:55:01were awarded this penalty.
00:55:03A huge chance then to equalise for the away side
00:55:07and responsibility fell to Eamon Brophy.
00:55:09However, his effort was saved and well held by Darren Jamieson.
00:55:13Frustrating times for Morton's new boss, Ian Murray.
00:55:16And just on half-time, Stennis Muir doubled their lead.
00:55:21Kinley Billam with a corner into the box and a fine header,
00:55:24guided to the back post from Stennis number nine, Matty Aitken.
00:55:33So a disappointing opening 45 from Greenock Morton in terms of the scoreline,
00:55:37but they responded well in the second period.
00:55:39This chance nearly falling to two of their players at the back post.
00:55:42That was followed by this header from Cameron Blues.
00:55:46And then a chance for Aaron Lyle, still not finding the back of the net.
00:55:54After surviving that early second-half onslaught from Morton,
00:55:58Stennis Muir once again fancied their chances from a set piece.
00:56:01A free kick this time, but a similar outcome,
00:56:03and it was captain Gregor Buchanan with the finish.
00:56:07Kept alive there by Nicky Jamieson.
00:56:123-0 and all goals coming from set pieces.
00:56:14But into the final ten minutes,
00:56:16a long ball up the park from Stennis keeper Darren Jameson,
00:56:19eventually falling to Matty Aitken,
00:56:21who scores this chance and scores his second of the match.
00:56:25The league one side triumph against their championship opponents.
00:56:29Stenhouse Muir forward, Greenock Morton nil.
00:56:324-0 probably flattered us if I'm being honest,
00:56:35but we're playing against a team for a higher division,
00:56:37and it was going to be difficult to win 1-0,
00:56:40but to actually win 4-0 says a lot about where the players are just now.
00:56:44There are three goals from set plays.
00:56:47We need to be braver, we need to be more aggressive,
00:56:49we need to go and compete and have body contact with the opposition,
00:56:52and on today's evidence we're not willing to do that.
00:56:54So we need to go away, work incredibly hard on the training pitch.
00:56:58As I said, if you're going to lose a game of football,
00:57:00there's ways to lose it.
00:57:01Today is not the way to lose a game of football.
00:57:03We've got exactly what we deserved.
00:57:0815 places separates these two teams
00:57:10as Championship side Partick Thistle hosted League One to Montrose.
00:57:14It took Tony Watt just ten minutes to get his side in front
00:57:18after Patrick Redding crossed the ball into a busy box
00:57:21where Watt was there to head it into the bottom left corner.
00:57:25Minutes into the second half,
00:57:27Logan Chalmers sent a short corner into the box
00:57:30and Tony Watt was there yet again
00:57:32for his second of the afternoon.
00:57:35Late into the second half,
00:57:37Chalmers was shown a second yellow
00:57:39and sent off for a tackle on Blair Lyons.
00:57:46With Partick Thistle down to ten men
00:57:48and just minutes left of the 90,
00:57:50Montrose managed to pull one back
00:57:52after 17-year-old Tommy North
00:57:54fired it into the back of the net from ten yards out.
00:57:59The game wasn't done there though.
00:58:01Montrose also went down to ten men
00:58:03after substitute Terry Mason was shown a second yellow
00:58:06for a challenge on Ben Stanway.
00:58:08And with minutes to go, substitute Rico Dayak broke away
00:58:13and fired it past Camigil to secure Partick Thistle's spot
00:58:15in the next round of the Scottish Cup.
00:58:17It looked like it was going to be a comfortable day and the traffic was going in one direction
00:58:24and then a crazy red card, double booting and it kind of ruins the day.
00:58:30Typical cup game, couple of sending offs, a few goals, so yeah, overall pleased with the performance.
00:58:35Never happy to lose a game, but if you're going to lose in the manor,
00:58:37today's probably the way you want to lose a game.
00:58:39Today's probably the way you want to lose a game.
00:58:40Today's probably the way you want to lose a game.
00:58:42It was an all-championship affair at the Excelsior as Airdrioni and Sosedar Broth,
00:58:47who went in as favourites thanks to their superb season so far,
00:58:49currently sitting third in the table.
00:58:51But it was the hosts who struck first, exchanging some nice interplay
00:58:54before Ewan Henderson tucked in his tidy finish.
00:58:56Arbroth hit back in the second half though,
00:58:58another former heart striker on the score sheet,
00:59:00when Gavin Riley thundered this effort.
00:59:01It was an all-championship affair at the Excelsior
00:59:03as Airdrioni and Sosedar Broth,
00:59:04who went in as favourites thanks to their superb season so far,
00:59:06currently sitting third in the table.
00:59:08But it was the hosts who struck first,
00:59:10exchanging some nice interplay before Ewan Henderson
00:59:12tucked in his tidy finish.
00:59:14Arbroth hit back in the second half though,
00:59:17another former heart striker on the score sheet,
00:59:19when Gavin Riley thundered this effort home.
00:59:23The hosts would make it 2-1,
00:59:25and it was that man again, Ewan Henderson.
00:59:30Sent clear through on goal, he tried to hold off the defender,
00:59:33but was eventually brought down for a penalty.
00:59:39Dusting himself off.
00:59:42He slotted away the spot kick,
00:59:44his 15th goal of the season.
00:59:46Arbroth hit back again.
00:59:49This time it was Tom Beadling who tried from distance.
00:59:55His strike taking a wicked deflection to wrong foot goalkeeper Harry Stone,
00:59:59parity restored.
01:00:01And it almost got even better for the visitors
01:00:04when they thought they'd secured a late winner.
01:00:06Robbing the ball off Dean McMaster at the back,
01:00:08Tom Beadling was adjudged to have fouled the Airdrie midfielder,
01:00:11before Findlay Marshall tucked in what he thought was a winner.
01:00:15Into extra time we went, and once again,
01:00:17it was the Airdrie-onians who opened the goal scoring.
01:00:20Ewan Henderson this time setting up Cole McKinnon,
01:00:23who squared for McMaster,
01:00:25and he tucked away this finish.
01:00:27But again Arbroth would hit back.
01:00:29Keen to avoid a minor upset.
01:00:32Scott Stewart leapt highest to level the score with his header,
01:00:36courtesy of another big deflection.
01:00:38The hosts thought they had the 7th goal of the game,
01:00:43and a late winner for themselves when Ewan Henderson
01:00:45tucked this one in for his hat-trick.
01:00:47But the offside flag denied him.
01:00:49So to penalties, and Craig Watson saw this effort saved by Harry Stone.
01:00:56Up stepped Dean McMaster to send Airdrie to the fifth round
01:01:00in their third consecutive season.
01:01:02My overall reaction is I'm 34, I feel about 54 after that game.
01:01:06Good one for the neutral.
01:01:08Topsy is turning for us at the side,
01:01:10but just delighted to get through.
01:01:12Stennis Muir, Paddock Thistle and Airdrionians
01:01:16go into tomorrow afternoon's draw.
01:01:19Here's a question for you then, Craig.
01:01:21Which was the bigger upset?
01:01:22We love a cup shot.
01:01:23Was it Dunfermline beating Hibs,
01:01:25or was it Stennis Muir beating Martin?
01:01:28Oh, do you know what?
01:01:29You would probably say it's Dunfermline against Hibs,
01:01:32just because of the financial gulf, I think,
01:01:34that Hibs, you know, with the infrastructure
01:01:36and the resources they have.
01:01:38What do Wood says though,
01:01:39for the other one for Stenhouse Muir,
01:01:40it's a really good gauge.
01:01:41They're sitting top of League One.
01:01:43So it's a really good gauge for them,
01:01:44looking at Morton, to think,
01:01:45if we are to get promoted,
01:01:46I think for the first time in their history,
01:01:48above League One,
01:01:50to get themselves into the championship,
01:01:51that's the highest they'd ever be up.
01:01:52Then they're looking and thinking,
01:01:53will you compete at that level?
01:01:54They would have to get some more players in.
01:01:56But you look at the job that Guy Naismith's doing,
01:01:58and you think to yourself,
01:01:59why are other clubs not having a little nibble?
01:02:01Clubs further up the football pyramid.
01:02:02Surely you look at someone with that experience,
01:02:04the job he's done at Stenhouse Muir,
01:02:05winning their first league title,
01:02:06now sitting top of League One,
01:02:08potentially getting into the championship,
01:02:09I know we're getting carried away a little bit,
01:02:11but he's done a brilliant job,
01:02:12and today was a testament to him.
01:02:14Did they deserve to win 4-0?
01:02:15No.
01:02:16Did they deserve to win?
01:02:17I think they probably did.
01:02:18Certainly whenever I finished the game today,
01:02:21and I'm scrolling through the results,
01:02:23the 4-0 was the one that caught my eye,
01:02:25because it's an upset,
01:02:26and it looked ridiculous,
01:02:28obviously when you see the chances,
01:02:30and Morton had a few,
01:02:32it maybe wasn't as dominant as what the scoreline would have suggested,
01:02:36but certainly a good cup shock.
01:02:38Yeah, and Thistle going through with the help of two Tony Watt goals,
01:02:42he's scored a few important goals in his time.
01:02:44He has, and I think he didn't have a club in the summer,
01:02:47Patrick Thistle took him on,
01:02:48and Mark Wilson's getting the best out of him,
01:02:50and Thistle had a tough week,
01:02:51because they'd lost against Ross County last Friday up in Dingwall,
01:02:54they'd lost against Inverness in the KDN Trophy,
01:02:57so they're thinking right,
01:02:58this is a big game for them today,
01:02:59this is one they had to go and win comfortably,
01:03:01and I think they did.
01:03:03Yeah, and the highest scoring match today in fact
01:03:05was Airdrie Onions against our Broth's six goals,
01:03:09and in the end, another penalty shootout,
01:03:11and it's Airdrie who go through.
01:03:12Let's move on.
01:03:13Our final two matches from today then,
01:03:15high-flying Spartans, top of League Two,
01:03:18against another side having a good season,
01:03:20Inverness Cally Thistle second in League One,
01:03:22with games in hand.
01:03:24And that's followed by two sides at the wrong end of League One,
01:03:26Kelty Hearts and Cove Rangers.
01:03:29This was a clash of two promotion-chasing clubs,
01:03:36as League Two leaders Spartans hosted second in League One,
01:03:39Inverness Caledonia and Thistle.
01:03:41Now the visitors threatened first,
01:03:43with Paddy Martin there to head the ball half clear,
01:03:46Billy McKay took the rebound,
01:03:48but Ayrton Sonker ensured the visitors did not take an early lead.
01:03:54Cally Thistle came close again,
01:03:56as Danny Devine sent the ball to Billy McKay,
01:03:58whose effort was stopped by the right hand of that man yet again,
01:04:02Paddy Martin.
01:04:04Things started to heat up in the second half,
01:04:06Inverness threatened again,
01:04:08this time substitute Adam McKinnon's shot was tipped just over the bar.
01:04:15The home side finally started to look dangerous,
01:04:18but James Cregan's half volley found the crossbar.
01:04:22Minutes later,
01:04:28Louis Longstaff would do the same,
01:04:30as his header was turned onto the bar,
01:04:32by Martin before being cleared.
01:04:34Well just minutes before the 90 was up,
01:04:38substitute Jordan O'Longhi headed the ball into the net,
01:04:42but it was disappointment for the visitors,
01:04:46as it was flagged for offside.
01:04:50So into extra time,
01:04:52this game would go.
01:04:54Now neither side managed to cause any real upset,
01:04:58and so penalties is how this one would be decided.
01:05:02Paddy Martin,
01:05:04man of the match, would come up with not one,
01:05:06but two big penalty saves,
01:05:08first stopping David Waterspoon and then Shanka Zimba.
01:05:12Mackenzie Nair was there to score the last,
01:05:16to send Spartans through to the next round of the Scottish Cup,
01:05:20winning 4-2 on penalties.
01:05:28Obviously they had the game on Tuesday,
01:05:30so Ellie our goalie coach went up and watched,
01:05:32and obviously a few penalties that they had,
01:05:34I think a couple of them went the same way,
01:05:36so it was good research from Ellie,
01:05:38so I've got to give him his props on that one,
01:05:40I've got a feeling on them, it was just, yeah, it's brilliant isn't it?
01:05:42As a group, you know, collectively,
01:05:44everybody gave everything today,
01:05:46so I'm absolutely thrilled, thrilled for everybody.
01:05:48Listen, I thought we've controlled most of the game,
01:05:50and that sort of thing, but listen, it's cup football,
01:05:52you need to take your chances,
01:05:54and today we've not taken them.
01:06:00It was a meeting between the two bottom sides
01:06:02in League One at New Central Park,
01:06:04Cove won 5-2 in their most recent clash,
01:06:06but it was Kelty who had the first shot at goal,
01:06:08when Luke McCarville fired this shot from distance.
01:06:12But it was Cove Rangers who would end up taking the lead,
01:06:14Chris Maguire, yes, that Chris Maguire,
01:06:16managed to slide Mitch Megenson through on goal,
01:06:18and there's usually only one result when that happens.
01:06:22The Cove hero still scoring goals at the grand old age of 33.
01:06:28The scores would be levelled up in the second half,
01:06:34when Justin Eguyebor put into his own net,
01:06:37after a mix-up between him and goalkeeper Robbie Mutch.
01:06:40And Pettifer got the paudits for the assist,
01:06:43when the Cove defender won't want to see back.
01:06:46Into extra time in Cove had a chance for the winner,
01:06:50when David Eguyebor, brother of Justin,
01:06:52went through on goal,
01:06:54but he fluffed his lines at the vital moment.
01:07:02Further back in the play though,
01:07:04things were all getting a little bit heated.
01:07:06Once Daniel McFarlane, the referee,
01:07:10was able to split things up,
01:07:12Craig Clay saw a second yellow card,
01:07:14and was sent off,
01:07:16Kelty went down to ten.
01:07:18On to penalties,
01:07:20and it got worse for David Eguyebor,
01:07:22as he skied his effort over the bar.
01:07:28That gave defender Sam Fisher the chance to win it for Kelty Harts.
01:07:32And he duly obliged,
01:07:34allowing the Fife side to reach the fifth round,
01:07:36for only the second time in the club's history.
01:07:40It's a welcome break away from the league action,
01:07:46and for the club to progress in the next round,
01:07:48we know it's massive.
01:07:50Financially,
01:07:52it gives the squad a big lift,
01:07:54and hopefully in the next round,
01:07:56we can get a glamour tie to help the club.
01:07:58Two more matches going to extra time,
01:08:01and a penalty shootout.
01:08:02Five in total today,
01:08:04which is quite surprising,
01:08:06but all credit to the two winners there, Craig.
01:08:08I mean, great performance.
01:08:10I've got to say, Spartans are a great story.
01:08:12You know, coming from London League football
01:08:14into League Two,
01:08:16sitting top of League Two.
01:08:18Dougie Samuel's been there, I think, for thirteen and a half years,
01:08:20and they're just ever edging closer to try and get themselves
01:08:22into those promotion places to kick on.
01:08:24Sitting top of League Two already.
01:08:26Again, that's a good gauge from Imbra Nessa.
01:08:28Bob Imbra Nessa are a good side.
01:08:30They play really good football.
01:08:32And win the game.
01:08:33You know, financially, they'll be thinking,
01:08:34right, where's the Luka Roof draw?
01:08:36Where are we going to go next?
01:08:37That club is just going on an upward trajectory.
01:08:39So, Spartans and Elgin from League Two
01:08:43are into the draw tomorrow.
01:08:44Stranraer could join them, of course,
01:08:46if they won the match on Tuesday night.
01:08:48And that's always good to see, actually.
01:08:50You want to see clubs in the lower divisions
01:08:52getting into at least this round, don't you?
01:08:54Yeah, and you always find that whenever they get drawn
01:08:56against one of the premiership sides,
01:08:58it creates a buzz around the towns, the local areas.
01:09:02And that's what you want.
01:09:03That's what the Scottish Cup should bring.
01:09:04And it does bring.
01:09:05And hopefully there can be some upsets in amongst it.
01:09:09I just hope that we aren't involved in any of those.
01:09:11All right.
01:09:13One match got the Cup weekend underway last night.
01:09:16Resurgent Rangers, who introduced three new signings
01:09:19on the pitch before taking on League Two,
01:09:21and an Athletic.
01:09:22Paul Mitchell is the commentator.
01:09:28He's here to go.
01:09:29He's here to go.
01:09:30He's here to go.
01:09:31He's here to go.
01:09:32He's here to go.
01:09:33Go.
01:09:34That might fall Rangers way.
01:09:35Darryl back to Danilo.
01:09:37Majofsky wants it.
01:09:38Cuts on the insides.
01:09:39And Majofsky nets for Rangers.
01:09:44Well, it's been all Anand to start with.
01:09:47But they've been sucker punched.
01:09:49Rangers 1, Anand 0.
01:09:50Bojan Majofsky.
01:09:51Yeah, it's exactly what Rangers needed.
01:09:53They needed that spark.
01:09:54Bojan Majofsky has provided that.
01:09:56Provided that, a great start for Rangers.
01:10:00That's a lovely ball thrown to Dowell, Dowell on the outside,
01:10:04Curtis with a clip, here's the chance!
01:10:08It's a double for Bojan Majofsky,
01:10:11on his Scottish Cup debut for Rangers.
01:10:13He scored twice on his Copa del Rey debut for Girona,
01:10:18he repeats that feat here today.
01:10:19And Majofsky's at that back post where he loves to finish it.
01:10:23Great header pass, the Anna goalkeeper, brilliant from Rangers.
01:10:34Curtis has made a great run,
01:10:36just on the angle, clips it back in off the crossbar,
01:10:40and brilliantly defended in the end by Scott Hooper,
01:10:43never gave up.
01:10:44What a ball that was in,
01:10:46and again a brilliant run from Finlay Curtis,
01:10:49the goalkeeper doesn't know whether to come or stay.
01:10:51Kurt, this is so unfortunate, it bangs off the crossbar.
01:10:58Rangers go short once more,
01:11:00and that a couple of times is Joe Rothwell.
01:11:04Rothwell curling in, there's the header!
01:11:07And there is the third goal!
01:11:11Well, it's not been his favourite season, Kieran, now,
01:11:13but he gets on the score sheet for the first time this season.
01:11:16Last score for Rangers in December of 23 against Monoel.
01:11:21There's Mikey Moore.
01:11:24Harry Matondo.
01:11:27Matondo trying to find a way through.
01:11:30The referee points to the spot,
01:11:31upended by Scott Hooper,
01:11:34who felt the contact may have been there,
01:11:36but the player exaggerated it,
01:11:38but Duncan Nicholson had no doubt in his mind here.
01:11:41Majorski!
01:11:55Celebrates a hat-trick as Rangers move to four goals to nil.
01:11:58Asgard.
01:12:04Only his eyes for goal!
01:12:06And finishes it beautifully.
01:12:09Looks to the heavens to say thank you.
01:12:11Rangers hit five at Ibrox.
01:12:14That's a great free kick from Teller Asgard.
01:12:17And an athlete came to try and conquer,
01:12:19they couldn't do so.
01:12:20Rangers running out winners
01:12:21and progress to round five of the Scottish Cup.
01:12:25Yeah, comfortable enough win for Rangers.
01:12:30To be fair,
01:12:30and an athletic brought over a thousand fans to Ibrox last night,
01:12:33although they were ultimately to be disappointed.
01:12:36Danny Rule made nine changes last night.
01:12:38They won five-nil
01:12:39and are looking better and better with each week, Stephen, aren't they?
01:12:42Yeah, we played them a couple of weeks ago
01:12:43and they're organised.
01:12:45I thought it was a game ours
01:12:47that was well battled
01:12:49and ended up a really good kind of one for the neutral.
01:12:51But look, they're hitting good for them.
01:12:53I think flexing their financial muscle as well
01:12:55with three new signings getting unveiled
01:12:57and then obviously making the nine changes
01:12:59and still going on to win five-nil.
01:13:01So it's not, it was very good.
01:13:02And talk about keeping the best till last.
01:13:04I think that finish from the free kick was ridiculous.
01:13:08Goal of the rounds, maybe?
01:13:09Cranks, the Asgard goal?
01:13:10I think in any level of football,
01:13:13no one's saving that.
01:13:14Irrespective of how good you are as a goalkeeper.
01:13:17It's just, this is the angle.
01:13:18The height he gets, the movement he gets,
01:13:20it's nestled so far into the top corner.
01:13:23No goalkeeper can read that.
01:13:24But Miofsky getting the hat-trick as well.
01:13:26I think a lot of people expected a little bit more from him.
01:13:28He probably hasn't had the minutes he wanted.
01:13:30He certainly hasn't got the goals that he wanted.
01:13:31That's his first career hat-trick as well,
01:13:33which seems a bit odd.
01:13:34So if they can get him scoring and Termini scoring,
01:13:36then I'm sure Danny Rule will be happy.
01:13:38No doubt he will.
01:13:39All right then, tomorrow we have got Strindra,
01:13:43sorry, a rearranged match before that.
01:13:45Strindra Queens Park, that's on Tuesday night.
01:13:48Off today because our Waterlog Stair Park pitch,
01:13:51that's at 7.45 on Tuesday night.
01:13:53Tomorrow, too much is still to come, of course.
01:13:56You can hear all about them on Sportsound,
01:13:58BBC Radio Scotland at 2 o'clock.
01:14:00Aberdeen against Wraith Rovers is live
01:14:02on BBC One Scotland at 2.15.
01:14:04And there'll be another highlights programme
01:14:06tomorrow night at half-past ten.
01:14:09So two matches still to come tomorrow.
01:14:12I wonder if the word Macclesfield
01:14:15will be mentioned in the Auchinleck build-up.
01:14:17What do you think, Steve?
01:14:19I don't know. I'll see.
01:14:23Actually, I'll tell you what, guys.
01:14:24One of my favourite lines
01:14:25in all the preview material this week
01:14:27was of the somewhat mature Auchinleck fan
01:14:30who said that the game against Celtic tomorrow
01:14:32is the biggest thing to happen in Auchinleck
01:14:34since the Who played the Community Centre in 1966.
01:14:38I think the village has lit up.
01:14:40There's thousands of people going to it.
01:14:42It's a great spectacle for them.
01:14:45They can put them in the spotlight.
01:14:46They can go and give their best.
01:14:48They haven't played for a couple of weeks,
01:14:49like some of the lower league clubs as well,
01:14:51so they may be a little short of fitness.
01:14:52But the enthusiasm,
01:14:53they've earned their right to come and play here.
01:14:55As a part-time player, you sacrifice a lot.
01:14:57This is a reward you get
01:14:58to play against the Champions of Scotland.
01:15:00And a final brief word from you, Stephen.
01:15:03Aberdeen against Wraith Rovers.
01:15:04No formality, is it?
01:15:05With no manager,
01:15:06I think it'll be an interesting one
01:15:08for Aberdeen again.
01:15:09Wraith Rovers have at times performed well,
01:15:11so we'll see how that game goes.
01:15:13But hopefully, again,
01:15:15I'd love a few Cup upsets.
01:15:17It's been quite a night of Cup football.
01:15:19Hope you've enjoyed it.
01:15:20From all of us here,
01:15:21bye-bye for now.
01:15:21They say I come and I go
01:15:25Tell me all the ways you beat me
01:15:28I'm not here for long
01:15:29Catch me or I go
01:15:31You can't eat
01:15:32I come and I go
01:15:33Prove you got the right to please me
01:15:36Everybody knows
01:15:37Catch me or I go
01:15:39Houdini
01:15:40Catch me or I go
01:15:56Houdini
